comprehensive, with exercises, information and compassion. From a CBT approach (which is very effective for ED), the book takes a teaching approach at times - I would've liked more questions; however this could be an excellent go-to time and again as recovery goes at its own pace. The only drawback was the chapter on religion and ED, not objective, facutally informed at all! I was so disappointed; the authors obviously had their own agenda in writing that chapter (eg. they overgeneralized both the Catholic church (saying all symbols of Mary show her as hiding her size ?!?, and that Christianity favors fasting, unhealthy practice. No other mention of any of hte potential damage, or healing, that can come from religious/spiritual consideriations.
Overall, though, many helpful things, especially all in one book. A practicioner would find a variety of interventions and adapation ideas to help a client struggling with ED. I would also recommend the findingbalance website, too, for video and support info.
