Those legends from the scrolls that spoke of breeding mates and bonding ceremonies— they were just the lost ways of history. Fuel for imagination.
Until I saw her. Now, it’s my reality.

Life has been a prison for Max since the first moment aliens arrived to colonize Earth. She doesn’t feel much differently now that she’s under house arrest for her associations with an Anti Alien gang that her father helped to found. She wants out, but she’ll need some cash if she’s going to escape the clutches of the gang’s leader… who just so happens to be her controlling ex-boyfriend. When an alien comes to her with a proposal— help him study the so-called “mating bond” between them for a payout— Max decides a little experimentation is a small price to pay for a chance to pay her debts.

Since an attack on his home planet nearly extinct his species, Kiva knows he’ll have to put aside his beloved research project and focus on ways to help the few remaining members of the Kar’Kali race. However, he’s suddenly become the subject of the exact ancient mating call he’s spent so long reading about in dusty old texts. How can he turn down an opportunity to experience what he’s only ever theorized about?

In the Virgin Warriors of Kar'Kal series, a team of scientists from a warrior race will discover that the mating call of their ancestral culture is not as suppressed as they thought it was. One by one they will fall victim to their fated mate, and all the unpredictable feelings that come with her...

The Alien’s Criminal de Gemma Voss Serie Virgin Warriors of Kar’Kal libro 2

Argumento:

Ok but how precious is Kiva? He is such the little puppy dog and consent king. Both he and Max were dealt terrible hands in life and had very different ways of dealing with it. Then again, he had a support system and she was utterly alone. Their meet disaster was horrifying but funny after the fact.
I’m enjoying the continuation of the overarching plot from book one and I’m looking forward to the next book!

Spice: 3.5/5

Triggers: violence, gore, attempted SA, discussion of past SA and domestic violence, stalking, house arrest, attempted kidnapping, murder, kidnapping of side character discussed, genocide and war (off page), cult, panic attacks, PTSD

The Alien's Criminal picks up right after the final act of The Alien's Handler. The meet cute? Maxine hits Kiva with a baseball bat when he breaks into her house to help rescue Ella 😂 And that's how Kiva finds out Maxine is his mate 😂 But Maxine is quickly arrested for being connected to Ella's kidnappers.

Gemma Voss has mastered the art of writing cinnamon roll Alphas, who also happen to be virgins. It sounds like a strange combination, but trust me, it WORKS!! Kiva is nerdy cinnamon roll who gets very excited about SCIENCE. He's very perky and chatty. Maxine is a grumpy and prickly heroine with a chip on her shoulder. And they are honestly perfect for each other 😍
"Sorry," he says with a chuckle. "I can't resist teasing you. Your fierce face delights me."
Maxine is on house arrest and Kiva wants to get to know his mate better. So he approaches her with a plan to study their mating for ~SCIENCE~ 😏 Kiva is perky and chatty around Maxine, who is pretty much grumpy all the time. According to Maxine, Kiva has a case of puppy-dog face 🥺 and she has a hard time resisting someone as adorable and sexy as Kiva. And so Maxine slowly starts softening toward Kiva as she gets to know him better.

Kiva and Maxine are so darn sweet together. Maxine is prickly, but Kiva isn't afraid of her thorns. Instead, he's in awe of her strength and he understands why she needs to protect herself. Kiva tends to ramble on and on about science, but Maxine never gets annoyed with him.She actually loves listening to him 🥺 I love the way they fell in love. There was good build up and great character and relationship development. The romance is slow burn-ish, with EXCELLENT 🥵🔥 payoff 🔥🥵

The final act is action-packed and there is a revelation about the Kar’Kali that I think will be explored further in the next book. I enjoyed the ending a lot, especially with Maxine and Ella bonding. But some leftover problems are conveniently resolved off page, so we don't get to find out what happened in detail. And I'm still not sure how the Alliance explained that video of Kiva to the public?

Anyway, I am SO PUMPED for Pakka and Jen!! I love this series!!

Alien Virgin

I don’t like it when a big deal is made about female virginity in a romance book. But when the sexy alien dude is a naive virgin? Love it! I really hope there are more books in this series

J’aime de plus en plus cette saga. L’intrigue est vraiment prenante, l’histoire ne repose pas uniquement sur le smut et les mmc sont tous Green flag. Je viens de découvrir que le reste existe qu’en ebook.. je suis dégoûtée

I love virgin warriors but I did not love this book as much as the first.
This book gets more into the overarching story and less on relationship and steamy parts.
Also, I like my virgin pure, not steeped in research. But I did like his “style” (if ya get my drift ). HOT!
Definitely moving on to book 3.

Virgin rating:
Innocence of virgin hero: 4/5 - never had an erection until he met her but did a lot of research before-hand.
Innocence in losing it: 3/5 - did the research but still had questions
Build up to losing it: 5/5
Hotness of losing it: 5/5
Busted touching himself: no
POV of losing it: female

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was fairly clean, with occasional typos that will hopefully be fixed in the retail version. The world building was okay, though the technology and culture of future Earth is not especially well described. The characterization is great, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and organic, with a heat level of three chili peppers. The plot was tight and exciting, and as a consequence the pacing was swift. There was a medium amount of well justified angst and high stakes throughout this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Mars Needs Women trope, the Inexperienced Hero trope, and the Fated Mates trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were both four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. The novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sci-fi romances that celebrate love and emotions as an essential virtue. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will not buy myself a keeper copy of this novel at the present time.

This is a great book. Kiva is from a race called the Kar'Kali, what little of them there are left. They have a distincts signs when they come into contact with their mate which Kiva, a scientist, is trying to investigate and then he meets Max, his mate. He starts to feel all the signs of the Mating Call which is something that is feared for his race and he, nerd that he is which you have to love him for, decides to run his relationship with Max as an experiment. Earth is not a great place to be and there is all kinds of propaganda against the aliens. Max has so far pretty much believed what has been said but she is not one to truly hurt anyone. Max's ex has a hold over her and is trying to use it to hurt the aliens through KIva. There is a lot of action, it is fast-paced to but the scenes with Kiva and Max are endearingly sweet. I really want to know what is in store for the others.

Oh the emotions coming off the pages to wrap you in a secretly revealing cloud of tension with the ability to get under your skin and make your heart soar! This was a bit different for me but it was engaging and well thought out! It gripped me from the first words until the very last one was read! I am glad that Miss Voss wrote these characters the way she did all are fallible and contrite with a dollop of staining emotion that will have you screaming at your kindle to get it to the point that it envelops you within its grasp! Really well written story that will keep you on the edge of your seat while allowing you to live through these characters!

Saving His People . . .

Max is under house arrest with no hope of escape without money. So when an alien comes to her asking her to help with studying the “mating bond” that he has only ever read about in books, she figures the money he will pay her will make it worth experimenting with him.

Kiva’s home planet had been attacked and his people were dying out. But working with Max, he is finding out that the ancient mating call he’s spent so long studying might actually be true! His people will begin to find their fated mates and very strong feelings they have never experienced will come flooding in! How are they going to deal with this? Will Kiva and Max be leading the way for them?

Kiva meets his mate when she's being arrested for crimes against the Kar'Kali. He's been taught that the mate bond brings out the beast, and as a scientist and a man he's afraid to let go. Max has to learn how to trust, something she lost many years ago, but something about Kiva draws her to him and they both can't seem to want to give that up. Underneath their romance is a dark secret that they uncover. Loved the storyline, the worldbuilding and thought the characters were well written. Can't wait to see what's next!

Max is a prisoner just like the aliens that have come to colonize Earth. She want out but she needs resources that she doesn't have. Kiva give her a proposal to help him study the "mating bond." If it gets her out of her situation she'll go along with anything. I won't tell you how this is going to end. There is action, adventure, mate bonding, sexual tension passion, misunderstandings and the ending. If you like Sci-Fi you will love this story. Can't wait until the next story. Highly recommend. The hero is so excited to study being part of a "breeding pair" now that he's found his mate. The heroine wants nothing to do with an alien. She agrees after he promises to pay her money as a voluntary participant in an experiment. So he's constantly measuring his hormone levels and running tests on both of them. He is just so enthusiastic about everything.

I'd call this grumpy sunshine but the hero is the sunshine and the heroine is grumpy.

I’ve read two books since finishing this one I have to get better at reviewing before my brain dumps all memory of a book!! I loved this one, I do feel like we’re missing some fun scenes from these books though, maybe the author doesn’t want them to feel repetitive but there’s certain scenes…that would come with this type of MMC…I wouldn’t get tired of reading…iykyk

An excellent story. What Kiva goes through to convince Maxine that they are Mates is strange and yet endearing at the same time. The ending is heart stopping and on the edge of your seat scary. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

DNF 80%: This was triggering for me as someone who has experienced emotional abuse. This shouldn’t be surprising for anyone who read the first one. The writing is good, but I don’t feel like I can give it a fair rating since the reason it upset me was fairly personal.

Clueless virgin alien with sexy Dr. Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds vibes. So smart, but so dumb. This book was very entertaining. The only thing that kept it from being a five star read was that the bad guy was a bit too real—I was too worried at times to relax into the silly.

I liked this book! It was slow the first half of the book, but picked up a lot in the second half. Also the both characters personalities changes completely in like the last 20% of the book.
