Never touch a grumpy bunny... Unless it’s in this book! Children will love meeting the grumpy animals in this touch-and-feel book. Each page features a different incredible bumpy touch to explore. With fun, rhyming text and awesome animal illustrations from Stuart Lynch, this book will keep little ones happy for hours. Animal-filled book with amazing silicone touches to explore.
We got given this beautiful book by a friend Evgenia for Easter 🐇
Phoebe absolutely loves this book because it contains different textures to touch. She gets excited when she finds them and keeps going multiple times to touch them.
We ended up reading this book 3 times each time with all her giggles of excitement.
My daughter might be six but she still loves this series of board books. They're so tactile and full of rainbow loveliness that you just can't help but want to interact with the book at any age. I don't think you'd be able to resist! Our favourite tactile page is the owl holding ice cream at the back.
Although we've got 'grumpy' animals the book tells you exactly how you can help your animal friends cheer up.
These books are suitable from birth but the writing means that children return to these books as they begin to develop their reading skills. Sensory seekers like us will probably enjoy them FOREVER!
I am all for warning children about jungle dangers at an early age, BUT:
1. The messaging is hopelessly contradictory. On the one hand, the authors warn not to touch a grumpy bunny but on the other hand (accidentally?) place textures/colors on the bunny's tummy that practically INVITES babies to touch said bunny. This mistake is repeated again and again with other animals.
2. I found the theme a bit repetitive and heavy-handed. We get it, guys: you don't want us to pet irritable animals. (Or do you? See my above point.) No need to rub it in.
Definitely Parker’s favorite series because of all the rubber bits and pieces added to the animals, in this case Easter specific animals. It’s a sensory extravaganza with plenty of charming rhymes warning you off from touching these adorable grumpy beasts. But, if I can’t resist myself, I certainly can’t expect my little guy not to experience all the lumps, bumps, and ridges.
This series of books is great for little ones. The sensory textures catches their attention and makes it easy to read to them. My little loves to bring one of them to us atleast once a day. I also love that majority of the story is written in cursive but there are some words that are put in really big, bold, colorful and in print for kids to easily pick out and start to recognize.
I purchased this book for my grandchild for Easter and it was a hit. It is a funny book warning the reader to NEVER touch a grumpy bunny and of course the child reading it will immediately want to touch the bunny! It is a cute, funny, brightly illustrated touch and feel book.
This was actually surprisingly cute - and also contained practical advice (really, you should not touch a bunny that is grumpy...!). M liked it too. It would probably make a nice gift for Easter / spring for a kid three or under.
I have read this book with my toddler twice a night and when she cant sleep she wants to read it repeatedly. I think I have it memorized by now. She loves being able to read the colorful words and touch the different patterns on each page. Definitely a hit in our house!
I picked this one up for E. as he loves the series, and I’m a fan of bunnies since we have them in our yard. It’s a fun way to talk about nature with an almost five month old.
This one is a really good! Some new texture-techniques in here which are bold and push the boundaries on what a "Never Touch a..." book can do. Hope to see more variations, like a chewable component or something.
Our little one loves this touch-and-feel book! Good sensatory pages, fun puns, and enough color for them to be engaged for quite a while! Only downside is almost everything is a couplet, but one of the couplets is only a slant rhyme, which throws off the vibe for me personally.
My daughter's favorite series of books at the moment. This was a new one to replace an old one that she had read so many times it fell apart. Just as good with the words and sensory additions.
