Ada Bell knew you'd be reading this. Okay, well, she knew someone would be. (Hi, Mom!) That's pretty much the extent of her psychic powers. A life-long mystery buff, Ada has devoured everything from Murder, She Wrote to Nancy Drew to Psych!, so she was pretty much destined to end up here. Ada loves Scooby Doo, superhero movies, STEM heroines, and cake. Mmm, cake.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was happy when I got approved for a copy of book 2 and started it as soon as I could. The Scry's The Limit follows Aly as she stumbles upon yet another murder, this time one of her professors has been killed. She's also trying to figure out who killed her brother's wife. Her academic year is starting and she is working at an antique store as well, so she has her hands full.

This was another great read. I liked following Aly as she got involved into another mystery. I thought it was interesting the murder victim was someone we met in book 1 already. I was a solid mystery. There weren't as many suspects, but it was still tough to figure out who had done it. As the story progressed Aly eliminates some suspects and had to smile at a scene later in the book with this big misunderstanding that made sense as well looking backwards. I was thinking in the right direction when it came to the murderer as far as the motive, but was surprised at the actual reveal. It was a nice twist and made sense.

Besides the mystery there are enough other things going on. I like how Aly makes some progress figuring out why her brother's wife was killed. And that twist at the end totally took me by surprise and I can't wait to see how that progresses. There is more magical/ paranormal stuff as well in this book with some new interesting tidbits. There are also some scenes around campus as she's following classes there and she meets a few new possible friends as well.

There is a hint of romance, but to be honest I rather wish it was either a bigger or less part of the book. It's a bit awkward with how Aly has this massive crush on Sam, but there aren't many scenes with them together and I don't feel there is as much to their connection than attraction. I just would like to see more of them together as it feels they feel close without spending as much time together. I just didn't really feel their connection yet.

I like the continuity this series has so far. While it can be read as standalone, I think it works better as a series. We see Aly develop and her powers. It was nice seeing a bit more about her powers in this book and I liked how important they are for solving the mystery too. And then there is her friendship with some of the town folk as well. I was pleasantly surprised to see some of the side characters that were part of the mystery in book 1 pop up again. Even the murder victim and one of the suspects made an appearance in book 1 already, I liked this.

To summarize: This was a great sequel. I like reading about Aly and how she uses her powers to solve mysteries. This mystery had some great twists and turns and even with not as many suspects I wasn't quite sure who had done it. I was thinking in the right direction motive wise, but was still surprised by the reveal. Besides the main mystery Aly is also trying to figure out who killed her sister-in-law, it was great to see her make some progress with that. Besides that there is plenty of other things going on like her academic year starting and her work at Olive's shop. I liked seeing Aly spend time with the side characters, some recurring ones and other new. I like the sense of continuity this series has so far. This was a great read and I am really looking forward to the next book!

Another 4 stars for the second book in this fun series. This book picked up where the last one ended. Yes, the main character is young and many times immature, but I really like her. Even though, in my opinion, the murderer had a ridiculous reason for killing, I still really enjoyed this book.

Cliffhanger!

The first book in the series was one of those free Kindle books so of course I was hooked after reading and had to have this one too. This one was just as good and of course there is a big surprise at the end so I now need the 3rd book! I love that the main character Aly is exploring and getting familiar with her newly discovered powers. As you would expect, readers also get more familiar with other characters and I am especially glad to see Rusty back as well as Olive. The story is good and I enjoy the writer's style. There are endless possibilities for this series and I am looking forward to each and every one of them.

Aly Reynolds has once again found herself caught up in another murder mystery. While on a walk, she happens upon a body buried in a shallow grave. When she gets a vision from a button near the body, she realizes she knows the victim. Determined to find the person responsible for the death of her favorite professor, Aly works on enhancing her psychic skills. Will she be able to control her abilities and find the answers she seeks?

Be enchanted as the small town of Shady Grove comes to life in Ada Bell’s The Scry’s the Limit. As with many murder mysteries, figuring out “who done it” is part of the enjoyment and Ada does not disappoint in this category. Constantly throwing one curve ball after the other readers are continually surprised. Mix in a combination of paranormal psychic abilities with a touch of romance and this story is difficult to put down.

Plus, add in an absence of profanity, sexual content, nor spelling and grammatical errors, and Ada excels in exhibiting her proficiency as a writer. Therefore, as deserved, a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars is easily awarded.

Given murder is at the forefront, please take caution if any of the following actions may cause you distress: house fire, racism, addiction, involuntary rehabilitation, homicide, murder, betrayal, deceit, and gun violence.

The second book of the Shady Grove Psychic Mystery Series, The Scry’s the Limit is an engaging mystery with a hint of fantasy and a twist of fun.

Thank you to #TheScrysTheLimit, #ShadyGrovePsychicMysterySeries, #AdaBell, and #EmpressBooks for the opportunity to read this book and give my honest review.

Alt is trying to get a vision to see who killed her sister in law Katrina but she just can't find anything to give her a vision until Mary katrina's sister calls her to meet up at her house and she gives her a rocking horse for her nephew Kyle. Aly tries to get a vision off the horse but even though its supposedly a family heirloom she cannot see any family members riding the horse so she takes it to her boss Olive and as Olive is trying to get a vision she gets zapped and when she wakes up she doesnt have her powers but they do eventually come back when Alt gets the button back that she found near her dead professors body and Olive tells her who the killer was but she was wrong and so was Alt until she looks into the mirror at Zack's house. Just when Alt thinks she has found katrina's sister Mary the lady in the rehab center asks her for help because she is not Mary.

A fascinating, psychic mystery. Aly's ready for classes to start at Maloney College. She's excited to learn from Professor Zimm. Unfortunately, she found the professor's body on a walk in the nature preserve with her brother Kevin and his son. Life in Shady Grove is much more dangerous since Aly gained her powers.

Tiff's introduction was excruciating. Made me hope she was the victim. Not such luck. Just a mean girl to add unnecessary drama to the story. A mean girl as an entitled, junior, science student in college? Really?

The emotions in this title are much higher. The situations became more awkward than in the series opener. It also contains a small bit of gore. Otherwise, this is an entertaining title with a small peek into Kevin's wife's death.

Action-packed. Entertaining. Haunting. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

Aly’s efforts to find something belonging to her murdered sister in law lead to some strange happenings. Is her sister in law’s family trying to reconnect or is more in play?

It looks like some sort of gifts or powers run on both sides of the family for nephew Kyle .

Attempts by Olive to help Aly quickly become quite dangerous - for Olive as well. Surprises appear to be in store with her don Sam

A sudden death at the college Aly attends connects her with several crazy characters who might be different kinds of odd and fun, or maybe just plain lethal

Much ado and lots of mayhem- some fun, some lethal.

Loved it, a super story the second in this series but works as a standalone, Aly can see the history of an object by touching it, comes in handy when you find the body of your teacher buried in the woods. An entertaining mystery with a fun lead character how recites the periodic table when nervous. Also has a interesting secondary storyline about her sister-in-law';s murder which I assume as it is not resolved will continue throughout the series. Highly recommended paranormal cozy mystery.

After listening to "Mystic Pieces", I just had to continue with this series. I love the narrator so much, her voice is prefect for listening to and the way she voices each character differently is amazing. Ada Bell makes each character so likeable and has the story flowing so smoothly. I am a bit of a chemistry geek so I love how Ali and her brother got their names, I also love how Ali calms her nerves by reciting the periodic table. After the ending on this one, I can't wait to read it listen to the third book.

Loving this series! Again, it is a break from my more intense, historical fiction books. But sometimes, we just need a fun, light, read and this suited the bill perfectly! Aly just discovered that she has psychic powers and needs to learn how to use them. Thankfully, she has support from her boss, her best friend and now some new friends come into play to help solve the murder of Aly's professor. I hope that Chirpbooks gets book 4-6 soon as I know it won't take me long to get through book 3.

I’m enjoying this series! Ada Bell has created a great cast of characters living in a charming small town. This time Aly tries to use her newfound powers to find her professors killer. I listened to the audiobook version. The narration was easy to listen to. I enjoyed this audiobook and am looking forward to the next in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.

Aly is accepting her psychic gifts, can she solve her sister laws death? She has a crush on Olive's son. Aly is wanting to help her brother solve the mystery of her death, but he doesn't want to face it and wants Aly to stay out it. But Aly learn that her professor is found dead. Too many suspects to count so her job is going to be difficult. So, Aly is running out of time to find the killer, before they find her.
I am glad to find this author and her great writing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's true you need an open mind about psychic phenomenon, and that applies to this story. The main characters are believable, fun, interesting, and become endearing quickly for the reader. The plot is easily followed and the story is a good one. I can easily recommend this book to anyone who enjoys stories about psychics.

These books are just addictive ... and such an easy read! But the whodunit part is very complex ... keeping me guessing with the plot twists and reasonings. I love books with a little paranormal powers interwoven into the story, and Ms. Bell keeps introducing the "just right" amount with every tale.

Dnf. I know me MC is supposed to be a snooper and get in the way while trying to solve the mystery on their own in a cozy. However, I draw the line when the main character attempts to steal a piece of evidence from a crime scene for their own purpose of trying to solve a crime. I noped right out of the series.

Interesting and fun

This book was an interesting story with fun, likable characters. It wasn't crazy wild paranormal activity, but still entertaining. There was a murder to be solved and other things going on. It does end on a cliffhanger. I am excited to see what happens next.

I got sucked in and now I want to know what mystery Aly will solve next. The fact that she scryed and saw how her sister in law died. Then solved the mystery of who killed her professor through a mirror shows her learning to use her powers better.

I enjoyed this book also. The news about Kyle was interesting. The only downfall about the book is that you have to keep reading to see who killed Katrina. It seems as though a lot of people know Aly's secret. It was never said what happened to Olive either.

Hooked!

I’m hooked on this series! The mysteries are so good and aren’t easy to figure out, so it makes it fun to try to work through the clues. With the ending of this book, I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next one! I hope it picks up where it left off!

Second in this series of audiobooks and it’s just not for me. Characters feel undeveloped and behaviors skew young (maybe the style of narration?). Plottoo predictable and similar to the first in series.
