Interesting book, great illustrations. However, there seemed to be only one mention of the fact that dragons are “mythical” (a word which I wonder if most children will understand) and the rest of the detailed information about dragons (lifestyle, different types, etc.) seemed to come across as fact rather than fiction. I wonder if the book’s intended audience may be confused by this?

I didn't want to read this at bedtime to my 5 year old since the first page shows a dragon attacking a village, but we read it during the day and he loved it. It gave my little guy lots of great dragon facts, with wonderful pictures. We can't wait to read the others in the series.

Nice introduction to dragons for very young children and students who are curious. Part of the Mythical Creatures series from Picture Window Books.
