Idea was good but was not executed well. Rejected anything that wasn’t light and love. There is always dark to light and reading this is made it seem like anything that is darker is wrong. To understand what I mean it’s like someone saying don’t feel anger, jealousy or any negative emotions which everyone will feel at one point or another. Also didn’t align with my personal beliefs so it could be great for someone else who only wants the lighter side of things. On the bright side it does include some good and easy rituals to do.
My kind of book. Full of the F word and not taking itself too seriously while still offering very practical advice and guidance. I really loved the simple practices to get you familiar with materials and processes. I know it's not for everyone and in-depth it is not, but it's lighthearted fun.
"...activism has a long history of being a risky endeavor...you don't want to bring glass...which could break and cut you if you get shoved around...And if you're coming from a place of privilege, be prepared to put yourself in front of anyone in your group who doesn't share that privilege. Yours gives you an advantage they don't have." WTF. I'm so upset that I wasted my money reading this far-leftist political book written by some Reptilian, I'm sure. The fact is that no one in America has more privilege than another unless you are rich. So, yeah, all the rich bitches should risk their physical well-being to protect the poorer folk...I'm joking. This is not a book on magick. And it's a terrible approach to making a coven unless you're a zombie. I wish I had a physical copy of this book so I could burn it.
As a witch I have found that too many think of light only when it comes to the craft. I do not believe in that and this book is great for a Wiccan activist and that isn't me. It does hold some good truths and advice and I will take that with me but, this book is not for those who believe in the multiscale of greys that sometimes comes from other practices of witchcraft.
