With the recent rapid increases in housing prices in Australia (and around the world), this is a timely book for those seeking help in buying their own home. Written by an American real estate veteran Yvonne Aileen, ‘How to Buy a House’ is a useful step by step guide for novices. Chapters include definitions, finance, inspection, budgets and closure documents. Whilst not specific to Australia, there are some handy pointers generally applicable to most house buyers. Overall, a convenient guide for people thinking of getting into the housing market - a three-star rating. With thanks to NetGalley and the author for a preview copy for review purposes. All opinions expressed herein are freely given and totally my own.

This book was received as an ARC from 800 Muses in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I learned a lot of new information from this book and it could not have come at a better time since my husband and I are in the process of buying our first home. There were a lot of insights and tips that I never thought to consider and Yvonne Aileen does a wonderful job in providing a detailed description on why these steps and tips are important especially when applying for loans and for negotiating with the sellers. I will definitely be buying a copy not only for the library but for my personal collection as well so my husband and I can be as ready as possible and have a painless house buying experience.

We will consider adding this title to our Real Estate collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

This is a great book with lots of tips for who's trying to buy a house. It's easy to follow and it's very organized with all the informations I needed. I already own a house and we're now looking for our second and forever home and I found this book very helpful. I know must of this stuff because I've gone through it before but this is the kind of book I would love to have when we first got our house. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

Thank you to Net Galley and 800 Muses for an e-ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. This book came at a timely point for me as we're struggling with how to buy a home. This book isn't highly complicated, which should make it a good choice for most people. I found myself highlighting some of the information, and I'll definitely use some of the tips.

A very interesting read.
We have been living in our current house for 30 years and have absolutely no interest in moving. Never the less I enjoyed the read - both the content and the delivery.
Thanks for a walk I hope I can avoid taking again.

A decent (potential) step-by-step process and things to look for that people could look into and getting a home. Some of the terms may be termed differently outside of the US.
