(Este volumen incluye los capítulos del manga que van del 109 al 114, ambos inclusive)
Rin Okumura está siendo testigo en vivo y en directo de su propio nacimiento, y de todos los medios que la Orden de la Vera Cruz está preparando para exorcizarle en cuanto nazca. Cuando llega el momento, el recién nacido empieza a sembrar el pánico entre los caballeros de la Orden, lo que comprensiblemente es más de lo que el Rin mayor pueda aguantar. Así que Mephisto le hace alejarse de la escena para descansar. Lo que nos dará a los lectores la excusa para ver como su hermano Yukio se las apaña en el cuartel general de los Illuminati y hace varios descubrimientos interesantes, al igual que Suguru y Kamiki en compañía de Lightning.
Que contenta estoy de haberme puesto a releer “Blue Exorcist”, especialmente este tomo número 24. Y es que solía leer los capítulos cuando salían mensualmente en Japón y algún caritativo fansub los traducía al español (estoy poniéndome al día con los que aún no están oficialmente editados por Norma Editorial, cero remordimientos). Y de las diferentes tramas de este tomo enfocadas en Yukio, Shima, Suguro, Shiemi y cía no me acordaba mucho. Osea, tenía relativamente fresco el viaje de Rin al pasado, pero lo que pasaba con el resto de personajes no. Así que me alegro de tener la oportunidad dd recordarlo. Me está gustando que la mangaka dediqué tiempo al resto de personajes que no sean Rin. No recuerdo (creo que no) si escribí reseñas de los tomos de los arcos de Kioto y del rescate de Kamiki, pero en esos momentos me gustó mucho que se pusiera el foco en el resto de personajes que no eran los gemelos Okumura, que también se les diera importancia global y espacio para poder demostrar sus habilidades y la forma en que también ellos podían evolucionar como luchadores y como personajes, y en este tomo que nos ocupa ahora creo que esto sigue llevándose muy bien. A lo largo de la historia hay todavía muchos frentes abiertos, así que está bien que Kazue Kato divida a los personajes y les dosifique, dándoles la oportunidad (y a nosotros como lectores) de descubrir más cosas y de que todo esto converja de cara al futuro global de la historia. Así que sí, creo que hacer este parón el arco del pasado y que Rin les ceda el protagonismo a los demás ha estado bastante bien pensado, ha ayudado a que la trama siga avanzando y ha cerrado algunos puntos a la par que ha abierto otros. Bien hecho por parte de la autora.
Especialmente he valorado que se centre todo en las andanzas de Yukio con los Illuminatis, lo que nos ha permitido descubrir más sobre la organización, su centro de operaciones y sus planes (otra cosa que también me ha parecido genial que salga a escena ¿esa escena de la comida, que casi te dan ganas de currar ahí? Menos mal que rápidamente volvemos a ponernos en perspectiva, y a recordar que son los malos malisimos). El joven profesor me está llevando por el camino de la amargura desde hace ya bastante tiempo ( como a la mayoría de los lectores del manga, supongo), y he estado la mayor parte de la lectura del tomo preguntándome qué es lo que se trae entre manos y asumiendo que ha cambiado sus lealtades, para que en un último momento haya un golpe de efecto con el que Yukio demuestra sus verdaderas cartas y que pone todo patas arriba, el cual me ha pillado por sorpresa y por ello me ha encantado. Demostrando lo maquiavélico que puede llegar a ser (como decía mi abuela, cuanto más bonachón parece uno, menos tienes que fiarte) y que posiblemente junto a Lightning sea el personaje más astuto. Yukio no es que vaya de espía doble como Shima ( soy muy fan de la dupla que forman estos dos, y me hubiera gustado que se le hubiera dedicado más espacio en este tomo, la verdad) ni que siga siendo fiel a la Orden de la Vera Cruz ,aunque también busque acabar con los Iluminati. Ahora es un lobo solitario que va por libre y que está dispuesto a todo por conseguir sus objetivos, que busca superar a su hermano a cualquier costo y hacer las cosas por su cuenta, en varias viñetas resulta de lo más perturbador. Es ahora más peligroso que nunca, y me parece importante tener esto presente cuando se habla del personaje.
Y volviendo a Lightning, me lo he pasado muy bien con los descubrimientos que ha hecho en este tomo. Sobre todo porque gracias a eso los personajes de Bon y Kamiki no se han quedado atrás y siguen teniendo su participación en la trama (¿shippeo a estos dos fuertemente? shippeo a estos dos fuertemente, no me escondo). Creo que en esta subrama es donde mejor se ve lo buena planificadora que es Kazue Kato y su inteligencia a la hora de narrar. Aquí no es solo la autora siga dando cuota de protagonismo a personajes que sería fácil que se quedasen como meros secundarios, como ya he dicho antes. Pero es que recoge hilos sueltos de otros volúmenes y los conecta muy bien unos con otros, haciendo avanzar la historia y dándole a todo sentido con gran eficacia. Mientras da más importancia a algunos personajes secundarios que son muy interesantes y a los que se les puede sacar mucho jugo y recupera a viejos conocidos muy acertadamente. Y todo eso aprovechándose de la inteligencia y habilidades de previsión de Lightning, que estas alturas de la película reconozco que no sé si me encanta o me da grima.
Y luego están las escenas de Shiemi, que no hay que olvidarse de ella. No recuerdo tampoco muy bien de qué iba lo suyo. Solo que a) estoy de acuerdo en que Jeremiah da muy mala espina b) ¿qué será lo que ha olvidado esta mujer? C) me parecía que el personaje pegaba un cambio de tuerca que resultaba muy interesante y que, personalmente, agradecí mucho en su momento, porque siempre me ha parecido el carácter menos interesante de toda esta historia. De momento, esa conversación final que tiene con el inconsciente Rin me ha llegado a la patata interior. Me alegro mucho que haya ayudado, porque si, Rin se merece haber nacido, y ya es hora de que no lo dude (sobre todo porque ha quedado claro que te han hecho la vida mártir desde el minuto cero). Y punch. Y a todo esto, no se sabrá muy bien de qué va Mephisto por la vida y que se propone, pero hay que reconocerle que siempre es el que más trata de ayudar a los gemelos a su manera, y de alguna forma siempre les da lo que necesitan (o lo intenta) tanto moral como logísticamente, incluso aunque pueda parecer lo contrario.
Y en las últimas páginas del volumen volvemos al nacimiento de los gemelos, con el inicio de la Noche Azul cobrando protagonismo por obra y gracia de Satán, que no estaba muerto, que estaba de parranda (bueno, con daños cerebrales xd). Tengo muchas ganas de recordar cómo se desenvolvía la cosa, y si era todo tan trágico como mal recuerdo. Pobre Yuri, estoy sufriendo mucho con ella en las pocas viñetas en las que ha aparecido en este volumen. Y lo que nos queda…

Ich finde die Reihe mega gut und spannend. Aber eins nerv wirklich sehr. Die lange Wartezeit auf den nächsten Band. Ich hoffe das der 25. Band erscheint. Sonst wird wieder aus der Handlung gerissen. Ich musste echt erst das letzte Kapitel von Band 23 lesen. Um wieder in die Handlung rein zu kommen.

Yuri por fin da a luz a los gemelos y todo se vuelve un caos. Rin es un demonio completo y no duda en utilizar sus llamas azules contra los humanos a su alrededor, al igual que Satán.
Por su parte, Yukio habla con Lucifer, el líder de los Illuminati, y de alguna manera se involucra entre sus planes. Así mismo, se aprovecha del contrato de Moras para llamar a un par de demonios que intentan destruir la sede de dicha organización.
Entre paginas descubrimos que el actual paladín, Arthur, quizá fue una de las víctimas de la Noche Azul, además de que Shiemi pertenece a los Grigori y ahora tendrá que encargarse de las tareas que se le imponen, como descendiente de uno de los demonios importantes.
En fin, este volumen me gustó mucho porque la mangaka nos cuenta parte del pasado, así como del presente y en ningún momento se siente tedioso, sino al contrario. Al inicio del manga tuvimos muchas preguntas, y poco a poco se han ido respondiendo; todo parece encajar, así que no me sorprende que haya planeado esto desde el inicio.
Me encanta ver a Shiemi con Rin y cómo siempre se apoyan el uno en el otro y aunque ella no sepa categorizarlo, me queda claro que el amor que sienten el uno por el otro es maravilloso. En serio que tengo muchas ganas de leer el siguiente volumen, pero me duele saber que quizá el destino de todos estuvo cubierto de sangre todo este tiempo.

This arc has been phenomenal and was definitely worth the wait. I feel so bad for Rin after seeing his own birth, both the pain it caused his mother, and the fury of his unrestrained demon nature. He has to face a lot in his past to move forward. We finally get some answers about Shiemi who is an incarnation of one of the Grigori. I was glad she and Rin had a moment together and I wonder what comes next for her. That Uzai fellow seems ominous. I was also really glad that this volume showed what has been going on with the other characters while Rin is in the past. Lewin Light makes the discoveries of his investigation public and tries to take down Drac but it comes too late. I wonder if Arthur will ever accept that he is a clone? Also we finally see what Yukio has been up to with the Illuminati. As I suspected he had no real intention of joining them and just wants to destroy them before they complete their ritual to create a new body for Satan. As to whether he will make up with Rin or return to the True Cross we will have to see. There is so much in these volumes and all of the plot threads are clicking into place. Onward!

For this volume, we mostly leave Rin passed out after some harrowing revelations (very Dante of him!!) and move onto what everyone else is doing.
The series has this thing where some (most) of the characters are fairly static? But at the same time, looking at them in this volume, I couldn't help but think how much everyone has changed. It might be because of the physical and temporal changes but still.
(Also, with all respect, Rin's birth scene was goofy as hell.)

La historia está muy muy muy lenta, me empiezo a enredar un poco con los demonios, pero ya es por falta de interés
Que coincidente lo de shiemi...... aunque lo de las heces me dio mucha risa
En si quiero que ya empiece el clímax me está matando tantas muestras del pasado y que no me expliquen lo otro

Eighteen hours have passed since Yuri’s labor began and she is no closer to delivery than she was when it started. Because of the cradle barrier, medical experts are unable to give her an injection, and she is exhausted. Not to mention that during this ordeal, the poor woman is on display, and there’s nothing anyone (meaning Shiro) can do about it. He is helpless to help her. Yuri pushes hard and manages to birth the first child, which has its own consequences. Poor Rin, an unseen silent witness to the events of the past, becomes convinced more than ever that he should never have been born.
Sir Pheles feels Rin’s pain and removes him to another place.
Meanwhile, aboard the airship Dominus Liminus, Yukio has been summoned by the commander, Lucifer, who informs him that his test results are back. While Yukio is not a demon, he is not exactly a normal human either. Yukio’s left eye shows signs of severe temptaint, which is probably why Satan is able to use the eye as a window onto Assiah.
Lucifer decides to play tour guide and takes Yukio around his airship. A set of twin pistols catches Yukio’s eye. Turns out they are the test type and prototype of the Armumahel gun and its power “has the same qualities as the black flame” they consider to be “the flame of Gehenna.” In a surprise move, Lucifer offers the guns to Yukio and he accepts. However, Lucifer explains, before Yukio can wield both weapons, his arm needs to be repaired, which could take five or six weeks. But there is a way in which it could be done in only one day…
Lewin Light (aka Lightning) is on trial for his attack on Director Drac Dragelescu. Lightning attempts to tell them (including Arthur Angel) that Drac has been working for the enemy, working at producing clones of demons. That doesn’t go very well, so now it’s up to Suguro to find the proof of Lightning’s innocence. Is he up to the task?
Shima gives Yukio some confidential information and tells him to do with it what he will. Yukio can’t help but wonder which side Shima is on. Shima says he wonders the same thing about Yukio. But what Shima tells him about Lucifer constantly changing bodies makes sense and explains much. Also explains much about Dragulescu.
The evidence of Dragulescu’s perfidy comes a day late and a dollar short as the man has flown the coop. Meanwhile, Lucifer has allowed Yukio to witness the experiment involving so-called “chosen ones” for whom this is not their first time at the rodeo. And now Lucifer reveals the reason for wanting Yukio to be present at this time…
Shiemi finds herself among the Grigori as an honored guest and given a complete make-over. They refer to her as Lady Shiemi and her wish is their command. She is unsure of why she is there. And she makes an unexpected discovery…
I’ve been waiting a long time for this next volume, and it doesn’t disappoint. On the contrary, I am now impatient for the next one. I only hope the wait is shorter.
Rin is beginning to think he should never have been born, as if his birth was the cause of anything. I hope he gets over this soon. Yukio, on the other hand, has come back into my good graces. I should have known better. The jury is still out on Shima. Suguro is pretty awesome, and has been trained well by Lightning, who isn’t as useless as he often seems. Even Mephisto Pheles shows an uncanny knack for knowing where and when he is needed and what to do in any given situation.
I still feel bad for Yuri. She was used as a pawn for something that was none of her fault. The heart loves where it loves. Not enough Shiro in this volume, but that’s not unexpected. Important things are happening, I can’t wait to see what they are. Another great volume of Blue Exorcist!

Shima gives Yukio some confidential information and tells him to do with it what he will. Yukio can’t help but wonder which side Shima is on. Shima says he wonders the same thing about Yukio. But what Shima tells him about Lucifer constantly changing bodies makes sense and explains much. Also explains much about Dragulescu.
The evidence of Dragulescu’s perfidy comes a day late and a dollar short as the man has flown the coop. Meanwhile, Lucifer has allowed Yukio to witness the experiment involving so-called “chosen ones” for whom this is not their first time at the rodeo. And now Lucifer reveals the reason for wanting Yukio to be present at this time…
Shiemi finds herself among the Grigori as an honored guest and given a complete make-over. They refer to her as Lady Shiemi and her wish is their command. She is unsure of why she is there. And she makes an unexpected discovery…
I’ve been waiting a long time for this next volume, and it doesn’t disappoint. On the contrary, I am now impatient for the next one. I only hope the wait is shorter.
Rin is beginning to think he should never have been born, as if his birth was the cause of anything. I hope he gets over this soon. Yukio, on the other hand, has come back into my good graces. I should have known better. The jury is still out on Shima. Suguro is pretty awesome, and has been trained well by Lightning, who isn’t as useless as he often seems. Even Mephisto Pheles shows an uncanny knack for knowing where and when he is needed and what to do in any given situation.
I still feel bad for Yuri. She was used as a pawn for something that was none of her fault. The heart loves where it loves. Not enough Shiro in this volume, but that’s not unexpected. Important things are happening, I can’t wait to see what they are. Another great volume of Blue Exorcist!

This volume was packed with seeing what everyone besides Rin and Yukio are doing, so it was a little dull for me, but things are really moving forward which I am glad for.
In this volume, Rin witnessed his own birth as he is consumed with grief in the belief that he should never have been born. This is the reason why he was always so hesitant and avoided knowing about the truth of his and Yukio's past and origins. Such a revelation and witnessing his birth causes him to nearly be consumed by his demonic side, but thanks to hearing Shiemi being thankful to both Okumura twins he snaps out of it and prepares to see the outcome of the past as the Blue Night finally commences.
Meanwhile, True Cross and the Grigori finally are about to get evidence of that Doctor guy, I believe his name is Dracul or something, haven't memorized it; they are about to get evidence that he is one of the traitors and members of the Illumiati as several higher up members, Lightning, Suguro and Izumo go the investigate things.
All the while, Shiemi is finally taken to the real Garden of Amahara she and her grandmother dreamed of finding for so long. There she is dressed and will commence to learn everything she is required to know. She is basically treated as royalty and addressed as 'My Lady.' However, we have yet to learn who Shimei really is and her memories have yet to return to her.
And finally, Yukio. With the help of the Illuminati he fully heals his arm and obtains weapons which only he can use, because the Illuminati's experiments and analysis of him revealed that Yukio is resistant to Blue Flames. And ofc, this means he is also resistant to Red and Black flames. As such, because of these highly advanced weapons which use these flames to harm high level demons only Yukio could truly be the one to use them as regular humans can't be exposed to them for too long. All the while, Yukio also learns that Satan has been using his eyes to peer into Assiah.
As such satisfied with all the information he has learned. And thanks to Shima sharing information from Lightning, Yukio uses the contract he was forced to sign to summon demons and orders them to attack and destroy the Illuminati airship they are on. Normally, if the truth had been revealed the contract would cause demons to kill the person, however, the master of the demons can choose whether to carry out this or not. Thus, Yukio is safe and is being a badass to attack the Illuminati. That is my son!! And due to him summoning these demons, Lightning and the others have managed to know where the Illuminati currently are!
Overall, this volume was a little boring, but toward the end it got really good. I look forward to reading the next volume as it seems the next one will finally end Rin's journey to the past. Will be interesting to see the rest of the twins birth play out and see what really happened on the Blue Night.

Empieza el tomo en el momento en que nace Rin. Como bebé demonio mata a muchas de las personas que estaban asistiendo el parto. Cuando el Rin del presente ve esto se altera un poco y piensa que era mejor no haber nacido, rindiendose lentamente ante su otro yo. Mephisto lo lanza a un lugar en donde Shiemi, con sus palabras, logra calmarlo y así puede volver para seguir viendo el nacimiento suyo y de su hermano.
Por otra parte, Yukio está con los illuminati y unos exámenes que le realizaron muestran que es inmune a las llamas azules y que además Satán pueder ver a través de su ojo izquierdo. Además le dan unas pistolas que pueden derrotar a demonios de alto nivel y le ayudan a sanar su brazo de manera inmediata. Luego va a ver cómo van a realizar un experimento con personas y en ese momento revela que había hecho un contrato morinas con Lewin y decide usarlo como arma, invocando a dos familiares poderosos y pidiendoles que destruyan la aeronave. Acá Yukio dice que nunca se iba a unir a los Illuminati y sentí un poco de decepción porque pareciera que volvería a ser el mismo de antes una vez que salga de ahí.
En el juicio de Lewin, este asegura que el doctor Dragulescu trabaja para los illuminati, creando los clones perfectos y que el mismo ha reemplazado su cuerpo con estos. Lewin intenta atacar de nuevo al doctor y es por esto que lo encierran. La caballero Lucy Yang, Suguro e Izumo van a la celda donde lo llevaron y ahí también se encuentra Osceola, entonces se activa el rastradeor y saben la posición exacta del doctor así que van todos en su busqueda.
El grupo llega a un laboratorio de Rumania en donde se encuentra el doctor Dragulescu y ahí encuentran a algunos de los clones de la sección 13, pero están en modo zombie, por lo que los empiezan a atacar. Este ataque duró poco porque llega el tipo del parche en el ojo a rescatarlos. Después los lleva a una sala en donde ven que una de las cápsulas de los clones está vacia así que concluyen que el doctor se cambió de cuerpo y escapó
Shiemi llega a un palacio, la visten como si fuera una princesa y además está rodeada de sirvientes. Ella no tiene recuerdos de ese lugar pero empezará a aprender lo que sea que tenga que aprender. Todavía no entiendo quienes son los Grigori, quién es Shiemi en realidad y su importancia en todo esto.
Fue un tomo con bastante información y diferentes puntos de vista. Me pareció un poco lento en ciertas partes, pero estuvo interesante de igual manera. De a poco se van dando respuestas y me pone ansiosa no saber otras todavía así que a seguir leyendo.

Yuri goes into pregnancy in the flashback, while we get to look at Yukio and Shima in the present learning more about who and what the Illuminati plan to do. It's cool! Kind of confusing keeping everything straight but we're getting big reveals and confirmations of things hinted at prior. So much of this series has been shrouded in mystery and guessing who's right and wrong, who's telling the truth and who's a traitor, and now we're finally seeing people reveal whose sides they're on. And the art is fantastic, lots of big explosions of energy that are utterly entrancing.

Wait. Is Shima on the good or bad side? He keeps throwing me for a loop. I've never read or watched anything where a character turns out to be a traitor but you can never tell whose side they're on. Shima is a wild card right now. I seriously cannot tell if he's aligned with the good guys or not.
Not surprising that once Yukio got what he wanted, he decided to betray the Illuminati and Lucifer. That doesn't excuse his behavior though. I can never forget the way he treated Shiemi and Rin. He owes them both a huge apology.

Wspominek i analiz przeszłości ciąg dalszy. Szczęśliwie nie zajmuje już to całości tomu, bo wracamy tu do szeregu postaci, które toczą swoje aktualne śledztwa.
Zobaczymy jak na świat przyszedł Rin i jak od razu zaczął "broić". Zobaczymy co w tym czasie porabiał Yukio. Przyjrzymy się też ekipie Levina, której przygody naprowadzają tych dobrych na ślad działania Iluminati. Zresztą ci ostatni też tu będą.
Dzieje się tu zatem naprawdę sporo, a nieco większa doza akcji sprawia, że 24-ty tom jest dużo fajniejszy niż poprzedni. Kolejna świetna odsłona.

This and the next few volumes are surprisingly thick compared to the standard manga volumes, but despite all the action on the page visually I don't know that there has been much progress plot wise. Rin's journey through the past is finally concluded and we finally get more of Yukio, but it feels like too much of Yukio's things were skipped or his change in character is too sudden and severe so not only are his actions in this volume confusing, the 'twist' he pulls just confuses things even more.

no puedo explicar con palabras el amor que le tengo a estos personajes, estoy tan encariñada con todos los protas que lo único que no me gustó es lo poco que salió Koneko y Shiemi. Me gusta mucho ver todo lo que estaban haciendo mientras Rin estaba en su viaje todos son como protas de su pequeña historia, los tqm. Y que ya por fin llegue la noche azul me tiene !!!! llevo esperando años por este momento.

Blue Exorcist is so good and I love it so much but this volume confused meeeeee this world is so complex and unfortunately manga is released in increments, so sometimes I forget shit and yeeeaahhh. It's not really her fault that I'm forgetting stuff though, and this was still real good. I can't wait for the next volume to come out in America! :)

Auch wenn ich anfangs sehr schwer in die Reihe reingekommen bin, war Blue Exorcist zwischenzeitlich eine meiner Lieblingsreihen. Die Zeichnungen sind auch immer sehr gut.
Doch mittlerweile empfinde ich die Storyline als zu sehr in die Länge gezogen. Was in 3 Bänden geschieht hätte sicher auch gut in der Hälfte erzählt werden können. Darunter leidet die Spannung und bei mir kommt da Frust auf.

La historia está llegando a su punto álgido donde los personajes están desenmascarándose.
Lightning me encanta. Siempre tiene un as bajo la manga y se ha enterado de muchas cosas.
Yukio me ha sorprendido, pero aún así no cambia mi opinión sobre él y Shiemi me intriga muchísimo, quiero saber más sobre su relación con los grigori y por qué es tan importante.

maybe 4.25*?? It was good and I’m starting to like yukio more again but now there’s so many storylines happening at the same time, the details are getting more and more confusing (especially with shiemi) and I feel like that’s starting to impact on my enjoyment of the series again - hopefully this is kinda rectified in the next volume though :)

Diese Geburtsszene ist so bescheuert! Allerdings mehr von der Art die Augen zu rollen, als zu Schmunzeln. Yukio bleibt ein pubertärer Idiot, während ich Rins Entwicklung nachvollziehen kann. Shiemis Geheimnis ist interessant und verspricht auch eine weitere interessante Entwicklung. Allerdings war die Darstellungsart mitunter seltsam. Ich mag den Kurzcomic über die Sozialleistungen.

Ok it get a little confusing as they reveal some more double crossings and I kind of wished they would have focused more on the Blue Night as we do see Rin and Yukio's birth but it quickly cuts away to the real world. And while it would be nice to see what is going on but it is not as interesting as learning about the origin of all of the key characters in the story.

Wow, like there was a point in the previous 2 or 3 volumes where I hated a character but now I might be turning back to liking them.

Rin's birth happens and boy is a baby Satan just....hilarious. Yukio has a big plan and Shiemi is getting prepped for something that feels very...sinister. The I am ready to keep reading the brothers' story and finally see how the first blue night went down.
