Lisa Jackson is the number-one New York Times bestselling author of over ninety-five novels, including the Rick Bentz and Reuben Montoya Series, the Pescoli and Alvarez Series, the Savannah series, and numerous stand alone novels. She also is the co-author of One Last Breath, Last Girl Standing, and the Colony Series, written with her sister and bestselling author Nancy Bush, as well as the collaborative novels Sinister and Ominous, written with Nancy Bush and Rosalind Noonan. There are over thirty million copies of her novels in print and her writing has been translated into twenty languages.

Before she became a nationally bestselling author, she was a mother struggling to keep food on the table by writing novels, hoping against hope that someone would pay her for them. Today, neck deep in murder, her books appear on The New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly national bestseller lists.

With dozens of bestsellers to her name, Lisa Jackson is a master of taking readers to the edge of sanity—and back—in novels that buzz with dangerous secrets and deadly passions. She continues to be fascinated by the minds and motives of both her killers and their pursuers—the personal, the professional, and the downright twisted. As she builds the puzzle of relationships, actions, clues, lies, and personal histories that haunt her protagonists, she must also confront the fear and terror faced by her victims and the harsh and enduring truth that, in the real world, terror and madness touch far too many lives and families.

Light read, certain aspects should have been better developed. The conflict dragged unnecessarily and it ended too soon. For me, the issues were not satisfactorily resolved, people were forgiven too soon and a decade long feud ended amicably in an abrupt manner.

If you think about it deeply, it has some glaring problems. How can a dad ruin his daughter's life just so that his own affair stays in the shadows? Nice light chemistry though.

Started this book as part of Envious, thinking it was going to be something completely different. Boring. The same things were repeated for the first 100 pages. I finished it because it’s hard for me to not finish something, but I’m definitely not going to read books 2 and 3 of this series in “Envious”.

Should've known better than to read a 1998 book in 2020. These 90s books do NOT age well, lol.

The h&h are not bad, both are wishy-washy, the dude in a alphahole style and the dudette in a no-no-forced-kiss-then-yes+yes-i-want-sex-every-time type.

But what made me really furious was the father. What a complete and utter piece of shit human being!

I couldn't understand why everyone seems to be constantly forgiving and moving past his shitty actions. Book 2's heroine seems to be more unforgiving so I'm looking forward to her book but this book's heroine really needs to grow a goddam spine and cut relations with her asshole super-shitty father.

This is a older book that is now part of a book containing the 3 books of the series. I have read many of this authors book before, but not this one. Overall I found it to be a well written book, although I can certainly say I don't like Bliss's father at all. Can a couple attracted to each other in the past, find a way back to each other in the present time. I enjoyed the book and would cetainly suggest it to others.

Definitely not my kind of book. Credibility does not seem to be a major concern. It seems very unlikely that a woman's father can have two illegitimate children and a thirty year long affair with the mother of one of his illegitimate children in a small town while married to another woman and his legitimate daughter knows nothing about it.

I was expecting a mystery; I hate when authors spring a deferent genre on their readers. This romance was a little shallow and more graphic than necessary; but the characters were relatable. I downloaded this novel in a bundle with two more in the series. I will read the other two since I started the series.

This book was an ok typical light-read 90's romance book. I found it strange that decade long secrets, deceitfulness and manipulations were simply forgiven overnight. You also don't really get to know the characters very well. However, a good book if looking for a quick read

This was an okay story but I just finished reading the Cahill trilogy which was outstanding. It’s hard for anything measured against the Cahills to come out well.

DNF. A VERY early Lisa Jackson which was a hokey romance with all the drama of misunderstandings, etc

Not my interest at all and writing was sloppy and plot points trite. A bad experience for me.

This book started and ended boring I had to force myself to finish it. The plot dragged on it had the potential to be interesting the concept was there but execution was not. The characters were lackluster and it felt incredibly repetitive. Not an easy read too slow with no substance to back it up
