I just read Because of Stephen out of this collection
I'm on a quest, with my Mom, to read all the Grace Livingston Hill novels in the order they were published. This was the next one my list.
While still not into the my favorite novels of hers, this one does show some marked improvement. The ending was rushed and some parts were a bit shallow, but there was more substance to it then some of her earliest works.
I loved this part of the book:
“You couldn't shake my belief in Jesus any more than you could shake my in my mother or father. Because I have known them. If you told me hadn't had a mother and she was't really good and kind to me, I'd just smile and pity you because you never knew her. But I have, you know. I don't blame you, for you've never known Jesus.”
