Paramour Bay #16

Stony Blend

omplex hexes and intricate spells are boiling up trouble in the next puzzling whodunit of the Paramour Bay Mysteries by USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne...

The residents of Paramour Bay have no idea that something sinister might be lurking in the snowy shadows along the main thoroughfare of their quaint coastal town. They are all a bit curious about what could possibly be leaving odd footprints in the snow, though. It's all anyone can talk about until a spree of vandalism begins happening to the local storefronts.

Raven Marigold's familiar is the only one who believes that the town is under attack by the new upright adornment that has been strategically positioned right outside of the local bakery by none other than the baker herself. The intimidating gargoyle statue carved into granite has been set upon a matching pillar, and Leo insists that the thing actually moves. Can he finally convince Raven that he's right before those odd footprints lead right to their own front door?

You might want to bring a chisel and a hammer along if you want to follow the dark, snowy trail all the way to the end of this quirky mystery!

Stony Blend (Paramour Bay Book #16)
The Paramour Bay Series by Kennedy Layne proved to be full of fun cozy mysteries full of paranormal intrigue, and heartwarming charm. Set in the enchanting seaside town of Paramour Bay, the series follows Raven Marigold, who is a relatable and endearing character who discovers she’s a witch. From the very first book, I was drawn into a world filled with magical mishaps, quirky townsfolk, and a touch of humor that kept the tone light and engaging.
Paramour Bay came alive with its quaint shops, mysterious coves, and a community that’s as eccentric as it is lovable. Ms. Layne’s writing style is approachable and immersive, making it so easy for me to lose myself in the pages (in a great way – NOT in a ‘I have no idea of what’s going on’ way 😊). Each book introduces a new mystery, often tied to the supernatural, and the twists are clever without being overly complex - perfect for fans of cozy mysteries.
So, whether you’re a fan of paranormal tales, cozy mysteries, or simply looking for a feel-good series to curl up with, Paramour Bay is a magical escape that will leave you smiling. It’s a perfect brew of mystery, magic, and heart. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a touch of whimsy with their whodunits.
Let the Binge Begin.

I like the plots and most of the characters, but I am getting SO sick of Raven running through a series of idiotic theories. I get that Leo is supposed to be comic relief, and I can deal with that by simply not reading any text in italics (thanks for that, it makes his bizarre asides easier to skip). The plot mechanism that her grandmother's inappropriate spell that kept him around to teach her about her unknown potentials backfired and took his memory was not a bad one (although if Leo hadn't been left for her, wouldn't another familiar have shown up? No, that familiar wouldn't have know her grandmother, but at least he wouldn't have been the paranoid, substance-abusing, brain-damaged familiar Leo is.) Ted could have filled her in. Rowena could have helped. Perhaps the mental link that inflicts Leo's remarks on her brain has resulted in her losing the ability to think straight herself. I don't know. As I said, I like most of the characters who are either supportive, or good foils, But I feel a need to respect the protagonist, and i she doesn't start thinking soon, I'm going to have to stop reading what is generally a delightful series!

Gargoyle Gary is such a good character.
This cozy mystery is an interesting book.
Kennedy Layne has written another good book.
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

I really enjoyed this episode in Paramour Bay. A new character is introduced. Regina and Beetle find a home. Raven, Mr Leo, and Liam find the answers to a mystery that seems to be threatening the town.
It's all good fun: characters continue to gain detail; suspense centers around the town threat and the long range plot gets more interesting!

Fun mystery

Raven and Leo are off to solve a new mystery in the doldrums of January. Is Leo imagining that the cupcake shop's new decorative stone gargoyle can move? This was such a cute fun read that's great for a laugh in the long days of Winter.

Enjoyed

The concept of your characters in having Leo and Raven bicker over every little thing is really fun to read and it keeps the series more interesting.

Fun to read as always.

I never get tried or bored with these characters. Leo's such a nut. Well maybe an acorn. Start from book one and have a good time.

Back in Paramour Bay with the residents of this quaint, seaside town; along with the local witches, wizard, golems, werewolf, vampire, grim reaper; and of course, a witch's familiar, in the shape of a cat, Mr Leo. Mr Leo has a fantastic sense of humor and knits the stories together.

A stone statue has appeared outside the local bakery and the only person who has seen it move is Mr Leo. Bree, the bakery owner has bought it to bring some interest to her shop, but as time passes, it seems Mr Leo could be right as some strange happenings start occurring.

Liam, local sheriff and Raven's boyfriend, who knows she is a witch, has got to do something before things get blown out of proportion.

Another great story from the shores of Paramour Bay. A wonderful series, standalone stories but best read in order to preserve the characters history.

Giggle funny

Mr. Leo outdid himself in the alliteration and blueberry edible departments in this story. Very enjoyable light comedic mystery. Can’t wait to start the next book in this series.
