USA Today Bestselling Author Bethany Lopez brings you her break-out series about getting a second chance at love later in life. Follow Whitney, Summer, Margo, Charlotte, and Andi as they experience the good, bad, and ugly of dating again in their thirties and forties. Join them in The Jilted Wives Club.

When men let you down, nothing’s better than a bourbon straight up.

Margo has no time for games. A workaholic businesswoman in a male-dominated industry can’t afford any. After a failed attempt at marriage, she’s chosen to keep her affairs with men casual… with no strings and no expectations.

Aiden has no time for complications. Working two jobs, co-parenting an active little boy, and helping out on his family’s farm hasn’t left him much time for relationships. And with one divorce under his belt, he has little desire to try again.

Margo will never be a Work Wife again, but there’s something about Aiden that makes her want to let down some walls and see what happens.

Can Margo and Aiden find room in their lives for each other, or will Margo be left with nothing but a bourbon straight up?

Loved this!!

After reading books 1 and 2, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Margo’s story. I knew she was one tough cookie. And I knew she was going to be no-nonsense, strong, and confident.

Work Wife was another great story in this series. So real, with so many emotions, I wanted to devour this in one sitting.

Morgan is a tell-it-like-it-is kinda gal. She has no patience for beating around the bush. She has no time for things (or people) to get in her way. She’s got money, a great job, confidence, and all the friends she needs. Even though it seems she has a hard outer shell, she’s got a big, gooey soft spot for those she loves.

Aiden, the sexy AF, hardworking, heart-of-gold, manly man, was smitten with Margo the instant they met. Attracted to her forwardness? Definitely. A little scared? Perhaps. But he was also intrigued and quite a bit turned on.

Watching these two together, get to to know each other, flirt, and joke around was cute and fun. To see them deal with serious, real life situations was heartwarming and emotional.

And seeing tough-girl Margo get all soft and mushy (but not too mushy…) for her sexy hunk was endearing and made me love her that much more.

They’re both hard workers, they’re loyal, and they love hard, but they want different things out of life. Right?

I absolutely love how this author makes her stories and characters feel so real and relatable. I look forward to her books being that way and she never disappoints.

If you’ve read the other books in The Jilted Wives Club series, you’ll definitely want to read this one. If you haven’t, no problem! This can be read by itself, but you’ll probably want to read the others after finishing this one. ;)

Love this series, love this group of women, and love their stories!

It was funny how Aiden and Margo met. When I first saw who they each were, I didn’t know how they would ever make a go of it. But you know the old saying, sometimes opposites attract! Margo had two different sides to her. One side was her business side where she could be brutal. The other was her personal side where she had been cheated on, but was a loving, caring woman who had some wonderful friends. I enjoyed watching the two get to know each other better. I loved Aiden’s mother and sister. Aiden’s boy was such a smart, sweet boy that was so polite. I enjoyed the book and encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Work Wife, a fun read filled with witty banter, emotional moments, and chemistry that will have you swooning *sigh*

Two characters with "baggage" of different kinds, from different walks in life, come together to create one sweet, romantic read. It doesn't hurt that he is a single dad (check one fave trope) AND a firefighter (another fave trope).

I promise you will not regret one-clicking this HEA story.

Work Wife by Bethany Lopez is a good book about a woman in her prime and a single father. The story was intriguing and good. I liked the interactions between Margo and Aiden and the push and pull between them. While the story is well-written with a great premise, there were a few passages that felt like they dragged a bit and were distracting. It's still a great story and you should check it out for yourself. 3.5 stars.

Work Wife by B. Lopez is a stand-alone and book three in the Jilted Wives Club. Every book can be read as stand-alone, for best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are Starter Wife and Trophy Wife.
Whitney, Summer, Charlotte and Margo are members of a very special club. Suddenly single again, all of them had to start over. And while Whitney and Summer found their heas, Margo stays away from relationships. He career is her life and there's just no time for a man in her life.
Aiden is a divorced single dad. He works two jobs, is in general an outdoorsy type and good guy. He's helping at the family farm and he has his hands full, his time is limited.
Margo and Aiden seem not able to stay away from each other - karma has a way to smile at them.
But what they soon'll learn is, love is never easy, especially when they're so different from each other.
WW is a heartwarming, touching, highly entertaining story. Unputdownable, a read in one sitting cover to cover read, that gave me allll the feels. A beautiful second chances at love story, highly anticipated and very appreciated by moi.

I love this series! This book didn't disappoint at all! 5 jilted wives stars for this one!
Here we have Margo, she's filling in for her friend at a speed dating event, though she's not looking for Mr Forever, she went that route and won't go there again! When Aiden sits in front of her, she's immediately taken with him, there's just something about him. But he's looking for forever at some point, but now he can't get her off his mind. He's a single dad so it's more than just his heart on the line.
This story will make you swoon, while also laughing out loud with Aiden's families interference! Grab this one asap!

Wasn't sure

I'm glad I didn't pass this one up. Margo isn't my favorite character; however, this was excellent. Learning more about Margo made me like her more and loved the deeper connection she had with the other ladies. And is it just me or can we guess what is going to happen with Andi?

Work Wife is a promising book. Bethany did an amazing job with Margo and Aiden's story. Their story is flawless and we get to see the Jilted Wives as well. Seriously, Work Wife is my new favorite in this series. I can't wait to read Charlotte's story.

Really Enjoyed

Aidan and Margo's story is delightfully sweet. I really enjoyed how Margo never had to change her strong personality to fit into Aidan's life, while also getting to see her softer side.

Plus hot firefighter, so what's not to love.

Margo Farris is a strong, independent, no-nonsense workaholic and, after her marriage failed, she’s happy to stay away from relationships which means that while her friends are finding their Mister Rights, she’s constantly looking for Mister Right Now.
Aiden Addison is a divorced father of a 10 year-old boy working two jobs and he’s not looking to have a relationship, but when he meets Margo, he’ll definitely want to get to know her better.
This story is, IMO, the best of the series thus far and I’d have totally loved it if the author hadn’t decided to include a chapter from the second book almost verbatim and it was so early on that really put down the rest of the book for me. Other than that, I really liked Aiden and Margo’s chemistry and the evolution of their match. There’s nothing better than to see the skeptical character fall on their face and find love in the most unexpected place and under the most outrageous circumstances.

I really enjoy this series and love the comradery of the Jilted Wives club. I’ve been excited for Margo’s book and the author did not disappoint! I love how Margo and Aiden were two people not really looking for love, but found that instant connection at first sight. I knew Margo’s hard shell and no-nonsense, no-strings attached dating history would be a difficult one to crack, but Aiden was the perfect match in this sweet, second chance romance, in all ways good and what Margo needed in her life. It was fun to see Margo thrust into situations she normally avoided and see her soft side come out. This book does contain spoilers if you haven’t read Summer’s book (book 2), as the storylines coincide with one another. Besides the romance in this series, I adore the sisterhood that the female characters have with all the love and support they give each other as they venture back into the dating scene and new relationships.

Listened on audio: A new-to-me narrator, Brytanie Talty brought this light-hearted romance to life, conveying a lot of emotions. Although it felt a little rushed at times, her variety of distinct character voices made it easy to follow and a pleasurable listening experience.

Work Wife
The Jilted Wives Club, Book 3
By: Bethany Lopez
Narrated by: Brytanie Talty

What a fun listen! We are getting Margo, the third of the Jilted Wives Club to find her man. But she never thought
it would happen again. Her first marriage was not a happy one, and she had no desire to settle down. Her career was where it was at. When she was asked to attend a speed dating session in place of her friend, she thought I could be fun. When Aiden came up, she saw a chance to have some fun. Aiden has no intention of getting involved again. A single dad, he has enough on his plate. But Margo is changing all that. But will they find a happy medium and take the chance? Fun! Fun! Fun! This as a quick listen, with attitude, family and all-around good times. I love the way Bethany Lopez writes, engaging all the family, friends and melting of hearts. It is a funny, and heartwarming. This series is a winner!

Narrated by Brytanie Talty, I was introduced to a new narrator. She is good at her voices, giving each their own and making it easy to distinguish. Her pacing made it easy to follow and she made it an enjoyable listen.

***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****

Bethany Lopez does not disappoint with her latest Jilted Wives Club story, Work Wife. Margo is a beast, she’s all about the business and making something out of herself in a male dominated industry. After a failed marriage, she’s only interested in having a good time. Aiden isn’t interested in intricacies. He’s a single dad working two jobs and is just too busy for complications that a woman can cause. However, fate keeps pushing them together and soon enough they can’t keep their hands off each other.

This was a super sweet story about two people not looking for love and finding it when they least expected it. Totally a quick story that gives us some sneak peeks into the previous characters lives. The narration by Brytanie Talty was good! Talty is a new narrator to me. I thought she did a good job. I would listen to her again.

Work Wife by Bethany Lopez is a perfect late summer at the beach read. It's fun, flirty, sweet, romantic.

The title Work Wife is a misnomer. Margo is definitely not a work wife! She's fun, sexy, loved by her friends, but not a work wife! That's a good thing, too.

Margo does Summer a favor by taking Summer's place at a speed dating night where she meets Aiden. Aiden is a well rounded, hot hunk of a firefighter & he definitely interests Margo. They meet up at the end of the speed dating night and they close out that with Margo mouthing the words "Call me" after she slips her business card in his pocket.

Work Wife is well-written, with all the main characters nicely rounded out. (The only exception being Carson, but he's not a main character.)

I was drawn to this book strictly by the title. I'm thrilled to find I was very happy with this story.

"Work Wife" (The Jilted Wives Club #3) by Bethany Lopez is a compelling read that delves into the life of Margo, a determined businesswoman navigating a male-dominated industry. Her past marital woes have left her with a no-nonsense approach to relationships. Aiden, equally consumed by his responsibilities, juggles two jobs, co-parenting his young son, and assisting with his family's farm. With a mutual disinterest in revisiting the bonds of matrimony after previous disappointments, their story unfolds. Bethany Lopez masterfully captures the essence of modern relationships, making Margo and Aiden's journey a must-read. Their narrative is a testament to resilience and the complexities of love in today's world. Eagerly anticipating more works from Lopez, her storytelling is a true delight.

Margo and Aiden couldn't be more opposites if they tried. She's all business with no desire for entanglements past a one night stand and he's all about family and commitments. They meet at a social partnering event that Margo attends in place of one of her friends who has married since she signed up for the meet-n-greet.
Their relationship gets to build because or in spite of circumstances beyond their control.
Aiden is a great person, would make a wonderful mate, but it takes time for Margo to realize that she wants more than one night with him, time to decide if she wants to be part of a family.
Four stars because of editing issues.

Margo's failed excuse for a marriage has left her dubious. Although Aiden's marriage ended amicably, he has no time or interest in pursuing another commitment. When they meet by sheer coincidence, the attraction is immediate, but the timing is off.

This Romantic Comedy is exquisite. The main characters are delightful. The fact that things rarely go their way makes the growing magnetism more appealing. The bumps along the road add charisma to the story rather than detractions. Ultimately, the story comes to a rousing conclusion.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Steamy. Tragic. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

Work Wife (The Jilted Wives Club #3) was a great read by Bethany Lopez. Margo doesn’t have time for games, she’s a businesswoman in a male dominated industry. Her failed attempt at marriage, left her with no strings and no expectations with men. Aiden doesn’t have any time for complications. He is working two jobs, co parents a little boy, and helps on his family’s farm. He doesn’t want to try marriage again after being divorced once. I enjoyed reading Margo and Aiden’s story and can’t wait to read more by the author.

Margo finds her forever

Through the first two books, Margo always intrigued me. A successful, strong business woman deserves a partner too! Only, it's hard to find a guy willing to see past the walls around your heart.

I appreciated that Aiden was both everything she needs, and nothing she thought would ever be fitting into her life!

The JWC continues to grow and change, and that is one of my favorite things about this series.

Read this one in the correct order for the best experience. I can’t wait to read more... :)

Delightful!

What a delightful, delicious read from a very talented author. I love the premise of a Jilted Wives Club and became like a best friend to the members. I also loved the other support community of firefighters who work tirelessly together and still have enough energy to devote time to one another personally. Then there are the main characters of Aiden and Margo, from disparate backgrounds, who meet under unusual circumstances and after hesitating become lovers. Ahh, bliss!

A speed date turning into a happy ending, closed door romance

Margo and Aiden meet the night she attends a speed dating event for her friend. Margo is a divorcee, corporate girl thru and thru, while Aiden is a divorced, blue collar, firefighter and all around family man.

On paper, they are total opposites, but they have good chemistry and easy banter which eventually leads to a happy ending. Loved the couple, and the easy flow of the storyline. The sub characters are great and only add to the storyline.

This was my first book from this series and I really loved it. It was touching and very sweet but not overly unreal, the characters were not too extreme - no crazy ex's or parents or characters who are so insecure they hurt each other run away etc, so I felt it was more relatable. Sometimes you just need an easy read that has great camaraderie where everyone uplifts each other. I can't wait to read the other books in the series.

it was ok

The title had nothing to do with the book. There was one sentence that referenced it but it was in a minor part that didn’t have much to do with the whole plot.
It was a nice, cute romance, but I kept waiting for something to happen. I think the things that were supposed to be the twists and the climax fell flat. Overall it was ok, but I won’t read any of the other books in this series.
