Write Me A Love Story by Ravinder Singh, is his latest romance novel set between a best selling author and a literary editor at a budding publishing house. Abhimanyu Razdan & Asmita Mullick starts of on a very wrong foot.

Both of them are at eachother's throat since day one and now Abhimanyu is all set ruin her career. At the same time Asmita also plans to over cross Abhimanyu and help another author at the same time.

The first 100 pages just went on smooth and perfect and it was giving me a vibe of my first Indian author romance book that I would have genuinely loved. The perfect hate to love feels went down the drain as the story progresses.

I read this author after a long time now, and I can say that in terms of writing he has grown in a good way. The concept of this book was very promising but the execution could have definitely been better. I expected a lot of more smoothness in terms of chemistry between the two characters.

Right. So the hero of this book (by a male romance author, I am just saying) is a super-hot male romance author, who has an enemies to lovers thing with the heroine, his editor, a litfic genre snob who learns to appreciate his genius and how romance is totally better than litfic. We like this already. He also gets (metaphorically) fellated by publishers throughout the entire book as they do massive print runs and some proper online marketing. Truly romance is about wish fulfilment.

When I say the hero is hot, he's *super hot*. As we know, women who read romance all fantasise about themselves getting sexed by the hero (it says here), but the women who read his books specifically fantasise about the author taking the hero role. All his readers are gagging for him, because he's so hot that...

...that he gets a love scene with himself.

There is no other way to put it. The hero gets so turned on by the sight of his own rock-solid abs and thick cock that he has a lovingly detailed on-page wank. The word auto-erotic has never been so applicable.

He took a good look at his athletic body and admired it... His gaze travelled further down his navel towards his black Brazilian-cut briefs. That was the only piece of clothing he was wearing under his undone bathrobe. His lean, muscular torso rose and fell with every breath. his thoughts strayed from the scene in the chapter to himself... His fingers traced the stem of his aroused manhood. It boosted his libido to admire its thickness.

Again, this isn't a gay romance scene. This is literally the hero getting off on how hot he personally is. I am IN AWE.

Tragically, the book does not sustain quite this level of bananapants, though it is still solidly bananapants. The hero is epically awful, the plot is ridiculous (and has the kind of holes cities fall into), it all whips along with great vim, and I felt invigorated in a way one only gets from a truly nutso romance novel.

Okay, so first off, who let this guy be an author? WHO decided to publish the trash and that belongs solely on the screen of his laptop for him and his delusional fantasies.

This was my first Ravinder Singh book, and I think it's safe to say it will be my last. I have read some truly terrible stuff, books that are toxic romances and devolve into really weird crime or psych thrillers, and yet to date this is the worst thing I have ever read.

The writing feels like I'm reading the diary of a sexually frustrated teenage boy after India banned p*rn. It's juvenile and super cringey and I felt like my grandmother saying tauba tauba at the nonsense that I was reading. For me as a reader, to be able to connect with Asmita falling in love with Abhimanyu on the basis of his writing, the writing should be phenomenal. It was far from it. The romance scenes were laughable because of the lack of build-up, the angsty teen boy writing and just the general lack of chemistry. The sex scenes made me uncomfortable. Being able to write sex well is a talent in itself especially in the romance genre and wow, does Singh fail. The sex scenes made me feel uncomfortable like my skin was crawling. Also, the entire novel was unrealistic, sexting your editor? I mean if this book is based on precedence, which I'm hoping it's not, I would at least understand why it's published because I can't imagine how anyone in their right mind would publish this after reading it.

I feel like Ravinder Singh needs to go back to a basic middle school English class. He never uses an apostrophe. I'm not endorsing unnecessary short forms, but the normal amount of short forms like 'I'm' instead of 'I am' or 'I've' instead of 'I have' helps the dialogue along. It helps natural dialogue flow. No one uses the full forms all the time. Using the full form of everything in conversation and dialogue makes it feel unnatural and disturbs the flow of the writing. Usually, I wouldn't nitpick but the problem persists throughout the novel making an unbearable experience even more unpleasant.

Evidently, Ravinder Singh intended for his audience to be five-year-olds. When I want to convey to someone that a character was quiet, I would use any of the following phrases -

'He remained silent.'
'He was quiet.'
'He was taciturn'
'He was reticent.'

Instead of any of these options, and I'm sure many more are available, Singh uses - 'Abhimanyu kept mum.' Like he was instructing a five-year-old to keep mum while the guests came home for dinner. And he uses it more than once.

I didn't care about any of the characters. So when Asmita and Abhimanyu ended up apart I didn't really care I was just so happy the book had ended.

I wish I had more to say but this was intellectually violating, the writing and language are juvenile, Abhimanyu is a verified a**, the sex is yuck (I sent a line to a friend, who responded with 'CHEEEEEEE, EW WHY ARE YOU SENDING ME THIS.') and all in all I would never pick up a book by this man again.

A shame to the name of commercial fiction. The only place Ravinder Singh should be published is in the shady section of Wattpad, where I usually end up seeing the disturbing mafia romances and even that would be doing a disservice to anyone interested in the written word.

Original review :

My mind feels violated. I need a few hours to process before I can rage how truly horrifying this book was.

Utter garbage
Do yourself a favor, never read this trash.

Synopsis (cuz GR hasn't given one! I don't blame it.)
Abhimanyu Razdan, a renowned author of Romance books, also referred as the King of Romance is offered a contract with PaperInk, a rising publication house looking for an A-list author like him. There he stumbles upon Asmita, a phenomenal literary fiction editor, for whom popular fiction(especially Romance) isn't her cup of tea. They both get off to a bad start after which Abhimanyu is adamant to make Asmita read his work. She is asked to edit his upcoming book, against her will. She takes it as a blow to her dignity and contemplates the unethical notion of stealing his story for his rival Rizwan Siddiqui, another top romance writer. Eventually, Abhimanyu and Asmita are attracted to each other and seem to get along with each other, until one day when Abhimanyu gets to know his plot has been leaked to Rizwan.

The plot piqued my interest not much after the start, which is why I couldn't put it down or DNF it. For me, there was nothing better than the ending which thankfully implied I didn't have to bear with this trash anymore. It was certainly not for me. But I really appreciate that unexpected ending.

This is the story about a famous writer, Abhimanyu, and his love story with his editor, Asmita.

This book was another enjoyable read by the author. I really liked the setting of this story which was a publishing house which was the best thing I liked about this story. I have rarely read books that's set in publishing house. We got to know the behind the scenes of the workings of publishing houses which was great. Not gonna lie, my dream job is to work at a publishing house and reading this book transported me to a dream land lol. Also, the premise of a romance between an author and a publisher sounded very enticing and intriguing.

I liked the fact that Abhimanyu's book remains the main focus throughout this story. This book was written well and is accessible to everyone. Also it was a fast and quick read, very easy to fly through! The pacing of this book was spontaneous as well.

The love story was of enemies-to-lovers trope. They meet on a bad note and instantly started hating each other. He then forces her to work on his book as  a editor. She denies at first but then agrees. However, I wasn't a big fan of the romance. There wasn't much tension between the two as there should be in an enemies to lovers trope. They started hating each other alright but instead of being a gradual transition, there was a switch and then they were in love instantly with one another. It felt very instalove type. I did not see any chemistry between the main characters. Sure there was some sizzling, undeniable attraction between the two but the chemistry wasn't there. They felt incompatible and I wasn't rooting for their relationship.

This book is so focused on Abhimanyu's book that the romance takes a back seat and becomes the background instead of being at the forefront of the story.

I was surprised and satisfied by the ending though. It was sad but it made sense. I thought it will be yet another happy endings but I was so glad it took this turn instead.

This book may not be my favorite romance book but I definitely enjoyed my time reading it. It was an easy read, fun, and entertaining. Therefore I'll highly recommend this book if you are looking for something fun to read.

This book cannot be further from reality. The central characters get hung up on such childlike issues that it makes you wonder, despite being adults, if they ever grew out their teenage years. And what follows is a numbing romance so devoid of chemistry, or logic, I can't help but feel amused. Yet my biggest peeve with the book is how it tries to classify immature, distastefully written sex scenes as erotica.

It's a shame that such books steeped neck deep in overflowing mediocrity become bestsellers.

🔆Maaya -- editor in chief of Paperink publishing house, shaped the publishing house because of the talent and hard work.

🔆Abimanyu a budding writer of the town . He earned numerous fans through his words. Maaya wanted Abimanyu to be on board for Paperink , for his next novel. They all sat in the conference room to discuss the same. Asmita and Abimanyu had a small fight that morning. She is the editor of paperink. Asmita was not a big fan of Abimanyu’s genre, knowing this Abimanyu wanted Asmita to work for his work.

🔆During the work, Asmita fell for his words, and then for the writer. He too liked her, and things were not in their hands when they came to know about , the plot of his story has been revealed to Rizwaan (His competitor) which leads to their break up.

🔆Later Abimanyu found that Asmita was not the reason for the plot reveal . But that’s too late…

YA Romance is the genre which got me into reading and yet somehow, I have completely stopped reading it. I MIGHT have outgrown this genre now, but I am sure I would have still liked reading it had I not feared people’s judgements regarding YA romance.

‘Write me a Love Story’ brought back the sweet old memories – of staying up late, cuddled in a blanket, with a good old romantic read. And not only because this book falls under this category, but also because ‘falling in love with commercial fiction’ is a part of the plot:

PaperInk Publishing has been looking to sign India’s bestselling romance author, Abhimanyu Razdan, for his upcoming book. But even before their first meeting, Abhimanyu gets in a spat with PaperInk’s Editor – Asmita. Laced with egoism, he announces that he will sign up with PaperInk only if Asmita edits his book, fully knowing that she works only on literary fiction. Left with no option, Asmita starts working on his book and finds herself falling for his words.

Now, as you might predict, Asmita starts falling for Abhimanyu too. But this isn’t the end of it. In fact, what came after this kept me up till 3 in the morning because I just couldn’t sleep without knowing the answers! I cannot reveal the further plot without giving spoilers, but I will say this - if you are a romance lover, you will obviously enjoy it. And even if you aren’t a romance fan, you will still find Asmita’s story of exploring commercial fiction adorable.

The book also has some steamy and saucy scenes, which I think could have been slightly more tasteful. But the book still shined for me and I highly enjoyed it.

The story has a plot that has been well-planned, to the last detail. Ravinder has used his knowledge of the publishing industry and the process completely to create a story that seems hyper real in the way it is told. The story manages to capture the attention of the reader and keeps them hooked till the last page. The primary reason for it is the language and the way it has been told. The words flow out one after the another almost seamlessly and the length of the book is just right. Ravinder manages to convey the emotions that the characters feel through his words effectively and there are times where the reader would be grinning ear-to-ear with the banter that the characters are having. The romance part of the story is his signature with just the right amount of wooing, flirting and intimacy, both implied and physical. The lovemaking scenes are detailed (very), yet they have an aesthetic charm to it and none of them seem forced or exclusive from the story. The story arc is excellent with the primary track not losing its pace even once. I would have loved to see a bit more of Rizwan’s story in the plot, adding to the tension of the plot. The climax is excellently penned and executed. The scenes are visually written, and I could see the events unfold.

Coming to the characters, WMALS is a character driven story, primarily about Asmita and Abhimanyu. Asmita as a character was impressive in the manner she made decisions and how she was externally motivated. This is exhibited at multiple points in the story. Her self-awareness and steadfastness added an interesting flavor to her character. Abhimanyu’s character arc is another interesting study in itself in the manner things unfold for him, specially towards the end. Maaya’s character has shades that highlighted how she was a career-oriented woman and for her, nothing came first against PaperInk. Each of the character got their due time in the story to tell their side and this is something I loved about the book. The character descriptions are vivid and can help you visualize the image he is trying to put in front of you, from the clothes to the emotions. There are minute details that add to the overall picture such as tastes etc.

The description of the scene in the Mumbai Local was the highlight for me as the audiovisual cues as well as the descriptions helped me be a part of the scene, living it.

Written by Ravinder Singh who is known for writing romantic stories and making unconventional choices, the novel is an exquisite attempt at writing erotica that would appeal to the urban reader.
Set in Mumbai, the story revolves around Abhimanyu, a romance writer and Asmita, the editor at his publishing house. The story takes an unconventional turn when the protagonists find each other at loggerheads. Unable to find an amiable solution to the problem Asmita was facing, she was forced to  work with Abhimanyu, albeit reluctantly and soon their relationship underwent a drastic change.
Action packed and engaging, the novel is unputdownable and explores a wide array of emotions ranging from passion, anger, frustration, lust and fear.
Each detail regarding the setting, the mood and the undercurrents running through the novel has been described in a vivid manner. As a reader, you would be able to visualize yourself in the parking lot, at night on the beach, in the retro office set-up as well in the hospital with Asmita's mother.
The electric chemistry between Abhimanyu and Asmita is bound to arouse you, tickle your senses and set your heart racing. Their intimate scenes have been described tastefully and would fire your imagination and leave you craving for more.
Set in a publishing house, the novel does have autobiographical elements and it seems that the writer has given an open invitation to all his fans and followers to approach him unabashedly and fulfill their fantasies.
A character driven story, it is a reflection of the writer's evolved writing style, sharp wit, delineated descriptions and, lucid and gripping writing style.

To put it in the writer's own words, 'It's equally nice!'

Write me a love story is about Asmita (a literary fiction editor) and Abhimanyu (a bestselling romance author). PaperInk publishing is keen on hiring Abhimanyu Razdan for his upcoming novel. But Abhimanyu will only come on board if Asmita will edit his work, fully knowing she doesn’t work on that genre. Then why? only to satisfy his ego. After much opposition she works on it, only to find herself falling for his words.
But falling for an author’s words and falling for him are two very different things!

YA romance was my go to genre when I started reading. its always been a comfort read with flowey storyline and easy language.
The story of write me a love story is simple just like the story of the book Abhimanyu wrote but the simple things are what we crave the most. the sweet budding romance, the texting, the joy of cooking together and the love.

A teenager me would have loved this story but less liked the ending but the present me loved the ending as it is more realistic and made proper sense.
I assumed I might have surpassed this genre and will not enjoy reading it, but giggling while reading, staying up late just to finish the book, only to know what happens at last, says otherwise.

If you are looking for a YA romance with enemies to lovers trope & some steamy romance, this is your book.

As the name suggests, the book 'Write me a love story' is a love story between Abhimanyu Razdan, a well established author and Asmita, a literary editor who works at PaperInk, a publishing house.

This was my first ever book by the author and it was a pretty good read. The enemies-to-lovers trope was interesting and also, I must admit that the ending was totally unexpected. There were only a few characters in this book and they were all different in their own ways. The writing was simple and lucid. Another thing I loved about the book was that the plot revolved around books. Being an avid reader, it was fun to know more about the process of publishing a book.

Overall it was a good read. I would recommend this book to those who like romance genre.

The story revolves around two main characters. The blue eyed boy of indian publishing, Abhimanyu Razdan, a famous romance writer and Asmita, the editor at his publishing house whose first meeting wasn't so good which left bad impression on eachother mind.
Abhimanyu came to sign contract for his new book with paprerink where Ashmita was working as editor. To take revenge of whatever happened on their first meeting Abhimanyu wanted ashmita to edit his book while later was not on that project.
Ashmita was firm about not working with Abhimanyu but her mother's Illness forced her to do that work.
Read book to know more when two enemies who never wanted to see eachother started working together.

Passion, love and romance, maybe synonymous to us, an expert storyteller like Ravindra Singh can surely show us the true meaning of those words. With an add of steam and sizzle, Write Me a Love Story is a refreshing read for this romantic monsoon!

The main characters in this story are lovable, even if they make drastic decisions and frustrate us. The story is fast paced and dynamic, keeping you on your toes for the major portion of it. The drama and romance was something I would have enjoyed more a few years ago 😅 I still was smitten. The tension in the book adds up as rivalry and plagiarism plays a role in this book.

Overall I found this book an engaging and easy to read. Will surely recommend to the romance lovers out there.

Romance fiction is one of those genres which I specially read if i am in a reading slump. They are my comfort zone, easy one time reads. That being said i am not a big fan for any Indian commercial writer, I have tried reading Chetan Bhagat, Durjoy Dutta, Preeti Shenoy but i never connected to their stories. This was my first Ravindra Singh book and it did not disappoint me.

Write me a Love Story is a love story of a bestselling author and his editor. A classic haters to lovers kind of a story. The story is fast paced, I finished reading the whole book in 3 hours. The plot was very different and unique as compared to anything i have read before. I enjoyed reading it as a light refreshing read.

Though i did expect a lot more depth to the characters. The relationship between Abhimanyu and Asmita seemed very sudden and considering how fast it happened I had predicted that it will not last. Though that was true, I enjoyed the equation between Abhimanyu and Rizwan.

Overall a good read!

To be honest I was utterly disappointed how this book turned out to be. Compared to his other works like your dreams are mine now and I too had a love story this book is extremely poor. I don't really understand what people find interesting in it and what the over hype of this book was all about. Sex is an important part of every romance ,I accept . But there is certain way of expressing it. The way this book describes it makes it feel so cheap and vulgar. I didn't even have words to describe. As a reader I began with reading his books and I fell in love with his words and I always reserved a place for him in my heart but with this book he shattered all my respect and love for his words .. this book can never be called a romance. Its erotica and some kind of porn even. All together I am utterly dejected and disappointed with this book😑😑

Humans! How easily they let feelings rule over logic. Ravinder Singh does it again. Takes the reader through the emotional roller coaster 🎢 and finishes on a melancholic note. A strong female protagonist who makes a lasting impression.

The book had promise. But turned out to be disappointing especially the middle where sex and romance seemed quite force-fit. The last 1/3rd manages to save it from being a complete disaster. Having said that, there are elements that I enjoyed reading especially Asmita's character.

This isn't the greatest or perfect love story, but with such a fluid storyline and simple language, it pulls out every ounce of passion. My thoughts are now encased in his words, curling up into the shell of his words. I couldn't put the book down and ended up reading it in one sitting and cutting my sleep in half.

I can't recall the last time I wanted re-read a book soon after the first time I read it. My fingers are itching to return to my study, pick up the book, snuggle up on a chair (with a hot cup of coffee, of course), and read it all over again.

I haven't read all of his novels since I recall how emotionally draining his first book was. For a week, his words held my thoughts hostage. His writings, although being written in simple words and with lucidity, have a knack to flip your heart and mind upside down. I am grateful for the opportunity to read his latest book. And here I am again, totally fascinated by his words. Damn! I am going to lose my sleep again for a week again, isn't it? Oh my! Dear Author, what are you doing to your readers?

This book is a jam packed with intense emotions. It's the story of Abhimanyu, the novelist, and Asmita, the editor, who get off on a wrong foot. Abhimanyu's ego is adamant about making Asmita read his works. Asmita, on the other hand, is determined about not working on his novel. Asmita is stuck in a position in which abandoning the project will jeopardise her career and life. She is desperate to keep her job. Since she has a little say in the matter, Asmita finds herself as the editor of a book written by someone she obviously despises.

What starts out as a mistake quickly transforms into something unimaginable. Asmita soon finds herself immersed in his world of words. The beginning of the spark between the two was strong and enticing. I liked the banter between the two. There was one instance where it was just after they had shared a moment and she was about to step inside her car, Abhimanyu pulls her by her arm and gives her a hug.

The innocence and clarity to hold back some powerful emotions yet showcasing them in a small subtle gesture was very beautiful. My heart skipped a beat reading those lines. When I had finished reading that sentence, I closed my eyes and savoured reading that. My heart raced and I felt a lump in my throat. I realised I had now stepped into their world, like Asmita stepped into Abhimanyu's.

This novel has a fantasy feel to it. And, despite the fantasy elements, the book's central message was powerful. Plagiarism. It's something that can't be tolerated under any circumstances. Regardless of the context of the plagiarism, the idea that the artist's uniqueness can never be taken from him or duplicated is well portrayed. Asmita’s persona moved me. Her passion for her work and going above and beyond for Abhimanyu’s success was beautiful. The capacity to separate your strongest of emotions and the strength to pull back on your deepest feelings and desires and standing firm on your ground is cord strikingly beautiful, laudable and rare. And the power to channel these feelings into constructive love rather than destructive hatred, even after being emotionally knocked down twice, by the person you love, is enormous. Little did she know, she would end up having the same fate as the protagonist of his novel she was working. Ending up with one-sided love.

It's a lovely, heart-breaking novel filled with blazing romance, fury, and rivalry.
A big thanks to @harpercollinsin for this review copy, which allows me to provide an honest review of the book.

The starting of the book really piqued my interest and got me hooked. I loved reading about the publishing process of a book, and all the steps involved. The writing in the beginning part is eye-catching and descriptive.

The romance is fast and steamy, rather than the slow burn I like. The basic trope is enemy to lovers, but the ‘lovers’ part comes way too early for my liking.

The writing fluctuated a lot. It was great and descriptive in some places but fell flat at others.

The author used the phrase “(Name of the character) kept mum” at least thrice. That sounded more like a children’s book language.

What I Liked:

Description of PaperInk office. It was really cool place and the imagination here is great. The same is the case with Abhimanyu’s sea-facing apartment.
The issue of plagiarism portrayed in the book, and how well it is handled.
How Asmita saves the book launch when there were no print copies available. That was indeed a brilliant strategy.
What I didn’t like:

The plot stills at some points, and it wasn’t moving ahead.
3 – 4 years back, this book would have been a 4+ stars for me, but not in the present.

Irresistible, intresting and passionate romance

'Write me a Love story' thats exactly what the book holds. A passionate chemistry, romance, roller coaster ride of emotions and an interesting twist.

Ravin's writing is always commendable but I felt this one is just the best one. From the cover of the book to the blurb everything is so much enticing that you can't keep the book down untill you finish reading it. I have not only read it but I have felt every word of it, every scene, every emotion and that's what makes it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read.

There are many scenes and lines which has captured my heart for real. I loved the characters, the way they are portrayed and that authors rivalry uffff - that part was something which gave this story a different level of liking.

I loved the part where publishing house scenario is described. Ravin has brilliantly used his knowledge of publishing industry really well.

Also the way abhimanyu's character is shown - the young, arrogant, full of attitude and that confidence is killing.

And to support this character Asmita is just what needed - a beautiful, simple, confident, and that attitude "i know what I m doing" is just amazing.

You read the book and you will fall in love with the story and writer ☺️.

Though I finished reading the book, yet hungry to read it again and again.

Write Me A Love Story by Ravinder Singh, is his latest romance novel set between a best selling author and a literary editor at a budding publishing house. Abhimanyu Razdan & Asmita Mullick starts of on a very wrong foot.

Eventually,

Abhimanyu and Asmita are attracted to each other and seem to get along with each other, until one day when Abhimanyu gets to know his plot has been leaked to Rizwan. The story has a plot that has been well-planned, to the last detail.

The story manages to capture the attention of the reader and keeps them hooked till the last page. The primary reason for it is the language and the way it has been told. The words flow out one after the another almost seamlessly. Ravinder manages to convey the emotions that the characters feel through his words effectively.

The romance part of the story is his signature with just the right amount of wooing, flirting and intimacy, both implied and physical. The lovemaking scenes are in very detailed (making his boldest story yet), yet they have an aesthetic charm to it and none of them seem forced or exclusive from the story. The story arc is excellent with the primary track not losing its pace even once. The climax is excellently penned and executed. The scenes are visually written, and I could see the events unfold. Asmita as a character was impressive in the manner she made decisions and how she was externally motivated. This is exhibited at multiple points in the story. '

Write me a Love story' thats exactly what the book holds. A passionate chemistry, romance, roller coaster ride of emotions and an interesting twist.Ravin's writing is always commendable but I felt this one is just the best one. From the cover of the book to the blurb everything is so much enticing that you can't keep the book down untill you finish reading it. The book also highlights the excitement of things, like hearing your name from your crush in person or on text, having someone in your life, who can complete your sentences or answer your unasked questions. How sometimes two people totally different from each other can still vibrate on the same frequency. This one is something very different from all his previous novels.

So, this is an exquisite attempt at writing erotica that would appeal to the urban reader. And to support this character Asmita is just what needed - a beautiful, simple, confident, and that attitude "i know what I m doing" is just amazing. You read the book and you will fall in love with the story and writer ☺️.

Though I finished reading the book, yet hungry for more. Ravin you have rocked again 🤘 I would like to give 5 out of 5 starts for this book especially for that boldness.

This story is about two very different characters who has been portrayed in a very well manner. Abhimanyu Razdan a bestselling author, high on his success meets a girl named Asmita Mullick, an editor of literary fiction. Their first meeting wasn't an ordinary one.

Abhimanyu wanted Asmita to edit his manuscript knowing the fact that she wasn't a commercial fiction editor, just to satisfy his male ego. Whereas on the other side Asmita wasn't a girl who would take all this, she was ready to quit her job rather to relinquish her self respect. This tussle between them spices up the story.

Stars weren't on Asmita's side, she had to work for Abhimanyu against her will cause of some emergency. And this led to the brewing of their love story which was not at all a common one. Asmita, a girl who looked down to commercial fiction read the whole book in one night that to written by the person whom she abhhored. She started falling for the words which Abhimanyu wrote. She started craving more of his stories. And little did she knew she has started feeling for him.

On the other side Abhimanyu was curious to know what Asmita felt about his writing. As he couldn't take that she hasn't read any of his work that too he being an infamous writer. It gave him immense pleasure when Asmita expresses her thought regarding his book. He wanted to know more what she felt about it. As a writer he always wanted to know from his reader which part they loved alot. This curiosity of him was leading him to another track.

The story gives us a perfect description of a publishing house. What a story matters to a writer. How they put their heart and soul to build a story. Also it has dealt with the topic plagiarism with which I guess everyone could relate.

This was my first Ravinder Singh's book and I'm more than satisfied with this read. The story is very well written. The plot is fast paced, written in a simple language. This was the perfect concoction of hate, love, sensuousness, and a passionate romance. I'm just overwhelmed after reading this. I felt it ended too fast, I wanted to dive more into this book (maybe here I'm being selfish). One can finish this book in one sitting. After a long time I've read hate to love trope and it was worth it.

The only things which could have been more perfect was the selection of correct bold/italic font. There were places where Abhimanyu's manuscript was being described that could have been done in either of the option so that it could be more precise and wouldn't leave a chance to confuse a reader.

As Abhimanyu wanted to know from his reader what are the things his reader liked the most. I would love to express to the writer what I liked the most I loved how Asmita took her stand and choose her self respect above everything (which will be seen towards the close of the book). This book gave me a mixed feeling and has stuck in my mind since the day I've finished reading.

THE REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

“Missing someone isn’t loving them. There is a lot more to love than just missing someone.”

This book is the story of Abhimanyu and Asmita. Abhimanyu is a best-selling commercial fiction author who is egoistic, drunk on success and nothing matters more to him than his book, while Asmita is a literary fiction editor at PaperInk and looks down upon commercial fiction. PaperInk wants to get Abhimanyu on board but even before the meeting happens, he and Asmita get into a hot argument just before the meeting, unaware of the fact who the other was. Abhimanyu makes things turn in a way that for PaperInk to have him on board, Asmita would have to be his editor. But fate has its own plan for them which they understand later.

This book is a mix of romance and erotica. The storyline is engaging, irresistible and well- written. My favorite thing about the book is that it is a character driven story and not plot driven. The characters are well developed and stand out individually. Not just Asmita or Abhimanyu the author has made sure that every character is properly developed. With each and every word I read, I was able to visualize and feel its impact and had a face for every character. The lucid language of the book made it more relatable and easy flowing for me. Each and every detail mentioned is well thought.

If you intend to read this make sure to keep in mind that it’s not just a romance but includes erotica too. I have observed that people look down on Indian commercial fiction which Ravinder sir has adequately hinted at in the story. One should never make the same opinion about all authors just because they write a particular genre, you never know you might enjoy reading some of them while you dislike the other as every author and their writing style is different. Ravinder sir has also hinted at topic of plagiarism and politics that happen in the publishing industry through the character of Rizwan, an author who writes the same genre as Abhimanyu but uses money and power to increase the sales of his books and tries to play mental politics too.

The book is not just the story of Abhimanyu and Asmita but also of the people with different ideologies where one wants to have the same partner for the rest of the life and the other doesn’t believe in a committed relationship. Asmita undoubtedly is my favorite. I liked how she doesn’t let her love for Abhimanyu blind her again and gives her self-respect the much needed importance when she makes the final decision.

If you want an engaging, easy flowing, light read where the author woes you with his words then this is the book for you.

Love can make one do anything, people in love forget the whole world. You do crazy and stupid things when in love, sometimes even forget the mistakes of your partner in the name of love. However, if it comes to your self-respect then there should be no second thought about leaving the person and choosing yourself.
"Write me a love story" too have the above-mentioned plotline. Abhimanyu Razdan a bestselling romance author, loved by every youngster of the country, for his upcoming novel, decided to change his publishing house because of his competitor Rizwan. And at the same time PaperInk, an up and coming publishing house was looking for an A list author who can take them to the next level.
A meeting was set up between the PaperInk and Abhimanyu but on the same day before the meeting, Abhimanyu gets into an argument with Asmita, PaperInk's literary editor.
Once in the meeting when both came face to face they realised with whom they argued a few minutes ago, when Asmita got some privacy with Abhimanyu she immediately apologises but her apology failed to pacify Abhimanyu's big fat male ego and he announced that if PaperInk wants him to come on board his book will be edited by only Asmita.
Fates were not in Asmita's favour, even trying everything she was bound to do what Abhimanyu wanted from her. And once she started reading the final draft of Abhimanyu's book, she who has zero interest in commercial fiction fell in love with the words written by the same man whom she loathes.
And this starts the unexpected love story between the author and his editor but destiny have too much in its store for these two people.
This is a well-known fact that Ravinder Singh is a magician who knows how to grasp the attention of his readers and this exactly has been done in this novel. Though I found this one more adult fiction than a romance one I still enjoyed the story till the very last page. The way the story moves forward will keep you on the edge. This book will give you an insight into the world of publishing houses, how an idea becomes a full-fledged novel.

In the middle, I made up my mind that I did a mistake by picking up this book, as I don't like adult fiction too much and I was a little bit disappointed as this was my second book by the author and I was expecting to read something like his first novel. But I still read the book and you will be surprised to know that I was so very wrong, the ending of the book left me stunned.

This book is for all romance fiction lovers.

Firstly, given that I am not at all a fan of commercial fiction, I started reading the book only to have a fun night reading. I am a very fast reader and it took me one go to finish the book, but on some level the book was unputdownable.

There are 2 things wildly wrong with this book :-
1) The author himself backs the male protagonist (Abhimanyu). After completing almost 70% of the book, the author turns tables and reveals that it was the female protagonist (Asmita) who was acting immature even after constantly portraying Abhimanyu as a toxic individual.

2) The characters have a plausible backstory but they are not utilised fully.

And, 2 things that pushed me to give it a Three-Star Review is :-
1) Unlike most commercial fiction, the ending is much closer to reality. The protagonists do not work out their differences and have a happily ever after. The writers have a pretty good guess as to how the book would end towards the end even before the end arrives.
2) A few intricate details may seem dragged but are actually very well written. The writer takes the plot slow and steady and captures your attention almost immediately.

However, the author's indecisiveness regarding the plot is transparent through his storytelling.

I have read other Ravinder Singh novels as well and it is not his storytelling or use of literature to its optimum that is worth praising but rather the fact that it helps his readers have a cosy read. Ravinder Singh's Coffee Tables Novels cannot be assumed to be Literary Fiction, it is not. The enemies to lovers trope used in the form of an author who is love with his editor and that too passionately is definitely a new plot.

Ravinder Singh's writing has improved over the years and he definitely brings something new to the table with this book. The book is open ended so we can hope for a sequel. The author definitely needs to use better phrases and has to stop repeating words.

The book in a nutshell is a mediocre literature with a good plot. There is a total of four intimate scenes in the book which even though are well put, the chemistry for the other part between the protagonists are not done justice to.

Short Review:
The worst love story i have ever read
Long Review:
So, where do I even begin with this book? Well, let's just say it was a wild ride, and not the good kind. From start to finish, it felt like reading someone's very first English assignment. Honestly, I don’t know if this was a translation or what, but the writing was… rough. I mean, the kind of writing where you're wondering if the author has never written before.
The story kicked off with the classic enemies-to-lovers trope, but the transition from "I hate you" to "I love you" was non-existent and unbelievable that I got second-hand embarrassment. The way these two switch from hate to love was by the FMC getting horny through his book and bang the MMC to see if he is as good as his noveld lol and the MMC just feeding his ego through getting her. I wanted to root for them, I really did, but by the middle, I was just rooting for it to end.
Speaking of the end—thank goodness for it! Because by that point, I was already counting down the pages. Honestly, I was relieved when it was over because the characters were insufferable. The grand love story they kept talking about? Yeah, it felt like someone who read their first spicy novel and thought, “Wow, I wish someone would write about me like that”—except the writing was garbage. The FMC, who is supposed to be a literary critic, was over here swooning over the MMC's "amazing writing" (spoiler alert: it was not amazing).
The FMC was just so boring. She kept going on and on about how she doesn’t fall easily, but all it took was some cringe-worthy prose from the MMC, and boom—she’s hooked. She’s that person who marries a guy because he has cute kids, not because she’s into him. So unromantic! As for the MMC? Total narcissist. He didn’t grow, didn’t change, didn’t redeem himself—just an egotistical jerk from page one to the bitter end.
Oh, and the side characters? Just as bad. Not a single redeeming one in the bunch. It was a slog, people. But hey, at least I can say I made it to the end. Gold star for me!

DESCRIPTION : Starting with NOT SO GOOD interactions between the two. Here's an Intense romantic story between an Author & his very editor. But with a lot of mess. Emotionally & professionally. There were two characters Asmita(editor of Paper Ink) & Abhimanyu (author) and the other two most important were Maya( Head of Paper Ink) & Razdan(another author).

MY OPINION : The way characters were introduced and the story started It was so unknown to me that the main characters will be Asmita & Abhimanyu, supposed to be in a relationship & they will lead the story. Actually i haven't read the description of this book. I just got my hands on this one. Without even checking what kind of story it'll be. Everything was introduced so so well. Kind of a book where the plot was so neatly described & also characters that you'll live with in the story. When Abhimanyu was creating chaos for Asmita. It felt literally so bad & though i live with this character throughout the story. I too was hating Abhimanyu with the love (to be) of his life. Each & every detail of PaperInk was also heartfelt. It was like we were there while getting every detailing of this publishing house. Even every character was well defined. We can perfectly imagine Maya in our head also that Peter. And my favourite Asmita. We hated Razdan throughout the story with Asmita and Abhimanyu. I'm just in love with the form of writing. It was all so clean. Nothing extra nothing less. Just perfect. No extra words where it wasn't needed. No words left when needed. It's just a perfect book to get to know what love is. This book can definitely be considered to explain it to some extent. But you can't expect the ending. That ending will definitely teach you the meaning of love.

RECOMMENDATION : Yes you can read it without language hurdles. It's a beginner friendly book. You'll be just in the story. Feel the words. Feel the story. Live in the character.
