A healthy alternative to dieting with some wonderfully creative recipes and designed to counter the health problems you might have…

How to Eat to Beat Disease Cookbook: 75 Healthy Recipes to Protect Your Well-Being by Ginger Hultin is written by a dietician and meant to handle health questions for those with uncertain allergies, health concerns, or scientific focus to their well being.

The first fourth of the book focuses on the ingredients you might eat and how they can be key to improving your condition. The book focuses on five factors: angiogenesis (blood vessel formation), cell regeneration, microbiome health (metabolism and digestion), DNA health (to avoid risk of cancer and other conditions), and the immune system. A valuable chart contains hundreds of ingredients and which of the five fields they contribute to.

Recipes are organized by breakfast, Souo and salads, seafood, chicken, vegetarian dishes, and deserts. Each one indicates if it is gluten-free, soy-free, vegan, etc for those who have a particular preference for their eating habits.

The book may have been limited on food photos (an issue with any cookbook), but it makes up for it by satisfying my appetite for food knowledge.

This cookbook is a wonderful source of inspiration for anyone who wants to bring more wholesome foods into everyday meals. The recipes are approachable, flavorful, and centered around nutritious ingredients without making healthy cooking feel complicated. I especially enjoyed the variety, which makes it easier to keep meals interesting throughout the week. The recipes are practical enough for everyday cooking while still offering fresh ideas for trying something different. Overall, it is a useful and enjoyable cookbook for anyone looking to make more thoughtful food choices and create satisfying meals at home.

Quick guide to Dr. William Li’s book, ‘Eat to Beat Disease’, and many recipes. The list of foods grouped by their respective benefits and an explanation of the 5x5x5 plan are very helpful. This is an excellent companion to Eat to Beat Disease.

nice addition to my library

Some great recipe ideas. I like the reference for evaluating food value to body systems. This will be an additional resource, but I prefer to use whole dairy instead of reduced fat so will swap out recommendations as needed.

It's an ok cookbook, but I didn't find many recipes that I'd want to make. My tastes are limited so don't let my review sway you. You may find many recipes you'll want to try.

Eat to Beat Disease

Looking forward to trying the recipes. Excellent follow-up for Dr William Li's Eat to Beat Disease - The New Science of How Your Body Can Heal Itself.

A nice collection and variety of recipes with scientifically sound reasoning make the endorsement a place to feel great about adding these dishes to a routine, try out meal plans, or incorporate one by one. Everyone wants to see how a balanced diet looks, how to address all the nutritional concerns, and feel confident the choices they are making are ones that are nutritious and sound. This book also is a 21st-century nutrition information powerhouse answering the question of why and then moves through the practical implementation step of how.

I appreciate the flexitarian part of the book where recipes can be adapted to and from fish/chicken to vegetarian if you'd like. This helps us find something for everyone. There is diversity and versatility to adapt and utilize the information and ideas. It meets people where they are at while incorporating more whole food plant-based benefits. Our family each found different favorites - this fits the bill for a family cookbook!

The list of ingredients for the first week was so long I stopped reading. My home isn't large enough. Also the ingredients were foreign to me.
