What an action packed rush!!
I was hesitant when I found out the 2nd book in this series was going to be with Mai because I didn't know if I liked her. She seemed a little hard core and angry, rightfully so. Also I liked Alien Tongues so much I was scared I would be let down by the second. But I must say I was wrong on both counts.
Though let's be perfectly clear, Mai is a one women killing machine. She has grit, she has heart, and she's tenacious as a pit bull. I know she's not real but she made me so proud to be a human; I was like, "that's right underestimate us, but we're scrappy and creative. Go get em, girl!" Mai has no patience or time for a boyfriend let alone a cosmic bond, but she doesn't have a choice.
Reza on the other hand was Mr. calm, cool, and collected. He really couldn't believe that things had gotten so bad with the separatists, that a full blown rebellion and coup was happening and he was watching his civilization go down the toilet. He intercepts Mai as she makes an emergency landing near his covert base, and he wants to get answers, since she's a human spy, about her involvement in what's happening, but the cosmic bond doesn't care much about that either.
Reza and Mai, light up like firecrackers every time they touch. They don't understand what's happening but they can't keep their hands off of each other either. Reza and Mai join forces to stop the separatists and try to save both the Lyran and Human races, all while having each other's back and fiercely fighting for their HEA and peace.
I really liked this one. It was a fast paced, action packed, thrill ride. Reza and Mia, like yin and yang, complimented each other so well in their differences and had crazy chemistry they could not deny. Great second installment to the series!

Mai is out for revenge because of her brother’s death. She is strong, independent and fierce. Reza is her perfect match but she despises him on site because he is a Lyra. The chemistry between the two cannot be denied but they are both fighting it. This story is action packed and a page turner. I can’t wait for more books in the series!!

So too much still happens off page. I really am annoyed that a lot of the foundational aspect of what launched this craziness and pushed it to spiral was happening off page and is barely explained so I knocked off a full star for that alone. 🤬

All of you know that enemies to lovers might be the trope I'm most apprehensive about it. But I'm incredibly happy to report that this one was done to perfection. This is a insta-lust (because of the cosmic bond) but do not be scared it is not insa-love. They get to know each other through saving each-other's life. When their bodies react from the cosmic bond trying to make them "bond" together, I loved their confusion, looking at their bodies and feeling betrayed that they were attracted to the last person they would of thought would be their soul mate. But then got proven wrong at every turn, learning how perfect for each other they were.

Alien Tongues was sooo good but this book is pure awesomeness on a whole new level!
Mai is an absolute badass! I loved how she managed to take advantage of every situation and opportunity. She’s strong, determined, unpredictable, resourceful, vicious and dangerous. I loved everything about her!
Reza is her perfect match in every way. He’s strong and honorable. And being a part of a race that is not used to intimacy and strong feelings, I loved reading about his inner turmoils.
I adored the development of their relationship - in the beginning the denial was strong and it took time for both to trust each other given they are such strong individuals. But their chemistry was out of this world and their attraction - undeniable. And that zero gravity scene was absolutely perfect and scorching hot!
Moreover, the conflict with the Separatists escalates to unexpected levels and there are serious threats and consequences.
I loved the vivid worldbuilding and that we got to read more about the connection between the humans and the Lyrans.
Overall, the story is another absolutely magnificent addition to the series. It’s filled with fast-paced action, danger, adventure, twists and turns, deliciously steamy romance and wonderful and badass characters!
I couldn’t put it down and loved every page of it!

Absolutely love Mai and Reka’s story, it’s got betrayal, lots of action, steamy scenes of course and a happily ever after ending.
Mai is on her way to Logos to collect her brothers belongings after he was killed when the embassy he was in was attacked. That’s he legitimate reason, she’s also going to find the persons who caused it and she will avenge her brothers death. When she’s near though the ship is is on is fired upon and crashes on Logos moons. There she is captured by commander Reka and taken to the military base. Unfortunately he thinks he’s been drugged, every time he touches Mai he gets overwhelming feelings of arousal and bliss. When Mai denies blowing up the ship she was on Reka does a bit of his own digging and he knows he needs to get Mai out of the base before the Separatists stage their coup. He’s too late and is stopped on his way to leave, he attacks them and so does Mai but there are too many to fight. The seize a rover on the river and flee. Now they must figure out who was behind Mai’s ship blowing up and why, to free the base and ultimately Logos from the separatists and more importantly why they feel the need to rip each other’s clothes off every time they touch.

This is an author who is new to me and I can say that this book, despite being the second in the series can be read as a standalone. You have all the information that you need to fully enjoy this and I don't believe that you miss anything by not having read the first book (which I haven't). Mai has slowly lost all of her family to the Lyra and with the final loss of her brother she is going to stop at nothing to permanently remove the one who killed him. Just as she is travelling to collect his effects the ship she is travelling on is shot out of the stars. When she crashes into the nearest planet the person who finds her is of the species she has sworn to hate but there is just something about him. Reza is aware that a ship has crashed just outside of his planet but what he doesn't know is why it happened. Now there is a human government agent running about and he wants to know why. He also wants to know what weapon it is that she is using on him that is making it very hard (cough cough) to think!

This well-written book 2 in The Cosmic Bonds Book Series was a enemies to lovers story that I really liked. It had very well crafted characters that worked well together. The story and characters entertained me throughout the story. The characters had unique personalities, interesting histories and believable interactions. I found this book engaging with great world building which made me feel apart of the story as it progressed. I got so lucky to be able to read an ARC of this book. The characters are gorgeous and the chemistry between these two is scorching hot. I could read about Mai and Reza all day. In fact, please, inject these two into my veins.
Mai is such a badass and I couldn't help but immediately love her and Reza is the perfect match for her in every way. They help each other grow in this beautiful, intense way and watching them fall in love is absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan of Chloe's and every one of her books seems to get better than the last.
Pick this enemies-to-lovers, mated-fates book up. You will not be disappointed.

What an action packed sexy read! It is fast paced from the beginning. The chemistry between these two is combustible even with the danger they find themselves in. I will absolutely be reading the other stories in this series.

I loved this exciting really well written story. It took two people aliens to each other with totally different perspectives on life and their worlds, the culture and place in it and threw them together in a huge conflict where they came together despite should have been enemies and were at first. This story had it all drama, excitement, suspense, danger, conflict, hope, redemption, awakening to new possibilities and ultimately lasting love. The characters and the alien world the author built was perfect. really well described and believable and the plot really draws u in holding your interest thru every page.

Reza and Mai are enemies, but they start to work together to avenge her brother's murder and to shut down the separatists and try to save both Lyran and human races. There are twists, turns, action, drama, steam, and more. The book is well paced, interesting, the characters are well developed. Overall a fast paced, alien action adventure. If felt like ages since reading the first in this series and was great to carry on with new and related characters. We meet Reza, Ronan's brother with different views on working with humans. Reza soon learns even those in his own circle can not be trusted. He finds Mai and soon has them both leaving to find those loyal. They have much to overcome and escape as they find their way to some safety. They still have his brother to deal with and despite Mai wanting to do the deed, it is Reza who does. Plus they have saved 'The Needle'! I look forward to the next book as events unfold.

I love it!
Mai is everything I'm looking for in any books, whether it be PNR or SFR. She can take care of herself and Reza lets her. She even saves him lots of times. Spice is up there and I love it. I love the plot and the conflicts. I also read RH and there are moments that I wish that she had both brothers (Ronan and Reza) as her own but oh well. RH ruined me. Mind you, this is M/F.
Highly recommended read! I have lost count on how many times I've noted badass on the book.
PS: I still mourned Reza's long hair with braids.

Book 1, Alien Tongues, was great, but this is a whole other level. Chloe is so good at building worlds and characters.
The characters are believable. The world is vivid. The connection between the characters is excellent. They have great chemistry. I live how we learn more about the Lyrians and their connection with humans.

I wanted a little more from the characters. Just a bit more from him - more strength or rigidity- and maybe a bit less from her - a flaw for the author to flaunt - just to really feel their connection and their story. But overall a captivating read which was well written and steamy!

Mai is determined to find the aliens who killed her brother so she goes to Logos but instead crash lands on Halla where she meets up with a Lyran operative Reza K’Lyr where they work together to bring down the killers. There’s plenty of action, adventure, suspense, danger, snark, passion and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. I loved this story and the characters and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This book was so hard for me to get into, I am not going to lie. It took several chapters to get into, which I'm sure a decent bit has to do with I never read the first one.
Once I was hooked I did enjoy the novel, the main character Mai is very much an embodiment of sass and I enjoyed her comebacks, as well as her fighting skill throughout the novel.

Once I was hooked I did enjoy the novel, the main character Mai is very much an embodiment of sass and I enjoyed her comebacks, as well as her fighting skill throughout the novel.

This story has a very different feel compared to Alien Tongues - darker, grittier, action-packed and battle-heavy. Mai and Reza are enemies who don’t even like each other, yet are somehow drawn to one another. I loved reading them bicker and battle both each other and their feelings. Mai is such a warrior, the post-script is so quintessentially her - starting to spar in order to talk about her feelings. This was one intense action-packed book.

The second book in the Cosmic Bonds series a story that kept me turning pages. Mai and Reza K’lyr's story of suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, villains, and romance. I enjoyed reading. This book is exciting adventurous and steamy hot.
It has many twists and turns I started it late planning
on a couple chapters but I finished it, It hooked me from the start .

loved it !!! love this series !!! love Mai and Reza... this is their story... a fast paced action packed story full of revenge. love Mai she's bada$$. Reza is Mr. cool. Cal , Mai's brother is killed and now Mai must find and punish his killers. twists and turns.. a coup and more... exciting !!!

I liked this book it was very plot driven but it was such an interesting read. It gave you a very complete backstory so you end up understanding to some degree the characters choices. It had a few twists I didn't see coming but it was well worth the time to read.

It was good. I liked how badass Mai is but it felt pretty unlikely and like a huge convenience happened every other page. Also both knew about cosmic bonds but had NO CLUE what was happening to them? Come on.
Sex was hot though.
Different peen. Alien. Push and pull. Fated mates. No cheating. No breakup. No OWD. Some OMD (MMC is jealous of a former partner). No pregnancy.

Enjoyable but....
This was enjoyable but not as good as Book 1, which I loved. Mai is not my favourite female by a long way but I thoroughly enjoyed Reza throughout the book.
