This is book 2 of a duet, and frankly, it should be a trilogy. There are major plotlines left unresolved. I'm not talking about minor little things that can be ignored. I'm talking about what is essentially the basis of the story. At the end of book 2, I thought surely it would list book 3 as coming soon. But no. The series is listed as complete.
It feels as though the author just got bored with the series and stopped writing it. Which doesn't make sense to me, because both books are really good. The writing is enticing, it catches your interest. But to end the series in the middle is disappointing at best. Reading these books, I felt like I had found a new author to read, but given her treatment of this series, I will not be reading any further books. I don't enjoy being left hanging. I also do not recommend this duet. It will only serve to frustrate you and frankly is not worth it.

This book picks up a little bit after the first one left off. The suspense plotline continues onward, and there’s a lot more spice between Quinn and our favourite bear shifter and vampire. There are quite a few incredibly sweet parts. I love how grumpy Griffin is, and how sweet and charming Evan is, and they perfectly balance each other for Quinn.
Apparently, this is the last book in the series, and it does feel like there’s a lot more story to be told. For example, I would have liked to have seen the repercussions of her relationship with her family, who hate supernaturals. I really, really, really hope that Albany Walker considers writing another instalment in this series!

I was warned. The ending is not satisfying.

I probably should have DNF'd. I wanted to understand the villains... but we hear "we caught the villains and they'll probably cause more issues later... but we're happy and in love... the end".

Uh. Okay?

Okay, so I'm torn. I feel like there are a lot of questions that will forever be unanswered because I know this is the last book... which makes me sad... but I'm also kinda upset that the book seemed to end on a whim.

Truly, it's because I love Albany's books, she is a one-click author for me and I wanted five or more books out of this series. Both Griffin and Evan are such complex characters, their histories are layered and strewn with things that could come back to bite them in the ass, and Quinn is a little fiery nova that comes blazing into their lives wanting to touch every facet of them. I loved the three of them together and am kinda miserable that it's over before I really feel like it began.

Like...
What happened with Eva?
How connected are her parents with HERO and were they part of the mole ploy?
What happened with Evan's family and are they just cool with him existing even though he's more dominant than all of them?
Are there other moles found at other places like Havenfall?

I loved the story and I love Albany's writing, which is why I shall always want more. I will still recommend this to rh/menage readers.🖤

I’m kinda bummed by the end of this as I really expected more. The end not only comes out of nowhere but also mildly feels like a HFN. The series didn’t contain a lot of drama or even danger. The overall threat wasn’t overwhelming and uncovering of the truth came far too easy. Yet still I didn’t think everything felt completed, for instance with one of Evan’s female guards Letty. Feels like the series could have been more exciting but instead did the bare minimum. The guys were cute but Griffin really needs to learn to watch what he says and how he says it.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this book, I'm just not entirely sure after reading this where we go from here. I wouldn't say this book was a filler, but it did feel a bit random from the first book. Everything in the first book seemed so ironed out, this second book we had to look closer at the first books conclusions because we didn't actually have the facts we thought we did!? The drug issue felt a tad bit to odd for some reason, and the bad guys are wrapped up quickly without much drama, or fight. The only real conflict is Quinn and her men trying to understand each other after they all become mates. The ending just kinda leaves the book pretty wrapped up from the things that took place here, but you don't get the picture if this will continue on? It just kinda ends. Of course the book could definitely go on, but in the same sense this could be it? I'm hoping that it does because I really love these characters and I would like to really get to the bottom of somethings.

So good!

One thing I can definitely say about Albany is that I love the way she writes her characters. I think this book is her best yet when it comes to relatable/believable characters and their development. Watching Quinn, Griffin, and Evan struggle, grow, and learn to work with and understand each other was really amazing. It felt natural and organic and REAL which I loved. Yes, the relationship is new, but just because they decide to be together doesn't mean that its smooth sailing, and I really appreciated the bumps along the way!

I never saw the "bad guy" coming, I truly thought I had it locked down in book one but whew boy was I wrong! I love when an author can throw me a curve ball, and she definitely did. All in all, I loved this series, and I'm definitely sad to see it end!

Huge Fan of Book 1

I really like this story. I hope this isn’t the ending the author had in mind for the series as Book 2 felt unfinished. The plot line seemed to be progressing along with the relationship of the 3 main characters then....”the end,” with no book 3 announcement. It left a bit of an unfinished feeling. I completely understand if the author had time constraints and plans to add a 3rd installment, which could cause my review to change, but as it stands, I think the “final” conversation between our FMC and her fellows is currently a very awkward ending to what began as an exciting storyline.

I am a bit disappointed and hate that I could only give a 3 star rating. I did enjoy the books and the characters were fantastic but in this second book they were just running around chasing Q and A's. There was no excitement, anticipation, or drama. Then with the conclusion the issue was only half settled and there was no epilogue to say different or tell about the future. This being the end it definitely needed more. Also Quinn didn't come off as a main character to me. Besides the explicit scenes that were boring and unemotional the book seemed to be about everyone else.

I read this as Ann ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Albany has done it again. Captivated me from her first letter to her last. This book like me up from when’re book one ended.

I love how independent and strong willed Quinn is and although she is still learning she takes everything in her stride.

Evan and Griffin are the best, they strong and sensitive guys I’ve ever met. Their need to protect Quinn and ignorance on the supernatural she is surrounded by is humbling and annoying. They realise at times that they make mistakes and correct them.

I love the character growth they go through and helping each other out.

Quinn is having more issues than she thought she was at being accepted as a human and Havenfall. Is it just the supernaturals that have something to gain by frightening her or is there something more bigger at play.

What a wonderful final book.

Pick up book 2 of this series today and find out. 5⭐️ recommended read.

This is how you should NOT end a series

Let me start with the good: I love the narrators and the way they recorded this story. The male did all the male voices and the female did the woman. There were no switch overs when the POV changed. They just did their voices based on who was talking or thinking. Loved this! I hope more authors go this route instead having the POV determine who is narrating everyone's voice.

I know you're seeing all the 5-star reviews and preparing yourself to be amazed. Well I really hope that you get the version of this book that those reviewers got. I obviously got the unfinished version because I got NO ending... the story just stopped 🚗🛑✋.  WTH? I figured maybe it was a bad attempt at a cliffhanger but then I find out that this is the last book 🤦🏽‍♀️ Did the author die? Go to jail? Lose her mind? Or was her publisher irritating her and she just said, "Here! Just take it now!" 🤣 If none of those things are true then she just forgot to actually finish the story.

After covering that debacle it seems moot to say the story was lacking some urgency and consistency. The story is interrupted by some oddly placed love scenes. I liked those love scenes, just not the placement. For example, some kids are missing and literally in the midst of finding out what hapoened...  love scene... then they all turn to look at cameras to find out what happened. 😹 Such a bad spot for that.

Once again, the mystery part of this book takes a back seat to the main character talking/thinking about being in a relationship with two men. The main character accepts a mate bond with a male but then two chapters later she is debating with herself about whether it's too early to say I love you 🙄.  Lastly, a key scene is missing all together. They confront the main bad girl and we just hear about it in passing. That was a major thing to skip.

For an erotica story I'd give it 4 stars, for romance it gets 3, and just general Fantasy I'd give it 2.5 stars.

This should have been a slam dunk... concept with the school and reverse harem is good, but... (forgot to finish my review)

Havenfall’s Secrets Are Finally Revealed

WOW 🤩 That might’ve been even better than the 1st book, but in all honesty, that’s only because we finally moved from slow burn to 🔥 I love me some good spice…sorry, not sorry 😝🤷🏻‍♀️ I wouldn’t say there were a massive amount of spicy scenes, but the ones we got, like the security room 👀😳🤯, we’re definitely💥🥵🔥😈 Although, maybe part of why I liked it even more was because of the relationship that built between Quinn & the guys. I loved all the banter between the guys, as well as their individual bonds with Quinn, and also with all of them together. The humor their banter added to the story was well timed, and many times it was laugh out loud hilarious. I just loved their whole dynamic together.
In this book, Quinn further emphasized how amazing she was as a friend, counselor, mate, and as far as this story was concerned, as a human among supernaturals. Then there was the thought she put into the gifts she got the guys, and I loved the scenes where she gave them their gifts too. Those were probably 2 of my favorite scenes in the whole book 🥰 I loved that Evan got to show off his bada$$ alpha side this time around, and whooooooo boy, you don’t wanna mess with that polar bear 😈😂 When he went all alpha & let his animal instinct take over because someone betrayed the school, or especially when his mate was threatened, he actually gave Griff a run for his money with the whole threatening, I-will-end-you, version of himself 😤👀🫣😧😍 Speaking of Griffin….dude….will you ever learn to think before you speak 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄🤷🏻‍♀️😂 Having said that, he definitely made up for it by being sexy AF 😉 I loved how touchy feely he was with Quinn, and that was definitely because of the depth of his feelings for her. Of course, let’s face it, a lot of his mouthiness issues were because she pushed him outside his comfort zone so much, and she always reacted, or said things, in a way that he didn’t anticipate. Of course, those are also things he loved most about her 🥰
I loved the unpredictability that followed along with the mystery that slowly built up during the 1st book, and there were so many possibilities for who was behind all the problems that happened in the 1st story & this one. I was truly shocked in some ways, yet not in others, when everything was finally revealed. She took it somewhere I didn’t anticipate, and touched on extremely unique supernatural issues that I had never read about before. I do feel like the ending was slightly rushed, but it didn’t truly tarnish how much I enjoyed the duet overall. Definitely a duet that I will reread ❤️

Albany Walker is always a one-click author for me. I will read anything and everything she releases! I have noticed a trend in her books though, she likes to leave the reader questioning some of the topics that she has left open ended. In this book in particular, I believe she has enough open ended topics to make another book. She could even make another spin off series about the other schools across the country that have the same issues Griffin warned them about! Some of the questions and ideas that are bouncing around my head like ping pong balls-

>Albany never really resolved what happened to Eva, and I would love to know what happened there!
>I would love to know more background on Evan's family, and their take on him being the dominant one even though he is younger.
>Is Griffin completely the last one in his bloodline? I can't remember if Walker talked about that after she talked about the death of his parents.
>At the other schools, are there more moles around? How are the other schools handling that?
>How will Quinn's family react when they find out she has bonded with not one, but two supernaturals? Especially since they are big supporters of the HOPE foundation.
>I need MORE relationship of Quinn, Griff, and Evan!!

This book starts right out jumping into the plot, AND jumping into the spice!! It picks right up in chapter 5! There is a little bit of a role reversal, and Evan makes a choice that has consequences Griff has to help smooth over, and there are permanent repercussions. Even still, there is this beautiful balance between Griff's gruff side, and Evan's lighthearted side, and the pair work so well together, especially with Quinn. And I always laugh when Griff is jealous of anything Quinn gives to Evan, his J/P side is just so cute.

It did seem weird to me that Quinn always wanted to bridge this gap between Supernaturals and humans, and yet, she was ridiculously clueless about most things Supernatural! In both books she kept asking for clarification and details on things she should already know. I am a newb to the shifter book world and even I knew more than Quinn did. I think she needed to do more studying in order to not come off as offensive or rude, even if on accident.

I do have to say, I was not surprised one bit when the big ending reveal came. I had that "bad guy" picked out from the beginning, and never changed my mind, even when other bad guys surfaced and were found guilty of crimes. So that was a little bit predictable for me. Even so, I still loved the journey! And I won't hesitate to read it again!

The steam was very well written. Albany writes scenes that are descriptive, well articulated, and sizzling! I love the chemistry she works up between her characters, and the angst we feel when we are like, "GET TO IT ALREADY!!" LOL! But that is another thing I have come to expect from Walker, and I appreciate the build up.

This book was fantastic, and I enjoyed all of it!! I loved the paranormal adult academy romance part of it. And I love the two different species of mates with a human. (A similar thing is done in K. Loraine/Meg Anne's book Obsession, The Mate Games! And I loved it there also!) I do hope we get to revisit this entire world in a book 3 *fingers crossed*. Otherwise, I'm sad this is over!

A vampire, a shifter and a human find love

This is the second and final book in this series that centers on a human liason/social worker who goes to work at a supernatural boarding school of sorts. The school is primarily focused on orphans and troubled supernatural youth and in this version of reality, the world now knows vampires and shifters exist and something similar to segregation and racism exists making life as a supernatural more challenging to navigate. This school is designed to provide an education and resources so young supernaturals have a better chance at making it in this ever changing world.

While this is a menage/three-way relationship, and there is some spice, I would say that the series was quite a slow burn and even when there was spice it wasn't over the top or extremely detailed.

What was very well done was the build up and chemistry between the two males and their female. And the story itself was charming.

Things I liked-

While both males are alpha/powerful for their supernatural grouping, they are sweet and doting on the female. Despite this story centering on "monsters" this was not a dark romance.

The main female character was smart, sincere, fearless, willing and able to stand up for herself if a love interest got out of line, and sexually confident.

The banter and interactions between her and her two guys was sweet.

Only thing I struggled with was the ending which I was actually briefly confused about, as this mystery they are trying to solve at the school was the vehicle for all the things they were doing and at 96% of the book it still wasn't wrapped up. It made me think a third book was coming. Then next thing I knew it was over within 5 or 6 pages. I was left wondering if there will indeed be a third book...or if there is another series that addresses some of the side plot lines that were mentioned more than once such as what happened in Siberia that was so profoundly impactful, what is going on with the main female character's family who is involved in HERO and disowned her, in fact the whole HERO thing felt like a major background story arc that could carry over multiple books with multiple characters.

Having said that, this was a fun read. I enjoyed nearly every moment of it.

Book: Havenfall Harbour BOOK 2
Read By: Ebook
Author: Albany Walker
Genre:Reverse Harem, Romance, Fantasy
Recommend: Yes
< b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years
My feelings:

From the very first page, Albany's writing style captivated me with its raw emotion and relatable characters. I found myself completely immersed in the story, unable to put it down. Every word felt like it was carefully chosen to create the perfect balance of suspense and romance. And let me tell you, the chemistry between Quinn, a fierce bear shifter, and Evan, a cool and calculated vampire, is off the charts!
If Griffin Stone wants you dead, you’re dead. There’s no escaping him. He proved that when he killed his father and cemented his place in the vampire hierarchy.

Their love story adds a spicy element to the already intense plot. But what truly sets this book apart are the heartwarming moments that add depth to the characters. Just when I thought I had everything figured out from the previous book, a twist came out of nowhere that left me reeling. It takes skill for an author to surprise their readers like this, and Albany Walker does it flawlessly.
Griff reaches for Quinn’s hand, it’s like it’s become second nature to him, which is funny considering I’d be willing to bet he’s never held another woman’s hand before. Hell, he’d probably carry her around in his pocket if he could manage it.

Though I wished there could have been more story to tell, this final installment did not disappoint. As I turned the last page, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness at saying goodbye to these characters. I dearly hope that Albany will consider continuing this series, as there is still so much potential for Quinn's relationship with her anti-supernatural family to be explored.
“Goddammit, Griff.” Evan chucks something he picked up from the desk against the wall. “The moon knows I’m not perfect, but are you trying to sabotage this?”

I wanted to love it but I couldn't get into the story. The ending seems rushed and the series unresolved.

I found Quinn's character lacking and she came off highly indifferent - she was almost mad, almost jealous etc. - and very clueless about supernatural. The storyline seemed to just touch on relationship issues or potential relationship issues and they never develop into anything more. Quinn is supposed to be a human liason to the supernatural academy but she doesn't know much about the supernatural. It is highly unbelievable and it makes her character naive to the point of coming off dumb. I loved that the storyline was going to be on the teacher level so more mature audience. However, majority of the drama got stuck on the student level and due to Quinn's naive character she came off more of a student . For example, Quinn has a job but she comes off in this 2nd book like she doesn't know what to do with her time (read a book, take a bath, gossip with a friend, have sex with her men, stay in one of their offices while they are working etc). Her character comes off super naive: how many times will she forget super hearing or super smell, and the men have to apologize when they curse in front of her (she works in school that houses troubled kids). Also, hard to believe that the most powerful vampire and strong Alpha don't have more involved past lovers or ex's - 3 women out of which one is a student and other two are subordinates that are highly infatuated. These two women were visibly against Quinn yet they take their time to correct this - but again it's not a big deal bc Quinn comes off very indifferent and so do the men (ie. Almost drama, almost jealous etc). The "almost" really never develops into anything more.

Here we are, back again with the gang, Quinn, Griffin, and Evan.
Seeing Evan, Griff, and Quinn grow in their relationship is adorable and steamy. Griff really just can’t help but get himself in trouble with some of the things he says - it’s adorable how clueless he is in his j/p personality. When Quinn says “lemons” because he’s giving people dirty looks…makes me laugh.
This book really hits some steamy scenes, well done, yummy chili peppers. We get time solo and together, so it’s a good mix to satisfy everyone. Griff has some good dirty talk game,so you have that to look forward to ;) I love that both of the guys claim Quinn, and since she is human and can’t claim them the same way a supernatural can, she still finds a way to claim them back. And the way that Evan and Griffin both love that she claimed them…it’s lovey and adorable.
You do have to wait for the end of the book to the conclusion from the cliffy in the last book - as we progress there is more intrigue and more asking yourself, who is the mastermind? Without any spoilers…there is a little part in the middle where you think the villain is someone else, and then the story progresses and you realize they weren’t the big bad evil, just selfish and not really smart. I did not expect the 3 people involved in the plot at all - big surprise for me.
I can’t share any of my favorite quotes because none are appropriate for polite company, so, you will have to read it yourself - you won’t regret it!
If Albany ever writes an epilogue to see more of Quinn, Evan, Griffin, Ally, Wes, and the rest of the gang, I will devour it.

I'm not sure how this duology got such high ratings. Every time I thought it was going to get good I was left disappointed. Every time Quinn was like, I want to go back to the room, (which was so often)or every time they left her alone in a designated safe space, I was like yes, it's gonna happen. She's gonna get approached by the bad guy and we're gonna see it all play out. IT NEVER HAPPENED. I was disappointed with the villains, It was clear who should have been the bad guys from the beginning. Instead we got newer characters who didn't make sense. We got to see more of characters who didn't end up being important to the story as a whole.

The smut was decent, should have added that to the first book. Griffin was an ass a lot of the time and he said things that were awful to our heroine. Made her feel low and doubt herself. Even if he apologized, he didn't seem sorry.

The world as a whole could have been fleshed out more. Their ages. What happened to Eva. I was very let down when the villains didn't turn out to be Letty, Millie, and Bill. Adding in Michelle and how she referred to Griffin as Headmaster, like Millie does, made me hope that Millie was supplying the bags of blood and Letty was the partner in charge of the security aspect. You know, one rat in security, one rat in the office, one rat in with the kids. It make much more sense than how it all played out in the end.

Even less of a fan of this one. Quinn is constantly infantilized by her partners, and although we're told she takes no crap from them, we don't really see it. She glares from time to time, but mainly just does what she's told. Most of the book is her being secreted away in their room to keep her safe—it seems like she never works. The men are overbearing and possessive, and Griffin is constantly hurting her feelings. The men also seem to be terrible at their jobs, and Griffin at least doesn't care at all. The plot is contradictory (like Evan physically being incapable of not "helping" Quinn in certain situations to just then being able to walk away in even more intense versions of that situation), and the world building is sparse at best. There are really stupid plot choices too. Just not a compelling story to me.

I started this book the same day I finished the first one. I liked the first one better. I didn't feel like this one had as much adventure or action as the first. But, just like the first, I was waiting for things to happen to Quinn, so that Griffin and Evan had to show their power and love. I did enjoy that the relationship was explained more deeply, instead of just solely focusing on sex between them. I thought Quinn buying rings for them both was the sweetest thing ever. Everyone knew she belonged to them both from the bite from Evan and the scar from Griffin, but nobody knew that they belonged to Quinn in the human way. What better way to show they are committed to her... rings! I did not appreciate how Griffin responded to her when he got his ring. It matched his personality, but ugh. It would have made me feel exactly like Quinn did. The whole Wet thing confused me for a little bit. It still never revealed exactly why they were using Quinn's blood for Wet and why she was hit in the head in the first book. I was hoping to get clarity with that. I'm giving this book a spice rating of 4, just like the first. The sex scenes were just as hot.

I think I originally would’ve rated it as 3 1/2 stars but I rounded up because I love Albany Walker.

These two books were a bit hard for me to get through at times. There was SO MUCH potential for every single character that was mentioned. Every single one. I loved the mystery aspect of this plot line but I felt that for as many pages as there were in total for both books, not a single aspect of story was fully flushed out. Quinn had so much potential and a unique insight as not only the sole human at the school but also a supernatural advocate among her anti supernatural family. But I don’t feel that was dove into enough. I can tell you what each character is wearing at any given time but not details about Griffin and Evan’s traumatic upbringing. Or even more details about the supernatural characters as a whole. I feel like it had all the aspects of a great book and story but the execution just fell short for me this time.

I’ll say it again, I LOVE Albany Walker and will read anything by her. Her characters are always interesting and relatable and her stories are incredibly easy to read and hard to put down.

Book one had me on Edgge built up with so much anticipation. What coupling was missed in book one is thoroughly made up for in book 2. The plot is great. There is so much development involved with this extensive property size and community, major props to Albany Walker for world building. I Am in Love with Everyones character. I understand the divisions and slimmed down character attributes she has revealed to us readers. There is truly to much to say for me, To be Able to express all of what I think or feel about this series. I see this series as almost as if it is a yin and yang pairing with Friends with the monsters series. I find the only 2 books concept to be a classy tease. I keep my thirst to dig through piles of books to find my preferred flavor. Ms Walker, I'm addicted to your words and imagination. I'm satisfied but I seek you out for more. I desire a third Harborfall book but I can understand dreaded economics. Harbofall has such a large foundation that it has potential to be many books. But if harborfall was more than 2 or three books, how might it lose its allure then? (Just something to ponder, not my request to be answered)

I was dying slowly while waiting for this book and once I got my hands on it I devoured it in a day, like I do all of Albany's books! I loved this book and the characters so much!

We pick up were we left off in book 1 but, oh, the plot thickens! Was Quinn's attack really just a random thing? Or does it have more to it? Is Havenfall safe? Is Quinn safe? One things for sure, Quinn's guys won't let harm come to either.

I wanted to slap Griffin so many times I think I'd have broken my hand on his pretty face. Evan was so adorable and much more romantic than I expected. And Quinn is an ideal picture of a strong female lead.

The ending felt rushed and I'm disappointed there are no more books planned for this series as of now. The ending left me wanting and, while the plot was fulfilled, I still have questions about the relationship moving forward.

Despite that I'm sure I'll end up rereading this duology when I go into a reading slump, like I do with Albany's Infinity Chronicles. I cannot wait to read what Albany has planned for us next!

… I… I don’t even know what to say…. I’m so torn on how to rate this book. It ended SO abruptly. Like… I spent 15 mins looking online for the possibility of a third book even after seeing a quote from the author saying there were only two… I just couldn’t believe there wasn’t one more in the works. Basically, every single plot was left unanswered... I went to check what chapter I was on & was beyond shocked when I saw there were only SEVEN minutes left in the book and still no answers on anything. So much time was put in the book up until the last chapter. It’s like the author just gave up, which made me sad because I really enjoyed this series. 😪 I think a third book was needed or minimum 7-10 more long chapters. I was expecting some drama with the female lead and rescued by the males at the very least… But no… nothing. 🫣 If it hadn’t been for the abrupt conclusion, I would have probably given five stars. To be frank, even the four stars I gave felt generous given the ending. It’s only because I enjoyed the characters & world so much that I rounded up.

Let Down and happy it was Kindle Free to Borrow

Anticlimactic... Sorry 😞 I feel like truth always outweigh the niceties. Author was trying to have a strong character build and storyline but so much was lost or just under written or even forgotten. I figured part 1 was building to a strong fight and people bad side and thoughts would become known... But that did not happen. I did not hate this series but I hope in the near future this will be rewritten and maybe it will live up to what I feel this author can deliver. Don't pay for this series but if you want a reverse harem book but don't mind some disappointment this is a decent series. At least it was only two books. I would have given up if it had been more. FMC seemed weak and confused about her own desires. She needed some sexual backbone to rival her attitude to defend kids she did not even understand. Very Little House on the Prairie in the Big City way of thinking.
