I really enjoyed this Workbook. I was so excited when I got the book. I used this fairly regular as a wind down activity at night. I found myself looking forward to the end of day to see what I was going to do. It is nice having the reminders for Kindness and what to do for yourself. There are so many different activities to do. Some of them required more thinking than others. And I found that the days I was most stressed and not having a good day, that is when I would be where I needed to think more about the activity was and it helped me decompress and let go of the day. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. I have actually picked up a couple to give to family and friends for the holidays. I do wish that there was a second book to continue on after finishing this one.

Thank you to @bythebookvbp and @robinravenvegan for giving me the chance to read and review this wonderful book. This review is my opinion and mine alone.

This is such a good book! I'm all about spreading kindness and the activities in this book are wonderful. I read pages/did activities at night once my little one was asleep, and taking that time for myself each night really made a difference! I'm still going through this book and I plan to keep coming back to it even when I'm done. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have a more positive mindset 💕

Thank you @robinravenvegan and @bythebookvbp for this gifted copy! 💕🤗🎆. During the time of the pandemic, all of us have had many kinds of challenges that we have been facing including last minute changed plans, unexpected illness, or even exhaustion/fatigue/burnout from zoom/pandemic or a combination of both. Now, more than ever, Robin Raven’s interactive workbook is a perfect gift to yourself - which helps us begin the new year with a positive thought.

The author gives us as readers suggestions to begin everyday as a new day including thinking of positive affirmations, creating kind passes, expanding your family trees, write a letter to your parents, and so on. As I have been awaiting feedback of my dissertation submission, my anxiety has been high. Completing this workshop helped me get through the good and the difficult days.

This is a wonderful book to begin the new year with!

THE KINDNESS WORKBOOK - An Interactive Guide for Creating Compassion in Yourself and the World
By: Robin Raven @robinravenvegan
@simonandschuster

As a New Year 2022 approaches, the word "kindness" has a meaningful role in bringing out the best in humanity. Robin Raven's workbook is a small but powerful resource chock full of interactive activities designed to incorporate kindness in our day to day lives. By doing so, joy, love, compassion and social connections are multiplied.
I love the concept of hands-on projects, so get ready to create, expand, write, focus, and celebrate as you move toward a deeper mindset of thoughtfulness. Each activity is clearly presented in a motivating way, and also contains a message on how to "keep it going!" Raven delivers a wide variety of lessons ranging from practicing forgiveness, meditation, and artistic expression projects using colorful markers & art supplies.
The ideas Raven shares with us in her workbook are imaginative and inspired. Whether utilizing it as an individual or within a group such as a book club, users will find it an innovative way to embrace and expand kindness at its deepest level.

I'm a visual person. I retain better when I am actually doing something towards self-care. I can't believe I was lucky enough to have this fall in my lap.

For the most part, I am happy and well-rounded. There are days though, sometimes weeks, when I spiral and am unnecessarily hard on myself. I know this. I feel this but I can't stop this.

Choosing kindness, not only to myself, but to those around me is work. Being stuck at home more often in the last few years has had a toll on things and I sometimes forget to be kind, to be ME.

This interactive workbook is exactly what I needed. Not only does it give great ideas on HOW to be kinder, it gives activities while also providing ideas that make YOU contemplate and reimagine moments in your day.

I love that there is also a section on how to nurture kindness in others. This is something we desperately need in today's society. Self-care is so important because how can we help others unless we know how to help ourselves as well.

I can't recommend this one enough. I sincerely appreciate the publisher and By the Book Virtual Book Promoters for providing me with a review copy. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.

We could all use a little more kindness in our lives. Fortunately, Robin Raven is here to save the day. These exercises are an easily accessible way to promote kindness in every aspect of your life, whether you need to learn to silence your inner critic, keep your batteries charged, set healthy boundaries, or put yourself in a loved one's shoes. Robin's practical tips are the perfect antidote to the pandemic malaise so many of us are feeling these days. When you're picking up a copy for yourself, grab an extra to pass along to a friend in need of a pick-me-up.

Who couldn't nurture their acts of kindness they put out into the world? I love that Raven's workbook explores not only how to show and act upon kindness in others, but kindness to self. I am a fiction reader and writer, and this workbook has been like a breath of fresh air: easy to pick up and utilize in bits and pieces...no need to go through it linearly if you prefer not to. I'm going through it with my partner and talking about our answers and insights as we go.

A lot of the books I review are fiction, which is perfectly lovely since I love fiction, but occasionally something non-fiction crosses my review desk and it is always a nice thing to expand my horizons and explore the world around me instead of one inside my head. Robin Raven’s The Kindness Workbook especially did that.

1. Thoughts on the premise (as there’s no real plot to a workbook)
This book is an exploration of kindness in both yourself and the world. It pushes you to examine your desires and dreams and habits in such a way that you do so in a kinder way to yourself. Then, it gives ways that you can engage in active kindness with the world around you, be it with friends or family or complete strangers. It has many different activities, and you can either go through them all or decide which are most pertinent and work through those.
I like the idea of trying to instill a larger element of kindness in the world and in my own life. I think that there is a great deal these days that does not even take kindness into account, which is quite sad. So actively pursuing such things is a great idea.

2. Favourite part
I like the call to introspection in most of this book. It pushes the reader to actually think about their own wishes, dreams, actions and thoughts, creating something kind and beautiful from those things. It doesn’t put the reader down in any way, just nudges into a pattern that is productive and kind. That, I think, was done spectacularly well.

3. Critique
I think I am not the intended audience for a lot of these exercises, which makes it difficult for me to judge how efficacious these will be. For one, I am autistic, so my brain literally does not think or work in the same was as neurotypical people. Therefore, a lot of the emotional connections or sensory assignments would either be very difficult for me to do, or they would require me to mask, which is the opposite of what I think this book is trying to achieve. That does not mean I can’t find benefit in the book; I really do like the concept and some of the exercises are useful for people who do not often spend time introspecting and examining their goals and thoughts. Nor do I think that this book is irrelevant to people who are neurodivergent—on the contrary, it may be very useful. It just has a few more pieces that are not useful for me specifically, so I cannot provide a completely objective review.

Overall, I think that The Kindness Workbook is an idea that should be aspired to. Instilling kindness and bringing about intentional thinking and actions is a very admirable goal, and these activities are a great place to start that journey. A good book.

Title: The Kindness Workbook: An Interactive Guide for Creating Compassion in Yourself and the World

Leading you through introspective exercises, The Kindness Workbook shows you how to integrate kindness into your life and spread it to others. Best of all, your kindness to others may persuade them to pay it forward, spreading goodwill and making the world a more peaceful, pleasant, and connected place.

Review: This workbook was so calming and refreshing to do the activities as you read the book! This workbook shows you how you can integrate kindness into your daily life and to spread the kindness to other people as well! A big part of kindness is being kind to yourself which a lot of people may not do very often or at all! You must be kind to yourself in order to be kind to others! This book shows you with different exercises to do each day for a few minutes how you can change it! I resonated with the section where the people you surround yourself with is important! It is also very important if the people are toxic to distance yourself from them! I genuinely feel that everyone should use this workbook! It is very relaxing and it’s not a book that you complete in one sitting! This is a great reminder that we should treat ourselves with respect and love!

There is just something about writing things down, amiright? Whether it is a list, a handwritten thank you note, or an interactive journal or workbook, the act of writing just makes it more personal and, therefor, more special. More real, if you will.

Reading through this interactive journal is like having THE best hype woman cheering you on. I firmly believe that we don’t even realize how often we are negative to ourselves in our lives. I try to always look at the bright side of things, but this workbook opened my eyes to ways in which I can be kinder to myself in my thoughts. And if we are kinder to ourselves, we can pay that forward with kindness to others. If there is one thing our world needs and lacks right now it is kindness and compassion.

So five big and heartfelt ⭐️ for this beautiful little book of magic that will, hopefully, make this world just a little bit better for those who have read it, journaled in it, followed its words, and paid it forward.

Thank you to Robin Raven, Simon & Schuster and @bythebookvbp for the complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

In light of Covid and all of the unrest of the last few years, I encourage everyone to try The Kindness Workbook and let it help you be a more compassionate person for not only the world around you but, most importantly, yourself. 💕

Thank you @katerockbooktours and @robinravenvegan for my beautiful and #gifted kindness workbook!

~ Manifest kindness within yourself and kick- start a positive ripple effect in the world with this interactive workbook to cultivating kindness. ~

We've all heard the insightful quote, "treat yourself the way you want others to treat you"... Which, can ultimately change the way other people treat you- simply by changing or improving the way you treat yourself. Read that again.

Robin Ray's compassionate and transformative workbook on kindness is a focus on just that: first, how to be kinder to yourself and second, how to nurture kindness in others.

Through mindfulness, journaling, and learning self- compassion, Ray guides her readers through learning and understanding the power of kindness with ninety- five reflective exercises, activities, mindful meditations, and more. Each activity has the goal of integrating kindness in your life or spreading kindness to others.

It is a calming, positive, and reflective workbook that will be an excellent gift of self- care or to gift to loved ones.

This interactive workbook came at a time when I was looking to incorporate more kindness into my daily life. What a great tool for self-reflection and meditation to create a kind space in my heart to share with the world.

Robin's book has a wide variety of exercises that are helping me see where kindness originates within me and how that informs my actions out in the world every day. There are enough exercises in this volume to keep me working on and thinking about how to consistently create compassion and understanding in my life for months to come.

One of the best things about this workbook is that you can do the exercises in any order. Select an exercise based on your mood or a specific topic you want to work on. This makes the process more accessible and encourages you to get started with whatever speaks to you.

I'm looking forward to sharing this workbook with my family. I think it will be a great way to get my kids to reflect on all the things kindness encompasses and teach them to be kinder not only to others but also to themselves.

I also think this would make a thoughtful gift for people looking to incorporate more kindness into their lives or who are struggling with being kind to themselves.

I can think of no better book to begin 2022 with than THE KINDNESS WORKBOOK by Robin Raven which I hope will set the tone for the new year!

Divided into two sections, one focused on being kinder to yourself, the other on spreading kindness to others, the interactive workbook is full of activities to promote compassion, establish priorities, and develop loving-kindness.

A reader could go through the exercises from the beginning to the end of the book or pick and choose the ones that resonate. I particularly appreciated the variety—some focused on written reflection but others on music or using art. Each one also included a “keep it going” strategy. I also liked that Raven acknowledged negative emotions and avoided toxic positivity.

One of Raven’s exercises is to start a Kindness Book Club, beginning with a list of inspirational books as well as those that promote empathy, like anti-racism books. Which one(s) would you include?

Thanks to @letstalkbookspromo, @robinravenvegan, and @simonandschuster/ @adams_media for including me on the book tour and for a gifted copy of the book!

Is there something that you would like to improve about yourself?💕
I feel like I’m always a work in progress, there are always things I’m trying to improve.
The Kindness Workbook, An Interactive Guide for Creating Compassion in Yourself and the World by Robin Raven is a great tool to get started!
There is something about this book that is very soothing to me. It almost feels very meditative to work through this. I love introduction: “Kindness can change the world and empower you to live a more joyful and fulfilling life.” I love that this book starts with learning how to be kind to yourself. I think it can be easier, sometimes, to be kind to others but to forget about yourself.
Alyssa was able to help me by posing for this photo but she didn’t get to use this book, after sifting through it, she already wants one too!
If you enjoy taking time to work on yourself or if you want to help spread kindness, I think you would really enjoy this!
Thank you @katerockbooktours for this incredible copy!

In Raven's workbook, there's also kindness to oneself, so I love that it involves showing and acting upon kindness both to others and to oneself. There you have it: a workbook with a breath of fresh air: easy to pick up, and easy to use in bits and pieces; an instructional step-by-step guide to getting you started. Afterward, I consult with those who matter most to me about what I've learned. I prefer this method. While I read through the interactive journal, I felt like I was having THE MOST talented hype woman cheer me on. Our lives are dominated by negative thoughts most of the time, and we don't even recognize how often we do that to ourselves. I always strive to see the positive side of things. In spite of this, I became more aware of ways that I can be kind to myself in my thoughts as a result of this workbook. Kindness to ourselves can lead to kindness to others as well. At the moment, our world is lacking kindness and compassion.

This workbook provides exercises that help you learn to be kinder to themselves and others. I particularly liked the section on self-talk, because a lot of people talk more harshly to themselves than they ever would to others.

The section on drawing an inner map really opened my eyes on some things about myself. And the thought of meditation as just taking some time out to imagine a kinder world really spoke to me as well. There are many other chapters that will help you look at kindness--to yourself, and others, in different ways. This is a workbook you can go through at your own pace, and it may help you look at life in a new and kinder way.

I would recommend this to everyone, because we can all be kinder to ourselves and others.

I received a free copy of this book from the publishers. My review is voluntary and my opinions are my own.

The Kindness Workbook is a class in learning to be more kind. It is composed of ninety-five exercises that will show you how to add more kindness into your everyday life. It begins by teaching you to be kinder to yourself and progresses to showing you ways to learn empathy for others as well as inspiring you to put kindness into action. Some of the exercises I liked most were the guided meditations, the techniques to reduce judgmental thoughts, and the ways proposed to apologize with care and sincerity.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have to say I did not write in my copy of this book. My thinking for that was if I wanted to go back and do the activities again I would be able to without running into what I did the first time. I made copies of the pages. I did enjoy how it was kind of part journal and part activity book. It made me want to be a kinder and more compassionate person not only to myself but to the world around me. It would brighten my day each time I opened to do one of the activities inside. That is something I need more of in my life.

I love the premise of this book - we all could use a little more kindness. And I love that it emphasizes kindness to yourself as well as kindness to others. There are lots of great activities and thought provoking exercises to prompt kindness and help you build habits toward more intentional kindness.

This is an excellent journal for women looking for gentle ways to work through issues or simply learn how to get emotions on a piece of paper. I would recommend doing it and dating the pages....then, one year later look at those pages to see what has changed and what hasn't.

A pretty self-explanatory book. Literally.

It IS a workbook. There are no integrated life stories written within it... and I believe it is best used with friends to proactively practice instilling kindness together. (Lest we avoid Mean Girls 2.0)

One of my main personal goals this year is to work on being kinder to myself, kinder to my mind and kinder to my body.

The Kindness Workbook is a wonderful tool that guides us through exercises that promote mindfulness and activities that incorporate kindness into our daily routines.

One of my favorite chapters in this workbook focuses on Silencing Our Inner Critic. This is something I’ve been working on and I haven’t been very successful at. Although I understand how toxic a negative narrative can be to ourselves, somehow it’s my default setting.
In this workbook, the author shares tips on how to replace those negative thoughts we tell ourselves with compassionate words that can lead to a more enjoyable and kinder self.

Another routine recommended in this book is to start the day with a Positive Affirmation. I love this tip!!! I love starting my day by taking a few minutes to think and set my intention for the day. How will I encourage positive vibes in my life? By developing morning affirmations, I’m making myself accountable to look for ways to be kind to myself and others.

The Kindness Workbook : An Interactive Guide for Creating Compassion in Yourself and the World by Robin Raven is a thought provoking interactive book that gives you exercises on how to be kind to yourself and others.

Offering many activities on learning to first be kind to yourself. This was HARD. Being tough on yourself is a habit that’s hard to break. Affirmations and learning how to change your inner dialogue is something everyone can benefit from. Ultimately self love is the hardest for me. Learning that first allows everyone to then learn how to spread that love and kindness to others. Such an important thing to practice.

This is the perfect way to start the New Year and I think we all could use a little kindness in our lives.

I love this workbook and plan to continue my kindness journey through the year and carry the lessons with me.

Thanks Robin for allowing us at VBP to share this amazing introspective collection of kindness and compassion with our bloggers and the book community. We are beyond honored to share the love and spread the kindness.

Highly recommend giving this one read. You’ll learn so much about yourself. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kindness matters. ❤️
