With the surprising return of Logan Walker, suspended paranatural agent Alyssa Crawford hopes to get some answers as to what the hell is going on. But when a rival pack shifter pledges to help, Alyssa pieces together that an alliance has been formed between the packs due to a brewing war between humans, witches, and shifters. Just when things seem like they can’t get any messier, Capucha calls in his favor. He wants Alyssa to look into the murder of his sister. Her body has been destroyed and poison is listed as the cause of death, but Capucha insists that isn’t true. And when he reveals how he knows, Alyssa realizes he’s more dangerous than she initially believed.
The deeper Alyssa looks into the death, the more she realizes that not everyone is who they say they are. Now, with things heating up with Marcus, she must decide if he’s someone she can trust…or if he’s destined to betray her in the end.

My name is Adam Dark.

I write horror and paranormal stories based on my vivid dreams. It's the best way that I know of to get the demons out and onto paper. I hope they haunt you and leave your heart pumping like they do me.

I established my first LLC. when I was ten years old. My friends were my first employees. Other than sharing my stories with others, I love making videos on YouTube. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million. I've directed two movies so far. You can find them on YouTube at Super Plus Toys.

Outside of writing, I spend most of my time playing guitar or golf. Travel is also high on my list of leisure activities. I've been to seven countries within Europe and plan to visit many more in the years to come. The richness of other cultures is thrilling!

I have a pet tarantula named Venom; a dog named Emma; and cat named Ellie. They are my secret confidants to the mysterious worlds I create. I have both an American and Danish passport. Feel free to ask me more about my Polish heritage.

Some other things I enjoy are rock n' roll, public speaking, broccoli (I know, isn't that weird!), school, and heart-wrenching horror movies that leave me clinging to the seat. While I love learning, I dislike homework, disrespectful and rude people, senseless drama, and bullies. There is no room for hatred. We only have one life to live; let's do it to the best that we can and treat everyone with love and kindness.

Our heroine has divided loyalties, but she knows what needs to be done. The question is who should she turn to make it happen?

This is book four of the series, but it does just fine as a standalone. While there is some backstory missing, all the essential bits are covered early on.

This is an intense urban fantasy story. The story is well written and easy to read, but that doesn't mean it is simple by any means. The setting is complex with many different factions with different agendas. The characters are similarly complex and the plot has more twists than a licorice rope. Put all of that together and shake and you have a highly engaging story that is hard to put down. It also helps that are heroine is smart and tough, just the kind of heroine I like. Overall, a great story and I am definitely looking forward to reading more in this series.

Highly recommended.

He did what?

Once again I am staying up late, on the edge of my seat, craving more! I haven’t got a clue as to who is the murderer, and the good guys are dropping like flies. The Alpha has returned & dropped a bombshell, and war is eminent. Alyssa is stuck between the criminals and the cops.
The authors have me hooked and I’m looking forward to moving on to the next book.

4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I do love this series but this book is slowing up the mystery pace a bit. That being said, I will binge the next book right away. I need a LOT of suspense to keep me interested in longer series so that is definitely a "me" problem. There are still a lot of mystery and unanswered questions and can't wait to follow what happens.

I haven't put 5 stars like the previous 3 books because of the "slower" pace and because there are small details that are annoying me about the FMC because it doesn't seem coherent with what I learned of her so far. Minors details that I am putting aside easily because of how much I love the serie and want those answers. Like she is a bad ass cop who has a very strong sense of justice but she is having a magic fight with her boss to be put back on a case...it just doesn't fit with the character for me.

She knows she shouldn't go to the pack land because she is unwelcome but she is going anyway without backup or telling anyone....I mean, you could always call Marcus first and let him know you are on your way there to avoid the drama/fight with the pack..

She has a super good intuition as a detective but once or twice she made super obvious mistake IMO and I am not a cop...like put glove before touching thing in a crime scene...

Like I said, very minor details that doesn't really take away from the story... This is just me " thinking out loud" and trying to dissect my super picky brain to understand why I am almost always losing interest in long series.

“Whisper of the Wolves” the already fourth installment in Adam Dark & Matthew Thrush’s “Call of the Wolf” series, is even better than its three predecessors, adding another healthy dose of action, drama and suspense into the overall plot.

Alyssa finally breaks Matthew out of jail and things get heating from there on. When Logan returns, Alyssa expect some kind on insight on the overall situation, but with the alliance between the pack, an all-war between shifters, witches and humans seem unavoidable, and as El Capucha offers to help the things get really messy real soon. This time Alyssa is out of her depth, and has to decide who to thrust, Marcus, El Capucha, maybe even Logan… and it’s not as any of them seems fully trustworthy anyway 😉

“Call of the Wolf” is a thrilling paranormal romance series, that entices with fast-paced action and captivates the reader with a very well-crafted fantasy world, interesting characters and intelligent plots that blends mystery and procedural tropes with fast-paced urban fantasy action.

FUGITIVES AND LIARS

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

This story picks up with Alyssa finding out that Marcus’s father, Logan, is alive. Things get hairy when Logan is arrested for murder after he says he killed the High Priestess to prevent Marcus from going to jail after Alyssa is suspended from both of her jobs.

The dynamics between Alyssa and Marcus seem to still be up in the air. Adding in El Capucha and the special agent Starburns and sparks begin to fly. I loved Alyssa’s dedication to Marcus and finding out the truth, along with wanting to fulfill her promised. I didn’t like that Marcus seemed a little non-alpha-ish and stupid. He seemed reckless and thoughtless. Not good traits for an alpha.

The meshing of everyone’s traits and the willingness of people to break the law made the story more interesting, even when you know it’s ending with a cliff-hanger that makes you want to know what happens next.

A tangled web of murders!

There are too many murders and too many suspects. This case is like a ball of tangled yarn and it is making Alyssa’s head spin. She is trying to honor her promise to El Capucha in return for finding Logan Walker but the body of El Capucha’s murdered sister is taken from the morgue before she can inspect it. The Shadow Force has turned on Alyssa and has her in their sights and the supernatural war is bubbling just below the surface. Alyssa wants to get back in with the police but she doesn’t want it to be in handcuffs.

This series just keeps getting better! The intrigue and plot twists kept me guessing and the paranormal battles were exciting. I wasn’t ready for it to end and as always, the cliff-hanger ending was frustrating but tantalizing. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

The plot thickens. Logan Walker has been found and seems to want what’s best for the pack. To save Marcus he admits to the High Priestess’ murder even though they all know he didn’t do it. Alyssa finds out more secrets. About fire witches and fire mages nearby, that a psychic witch might be responsible for the killings, that her former dead boss was keeping secrets about herself, and the powers some of the shadow agents have. Who is innocent and who is guilty. And what is the ultimate goal? War? They now suspect Marcus’ brother is behind everything but when Alyssa and Marcus confront his father for answers, his father unexpectedly turns on him. Who has gotten to him and why? Is Marcus the only one Alyssa can trust in this whole mess? Are they the only ones wanting to find out what is going on? Rcvd an advanced reader copy from Booksprout of giving my two cents. The plot thickens as Alpha Walker emerges from the bunker alive and well. El Capucha actually came through...now Alyssa owes him a favour...yikes. A surprise attack leaves agents and wolves wounded and the Alpha admitting to murder. What is going on? Alyssa can't keep up with all the drama and on top of that the mobster has called in his favour...oh goodie!! There was a witch murdered and he wants to know what happened hence the favour. What Alyssa doesn't understand is what made this witch so important. She decides to venture into an area most people are too afraid to go to find some truths but what she learns could help her be put back on the force...but at what cost? There's a lot of detail in this book that you don't want to give away any of the juicy deets.

Alyssa is still investigating, trying to keep ahead of those chasing them, trying to find answers, and this book picks up from where the last one left us. Will there be any more betrayals? Can Alyssa tease some answers out of people? Or will have to keep trying harder to piece together what happened. What about Marcus? will they finally get a chance to work things out, or have to give up on each other? I loved this page turning paranormal thriller, I love Alyssa (and hope she gets more breaks), and I look forward to the next book.

The mystery continues to deepen the further into the series we get and this is no exception. More and more questions arise while trying to uncover the truth. We get to see some new magic and dynamics added in with some characters that have had smaller roles in the previous books edge into the spotlight a little more. This mystery will have you all tangled up in its web in a heartbeat.

Having been following this series I quickly enter this one. I wanted to see where this went next. Oh boy we get back Logan and then Alyssa hopes to get answers she sure gets a few. with war coming they need all the allies they can get. With that big favor she now has to do it gets even stickier but also more of a tie to keep us in this. This one is also big on showing us about trust. I got so far into this one it was a surprise when I was on the last page.

Great read! Interesting plot with twists that keep you turning the pages. The characters are well developed and intriguing. It’s a shifter page turner you should not miss! Alyssa is a strong main character and not a pushover for the alpha werewolf. The storyline is intriguing and will keep you turning the pages! Alyssa is investigating murders and the powerful men with whom she has formed alliances. This book doesn’t have a cliffhanger ending it gives you bit to get you ready for the next book.

Anthony has a different view on how he should run the wolf pack. Alpha wolf has came home to rejoin his family. There are more questions than answers about who, why, where did Alpha Walker go.
