I was so engrossed with this book, I finished it in a single sitting. Interestingly, there is a foreward by Lindsay Lohan and Marilyn's "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" co-star Jane Russell. It's full of photographs and notes taken by the author's father, Bruno Bernard aka Bernard of Hollywood. It does have several gaps in the star's life, but I suppose it's due to it only being Bernard's photographs. That, and the fact it's not an actual biography. I recommend this to all Marilyn Monroe fans.

This is a lovely picture book with some tidbits about MM's life scattered throughout. The background provided by the author is superfluous; actually, it's kind of annoying, because it implies the author had a greater connection to MM than is probably the actual case. I recommend skipping the text and sticking with the photos.

I expected more information about Marilyn in this, and didn't like how this author kept referring to herself as the sole protector of Marilyn's legacy... even though there didn't seem to be much TO this legacy but the author's father's notes and pictures. But the photos were interesting and cool, and I liked some of the backstory to them.

This book is a sheer delight! The photos by Bruno Bernard are breathtakingly beautiful! The text is wonderful! I love this book and I totally recommend it! Contains a wonderful photo suitable for framing!
