“Calling All Egyptian History Lovers”
I fell in love with Egyptian history in the 6th grade right after I fell in love with mysteries. So, imagine the literary fun when you read a book that combines them both. “Mystery at the Museum” is the latest installment in the Firefly Junction Cozy Mystery series and London Lovett provides a story chocked full of action, intrigue and mischievousness.
Sunni has been given a newspaper assignment to cover the unveiling of an Ancient artifact on loan from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. While attending the event it is discovered that the artifact has been replaced with a fake and one of the plot employees has been murdered. Leave it to Sunni to find herself on the other end of breaking news and a dead body.
To make matters worse, Dave, Sunni’s colleague and boyfriend of one of her sisters witnessed some of the strange shenanigans of Edward, the ghost who lives at the Inn she is restoring. Now he is on a mission to write a front page article about ghosts at her Inn before she even opens the doors. My, my, my!
You can’t help but have fun when reading about a bunch of cleverly crafted characters including a cranky and temperamental ghost. My only complaint is that I wanted a little more time with Sunni and her boyfriend, Jackson. There’s a lot of action, suspects and good old fashioned juicy gossip in this little gem and of course Egyptian history and a mystery to solve.
