It’s been months since I lost Ingram. They say he’s dead. I refuse to believe it.
My life is hell. No matter how much I suffer, it’s never enough for Anton. He’s destroyed my reputation, driven away my friends and made me a shell of my former self.
I should stop pretending there’s a way out. I want to, but I can’t. I have to hold on.
Then it happens: a new foe rises to challenge the Masters. He calls himself Death.
He has a plan to destroy Anton.
And I’m part of it.
Twisted, shocking, action-packed and a non-stop rollercoaster right to the end, Kate and Ingram’s story will leave you spent, stunned and satisfied. HEA guaranteed. Don’t wait a second longer – find out how it ends today!
Publisher’s note: Trained is Book 3 in The Masters Series, completing the trilogy. Do not read it without reading Reckless and Disciplined first. This book contains material some may find disturbing. Reader discretion is advised.
This is a great conclusion to a wonderful romantic suspense trilogy. Whilst there was potential to have made this particular book much darker, it wouldn't have led to the story we got, so I'm happy with the status quo.
Picking up several months after the end of book #2, the reader is soon made aware of not only how much Kate's life has changed, but also the total power Anton now holds over her. Gradually the events of those missing months are filled in, resulting in Kate being given the opportunity to seek revenge on those who have wronged her. Despite some seemingly insurmountable moral dilemmas to overcome, Kate wants to see the Masters, and Anton, legally brought to justice but can she convince, or even rely on Death, to support her in that pursuit?
Great writing, a fast pace and engaging plot was enough to make me ignore the very eye rolling moment towards the end where, despite having been tortured for several hours, Anton . I think the more realistic sequence of events that followed helped dilute that one, tiny, 'beyond belief' moment. I find the author's voice to be very pleasant and easy to read, her prose flows smoothly with realistic dialogue and relatable characters.
This has been a very enjoyable trilogy to read, one that I would recommend to fans of romantic suspense and darker romance.
Brace yourself for the Grand Finale of Sansa’s Masters,it’s going to be a hell of a ride! After Disciplined, after Ingram was shot and drowned,i was left in despair. How could Kate survive without him? Lucky for me,i had a chance to find out early with the ARC of Trained….and what i learned, blew my mind!
It’s been months since Anton shot Ingram, causing him to fall into the water and drown. It’s also been a terrible time for Kate since that moment. Not only did she watch the man she loved disappear in the water, but Anton has forced her to live through hell. Being humiliated at every opportunity he can think of,and in every way he can come up with, she can only hope to endure until she finds a way to end this torture. It’s a good thing Ingram trained her well……
Anton regrets killing Ingram, and torturing Kate isn’t as satisfying as it should be without him to witness it. Having the Masters at his mercy isn’t giving him the satisfaction he expected either. And then things start to go wrong….. An armsdeal he was so very close to completing ends up in disaster. Two of the Masters he was planning to execute wind up dead before he can complete his plans. The ones claiming responsibility are a group no one ever heard of,called Anarchy Inc. Who knows what their next target will be….
This finale had twists and turns that were perfectly executed. Leaving me breathless, and very satisfied with the endresult!
(It was very nice to see familiar faces towards the end,too…..)
Oh my goodness, Kate and Ingram's story and finale was fantastic! Poor Kate, she is again enduring unspeakable things at Anton's hands. She is a very strong woman, extremely capable of whatever the Master's throw at her, her resilience is remarkable. Ingram is a man who makes most people quake with a look, he's scary when angered and even scarier when calm. Sansa Rayne writes spectacular stories with strong heroines and mighty heros who have their woman's back.
The conclusion to this twisted, captive suspense thriller is here. Will Kate and Ingram be able to finally stop The Masters and Anton or will their powers reach to far to overthrow them? Can they salvage a real relationship after all that’s happened? Kate is such a strong character and you can’t help but root for her. Such a great ending for Kate & Ingram’s journey. Plenty of action, mystery and a military vibe to keep you interested until the end. Does contain violence and bdsm; Told in multiple POV
“Don’t, Kate. Don’t give Anton your pain. That’s what he wants.” Hope is all I have. It tells me what I need to hear. Every night, it’s there, whispering in my ear in a soothing, familiar voice. “Someday this nightmare will be over, Kate. I promise.”
Trained had me in awe of the action packed, suspenseful plot. You never knew quite what to expect as each chess piece was moved. Each decision was well thought out, leaving no outcome unconsidered. Every contingency was given credence to avoid any possible surprises. An exceptionally written story, with an array of colourful characters and a formidable heroine, who wants justice.
The third and final book begins with Kate having her invisible strings pulled by her new puppet master, Anton. She has been under his control for some time, lost all credibility in the field of journalism. Isolated and alone after cutting her friends out of her life. A new threat has made an appearance, threatening to destroy the masters and all of their work. They are calling themselves Anarchy Inc. and whether they are vigilantes or terrorists is to be determined. All it will take is one word from Anton and everyone’s implants will be detonated. Which has everyone scared for their lives and doing as they are told however, Kate likes to flirt with danger.
The third book takes place many months after book two ended. Kate is now Anton’s prisoner, literally. She is kept in a cage in her apartment, has security detail around her 24/7, and if she disobeys one command, Anton will voice one word to activate the implants she carries in her body. She keeps dreaming about Ingram and that infuriates Anton. He is dead…or is he?! A new group shows up on the horizon to solely destroy Anton and the other Masters! They hit hard and fast leaving nothing behind~ Anton is slowly losing his grip and patience~ Kate is abducted by the head of this group! Anton has no clue what to do now…EVERYTHING is on the line…including his life~ the final showdown will surprise you…as will the ending…or is it the end?
"Trained" is the third book in The Masters series, and the conclusion. I've read a lot of really good book series, where each book gets better and better, and the ending wraps up everything in a nice neat package. The Masters series is definitely one of them. Ingram and Kate's story will keep you on the edge of your seat. These books were so well written, I felt like I was right there in the story. I've read several of Sansa Rayne's books, and I think this series is her best one yet. I feel there is more of Ingram and Kate's story that could be told. Maybe down the road a nice little novella, to update us on how they are doing. ;-) I received this book as an ARC, to voluntarily give a review if I wished to do so.
OMG! “Trained” is the final installment in the Masters Trilogy and it loved up to expectations! The action, suspense, drama, twists just keep coming. Kate is tethering at the end of her rope and Anton is pulling the strings. But things are not always as they seem when Anton appears to be losing control. This is a not-to-be-missed ending that will please any adrenaline junkie. This is the perfect ending for Kate and Ingram’s journey. I highly recommend you not miss this tale. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review
Death. This third chapter in this trilogy had me on edge from page one. Eight months have past since the Enclave incident and you won't believe what Anton has been doing to Kate all this time. The Masters were a brotherhood before Anton, now they don't trust each other. Anarchy Inc. is looking to take them down and you get some real surprises in this story. It's still a hot read, "Mine to please, mine to enjoy and mine to keep." The intensity is dialed up just as much in the third book as the first two books. I definitely enjoyed this three book series.
Whoa!! Talk about action packed!! Heart pounding and on the edge of your seat read!! Sansa Rayne takes you on a wild and chaotic black ops journey! Intense and full of angst and chaos! Reunited, Kate and Ingram take on a risky assignment bringing down the Masters while sparks ignite between them! Exciting would be an understatement! Fantastic book!!
I loved it... The exciting conclusion to a wonderful suspense filled trilogy. This is a very well written series that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. I couldn’t put it down. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Kate and Ingram blew me away. Following Kate's journey through kidnapping, psychotic and misogynistic men, and still retaining her sanity shows her incredible inner strength. I love reading about strong women who can still submit to their inner desires. This is a series that is fraught with tension and deception, and intrigue.
Hot damn the conclusion to Ingram and Kate's story was ELECTRIFYING! I'm talking chills running up and down your spine. Each time another book came out in this series it was darker more exciting then the previous one. I think the ending was ingenious.
Ingram and Kate's journey ends in this nail biting thrill ride. I absolutely loved how the trilogy wrapped up. So much turmoil, twists and turns, with a happy ending for most. Anton is the character I think is truly evil and I was excited to read what exactly would happen to him. The Masters are a secretive group and oh goodness, the secrets that get revealed are epic. I could not put this book down and I am happy that I endured the cliffhangers in book one and two because this book was everything I hoped for and more.
TRAINED is the gripping conclusion to Sansa Rayne's epic The Masters series. As with the previous two installments, Reckless and Disciplined, this was non-stop action, drama, thrill, spills, twists and turns, suspense and sexy heat. Told in multiple POVs, TRAINED is a book that cannot be put down.
Several months have passed since the ending of Disciplined. Ingram Dent has disappeared, and Kate Atwood is now in the possession of and under the control of Anton Ford. Anton uses Kate at every opportunity, he humiliates her both at work, where she loses all her journalistic credibility, and at home where he always keeps her locked in a cage. He has become her puppeteer and she is his marionette in all aspects of her life. He has made her reliant on him by cutting off everybody in her life and isolating her. Yet, Kate is strong, she's resilient, she fights back at every opportunity ... even if it is only to remain mentally strong.
There is a new threat in town though, a threat that is willing to fight Anton and destroy everything he has built. Anarchy Inc., are the terrorists or vigilantes? Who is leading them and why? How do they know so much about Anton and everything he does? Is Anton their only target, or are The Masters also in their line of sight? There are many surprises to be found within this group, the leader and the operatives who have been hired.
Sansa Rayne had me sitting on the edge of my seat from the very beginning of this series. TRAINED was the perfect finale. I was mesmerised by every word every action ... it was an addictive read. That ending though ... please tell me there is going to be more.
Amazing inner strength combats dark and dangerous dominance Phew! I can finally breathe! Completely spellbound and held just as captive as Kate as I read Trained: A Dark Romance (The Masters Book 3) by Sansa Rayne, the thrilling conclusion to this masterfully dark series. Throughout the series and especially in this book, Kate has had to call upon her never-ending well of inner strength, ultimately to survive, but also to understand and employ what Ingram’s loving discipline has been teaching her. It becomes a matter of self-preservation and salvation, a necessary boon to the strengths she already possessed, but never harnessed. The plot of this book pivots from the previous in the series and finally those little rays of hope become beaming beacons. Death comes a-knocking but not for Kate. I enjoyed the three character POVs, making this a true thriller as the plot thickens, obstacles are encountered and the antagonist becomes the antagonized. Overall, this gripping series conclusion is just as emotionally all-encompassing as the first two books with perspectives from three characters. It lives up to and embodies a 5+ star read for the plot too. Revenge, vengeance, avenging and saving Kate, in this case is not best served cold. For The Masters, it’s best served as a flaming red hot poker of a massive javelin of justice. It may truly be dark, the end result of justice, some may even say evil, but so deserved as it finally reunites Ingram and Kate for mastering the long, twisted and painful path back to each other once and for all, forever. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
✨✨ONE ALL-CONSUMING ADVENTURE✨✨ Howling hellhounds homer! Sansa didn't hold back, blink nor did she take any prisoners with this mind-blowing, high octane, enticingly combustible, sinfully addictive, skillfully enthralling, artfully evocative, earth quaking, rock-my-world, wicked rollercoaster, serving up some sweet revenge, ruthless payback and glorifying vengeance, blasting this incredibly scorching treat to staggering heights. Heartbreaking loss and determination descend in a flurry of self preservation, crawling through all the torment and torture, blowing this baby into the wind, teeming with nailbiting drama, gripping intrigue, underlying threats, brutal tactics, callous attrocities, spine tingling danger, electrifying suspense and nerve-racking situations ensue in epic proportions, cognizant of perilous twists and shocking turns unfolding, exposing the sinister quirks and vicious bents, futures are forged and battle lines are drawn, launching this bad boy to life spectacularly. The characters interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add depth and diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you're part of the story instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Fabulous job Sansa, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Thank you Sansa for sending us the final book in the masters series to read and review. We truely appreciate it.
So trained in the final instalment in the Masters series and picks up a few months after Kate was taken by Anton, after shooting Ingram.
Anton is using Kate as his revenge against Ingram who he believes he killed. Kate is his puppet/ clown and she has to do everything she is told or risk being killed.
When death shows up Kate sees a glimmer of hope. Hope that Ingram is alive and hope that she may get out of the hell she has been forced into.
This book takes on many twists and turns. Everytime you think nothing can happen seriously it can.
I enjoyed reading this book and am glad I got to read the series throughout. Truthfully for me though I was a little dissapointed. The other two books kept me gripped had plenty of steam, heat and action to keep you on the edge of your seat. I didn't get that with this book although there is a lot going on, it just didn't have the same impact as the first two books.
There are not many sexual scenes in this and although Kate is a prisoner and there are still some BDSM scenes it's not as much as previously. For me the ending was a nice ending but I just wanted more from it. What I will say though is please don't let that put you off. The book and series is truely an amazing read and deserves to be read.
My overall Rating 31/2 💋💋💋😘 My Passion Rating 2 💋💋
Wow the final book didn’t disappoint and is a must read!
This book picks up 8 to 9 months into what Kate has endured from Anton after Ingram is believed to be gone. This book was action packed and riveting. If you want something that will pull you into a chaotic world of revenge and world domination grab this book. I mean I couldn't put it down because I needed to know how it would end for these characters.
The author did an amazing job with the insights of Kate, Ingram, and Anton. You follow along months into where they all have been and how each character copes with the aftermath of book two's cliffhanger. We watch Kate struggle with her new normal and how she is by far the most strongest character in this series. She has been fierce and keeps her fighting spirit throughout her captivity. We see Anton slowly reveal how damaged he truly is and his need for revenge causes catastrophic consequences for him. We watch Ingram fight to balance his needs to right his wrongs and save Kate.
This author brought this world of powerful men who seek to rule the world as untouchables to its knees, by one female journalist willing to brave the injustice and fight them every step of the way. It's got so many different facets to this storyline that truly anyone can find what they need in this series. You get amazing characters with depth into this world of crime, you get a love story in the making, you get a revenge plot, and you get to finally see justice served.
I am voluntarily giving this review from an ARC I received with no obligation to review this book. I chose to give my honest opinion of this book/series. I highly recommend it if you like dark romance with a bit of the spy espionage/revenge plot. This whole series has twist and turns and this book carries the same themes. It's intense, addictive and never dull from start to finish. Grab it and get ready to dive into this riveting secret criminal world.

Trained is the third and final book in The Masters Trilogy written by Sansa Rayne. The second book in the trilogy left us with a huge cliffhanger. Seriously, like a massive cliffhanger! So, as soon as Trained appeared on my Kindle, I dropped everything and jumped right in! Also, in case you’re not aware, this series has a continuous storyline. Therefore, you’ll need to read the books in chronological order.
Trained starts roughly eight months after the end of the second book. Kate is completely at the mercy of Anton, but she dreams of a day where she’s free. Then Death, a new enemy, arises and threatens Anton and The Masters. He uses Kate to causes havoc, which results in Anton being on the defense for the first time.
Trained‘s storyline was gripping and full of twists and turns. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book! Oh, and let me tell you, I just love the ending!
The Masters Trilogy is a one-click, must-read, stay-up-late kind of series!
Kate’s life has become the subject of ridicule after the lies she’s been forced to tell, and her credibility as a reporter is a distant memory. In fact, these days she’s no better than a marionette, dancing to the whims of a demented puppet master – Anton Ford. And, with no hope for freedom anytime soon, it’s a good thing she’s been so very well trained.
I enjoyed the impact of Death’s emergence on Anton – feeding into his paranoia and creating self-doubts concerning his plans with the Masters. I was glad to see Kate rally once Anton’s focus had shifted from her somewhat, and that she did her best to keep him off balance. I loved how this twisty tale kept me guessing as to how the plot would and could eventually play out, and thought that Anton’s comeuppance was poetic!
This dark romance is well written, with plenty of anguish, suspense, some deception, and violence, along with some explicit encounters, featuring elements of BDSM. I enjoyed the unexpected appearance of Quinn Nolan, from “Enslaved”, and “Deadly” along with the hint as to how Kate’s future might unfold. I received an Advance Reader Copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a fantastic ending to this trilogy!! Although there was just one moment towards the end that was unbelievable you kinda look over that as the whole book is a thrilling suspenseful read. At first you wonder what happens from the end of the second book to the start of the third but it is revealed when needed. And actually not a moment to soon. Had it been revealed all that happened the story wouldn’t have been as successful as it was. This trilogy is the first books I’ve read by this author and I absolutely loved them! I have a new author to add to my list.
So intense and beautifully written. Kate is now under the control of Anton and boy does he have every bit of control over her. He continues to try and break her but she still holds on to a little bit of hope that she’ll get away from him and extract her revenge on those that wronged her and so many others. But then Death comes into play, can she rely on Death to help her or will Death just be another evil to content with.
So many edge of your seat moments! Great job Sansa!!
I received this as an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This is an amazing conclusion to an absolutely enthralling dark romance trilogy that really kept my attention (please note that that the storyline is spread over three books that has to be read in order to fully understand the story) The plot has good scene descriptions & it is very suspenseful with a “expect the unexpected” theme and the characters are realistically flawed & understandably some of them are bent on revenge. Naturally I will not give the plot away but I will say that this trilogy is definitely worth reading. There is: an intelligent strong-willed female journalist (Kate Atwood), a powerful secrets society/cabal (The Masters), a deadly assassin (Ingram Dent), a conniving villain (Anton Ford), law enforcement, twists & turns, drama, intrigue, suspense, action, schemes, mystery, deceit, betrayal, danger, threats, violence, villainous villains, manipulations, death, murder, torture, devious intentions, isolation, intimidation, defensiveness, confrontations, vengeance, justice & a satisfying conclusion.
Well timed, well paced, well written - well done from start to finish!
Wow! What an end! Each book in this series has been hot, action-packed, and unpredictable. If book one is the introduction and book two is the revelation, then book three is the resolution. Ingram might be gone, but all is not lost. Kate is constantly humiliated and isolated. She mostly accepts her fate but secretly holds out hope for the impossible. She suffers but she doesn’t break. The only thing I love more than a strong heroine is a good character arc. Kate has grown tremendously since her “Wild” days. She is still as passionate and fiery as ever, but wiser, more careful, and more disciplined. It was beautiful to watch. I found the third installment of this trilogy to be engaging, visceral, descriptive, well written, realistic, and utterly captivating. I appreciate the time spent developing the plot and not rushing to a hasty resolution. I couldn’t have asked for a better story or a better ending to this wonderful series. I miss Kate and Ingram already!
This is the first book by this author that I've read and I was pleasantly surprised. This author writes strong characters and gripping story line. I need to go back and read the other books in this series to fully appreciate the story. this is the story of Kate and Ingram, these two characters are really well written. This story is full of action and mystery and is a twisted and captivated suspense read. I will definitely be going to read more from this author, this book is so well written and has captured my interest fully.
After witnessing the horrific crash of Ingram’s jet into the ocean, with no body found, Kate remains owned and totally controlled by Anton through cameras and her bodyguards. It has been months since Ingram disappeared, yet she cannot force herself to abandon hope. Her life is a living hell---orchestrated by Anton. Since he can no longer take revenge out on Ingram, he makes Kate’s life a 24 hour nightmare.
Then, something happens! A new force calling himself Death begins to set out to destroy Anton. Will his methods work? Will he be able to save Kate and the Masters? Will he eventually destroy Anton?
I cannot recommend Sansa Rayne’s stories enough. She takes us on a journey with a sassy, outspoken young woman, who is able to avoid death by learning to become disciplined and well-trained for her Masters. This story is DARK and enthralling and yet filled with hope.
This is the third and final book in the story, and did it end up with a bang! Just wow. After the cliff hanger in the second book, I had no idea what to expect, or even who to expect to still be around. I shouldn't have worried, because no one and nothing is going to stop the formidable weapon that is Ingram. He is WWIII in human form. He is going to rescue Kate or die trying, and if he has to take the world down with him, then he will. Once again poor Kate has become a captive and is living a life of captivity and degradation. Not knowing if the man she loves is even alive, and with her friends life hanging over her head as collateral, she has no choice but to do what is demanded of her. Let the havoc begin! Great series.
A terrific ending to this three book series by Sansa Rayne. It continues the story of Ingram and Kate – beginning with the assumption that he had died at Anton’s hand in the conclusion of the second book, “Disciplined.” Her abuse at the hands of Anton and his cronies continues, but it turns out that Ingram is alive and the book is the exciting adventure of how they become reunited, and how they take on Anton and the other Masters. It’s the kind of story that is very hard to put down, and I enjoyed reading about all the characters, good and bad, who populated this very complex and interesting series. I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
