Jett Thacker #1

Tiffany Lynn Is Missing

Rate this book
A young Florida woman goes missing; everybody believes she is dead. They even have a body at the morgue that her mother identified as her.

But the mother keeps getting letters from the daughter saying “Don’t worry, and don’t look for me.” They are in the deceased girl’s handwriting and there’s even a DNA match - but the body at the morgue is definitely her.

With their missing persons case resolved and the corpse showing no sign of foul play, police close the investigation – so the brash young investigative TV reporter Jessica Eve Tims-Thacker aka "Jett" is retained to find out why the strange letters keep coming. Is it part of a kidnapping plot gone wrong, a cruel joke by an anonymous prankster, an extortion scheme to drive the mother insane - or something much more sinister?

I loved this book by Dan Alarorre!!

The characters were not only entertaining, they were actually believable and very well developed. I can’t wait to see the support characters come to the forefront of Dan’s future work.

There was a couple of twists in this book that I absolutely did not see coming and I know that you will enjoy them!!!

Dan really sucked you in and pulled you into this story! The back story that Dan gave the uncle in this book I didn’t see coming at all!

I definitely had my expectations of who I thought was involved, who it was but the way Dan throws in a TWIST at the very end that you don’t see coming!!

Highly recommend this mystery/suspense read! It’ll be hard for you to put down!

What a great start to a new series. Dan never disappoints. Well written, with the characters coming alive on the pages of this book. Full of suspense, twists and turns and even a touch of romance. A gripping page turner. Can Jett and Aaron find out what really happened to Tiffany Lynn? They have questions but nobody wants to talk. Why does her mother keep putting up barriers to find the truth? What secrets is she hiding? Well worth your time. Recommend. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary honest review.

This is a must read! I loved how many secrets to the mystery that came out through the whole story. It kept the suspense going throughout & made it unpredictable. Even with five kids, it was near impossible to put down, & I had it read within two evenings.

This is an excellent read. Between sorting out all the subplots and a feign to the left and to the right again and again and a multitude of possible suspects, this was fun to read. And I still didn't figure out what was going on until the end. Dog Gone It. It had a great ending. I read it in one fell swoop and didn't notice the time. It is now the middle of the night.

I really do not understand the high ratings for this book. It was way too long and descriptive to the point of being boring. The ending was predictable and also ridiculous. Twins are not common enough for it to be likely that a set of twins both produced their own twin daughters. I was able to skip whole paragraphs and pages, only reading conversations and not miss out on any details for multiple chapters and I never skip anything in books. I would have DNFed the book if it weren’t for a book club.

Nearly the first 20% was prior to the story even getting started. Perhaps because the writer is a man, every female character of importance was blond and the main one slept with two random strangers within a three-day period. She also made unlikely decisions but the twist/ending was as good as it could be under the circumstances.

This book is so engrossing that you’ll be trying to read it in one sitting. This is one of Alatorre’s finest. You get pulled in by the shirt collar. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, you find out you have no idea. Can’t wait for Jett’s next exploit.

Great Lead Character and an Intense Story

Over the past couple of years, I have been introduced to and become a big fan of Dan's work, and his newest Book "Tiffany Lynn Is Missing" is one of his best.
This story is full of interesting characters, both good and bad, and while the good ones are trying to uncover the truth, the bad ones are trying even harder to keep it under wraps.
The main character, Jett, is a great central figure, and the relationship she has with her co-worker, Rico is awesome. Jett is a very compassionate person in this book and is also a strong female role model. Jett goes from the next big thing in Miami TV, to fired and falsely trashed by her station. The silver lining from that leads to her being hired for some investigation work, which is right up her alley, as she started as an investigative reporter. The story takes off from there and the people she meets and must deal with takes us readers on a wild ride.
As with Dan’s other books, there are a lot of twists and turns while trying to figure out who did what to who, and what is the end game. He had me stumped and the way he tied it all together in the end was extremely well done. This book was really hard to put down, and I found myself staying up too late reading, when I should have already been asleep!
I was a Beta reader of this book for the author.

A family's rise from abject poverty leads to an "accidental" death of a young woman - 4.5 stars

Florida daytime TV personalities and business dealings come in sharp contrast. Glamorous women have to put up with a lot to get ahead. One tries to be above it all and the other gets cut from her job.

It takes a while to see where the story is going. By then, someone has died and "muscle" has been applied to keep people from talking. By the time you get to know the players, it is too late to back down. Knowing who to trust is not clear until close to the end.

Television is a lot about star power and backroom deals. Because there is a lot of money on the line, some people try to find out what others are thinking making the tech guys a very important part of the action.

This novel features the supporting cast including some very young women trying to navigate the adult world of half-truths and inadequate supervision.

A survival adventure during a Colorado snowstorm is a memorable pulse-raising trek. A really good live-action streaming episode brings closure to only half of the mystery. There is more. Get the full story; read this book.

Wow! A perfect series starter!

Jessica “Jett” Thacker promises to be a rising new TV star with her program The Jett Set. That all falls apart when two of her guests start a riot on live TV, resulting in her firing and the subsequent trashing of her professional reputation by her ex-employers. Investigative reporters need a platform and without a job or an agent anymore, Jett’s future is grim.

Ashley Wells may be a “Darling” to her television audience but behind the scenes she is cold, cruel, and calculating. It takes her daughter’s disappearance to crack her hard exterior. Both Ashley and her brother Aaron have been searching for Tiffany Lynn for several weeks. Aaron is willing to pay whatever it takes to uncover the truth about what led to his niece’s disappearance and he knows just the investigative reporter to find it.

This is a well-written thriller from page one. Dan Alatorre is a master of suspense and intrigue and crafts each page to build to a startling conclusion. I devoured this book and I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary. This is an excellent book!

This is a great story that will pull you into it right away! It has a young woman that is killed and her body is in the morgue. Her mother IDs it and then has it cremated. It had the same DNA but letters keep coming to the mother saying she’s all right and signed by her daughter. The writing is her daughters and they have DNA that matches too! She’s wants to know what’s going on and so does her brother. They hire Jett to investigate to find out what’s going on as she’s a investigator. Can she find out what all of these different situations mean? Will the girl be alive? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Without giving too much away this book was an interesting ride. Multiple POVs with majority being between two. Per the normal thriller track there is. Pretty big twist, more than one that change the course. Only compliant was the inner dialog. To me it felt that the book would have been better without. Everyone has their own opinion of it though. Great story! Great read. Really enjoyed.

Absolutely Gripping!

Tiffany Lynn is Missing, is by far the most brilliant Mystery Thriller I have ever read. I found myself hooked by the first chapter.

The mystery level in this book was just incredible. I felt like my brain was going to explode trying to piece it all together. I didn't once lose interest in the plot and I definitely would read this again to try and find the clues.

I can confidently say that I did not see all the plot twists coming and I definitely couldn't have imagined the ending, even if I tried. It was so well done and it built so much anticipation that I started feeling nervous and stressed for what's about to happen.

I loved all the characters. Especially Aaron and I loved how Jett described him when she first met him. You knew without a doubt that he was an attractive man and he had a very different side to him. I was instantly hoping something would happen between them and it was definitely so rewarding!

Jett is such a bad ass and I love her tenacity and bravery throughout the book. I wish she was a brunette though... It just feels more fierce!

I feel like a broken record each time saying how great Dan Alatorre's books are BUT there just really isn't anything like this out there.

Tiffany Lynn is Missing was filled with so much mystery, secrets, lies, and heart wrenching sadness but it also had amazing moments of laughter and love and I loved that!

I love it when a book drops twists in your lap and leaves your jaw on the floor!
This book was no exception and Dan Alatorre is one that to keep an eye out for with his twisty and suspenseful books that will have you locked and loaded from the first chapter to the last! My only regret is that I didn't get a chance to read this sooner!

Hooks you from the start and you won't want to put it down!
After a disastrous episode of her tv show, investigative reporter Jett is fired and her reputation is trashed. She receives a job offer she can't refuse; Aaron Wells wants her to investigate his niece's disappearance. Although reluctant,  he offers her 50 grand to hear him out.
What follows is a thrilling read full of suspense,  twists and some great characters. This was an awesome start to a new series.

I loved this book. It has a kick-ass heroine, an investigative reporter who admit that she runs toward the bullets to get the story, a plot that has more twists and turns than a Colorado hiking trail, a villain you'll hate more the more you find out about them, a little romance and a healthy dose of justice served by the time the tale draws to a close.
If you're a mystery fan who loves following the threads to the end of the trail, you'll probably love this one as much as I did.

Tiffany-Lynn Is Missing: a psychological thriller (A JETT THACKER MYSTERY Book 1), my tenth read from prolific author Dan Alatorre. In this, the first book in Alatorre's new Jett Thacker mysteries, a page-turning thriller that takes off in the opening pages & never lets up! A pedal-to-the-metal, hair-raising, spine-tingling thriller! Alatorre has really found his groove. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A family from poverty to owning multi-million tv networks and resorts, A missing daughter and a feisty investigating reporter leads to dark, deadly family secrets coming to light. A brother and sister as opposite as can be finally coming head to head. The bottom line is money and fame. The twists and turns will leave you stunned and wanting more! I can't wait until the sequel comes out!

The intriguing mystery of Tiffany Lynn

I enjoyed reading this book by the very versatile author, Dan Alatorre. Apart from being a page turner which is difficult to put down, this book is suspenseful with amazing twists and totally unpredictable. Ashley and Aaron are twins but she is full of herself while he is other centred. Ashley's daughter, Tiffany Lynn goes missing but it is Aaron who enlists the help of investigative journalist, Jessica Thacker to find out more. Ashley is not pleased. Instead of co-operating, why is she hampering Jessica's investigation? Odd. Jessica and Aaron do not give up their quest despite death threats. Dark secrets come to light in this rivetting mystery. Highly recommended for its originality.
