Gu Wei, the popular yet controversial lead dancer of boy band T.ATW.
Jiang Xun, a god-tier professional esports player.
One day, after a certain variety show aired, these complete strangers became a trending topic together.
Gu Wei’s Anti-Fans: Do these two have anything to do with each other? Gu Wei is absolutely shameless. He’ll try to leech fame off anything that moves, even esports legends. Ignore him, ignore him!
Fans of Jiang Xun’s Technique: If our God Xun wanted to, he could buy this whole country. If he’s playing around with some nameless celeb, he’ll just play until he gets bored and moves on.
But before long, an unexpectedly heated controversy sparked around the two:
Jiang Xun slacks off during a livestream to promote a celebrity!
Jiang Xun’s little brother Jiang Ying says he’s being forced to defend his nemesis Gu Wei against anti-fans!
Gu Wei, Jiang Xun… a shocking affair?!
Netizens: ???
The two do have talks of an engagement brewing between them, but it wasn’t Jiang Xun who Gu Wei fell for first… it was Jiang Xun’s reaction memes.
When Jiang Xun first met Gu Wei, he came away with the impression that Gu Wei was his diehard fan. He never would have imagined Gu Wei was only a fan of his memes.
Gu Wei: Ge… I think your reaction memes are better looking than you.
Jiang Xun: Little Gu, you’re a little rebel, aren’t you?
Then, affection gradually began to grow between the two. Gu Wei finally mustered up the courage to confess his feelings to Jiang Xun.
Gu Wei: Jiang Xun, I think I’ve started to ship us.
Jiang Xun, fiercely: You’re late. I’ve already become your stan.
This the story of Gu Wei, the popular yet controversial lead dancer of boy band T.ATW and Jiang Xun, a god-tier professional esports player.
This was a fast read for me. I love that this book has acting, esports, variety show and live streaming elements on it. I love books with live streaming on it because they will always show the real time comments of the viewers. Also same in variety shows. These will add humor on the story and a source of laughs or giggles for me.😁
Our main couple is cute and very shippable, as what their fans are claiming on the first part.😂
There are heavy parts too that deals with past trauma and online bullying experienced by Gu Wei. I love the fact that Jiang Xun is always there for the rescue. Also let's not forget Gu Wei's fans that calls themselves hedgehogs.❤
I love Jiang Xun's brother, he's a cute(?) character.😅 Also Gu Wei's bandmates are hilarious.😁
I enjoyed reading this one. It was just smooth and fluffy with just bits of conflicts here and there. There are few one dimensional characters though, mostly villains.
So much fluff, I might die from all this sweetness. Quite a bit of secondhand embarrassment in the beginning, but I laughed so much. So. Much. Loved all the characters. Definitely hope to read more by this author~~
I started to read this without acknowledging it 🙈. I just wanted to check out the first chapter to see if it was any good. Two hours later someone called me, and I noticed that I was already at 40% of the story. I finished it in less than 36 hours!! I don't know how!!! I was absorbed by the amazing plot. I enjoyed it so much 😫. One of the best danmei from the entertainment industry that I have read 👌. It needs more recognition!
Bueno, bueno, bueno...
Algo que debo aclarar es que solo leí este libro porque después quiero leer 你的黑料比本人可爱 Your Scandals Are Way Cuter Than You , y ahora no puedo esperar. JIANG YING, I LOVE YOU. I'M YOUR SHADOW NOW. - Traducción: Mis respetos a 78zaotl.
My social anxiety ass could never. Maybe, pero de una forma o de otra, he's way too naive and clumsy for me. MAYBE HE REACTED LIKE THAT BECAUSE HE DIDN'T KNOW JIANG XUN THAT WELL AND HE WAS ACTING WAY TOO INTIMATE.
And I think that's pretty much it. Lo recomiendo, supongo. Simplemente no fue mi cup of tea.
This was a light and fluffy read. I basically finished reading it in a day and a half because it was such an easy read and didn't require me to use any extra braincells or energy to figure out the plot.
Gu Wei (MC) was cute and naïve to the point that it was kind of hilarious. I mean, he had a sad childhood and his experiences shaped him into someone that was afraid of intimacy and he never let himself get close to anyone, always keeping things to himself and shouldering everything on his own even though he had his teammates. On the other hand, Jiang Xun (ML) was a massive pervert who liked to teade GW but he had genuine feelings for our MC and diligently took care of GW.
For the most part, I liked how JX always protected GW and by being together, GW was finally able to feel what it was like being loved and he could break out of his past and grow into the amazing person he was destined to be. But there were some parts in the novel that made me go 😐 and they were when JX and GW were being more intimate with each other. To me, it felt like GW was being taken advantage of almost, because he wasn't well-versed in these matters so JX took his chances whenever he got it.
And the way GW's medical records were so easily shared to JX from his mother made me feel shocked too. Like I know this is a work of fiction and JX asked his mother for GW's medical records because he only wanted to help him deal with his past but how is that even ethical. Instead of asking GW personally, he basically went behind his back to obtain information about GW's past..
Anyway, I really liked the side characters in this novel, especially Jiang Ying, Yi Qing and the crumbs that are GW's teammates. Jiang Ying was funny as he underwent the transformation of being GW's nemesis to his brother in law and I'm really interested to read about him more in the sequel. Yi Qing was super badass and I liked how the author made her this intelligent and successful person who was also a fangirl. I kinda wish that the author gave us more interactions between GW and his band mates because they were honestly a riot and were so funny together.

Sweet but without any real depth. Still, it cracked me up a lot and I admit to finding Gu Wei's repeated blunders hilarious. There's definitely some super sketch stuff happening in there though with Jiang Xun's actions (the medical records! wtf, seriously, seriously wtf!) but I don't think this story was really meant to be taken seriously in any way, shape, or form. It also relies on the whole 'love cures mental illness' nonsense though maybe not quite so blatantly as some other things I've read. Still, I had a lot of fun reading this story and it made me laugh a lot. I'm excited to read the sequel because younger bro Jiang Ying has my favorite kind of energy.
Jiang Ying is the best part. I think the main couple is sweet but it resolves too easily—there’s really no reason for them not to be together except the shou being embarrassed. The entertainment world, the internet culture, and the side characters are all really funny though. A nice, quick read. Great translation too.
I decided to read this purely because the title made me laugh. I love both e-sports and entertainment industry stories, so this seemed like a promising combo of the two.
**Warning: Spoilers Ahead**
Initially, I didn't like the story that much since the premise seemed a bit forced. Right off the bat, when Gu Wei's father brought up the idea of an engagement, I was like 'does his dad not realize he's an idol and it's career suicide for him get engaged and married......?'. Also it just didn't feel realistic as China is not the most lgbt-friendly country. I'm sure the author had to stretch to find ways for celebrities in two very different worlds to meet and constantly interact, but first the engagement and then meeting in a random European country when one person was filming a variety show and the other was traveling for leisure was way too coincidental. The WeChat misunderstanding that caused Gu Wei and Jiang Xun's chicken and duck situation felt like it was too much as well.
After the initial awkwardness though, the rest of their interactions were super cute. I enjoyed following the creation of the #FoodForXunWei supertopic on Wb (happened in chapter 30 so relatively early!) and seeing all of the online comments from solo / cp / anti fans alike. I follow some actors in the c-ent world and all of it felt very familiar, from going over all of the content with a microscope and getting a cavity from all the sweetness of the candies released. It was actually quite eye opening to see how standardized a lot of these fan activities are across cps.
There were quite a few amusing moments. Gu Wei just can't seem to stop getting into trouble, from his "Filthy Animal" nickname for Jiang Xun getting discovered by the person himself, to trying to not mention JX's name on a livestream but pretty much doing everything else to indicate to his fans they were hanging out, especially when he picked up JX's dog and showed him off. Or on the same livestream when Jiang Ying casually entered to ask GW to ask JX to pick up his mom's phone call and all the viewers were going ????. I wouldn't want to be GW's manager, that's for sure XP
I loved seeing the live viewers' reactions to both episodes of Without a Trace as well. The first episode was still relatively calm, but understandably viewers really wanted to know what the bleeped out dialogue was from the second episode. It was all quite amusing to read.
Also, can I say how much I love the fact that JX joined a chat for GW's hedgehog defense squad and very actively participated and pretty much funded all of their activities?? And how he finally he joined them in person for GW's concert at the end and revealed his true identify :D
I was happy to see that Jiang Enyuan got what he deserved too. Thank goodness for the brother-in-law coming through with his 20 gb of dirt on him!
Gu Wei and Jiang Xun make a very sweet couple; I never thought I would actually encounter full-fledged flirting in a danmei novel, and I was pleasantly surprised. It takes a while to figure out the tone of the story, especially since Gu Wei is quite the unreliable narrator.
There are moments where he is thoroughly enjoying himself, but one wouldn't know it from the narration. Only from the reactions and responses of the characters surrounding him. There is also a really hialrious bit of comedy of miscommunication at the start that is actually enjoyable—it even ends up being referrenced down the lane in a fun way!
All that said, there were a few bits that made go: WTF? For example, GU Wei's history of depression and phobia of pointed/sharp objects. There is maybe a couple of mentions—outright told, not shown—and is resolved pretty simply. Apart from that, the fact that Jiang Xun, a new partner, just casually makes medical-adjacent decisions for him is... uh, baffling at the least and over-stepping boundaries at the most.
Sure, their relationship progresses really quickly, and maybe this is a personal hang-up for me, but I feel like the author wanted to include this aspect without doing her due diligence while portraying such matters. Either way, my enjoyment drastically decreased after that.
Also the Jiang Enyuan debacle—for something that was a major scandal in Gu Wei's life, it got resolved way too easily, and with literally no input or work from Gu Wei's side! I guess the author wanted a fluffy story and that is all she wrote, despite the set-ups for angst and corporate rivalry at the start.
Well, how should I put this... 37 chapter is too short, and the story hasn't really come to a conclusion yet. It's basically the end of a season. I'm not blaming them for not continuing the series, it's just hard to express with words (`°ω°`)
I gave it four stars because I love the art. It's one of the best art style I've ever seen on Bilibili, other than I've Gone Viral Thanks to My Crush, Best Actors' Apartment, I Ship My Rival x Me, and Intoxicated. It's aesthetically pleasing to look at and I can't stop fawning at how gorgeous the characters are ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ 💘💘💘
Though, plot-wise, it's kind of abrupt and it feels like there are a lot of moments missing before we could actually cheer on our main couple. (ΦωΦ)I wanna know what happens afterward with the trends. So many questions left hanging! (◕‸ ◕✿) ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
I started Your Memes Are Better Looking Than You because the premise sounded lighthearted and fun, but honestly… I just couldn’t take it seriously. The story completely misses a sense of realism. It’s overly sexualized to the point of feeling perverted and the relationship between the two mains comes off as superficial and cringey instead of romantic.
The older one constantly makes sexual comments (“you should call me husband in bed,” “I should spank you for being a bad boy”), while the younger one is written as extremely submissive, to the point that it feels uncomfortable. Their dynamic doesn’t read like flirting, it just feels off. Even things like one of them getting dizzy bcs of a game and falling into the other’s arms, like how weak is that younger MC. Or the older MC getting a boner from a kiss on the cheek.. It made me feel like I was reading a 13-year-old’s fanfiction rather than a danmei novel.
There are also moments that genuinely bothered me, like the younger MC feeling grateful that the older one “let him off” after clearly inappropriate behavior. That’s not romance. Every time something serious started, it immediately turned into another awkward sexual comment. I feel like consent wasn't really there either.
It just wasn’t for me at all. The writing felt immature, the dynamic unhealthy and overall it’s not something I’d recommend.

pros: ahh honestly so good, both mc and ml are great and likeable characters, side characters like the rest of the group the brother and sunny are also great and loveable, the relationship between mc and ml is great and cute and really healthy, a nice approach to mental health and abuse but without giving it too much focus to make the story lose the overall sweet and lighthearted tone, a nice mix of the idol/actor/esports aspects!, nice plot and pacing, good extras
cons: 5 year age gap (freshly 18 and 23/24), the s*x always being described as “bullying” and gu wei lowkey not seeming as into it as jiang xun was a bit uncomfortable also that one dubcon time
Just finished reading this one and I gotta say, I really enjoyed it!
I've read a sum of great danmei novels this year and this one didn't let me down either. I liked the characters, the writing and the overall reading experience.
The plot isn't the kind of plot that attracts me enormously, especially with the amount of things the author just glazes over in order to create an almost perfect scenario for their relationship to happen (which is indeed the cool thing about fiction, it doesn't have to be realistic, but here it somehow feels like its missing something, maybe some more worldbuilding). But still, the story ended up captivating me and so did its characters.
Overall, it's a pretty sturdy 4 out of 5 and I'll be diving right into the sequel about Jiang Ying ~
It all started with matchmaking parents, an engagement, a case of mistaken identity and silly misunderstandings that led to the creation of a Super CP full of fluff. The Idol Lead Dancer MC and Professional Gamer ML pair have such a fun dynamic.
Not much to say other than I loved this at the time. It is so fun and light-hearted. It me chuckle here and there. A true dose of happy and funny. I will say that the story lost me towards the end with the entertainment circle and fan stuff. The Netizen stuff really became overkill. The more you read the more the romance got progressively cheesier but still a fun little read .
Is this what a black belly is? Because I saw nothing wrong with their relationship. You want something really toxic, go pick up Addicted (am still trying to cleanse my brain of that drivel). Could actually relate to this because my husband and I are in the game dev industry (though neither of us are submissive, lol).
If you want some second hand embarrassment of internet clumsiness and cute romance, this one is for you. It's definitely captured the feeling of online culture and shipping fan girls. This was a fun one with great characters, great chemistry and great humor. I very much enjoyed it once I got passed the cringe of misunderstandings in the first chapters.
Rating: 4/5- Cute, fluffy read that goes quickly but doesn’t bore you too much,
This is lighthearted and fun with a good kid a relevant issues. I especially liked how the depression topic was handled with professional assistance instead of basic human intervention.
Overall it’s fluffy and enjoyable! Read if you want something sweet and happy.
i enjoyed the story sm + the translation was excellent. as an idol stan, it was especially fun for me to read the variety show scenes and also all the weibo/livestream comments. i wish t.atw were real, i’d stan so fast. i also appreciated the theme of healing from mental illness and think it was done well. ..lastly, “angel”🫠
Very cute romance with hilarious writing and interactions between the different characters. Aside from the main couple of Jiang Xun and Gu Wei, I found Jiang Ying very entertaining. I really liked Gu Wei's journey throughout the novel as he fell in love with Jiang Xun and realized that he was capable of love and worthy of being loved. 4.5 stars, rounded up.
Very fast read. I didn't mind the "bullying" of Jiang Xun with Gu Wei. This was a mindless fluffy read - a good break from the heavier BLs. But netizens really do have time on their hands to berate celebrities - that was unacceptable bullying. This felt similar to "I Can Do It" and "My Husband Is Suffering from a Terminal Illness". Overall, enjoyable.
I didn't think I would enjoy this so much😂😂😂 this is definitely a light reading but holy shit it's so funny lmao especially the first half. Both are so silly and cute. I'm happy seeing the gays happy.
Supportive ML, love the group too for same reason Lowkey no concept of privacy The little hedgehogs are the healthiest fandom ever Love me some face slaps Idols are human too MC deserves the world *hug
