There is never a good time for a witch to lose her powers.
But to lose your magic just when you and your friends need it to survive might be the worst timing of all.
But even in her despair, Torie Bliss has noticed some strange goings-on in Singing Falls. The supernatural community seems to be at war with itself, and the human inhabitants of the community are not exactly acting like normal humans. Without her powers Torie is at a loss as to how she can help them. But there is one person who may be able to help her. The estranged sister of her best friend who may be running from demons of her own.
Throw in a powerful Hunter who has made her way to Singing Falls intending to collect the bounty placed on two werewolves that have taken up residency; and Torie and her friends have more trouble on their hands than they can deal with.
Torie Bliss sacrificed her powers to save an innocent, but now, who will save her? She’s about to show them all that even without her powers, she is still a Hex Witch to be reckoned with.
I just caught a major inconsistency in this book and it's the kind that makes me frustrated that authors like this one, who are clearly skilled but with all due respect are not necessarily as adept at consistency and detail as other authors, find their way to publication so easily while others flail about with skill that may never hear as a result of circumstances. sigh.
So there is possibly a medium spoiler ahead, though I promise it's not much of one. This book features a specific werewolf who is being hunted by a class of maybe supernatural creature called, are you ready, hunter. Well early in the book, the hunter gets into a tangle with 2 werewolves at a local bar. Almost immediately after the tangle, the Main character and her werewolf boy friend have a conversation that includes the second werewolf where both the werewolves indicate that they have personally taken down several hunters in their past and that it wasn't a big deal.
Flash forward to the last third of the book when the hunter shows up at the main character's house and nearly kills the werewolf and a few other characters beside. After this tangle, and the hunter has left, the main character's werewolf boyfriend tells the group that he has only ever heard of hunters like they are some kind of secret, supernatural boogie Man in werewolf mythology. So which is it?
Having written several novels myself, I know that it can be really hard to keep tiny details like that in your head and it's for that very reason that it is critically important we have a good editor who makes notations of details so that, say, a main character's eyes doesn't change from green to hazel over the course of a 100 pages or so that a major plot point like a pair of werewolves having historically taken down a bunch of hunters suddenly becomes a werewolf encountering a hunter as though it's some mystical being he didn't think existed.
I really enjoyed these books as a kind of summer beach read, and I would also just offer my services as an editor to help catch your details like this. Feel free to private message me for details.

Lots of violence in this one, wasn't prepared for that! Of course, when you have a paranormal shifter clash that's orchestrated by one vindictive hunter, it was bound to be bloody. While Torie is grappling with her recent loss of magic, Jasmine calls her long-lost sister in for some magical witch healing. Little does she know that her sister is harboring a secret of her own that's tied to the mayhem going on in Singing Falls. We get some funky paranormals, including an incubus, a golum, and wild magic, and by the end of it all, Torie might just risk it all to save the ones she loves again...will that bring her magic back? Anything is possible in this little magical world. This one doesn't end on a cliffhanger, like the other two.
Favorite Line ~ "Aren't' we just a bunch? ...A witch with no powers, a wolf that's susceptible to a hunter's control, and a woman with a superstrong homicidal daughter that she gave up at birth."

Even though it was a good story I just couldn't enjoy it. For one thing I got fed up with the hunter pretty quickly. Then there was all that anger, revenge, vengeance stuff which totally soured the mood. Plus way too much "explaining" of things, mostly certain lore, etc. Also, Torie seemed somewhat brainless and I don't know dull, maybe? for about 98% of the book, only for her to get to save the day yet again at the very last second. Sorry, simply didn't convince me and I don't really buy her age/experience either, most of the time she seems more like an angsty, self-doubting, tiny-bit naive teenager.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box. (Audible Membership)
It's difficult to envision a life without magic, even though Torie had had her powers for a couple of months. Her woes over the lose of her abilities is soon outweighed by the problems occurring with shifters, turning on each other, without warning. The friends have their love foe each other threatened in this tale, but you should be pleased with the ending.
The gang is back trying to help Torie get her magic back! MJ Caan writes in a way that pulls you into the story! I couldn't put it down I had to keep reading until the end! I love the paranormal women's fiction stories because they have women over 40 years old who kick butt! Highly recommend this series if you like witches and shifters
Loved the ups and downs of this book. It was full of so many emotions. My heart broke for Torie, but the love of friends healed all. I'm happy that she regained her hex and it was because of her selflessness they returned. A great lesson for all.
It was lacking. Things felt rushed and the ending was unsatisfying for so many reasons.

Opal was disappointing in her character structure and rational for revenge. The hunter was better but the aspects of the background to reaching Singing Falls was weak.
This Paranormal Women’s Fiction novel is the best. Oh my gosh, so many surprises, action, and fabulous friendships. A book very well worth reading, for sure!
This was a great story. The twists were a little shocking to me. Sad, really, is a better word. But true friends are there for Torie and for Jasmin, and all their close friends.
Unfortunately crossed line between awesome creativity and silliness. Fun characters. The twist upon twist thing went too far this time. Do not assume your readers watch popular TV. Maybe those references for which I have no context made all the difference.
Reclaiming your magic is minor to knowing that sometimes friends are your real family. The saying is true, family isn't always blood and the ladies are definitely better for it. An interesting Singing Falls adventure!
There were so many incredible things that happened in this book and the ending...I did not see that coming at all! I could not put this book down. I loved it!
These books just keep getting better. There is always a surprise you don't see coming at all. The main characters are just wonderful and makes you hope/wish you had friends like that.
I've enjoyed this series. I like supernatural books for some reason.... The characters are good, have some depth to them. It's a good story that keeps me guessing and engaged.
This series is filled to the rim with witches, ghosts, shift shapers, werewolves and more. Lots of fights, mystery, true friendships snd crazy endings!
I would recommend this book to anyone looking to add some supernatural fun to their library. Cute book. Going to read the next in the series now! Happy reading!
This story had lots of curves and hidden surprises. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed Torie’s quest to try to get her magic back.
This was a rush. Lots happen and lots was said about jasmin’s pass.. interesting story fast paced and u want to get to the end but not cause then it’s over lol
