dnf at 43%. I’m really finding this book super sweet, but extremely boring. It just doesn’t have enough plot to keep me interested.

It's the story of two guys that met in the airport just before a blizzard strikes their town. Of course, anyone that lives where it snows knows that the best laid plans...and airplanes, are often delayed...and this is what happen to them. Their flight is delayed until the storm is over, and in the meantime, they are marooned together in a luxury hotel suite with a king-sized bed...curtsey of the airline.
They had already learned that they had a great deal in common, something that both guys made several references to... so being in the same room, and in the same huge bed, was no big deal...A bit fast...but you do what you have to do. The storm raged and by day two it all begins to feel a bit claustrophobic...but they didn't care by now. The story felt a little like a Hallmark movie.
The guys share some strange fascinations during their snowstorm hotel stay, like their height difference, one was tall, and one was short...then there was what they referred to as their “gifts” and their abilities as well as how much the short guy enjoyed those "gifts". It's all initially sweet and charming to begin with, but after a time it became a bit like that extra big piece of cake… there's just so much butter-creme frosting you can take.
Romance novels are read by folks for a variety of reasons and none of those reasons are to improve your brain power....so while the sex scenes were at first pretty intense and there were an incredible number of them....no sleeping going on in that airline furnished luxury room... I don't remember the mention of any sleeping at all. Throw in a few role-play fantasies, some "toys", and a few...I kid you not...drag costumed fantasies! There were enough "scenes" to fill two or three more books.
There was also a sub-plot going on about Jude’s straight best friend having been miss treated by a fiancé that had absolutely nothing to do with what was happening and just felt like an add-on to make up word count. There were even some outrageous relatives of the two guys that carried the story along but had no rhyme or reason to be there.
As far as the story goes it started out with potential ...but the majority of it took place in the room and there wasn't much happening except in that bed. I've read this author many times before, and she is a wonderful author. I have loved her books...just not so much this one.

The MC's talked about past sexual experiences all the time - during sex as well. If there is a prize for a book having too much sex and too much ex talk, this book gets it, for sure.

I am ridiculously disappointed...
I love Ariella Zoelle, truly. Which is why this is such a WTF moment right there. What is this?? As if it is not enough they constantly talk about their exes, like all.the.time. They even talk about them during sex. And since they were all quite awful according to our main characters, then I honestly do not get how they can still be in a mood for sex during those talks. That was off-putting enough, but I soldiered through until the end. And then I got to Alice. What the ever-loving **** was that?!
So yeah. It didn't work for me. How am I supposed to believe they accept each other just as they are when they spend a lot of their time pretending to be someone else? It had potential. But the sex scenes got old fast and there was not enough plot to justify them. It is basically a porn book. A bizarre one at that.

I've had the head cold from hell and needed a pick-me-up. This sweet and sexy story was just what I needed to get out of my head and feel better. Between the cute storyline and the general love, friendship and affection the heroes share together, this one was definitely a winner for me. I can't wait to read The next book in the series!

I am normally a fan of this author and low/no drama insta-love and I liked this book as the original novella, but this longer version just didn't do it for me. I'm all for the sext times, but this book was almost exclusively that and it just wore thin for me. Then again it could be my mood right now.

I’m going to be honest, I read this series out of order, and if I had started with this one, I might not have read the others.
The best part of this book was when they used cosplay to act out sexual fantasies. These scenes were steaming hot, but the build up was a bit slow and borderline boring.

This was super sweet, like I need to see a dentist sweet. Insta-love worked this time. Jude and Rigby are just perfect for each other. They have instant chemistry. The banter back and forth is so funny and it just flows. These two are super hot and I loved everytthing about Jude and Rigby. I will definitely check out the next book in the series too!

Whew, Jude and Rigby's story was full of heat and love! The instant chemistry and attraction was fantastic and the playfulness in the relationship was sweet. I love that this new series takes place in Sunnyside with beloved characters from the Good Bad Idea series. We get Callum and Rune in this story! I loved this book and cannot wait for the next one!

Is it forced proximity if the main characters want to be trapped together?
My favorite part of this book was the role-play...especially the scene with Arthur and Lancelot. Honestly, I'd rather have a book about Arthur and Lancelot than this story.
My issues start with the beginning. I am not a stranger to insta-love and I can enjoy the trope, but this was just too unrealistic. I realize this may be how the originally story started and I understand that authors try to pack as much as they can in a novella, but Jude and his family were just too over the top for me.
I did enjoy their meet-cute and I loved how they found things in common. Other than that, I found this book to be incredibly boring. I couldn't connect to the intimate scenes and the one with the toys was so far away from sexy. I skimmed many of the scenes, like the one with Rigby alone, because it was just not hot. I also had a hard time reading the scenes with the gender changes. Using she/her pronouns really pulled me out of the story.
I was also disappointed in the epilogue. How do I convince authors to stop ending books with a sex scene?
All in all, not the book for me. I will check out other books by this author.

This book gives all hallmark movie vibes perfectly, except for the added steamy scenes of course! Its full of tropes such as a meet cute, height difference, delayed flight, one bed and of course its love at first sight.
I enjoyed Jude and Rigbys first meeting so much, with how they charmed each other with their interests, how they talked about their families and previous relationships. Beatle references and the fact they work in the same building. The communication was just perfect throughout and I adored their romance, all of the adoration and passion for each other was lovely.
Oh and there's some incredible steamy roleplay scenes too, which was perfection the details were stunning. How they captured the characters and their fantasies, the way they did for each other was great fun. Both have their favourite stories and characters so it was entertaining to see them bring to life together, not telling who though as definitely worth read for those moments.
The scenes with Judes mum and sister were hilarious. Also Rigby bonding with Lucy over their love of manga and the crazy concepts you can find throughout. Plenty of nerdy moments that were great fun as both discuss and teach various writings, while studing specific tales as well.
Also loved the side cast in Rigby and Judes friends, I'm intrigued to read the rest of the series based on what seen of some of the cast in this book.
Overall an adorable, heated and soft romance - with kink and lovable characters alongside a large amount of tropes. Whats not to love on the road to happily ever after 💕

This is the first in a new series, and I am really going to look forward to future installments.
There is really everything to love about this book and it is just the perfect read for when you need a happy, fun and loving story. There are so many fun bits, like how they got their names, which just add a bit of depth to what is definitely a smooth sail into a serious relationship. And whilst you have to buy into instant attraction and affection, it happens from a wished for scenario, which just has to make you smile.
It is fun watching them move on from their first meeting and make the attraction stick once they are back at work and studies. Enjoy!

Having a mother and sister always thinking of romance Jude isn’t any different.
Jude is 34 years old has not had any sort of an relationship for a few years , he is always hoping a Mr Right will appear in front of him with open arms adding with a body that is sinfully sexy ..
He is still waiting...
Sometimes being snowed in at the airport unable to get hope can offer opportunities that Jude has only dreamed of.
A pair of long legs attached to a gorgeous gift of a man was also at the airport.....Rigby is his name ......
Jude with cheeky banter managed to get a place to stay overnight with Rigby .
How they progressed was eye opening very cute and funny , their attraction was from the start , add in Judes mother ,Michelle and sister Lucy , who has no filter at all.
A great read with much humour and much hotness.

Jude and Rigby OMG
I just loved these two so much. They are the perfect blend of hilarious and kinky and sweet and steamy and I adored them both. The role-playing scenes were amazing!
The story was also incredibly sweet. I’m living for insta-love these days, and their entire relationship, from meet-cute to forever, was just superb.
I can’t wait to see the other characters that were introduced get their own love stories! And it was SUPER fun to see some characters I loved from the Good Bad Idea series, too. I love that these are all set in the same universe/city.
Definitely deserves 5 stars and then some!

I tried really hard to like this but it falls under the instalove umbrella and I am not a fan of this style. I know a lot of other people love it, it's just not for me.
The author clearly knows who their characters are and they behave within the bounds of their universe. They have full backstories and a lot of care has been taken with them.
For my part, I couldn't connect with these characters. I wanted to, as I quite enjoyed this author's previous series, but the instalove combined with a lack of tension in the first half made it hard for me to finish this.

Insta-love soulmate story
There wasn’t anything wrong with this book. It’s a love at first sight soulmate story as it professes to be. But it’s very predictable and doesn’t have anything to draw you in. The whole scene at the airport was too hard to believe and while there were some spicy scenes, Rigby and Jude just fit too well together.

Jude and Rigby meet at the airport during a snowstorm. They connect quickly and decide to weather the storm in a hotel where they have only one room left. But can their quickly formed connection last the reality?
This book was a quick and adorable read. Both characters are nerds and lovable and had amazing chemistry.
What bothered me while reading was the constant mention of fate and destiny and the role-playing of the characters. I could not connect to that.
But who loves fluffy, sweet reads with no angst and a whole lot of fate talking will definitely enjoy this book.

Nothing HAPPENS. They have their meet cute at the airport, there is instalove, and they spend the next several chapters banging with no actual conflict or plot. If you just want to read sex scene after sex scene with no plot it's fine, but it's not my jam.

My Recommendation: It's a pass. A few people mentioned there's a novella version of it and I'd say maybe seek that out. The book felt like it had multiple personalities, the storyline didn't really make a lot of sense and as decent and varied as the sex scenes were, they were a little too much for me. I won't be reading the rest of the series, but might revisit Zoelle's works a few years from now as you can definitely see potential.

November 14, 2021I’m honestly not sure how and why I even finished this one. There was essentially no plot and all steam (not even well written steam). Outside of the steam we learned a lot about Alice in Wonderland manga, King Arthur, and a bunch of information on side characters + their relationship woes. The book also featured Alice and King Arthur role playing during steamy times that was not for me at all.

Snowbody like you is an instalove story with one bed, featuring two quirky post grads, Jude and Rigby. The meetcute Gods smile down upon these two and after meeting due to being grounded at an airport, they seize upon the opportunity to get to know each other better in appropriate romance book fashion. Charming Jude manages to score them a room at the beautiful Luxurian Suites hotel and we follow their steamy love affair from there.
The book takes place in an extensively developed storyverse set predominantly in Sunnyside. With a few side characters helping us see Jude and Rigby as fully developed people. The MCs complement each well with Jude's outgoing, friendly personality and Rigby's softer, polite side. They give each other a safe space to draw out different aspects of their personality which they've previously kept from partners. Both have strong imaginations and it's this playfulness that brings out some creative roleplay in the bedroom, making for some very steamy scenes.

The book takes place in an extensively developed storyverse set predominantly in Sunnyside. With a few side characters helping us see Jude and Rigby as fully developed people. The MCs complement each well with Jude's outgoing, friendly personality and Rigby's softer, polite side. They give each other a safe space to draw out different aspects of their personality which they've previously kept from partners. Both have strong imaginations and it's this playfulness that brings out some creative roleplay in the bedroom, making for some very steamy scenes.

This book is so sweet and so hot at the same time. Ariella took her original short story from the Winter Wonderland giveaway and turned it into a full length book. If you hadn't read the original short story, you wouldn't know where the new material starts. It's that seamless. I enjoyed finding Easter eggs from her Good Bad Idea series in this book, although it wasn't necessary to read that series to enjoy this book. I also liked the set up of side characters who will be getting their own book in the future. I hope we see more of Jude & Rigby in future books.

4 stars for the first couple of chapters. A cute meet-cute for a Hallmark romance obsessive. It's not just instalove but 'instalove you forever'. However the book doesn't pretend otherwise and makes a feature of it.
However the last few chapters are pretty much a sexfest, which feels incongruous with the first half and the premise of the story.
Too much sex for my taste but YMMV.
First read by this author. I certainly give them another try.

I didn't know instaromance was a genre until I read this (and the reviews). Not for me, obviously. More off-putting was the complete lack of conflict. They meet, they spark, they have a lot of sex. They meet friends and family, who talk about sex a lot. There is never anything to challenge them or their perfect pairing, so the book, in spite of varied sex scenes, including fantasy role-play, is ultimately boring.

These gents have one heck of an imagination and artfully play out their fantasies, revealing a great deal about themselves.
As you probably can tell, Snowbody Like You is very low angst, tooth aching sweet and scorching hot. However, there is extreme depth to Jude and Rigby, with multidimensional aspects to their psyches. Their love is instantaneous, but the true depth of it develops over time through their shared experiences. They complement each other in ways neither imagined was possible. Together they are strong, with a bright future that will weather anything, even the ribbing from their meddlesome families.
Here’s to hoping the next installment in this Suite Dreams series is just as delightful!

Not much of a story - read on KU
There really isn't much to this. The MCs meet at the beginning and end up jn a hotel room together within a few hours. It is insta everything. I had no jnterest in all the talk of Japanese Manga, and only mild interest in legends of King Arthur, which were the subjects Rigby and Jude were focusing on in their doctoral studies. They end up having role playing scenes with the latter and one from Alice in wonderland, which is a favorite of Rigby's. I can't imagine getting a doctorate in such a narrow focus. And I can't see how Rigby could possibly use his degree. One of the most useless degrees I've ever heard of.
I read her newer series about the Jason Leyland Rock band first. While it is quite similar, it was just enough different to be interesting. There was a lot of humor in that series. (4th book isn't out yet.) The humor really made it stand out. There is some of that here, but not much. This book is pretty much just erotica. While erotica is fine, this didn't make for great erotica, IMO. All of her books I've read are missing the build up of sexual tension. There is no tease to any of them, which makes the sex scenes much, much better. I don't mean to say I like slow burns, but foreplay is essential to good steamy scenes. Even if it is just words.
If this had been the first book I read by the author, I wouldn't have read more. I may read the next one because I'm curious about Rory (which is a guy but a girl's name). I like bi-awakening stories, which it is.
Another thing about all her books is all the characters seem to be psychologists, or at least one per couple. They explain why certain things turn the other one on or why they are the way they are. It's very mature and insightful, but most people don't have such a good grasp on those type things. They say things like "you're more comfortable doing blank with me because you have this aspect of your personality that makes you blank and your past relationships made you feel blank." It usually lasts two or three paragraphs and happens more than once in the book.
This is definitely an author to be enjoyed one book here and there instead of one after another. All of the books I've read are the same on a simple level. The men hook up by 15% or earlier. (Maybe barely later in one of them.) They immediately profess their love. From the first time they are together, they're promising forever. The story after that doesn't really do much to develop their relationships. It's like the books should end at the 30% mark. I'm certainly usually bored of them by that point.
This is the 2nd one I've read where one of the two dresses in drag. I'd really prefer to not see that. Somehow, I don't think these stories would be very good to gay men, and I think women want to read about two hot men getting together. One pretending to be a woman detracts from that. Just my opinion.
I also think she could stand to spend a little more money on book covers. They're all campy and seem low budget.
Her stories are well worded and the editing is good.

I got this book free with about 300 other romance books when they all participated in a deal. Let’s get right to it. This book was… interesting, but unfortunately not the you’ve piqued my interest so I must read on kind of interesting, it was a What in the actual fuck am I reading, interesting.
This was not a story. It was 95% porn, 5% story. The story goes – man meets man at airport. Men go back to hotel room. Men go back home. Men go on date. Men go back to university. Men go on date. Friend of man one has a problem with girlfriend, man one helps. Insert sex scene after every fullstop. Now, before anyone says anything I am NOT being prude, and if you think I am, then you don’t know me at all but seriously there was no conflict or climax (apart from sexual climax’s for the two characters many times), there just wasn’t really a story.
Jude, one of the main characters was very full on, it was very cringy at times. Also, if a man came to me and said the things that Jude had said within the first five minutes of meeting him (meeting his family, getting married etc) I would have ran a mile. He was just way too intense. His inner monologue also drove me insane, if you had a shot for everytime he used the term ‘meet-cute’ or ‘meet-cute gods’, you’d be passed out by chapter two.
The sex scenes were frequent and very similar, then all of a sudden they are role playing as King Arthur and Sir Lancelot and then the Cheshire Cat and Alice. It was so cringy to read and the worst part of it was that how the dialogue was written – not just for these scenes but throughout the book – it just made it even more unbelievable. The dialogue just didn’t flow at any point during the story which stopped me from being able to dive in and connect with them. Not only that, they are having sex and just chatting away about their ex partners. All they seemed to talk about was their ex partners.
I know I’ve slated this one and I’m sorry. I always try to find the good in a book but I’m struggling with this one.
