Heal from Within should be required reading for everyone! Katie not only teaches us how to tap into our own healing abilities and intuition, she also shares what she's learned as a licensed professional counselor. She's one of my very favorite intuitive mediums because she's brilliant, down-to-earth, heart-centered, and genuine. You'll instantly feel this when you crack open the pages of Heal from Within. I'll be turning to this incredibly well-written book weekly if not daily, for years to come. Thank you for sharing your gifts and your heart with the world, Katie!

Basically, as Beecher explains.. Traditional western medicine doesn’t have all the answers. But the good news is, many of those answers are actually within us.

So, listen closely to your intuition, and work with your chakras to find healing strategies for all areas of your health. The insights you gain during the process will give you everything you need for a happy, healthy life.

Creative activities are a great way to connect with your intuition. Beecher recommends soul painting – an exercise she uses to connect with clients and help them to heal. And don’t worry, no artistic ability is required. Simply ask your intuition a question, then draw or paint whatever comes to mind. Just follow your intuition and have fun. When you’ve finished, think about what the picture means to you.

---

Many physical health issues have emotional causes.

You’ll learn how to strengthen your intuition, what our Chakras have to do with our physical and emotional health, and the surprising benefits of a spiritual crisis. Just to be clear, we want to represent the content of the book faithfully and provide supplementary information, but if you have serious symptoms or conditions - please still see a doctor.

Alright. So. Let’s start with a real-life example of how our bodies can be affected by emotional issues.

In 2007, Katie Beecher - who wrote this book - was seriously stressed out. She was working hard, dealing with family problems, and feeling more and more anxious. It got to the point where she couldn’t even express herself creatively - which was a pretty big problem, considering she was working as a watercolor artist. But she did her best to suppress her feelings and carry on…

…until it got to the point where she just couldn’t anymore. All of a sudden, she began suffering from intense, debilitating abdominal pain. Her doctors did countless scans and medical exams, but they weren’t able to discover what was causing it.

Then, finally, her gynecologist spotted something – some kind of abnormality in Beecher’s uterus. They scheduled a hysterectomy.

Beecher and her gynecologist were both shocked/amazed by what they found. The surgery revealed that Beecher’s left fallopian tube and ovary were wrapped around her uterus.

How did that happen?

Beecher has come up with her own interpretation. In addition to being an artist, she’s also a licensed counselor and medical intuitive. She believes that the health conditions we experience often have emotional causes and symbolic significance.

In this case, intense stress and a creative drought coincided with her gynecological problems. And that’s no coincidence – the uterus is a source for all human life. Beecher’s emotional and creative struggles manifested themselves there, in the form of physical health problems.

In her personal life and in her career as a counselor, Beecher has witnessed many similar examples. People who’ve gone through stressful or traumatic experiences often end up suffering from a whole range of health conditions – from migraines …. to Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

To a certain extent, Western Medicine can provide answers and healing for these conditions.

But for some patients, particularly in the United States, going to the doctor can be a frustrating experience: Appointments are often brief, and a patient is given a “quick fix” … like a prescription that may not even resolve the problem.

The doctor is so focused on the patient’s symptoms that they neglect the root. What’s the cause of the illness? That’s what we really need to know in order to heal.

When physical health problems are rooted in emotional issues, they can’t necessarily be cured by the current approach.

But that doesn’t mean they can’t be cured. Far from it. In fact, we can actually heal ourselves, and make full recoveries…. even from serious conditions.

And healing starts from within.

---

You can use chakras to heal yourself.

Okay. So…so far we’ve learned that physical health problems often have emotional causes, and that intuition can be used for alternative methods for healing.

But that still leaves us with the big question – how? How can we use intuition to heal ourselves?

According to Beecher, it’s all about chakras.

The concept of chakras has been used in Eastern religions for centuries. Essentially, chakras are points where the physical and spiritual body connect. There are seven in total, aligned vertically from the spine to the head.

When Beecher starts working with a new client, she begins with a chakra interpretation, in order to understand what issues need to be addressed.

Each chakra corresponds with a part of the body and specific issues. For the sake of time, we’ll focus on the 7th, or crown chakra on the top of your head, the 3rd chakra, found in the gut, and the 1st chakra, which is also known as the root chakra and located at the bottom of your spine.

And these three examples do provide a good understanding of how Chakras correspond with emotional and physical symptoms, and how we can use that knowledge to heal ourselves…but of course, they don’t cover everything.

Many things - from asthma to thyroid issues, headaches, or even trauma - these are all associated with other chakras. If you want to find out more, or are curious about a particular ailment - you can look into how the emotional or physical things you’re experiencing align with the specific chakras.

Once you’ve tapped into your intuition and got to grips with the chakras, you’re set up for a lifetime of self-healing.

---

Use the 7th chakra to work through issues affecting your overall physical or emotional health.

Breakdown or breakthrough? For Carl Jung, it was both. In 1913, he was under immense stress both personally and professionally. He began to hear voices, and suffer from disturbing visions, like Europe flooded in blood.

This might sound like a mental breakdown. But Jung didn’t see it that way. He listened to his intuition and worked with his thoughts, writing everything down during waking trances.

The result was a book, entitled The Red Book. Although it wasn’t published until 2009, Jung’s ideas have been hugely influential, shaping the world of psychology and self-help.

And while Jung didn’t live to see the book’s impact, just the experience of writing it was cathartic. It allowed him to regain control of his life, and access important spiritual knowledge.

Many scholars believe that Jung’s visions of a bloodsoaked Europe were a premonition for the violence that began a year later, with the First World War.

Jung’s experience was intense, but it wasn’t that unusual. Many people go through a kind of spiritual crisis at some point in their lives. And…that doesn’t necessarily mean apocalyptic visions, by the way. Feeling overwhelmed or intensely anxious are typical symptoms of a period of spiritual crisis.

If any of this sounds familiar, you should focus on the 7th chakra – the one at the top of the head.

This chakra is kind of like the “big picture.” When Beecher works with clients, she uses the 7th chakra to get an overview of someone’s physical, emotional and mental health.

Jung’s story is just one example of a 7th chakra issue. As well as spiritual or emotional problems, this chakra is also associated with chronic illness, fatigue, and health problems affecting the whole body. Symbolically, the 7th chakra is linked to the head, but it also emphasizes the connectedness of the entire body.

If you find yourself struggling with any 7th chakra issues, whether they’re physical, mental or emotional in nature, here’s what to do.

First, consider getting support from an open-minded professional who will help you to find the root cause of your problem. You might try mindfulness practices, Kundalini yoga or meditation to reconnect with yourself.

You could also keep a journal, try art therapy, or pay extra attention to your dreams to understand what’s truly important to you.

And above all, trust yourself and listen to your intuition. That’s what Jung did, with great courage. And you can do the same.

---

Use the 3rd chakra to understand the connection between past stress and present health problems.

The 3rd chakra can also provide valuable insight into our emotional issues.

This chakra is all about the gut – a particularly sensitive part of the body. The gut is sometimes called “the second brain” because there’s so much going on there.

It’s where many of our emotions are picked up, processed, and even created. Gut bacteria make neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, which influence our mood.

Then consider the fact that there are about five hundred million neurons in your gut, which are directly connected to your brain through the nervous system. There are literally millions of connections between your physical and emotional health.

So if you have symptoms in the 3rd chakra such as bowel issues, weight problems or an eating disorder, you need to find out what’s going on. What’s the root cause?

Interestingly, Beecher has noticed that 3rd chakra symptoms are some of the most common issues for her clients. And there’s a pattern – the majority of these people have had difficult childhoods, or experienced some kind of trauma.

Traumatic past experiences can have a major impact on our health. The psychiatrist Bessel van der Kolk has written about this in his book The Body Keeps the Score. He makes a convincing case: our bodies remember past stress and trauma, and express physical symptoms years after the event.

3rd chakra symptoms are a clear message from your body. You need to take care of yourself physically and emotionally in order to heal.

For example, you can address weight issues by eating healthily and intuitively. Or if you’re concerned about your gut health, try balancing your bacteria with probiotics, and drink plenty of water.

But whatever your symptoms, make sure you find ways to release stress - and address the emotional side of what you’ve experienced. Because if you don’t…you can be sure that your body will hang on to it.

---

Use the 1st chakra to return to your roots, and deal with any dysfunctional family relationships.

One more chakra remains. It’s time to look at the 1st chakra, located at the base of the spine.

As you may remember, this is also known as the “root chakra,” which means…yes, you guessed it. It’s all about our roots – our home and family.

If you’re experiencing issues in this chakra, resolving them should be a priority.

Think of it this way. If you don’t have basics like food or shelter, you’ll be so stressed out that it’s basically impossible to think of anything else.

And it’s the same with root chakra emotional issues. Until you deal with them…you’re unlikely to have the energy to heal in other areas, or contemplate things like spiritual growth or life purpose.

So as part of your healing, make sure you consider the 1st chakra very carefully. Common physical symptoms that come up with this chakra include skin sensitivity and autoimmune disorders. Emotional concerns, on the other hand, often involve dysfunctional family relationships.

No matter what’s in your past - your family is part of your roots. Your upbringing and your family relationships can impact various aspects of your health. Something to consider as well, is that family dysfunction can cross generations, and may even alter DNA through epigenetics.

That means that potentially, a trauma experienced by your grandparent, might still influence your behavior or emotional experience.

But there are different solutions, depending on your relationship to your family and past. It might help to set healthy boundaries with difficult family members, or remove yourself from their negative energy. And you should absolutely make your mental health a priority, and get help if necessary.

That could be in the form of therapy, or support groups like Adult Children of Alcoholics.

Once you’ve found ways to deal with these issues, it will become easier to heal in other areas too.

So listen to your body and look after yourself. No matter what you’ve gone through, you can heal and thrive.

A beautiful guide to holistic wellness!

Incredible book for anyone new or experienced in holistic wellness - this book offers something for all. I read the entire book quickly because I couldn't put it down, and now can't wait to go back and deep dive into certain parts further. I found Katie's unique medical intuitive perspective so interesting on topics I've studied and read about previously (like the chakras), and loved how she how she weaved all her personal and professional experiences into this great reference for all to use.

UPDATE: After reading the book and practicing some of the tools in it, I booked a personal intuitive reading with Katie to dive even further into areas I was still questioning and unable to get answers through conventional medicine methodologies. This was a big step for me to make this kind of personal investment in myself (serious root chakra issues at hand!) but felt guided to do so. Prior to my session, I re-read the book, and got a much deeper perspective on how Katie truly poured her heart and soul into creating this publication. Through a combination of the book and my personal reading, I now have new aspects of health to explore based on her suggestions, along with a renewed sense of spirit, validation and direction for moving forward. Besides her spot-on accuracy regarding so many aspects of my chakra chart, she is so authentic and genuinely cares about helping people get to the root cause of their health issues. I'll be forever continuing to reference and revisit her book, and highly recommend it to all!

I learnt so much about the Author in Heal From Within and I loved how she shared her own personal stories, along with her clients.

I found it so interesting and fascinating to learn about the Chakras as I didn’t really know much about them prior, I also loved how she included the physical symptoms that is related to them and how she dives into helping you to become more Intuitive, Spiritually, Emotionally and Psychically aware of what is going on within.

I felt it was like doing a session with her as she offered loads of self reflection questions, writing prompts.

Goop & Mirander Kerr’s websites have featured Katie’s work~ so as I know that both founders love a more holistic approach to health and are so open to healing not being a one size fits all, I just had a gut feeling it was going to be such a great read.

I absolutely love the title - Heal From Within, the book cover colours, and the very empowering read and guide.

Disclaimer: I received this book as a PR Media gift as I am a book podcast host, but after reading the book and also interviewing the author, I am sharing what I think.

In today’s high-stress, fast paced world, it can be very easy to become trapped in one’s own head. For me, personally, I felt constantly consumed by worries and anxieties, losing touch with my body over time. I had a habit of treating physical ailments as inconveniences to be dealt with without much thought. Heal from Within is a great resource for anyone looking to reconnect with their body and make a change for the better. It helped me learn to listen to what my body/ intuition was trying to tell me instead of telling my body to keep silent and do what I think it should do.

Best purchase of the year!
Being a fan of Dr John Sarno and the mind body connection this book jumped out to me on Amazon. Heal from within - yes please! This book makes you delve deep within yourself and piece together the root causes of your chronic pain. It looks at the emotional, physical and spiritual effects and how the trifecta affects your chakras. The book is easy to read and felt therapeutic. It reads like a workbook, but it also makes you test your medical intuitiveness with case studies, so you really get to understand what you’re learning, taking in and then applying to your own health issues. It also has a diagnosis of body symptoms, and how to work on bringing that part back into balance, heal and move forward. There are great tips on health, nutrition, workouts and medical information. I recommend this book to everyone every chance I get! It’s one of those self-help books that’s like a health bible you’ll reach for first, and try to figure out what’s going on with you in mind-body and soul. It’s not only helped me in my healing journey but I finally see recovery in sight. Thank you!

I’ve learned so much from this book! It is different from any book about health or wellness I have ever read and it beautifully links body, mind and spirit. I had to read it slowly because every page resonated.

I loved all of the inspirational stories and interactive tools, especially for connecting to intuition and creating my own intuitive soul painting. This book is not about quick fixes or one size fits all protocols, it is about individualized healing and being our true selves. People looking for quick and easy answers or who don’t understand that there are physical, emotional and spiritual root causes for our problems and issues may not understand or enjoy it.

I did not understand some of the other reviews especially the one that mentioned coffee enemas. It was mentioned in half of a sentence under possibilities to ask your health care providers about during detoxing.

This is a book I will keep forever, re-using the tools and exercises as I grow and heal. Highly recommended

Katie has touched my soul with “Heal from Within “.
She maps out the process of healing brilliantly with a step by step process of discovery of one’s self. Each time I move to another Chakra, my intuition puts the brakes on as I discover another layer of discovery. I started feeling a little “stuck” with the time it was taking to move through the chapters then as if a call from my spirit guides, Katie messaged me to ask how things were going. I have much gratitude for this important work and look forward to “peeling the layer’s off” to discover what’s next. I look forward to having a private reading with this insightful, loving healer. Bless you Katie with love and light! 🐻❤️🙏

Is 'Heal from Within' a guidebook or a mirror?

I would say both/and.

Grateful to add this book to my resource library (and an extra copy for my family as well!). I went on a whole journey of empowerment with this book. Looking back now, I know it was absolutely intuitively guided. I felt inspired to carve out sacred space to cozy up to read it only during my morning alignment rituals. It felt like a meeting with my soul where I felt safe to get back to basics, ground into my body, and nurture a revival of Soul + Self.

The reflection prompts provided in conjunction with each chakra allowed me to deepen my own processes and gain clarity with a few of my own ego-driven or fear-based patterns. This in itself is invaluable to me as it has allowed me to remember and begin to call my power back, leaning into an energy of self-trust that I've felt I've been missing for years.

Two paragraphs I would love to highlight:

"I have heard far too many stories of patients who were not taken seriously when they told their doctors that they were sick. They were ignored when they asked for more in-depth testing and ridiculed when they asked about things like Lyme disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, vaccine reactions, rare diseases, autoimmune diseases, or vitamin deficiencies. Far too often they were told that their issues were psychological and psychiatric medications were prescribed. They later learned that their conditions were physical, not emotional, but it often took years to get a proper diagnosis.

I believe we need to take a different approach, which I call 'patient-based root cause medicine.' This approach puts the patients' needs first, rather than insurance company profits. It works by actually listening to patients and figuring out what is truly happening and devoting sufficient time and energy to addressing all possible causes, whether they be physical, emotional, or spiritual."

I also felt incredibly heard and seen by Katie, as she teaches on so many points that I see reflected in my own experiences (and of my loved ones). A few examples:
-being highly sensitive/empath
-psychic feeling and knowing (+ more!)
-the loop of anxiety and depression and the entire second half of the book with its overview of conditions and words of insight.

Now that I've finished the book, I'm taking a holistic look at the inner workings of my life and where I'm putting my energy. I feel a bit like a child approaching their first day of school orientation- excited, nervous, and anticipating what feels like a new start as I map out what my days and weeks (etc) could look like when I get clear and intentional with FUN ways to move and nourish my body and soul.

Thankful for the inspiration, guidance, love, and devotion put into this mirror of a book.

( And for a renewal of my curiosity and fascination with Carl Jung! :D )

This book will help your mind, body and soul. It is not a quick fix and isn’t an answer for someone looking to take an herb or simply change their diet. It goes deep - showing you how to detect the root causes of your issues and gives you individualized step by step plans for how to address them. Health and wellness take commitment - it doesn’t happen overnight. There are so many valuable tools, exercises and resources in the book. Go at your own pace.

In addition to this, there is also an extensive index in the back to look up the things you want to address. It is a reference I will refer to again and again.

I have so many health issues and I was able to find help for all of them in this book. Not just physical problems but emotional too, things I’ve been struggling with for years. The index in the back is really helpful for looking up what you want to work on. This book is different from anything else I’ve ever read.

It isn’t just about health. It also gives you tools and insight for being your true self, improving your relationships, setting healthy boundaries and figuring out your career path. Love the stories about the authors own life and the clients she has helped.

Highly recommend. I love that the author is a medical intuitive and licensed counselor. I have learned so much about myself, my body and how to heal and be well, information I have not found in any other book. I will continue to use the techniques and tools in this book to help myself and to help the clients I see as a psychologist. Love that the author included the stories of her amazing healing from bulimia, depression and lyme disease. Her family stories were both sad and funny.

Nah thanks. Authors back story seems a little odd. Also could have been done in far less pages. A little
Booklet if you will. It could read “western medicine bad. A simplistic view of Eastern Medicine good.”

There are much better books.

In Heal from Within, Katie Beecher—a licensed professional counselor and medical intuitive—offers a deeply personal and empowering guide to holistic healing. Drawing from her own experiences with trauma, she presents a step-by-step approach to wellness that integrates physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

The reason I purchased this book is because it’s structured around intuitive self-assessment, encouraging one to explore the root causes of their ailments rather than just treating symptoms. This book offers tools like journaling, meditation, chakra work, and symbolic painting to help connect you with your inner wisdom. I also liked that her approach is grounded in Jungian psychology and spiritual guidance, making it both introspective and practical.

What I loved about this book is Katie Beecher’s compassionate tone and the accessibility of her techniques. She shares not only her own healing journey but also those of her clients, which adds authenticity and relatability. The glossary of conditions and tailored treatment suggestions makes this a valuable reference for anyone seeking a more intuitive path to wellness.

While some may be skeptical of the spiritual aspects, the approach isn’t dogmatic. Instead, she invites readers to explore what resonates with them, making this book suitable for both seasoned spiritual seekers and newcomers alike.

This book is a heartfelt and insightful guide for anyone looking to take control of their health through self-awareness and intuition. It’s now a go to book for me and one I know I’ll refer to repeatedly.

I have recommended this book to so many people and they all thank me. I found it helpful to begin with reading the introduction and How to Use This Book sections. This isn’t a book that you read through quickly or just read once and put away. There is so much information that I found myself highlighting constantly as I progressed. It is profound. I did some of the exercises as I went along and went back to do some of the others later. I’ve never done anything like these before so they were very helpful and eye opening. It was helpful to have a chapter on each chakra, with specific information for the parts of the body and symptoms that were bothering me the most but I also learned a lot from creating my own medical intuitive chart to put all of my issues together.

This book is very different from any other health or self help book I have read before. There is SO much information that it could easily be several books. Loved hearing about the authors and other people’s inspirational experiences, but the best parts were all of the practical tools and advice for connecting to intuition and improving my physical and emotional health. Highly recommended! I have both the audio and book form, which is helpful since it’s a book I keep going back to over and over again.

I will start by apologizing to the author and the publisher for entering this giveaway.

I am definitely not the target audience and I would do them a disservice by rating it with my honest opinion.

Bottom line, there is some good advice here that is common sense, but most of it just isn't.

I can not, in good conscience, recommend it to anyone.
