This series took me forever to finish but for the life of me I can't stop a book once I start... That does not mean this book is bad by any means - but was it a good book? Yes. Great? No.
The plot was original and different. The time difference between the two main characters was very insightful. The book really didn't grasp my attention until the very end of book 3 and at that point I think I just wanted to find out what happened. I will say it is a HEA and I was pleased even though it took forever and a year to get there.

This book did feel like it had abrupt changes made to the plot. Some parts just didn't flow or make sense at times but I suppose that is the point of plot twists. The character development is good, the world building was great (maybe a little too large?), there is some minor romance (of all kinds) for both main characters and a few others.

I recommend this series IF your TBR pile is low or if you're looking for something different with magical humans and angels. There is a fresh outlook on both.

I primi 2 libri mi erano piaciuti, infatti avevo dato 4 stelle ciascuno.

Really enjoyed this. My favourite character was Rielle, I loved her as she wasn’t your typical main character as much like real life she was neither good or bad. I wasn’t so keen on Eliana at first but as her story developed I grew to like her, I didn’t like who she was when the book first started. Really good read I would really recommend this.

Good series

The story is great, told from multiple perspectives. There are moments when you are just ready to find out what happens, but over all the flow is nice. Good for readers of most ages, nothing explicit. A fantasy, a love story, good story arc for several characters

This was not my usual type of book. The jumping from here to there took me a bit to get used to. The wrap up of Kingsbane was a blessing with the answers to so much in the previous.

What the hell.

Why does this series have five star reviews? It reads worse than some of my students class work.

What.

Just what.

I didn't actually finish the trilogy, but I'm counting this as two books towards my goal because I got 2/3 of the way through it before deciding it was too bad to finish.

good story, well written.

A complex story with lots of interesting twists and turns. Fantasy with an element of time travel and the unexpected consequences of that.

There are two women, living centuries apart but connected in some way. One of them has the power to save the world and the other has the power to destroy it. This book is filled with unique magic, beautiful world building, angels, mystical creatures, action, romance, and the MOST HEART BREAKING BETRAYALS. The Empirium Trilogy takes you up and down through so many twists and turns. You get your hopes up and feel so happy just to have your heart broken again. And rinse & repeat.

The characters are incredibly imperfect and many of them are morally gray. The MCs, Rielle and Eliana are flawed, capable, strong women. The main villain is a true, down to the core, bad guy who you love to hate. All of the side characters are wonderful and endearing (and honestly I love them the most).

Book 1 is a lot of world building and introducing the characters/ magic but if you can push through that, you won’t regret it. The storylines do flip back and forth between POVs and past & present. I didn’t have any trouble following along but things start making sense about halfway through the first book.

I struggled reading this trilogy. The worldbuilding and the rules surrounding the magic were cool, but I could not connect with any of the characters. I hoped that Legrand would lean into her villains more than she did and in general the characters were not engaging.
