Drugs. Abuse. Fear. Toxicity.
That’s all I had ever known until Vincent came into my life. Then it all got exponentially worse.
I was a trade. Payment for the money my drug addicted parents owed him.
Now, I am his slave-set to do whatever keeps him satisfied.
My only relief is the blade I take to my skin every chance I get.
I am lost in the swirl of chaos my whole life has become, but there is no happy ending because this is just the life of a Creep like me.

Creep is the authors debut novel, and what a novel indeed. I’m pleasantly surprised by the author's level of talent. Her writing is out of the box, characters are complex, and she is not shy of writing about Sensitive subjects. Several factors I look for in a dark romance. Plus, she is very detailed in her writing, I only have a handful of dark romance authors that fit this category for me, and I am now adding Marie Ann to my list.

I will be honest. As in any dark romance, there are triggers. Take them seriously. I love my books dark, and this is between dark gray to black on some scenes, on my dark scale. This book is not for everybody, and that is okay; go in blind and keep an open mind.

I devoured this book in one sitting and was captived from page one. Dark parts start from page two and come in waves. Some darker than others, Essa is one hell of a survivor, damaged and continues to survive but at times just barely lives through life. Vincent, I love to hate. Toxic and hot as hell. He does have a shimmer of redemption. These two are more alike in than they think and mesh very well together.

A creep and a monster—two sides of the very same coin.

The book ends in one hell of a cliffhanger, and I was not ready at all. Let me tell you. I felt so much rage while reading this book. To put it nicely, I wanted to smack around some of the characters. I have a few predictions and hope I am wrong; I look forward to what the author has in store for us,

Essa James has gone a lot through her life. She was raped by her step-father and her mother never cared for her. Her parents are drug adicts, who can't feel anything besides their own comfort. The best thing of her life is her sister. Before her graduation she is loaned by her parents to Vincent, a local drug dealer. They owe him money, since they can't pay him they sells her for a few nights with Vincent. But after meeting her Vincent changes his mind, for he is intrigued with her and decides to keep her.

This is a twisted relationship. Everyone is busy or cold in Essa's life. Vincent who is intrigued of her rarely is soft to her. He plans to destroy her. There are many triggers in this book. He is not prepared for Essa to stand up to him no matter how much he scares her. She is a strong and courageous girl. I like that she doesn't spent time self-pitying with all the things she faced in life.

This book has darkness bountiful. I like the characters and the story, my downfall here is the writing which kept me from enjoying the book fully. The hero is the villain of the story, well, as far as book 1 shows. This book ends with a cliffhanger.

Essa, a daughter of a majorly abusive stepfather and uncaring mother and raised in a family that treats her horribly, ends up traded to her parents' dealer for drug debts they can't pay. She is the only daughter subjected to years of abuse and has tolerated life -- a cutting vice thrown in -- for her older sister, whom she has shielded for 10 years in hopes of giving her a future. Vincent, of druggie mother, foster homes, and poor beginnings, acquires Essa in the deal and their sado-masochistic relationship evolves in the months she is confined to him.

This a gritty, sorrowful, and dark story. Aside from the rendering of childhood abuse (which frankly would have been better without all the detail), there is an abundance of psychological darkness stemming from sexual, physical, and mental traumas Essa suffers growing up. Then, there is Vincent who, recognizing the counterpart to his monster, directs her pain/pleasure as a balm although not necessarily altruistically; he is a sadist to her masochism. But one can't but admire Essa; her personality is fierce. She is feisty to the ills and bad people in her life and tries to hold her own. She's amazingly strong under circumstances most could not endure. Vincent is unrepentant, possessive, an alphahole vacillating between cold, detached control and ferocious anger and obsession. But there is a connection between them that they aren't aware of that begins to play out in the story.

What I liked about this story: well-written, consummate character development, intriguing and disquieting storyline. There was a tenebrous undercurrent and a sorrowfulness and pain that were heart-felt. The chemistry between Vincent and Essa was organic, believable, and tangible. Again, I loved Essa's character, and Vincent was so realistic. I had distain for Essa's family members, and resentment of her sister, which the author did an excellent job of cultivating.

I was not so inclined to other elements of the story, at least as they ultimately played out. While the sexual relations by some definition steamy and kinky, they were graphically violent, disturbing. I recognized the nature of their relationship, and the pleasure and oblivion they realized through their sex. I also absolutely like dark themes and am not troubled by them. However, the initial childhood violence, and later sexual S&M fare and every day predator-prey events became repetitive and gratuitously brutal -- blood, knife, breath, mutilation. This repetition made the story feel longer than it was, and that nothing really happened in this first book. The story lacked balance between relief and trauma / pain with only a smidge of levity from Vincent's crazy inner remarks and simple plot progression.

Overall, a different story than the usual dark fiction and I was intrigued by it. Essa was a noteworthy and favorite heroine; Vincent's character, so well-developed that I could see the scenes played in his eyes, feel his thoughts even. I am very interested in how this book unfolds and hope for some happy times for a strong but persecuted Essa.

nopety nope. I was actually super eager about starting this but I read a review of the second book Monster and at some point the heroine has to watch a woman suck the hero off. Don't know if this one is unsafe as well but I can't find it in me to start reading knowing that. Give me just about any kind of crazy triggering sh*t and I'll be able to handle it BUT cheating. Not that pls. It just breaks my heart so much.
So sad:((

That prologue is rough. From the get go, you know this book isn't going to be safe. At all.

So basically, there was this girl being given to this sadistic man to pay off the debt her parents have. That's the set up.

The core of this book, however, is blood play. Oh god, they played the fuck out of that blood. If you're queasy about this, better stay away. Also, huge trigger warning for self harm. It's rough and graphic.

Nevertheless, there are few issues that I quite didn't like in this. Something that I noticed from this author other books, she really likes to name drop songs in almost every single chapter. I don't like this and it's cringing sometimes.

Next, it's repetitive. For the first few times, sure it's shocking and horrifying to see the H cutting her skin, and she cutting herself etc but by the end of the book, it got boring pretty fast.

Overall, I think it's a specific type of dark romance that could've catered to a specific type of readers. Just not me.

𝕾𝖍𝖊 𝖜𝖆𝖘 𝖒𝖆𝖉𝖊 𝖙𝖔 𝖋𝖚𝖈𝖐𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖗𝖚𝖎𝖓 𝖒𝖊.

Okay I have been sitting on this since I first beta read this back in early March (as if it’s been that long since I’ve been in Essa and Vin’s head) 🤯

AHHHHH *dramatically stamping my feet* Marie what have you done to me?! From all the teasers/blurb/cover you can tell that this is already going to be a dark book and Marie does not disappoint in how dark she’s willing to go.

Essa is such a complex character to me, her need for pain and her fierce strength is something I fkn love beyond words. With such a dark broken past, she knows nothing but pain, brutal and twisted pain and her life doesn’t seem to get better when she is paid as a drug debt by her parents.

Vincent is toxic. I wish that was all I could say about him, but GODAMN he is one character that has been on my mind since I finished that book. I wanna know so much more about him and what moments we get in his head make me crave sooooo much more.

To say that the two MC’s are at each other’s throats would be an understatement, but yeah... they seriously fight back against any feelings that isn’t animosity until they clash in a spectacular array of blood, pain and pleasure.

Spoiler free but Essa’s journey means so much to me, her strength to keep fighting breathed life into my lungs and reminded me what it was like to fight back. In the end she is easily one of my favourite MC’s I’ve read in a long while.

Speaking of endings, MARIE WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?! Like I know we’re friends and I love you but DAMMIT WOMAN DON’T DO THAT TO ME AGAIN... EVER

Creep is definitely an unconventional dark romance; the characters are incredibly damaged and the love is toxic as fuck. Right from the prologue, I was stunned by the rawness of Marie Ann's writing. I felt like I was reading Essa's personal journal, forcing me inside her mind and coaxing empathy to spill from every part of me. This poor girl goes through trauma that no one should ever have to endure, and I was immediately invested in where her story was headed.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star. Save us. Someone please come save us."

Potential triggers: explicit rape of a minor, parental neglect, substance use and addiction, graphic self-harm, captivity, non-con between love interests, BDSM, blood play, knife play.

Vincent is an asshole with few, if any, redeeming qualities. I can't say I hated him because I was incredibly intrigued by him, but was I swooning for him? Hard no. Ultimately, I could appreciate that, despite his emotional limitations, he is one of the few people to value Essa. Even if it's in his own, incredibly toxic way.

"A creep and a monster—two sides of the very same coin."

The representation of mental illness, trauma and self-harm is incredibly well-done and my heart broke for both Vin and Essa, for what they've been through and how they learned to cope. The blood play is a little intense for my personal taste, but I could understand its connection to both characters' emotional experiences.

I loved the use of music throughout this book. It added to the gritty and dark tone of this story, but also served to connect Vin and Essa in a way that went beyond their behaviour.

"She’s so fucking addictive. Her broken and beautifully tragic soul lures my raging inferno of one out of its depths, and together they merge into something savage, ravenous."

The writing is definitely a little rough and repetitive, with some hard-hitting and striking lines shining through. I chose to look beyond the roughness, as I was well aware that this story is a debut. I've decided that this story's strength lies in it's authenticity — certain aspects of Essa's story will not soon be forgotten. The ending is equal parts poetic and brutal and definitely makes me want to continue with Monster.

Im used to reading these type of books so I didn’t check before and um yeah it was a lot darker than I thought. But I did love it. You know me loving the most psychotic toxic man there is and thinking hmm I can make him fall in love with me and make him turn *nice*

This is the authors debut novel and she didn't hold back with the dark aspect of the story. I liked how the story pushed the boundaries in a lot of scenarios so if you have triggers then be warned.

For some reason I couldn't connect to Vincent at all. Usually I gravitate to the dark, unforgiving, toxic male characters but something was missing for me. I also felt like a few of the scenes between Essa and Vincent came off as repetetive.

This is part one of a duet and ends on a cliffhanger.

I am a lover of all things dark romance. I have no triggers. I love the irredeemable. I love the depraved. The more twisted the better. Creep had all of these things in spades.

A lot of the time when people tell me a book is dark I don’t believe them. My black scale just seems to be set to a darker level than most. Well, as an unofficial aficionado I can confirm that Creep is deep on the darkness scale. There were so many times in this book that things just seemed irrevocably bleak. Even the things that Essa found as positives in this book were just basic components for life; food, a bed, for her sister to be out of harm’s way. I’m not going to go into the plot or Essa’s relationship with Vin too deep here but just know that the happiness that is found in this book is not linear.

I think my biggest takeaway from this is how connected I felt to the cutting. I personally have never been one to self harm but people I love have and even as a strong empath I’ve had a hard time understanding the compulsion. Creep has changed that for me, without romanticizing it in any way. I’ve read a few novels with cutting mentioned but never have I gotten to crawl inside of a character like Essa and so thoroughly experienced the mania, control and ultimately relief that cutting brings her. That, to me, is the true testament of great writing.

This book hit so differently than a lot of the darker romance I read. I cannot wait for Monster!

First off how the hell is this a debut book!! God the characters and the writing are amazing! Vincent and Essa are freaking hot! I don’t even know where to begin this review because really you just need to go in blind so that you can feel and experience everything that embodies Vincent and Essa. These two characters are two sides of the same coin they both crave the pain, they both need the pain. The Creep and the Monster who bring each other calmness to their chaotic lives. Parts of Essa resonate deep in my soul. Such a beautifully written story. I don’t know the right words to give you to let you know how amazing this book was. One of my top reads to date and you absolutely have to get your hands on this one... u will not be disappointed... Exceeded all of my expectations!

Debut book? You fooled me

Marie Ann has literally blown me away. This is not a fluffy HEA this is raw and dark. It’s toxic and painful but it deals with things many people refuse to talk about. It had me taking a look in my old mirror. Though the reflection has changed, the young girl is still there, still a Creep just stronger.

"But for some twisted reason, I crave you".

Another Dark Romance that I absolutely devoured in one sitting. This is one of those dark reads that sneak up on you. Within the first chapter you're hit with a scene that you wish you didn't read, but one that just hooks you into continuing. If it starts off dark within the first few pages, you know you're in for one hell of a ride.

Essa James has had a hard life, and to relieve herself from some of this pain she takes a blade to herself whenever the world becomes too much. Just when she thinks her life is starting to brighten up alittle, her stepfather made a trade with a drug dealer. To pay off some of his debt, he has given Essa over to Vincent, who can do whatever he wants with her whenever he wants too. Essa knew her stepfather was a d*ck but she didn't think he would trade her.

"Our souls have emerged from the deepest depths of our hells to find one another. And found one another they have".

Vincent's plan was to ruin Essa. He wanted her to suffer and he wanted it to be by his hands. What he wasn't prepared for was for Essa to be so strong. Why did this turn him on so much? This was such a fun little game of Cat and Mouse! I instantly fell in love with Essa and Vincent. What I didn't love? That God damn ending... only because it left me with a massive Cliffhanger! Never fear, I had book two awaiting.

WOW WOW WOW!!!

I can’t believe this was Marie’s debut book! Talk about intense! This book is DARK. Read the trigger warnings before you proceed but for those that aren’t weary of trigger warnings this book is for you!!

From the very first chapter in Vin’s perspective I was in LOOOOOVE. He’s definitely an antihero you will love to hate right along with Essa. She definitely has a stronger will than me because she fights him up until the last page! Just when you think Vin is going to be sweet...he opens his mouth LOL. Both Essa and Vin come from dark childhoods which is something a lot of us will be able to relate to.

Creep is a captive romance with lots of dubcon.

I LOVED IT!!! Cant wait for the next book!

So right off the bat I identify with the female main character. I have my own reasons for this. And I'm not going to go into a big detail about it.

However that being said, I understood the female character. And insanely enough I understood the main male character as well.

This is an insanely dark story. The reason I gave it three stars, and I realized that this is probably not a popular opinion but, the reason is for one, the story kind of becomes tedious after a while. Your left wanting to press the fast forward button so to speak. We get it that they had this insane Quasimodo romance. Of pain and torture and pleasure and blah blah blah. We get it. It would have been better if there was a little bit more substance to it. Like taking her out in public let's say. See how that dynamic worked. However it was a good story. It was well written, for the most part. And I found myself disturbed yes, but wanting to read to the end to see what happens next.

The reason that it lost another star for me is because of the ending. There was no tying it up. There was no ending. There was this Cliffhanger without the promise of anything in the future. So to me their story isn't finished. But judging by the afterward from the author, it would appear that the story is done. And honestly it left me unsatisfied. I want to see what comes next. And honestly there's no promise of that. There's not even a hint.

I really would have loved to have seen Vincent become possessive of this girl, and of course he did but still, and then find out what causes her panic attacks. And then dealt with it. To me Ben and her mother just got off with not even a swipe to the ass. What happened to our heroine should have been dealt with. There should have been some form of revenge. Honestly when Vincent came and took her out into the woods I thought that's what was going to happen. That whole scene just does not make sense to me. Now if he had brought her out there to deal with her stepfather ,I guess would be the term, then yeah I could have seen it but that whole poppy thing just didn't make sense. And the fact that they let Ben get away with everything he did to her just kind of irks me. I'm telling you right now if I were her and I had the chance to make that asshole pay, I would have. In the most imaginative ways possible. So I'm kind of left on satisfied about that too.

For a debut book, it was really well written. And I would be interested to see what else comes from this author's mind. There was a lot of inflection. So it makes me wonder if the author has suffered through some form of abuse yourself. And I was addicted to finding out what happens next. If not for the lulling, and the lack of substance I suppose is a good word, this would have been a great book. And of course the ending just was I don't know. It wasn't satisfying. But other than those two things that just kind of drove me insane, I enjoyed the book. It was dark as it was.

Hi Friends! Let me tell you about this book I just read!

“𝙲𝚁𝙴𝙴𝙿“ tells the story of 𝚅𝚒𝚗 & 𝙴𝚜𝚜𝚊. Both equally and colossally flawed individuals, who had to fight EVERY DAY for their survival in this unforgiving world they were each thrust into. Essa Jaymes Monroe is offered up as collateral by her viciously abusive “father” to settle a drug debt. Enter Vincent Lee Anthony, a drug dealer and fixer in the incredibly lucrative world of underground crime.

The rest of the story is yours to uncover...

There are few authors (out of the millions) who’s stories I connect with that wow me! Who don’t just entertain or enlighten, they make you feel like you are actually there as a voyeur watching the story unfold. For Marie to accomplish this in her debut novel is rare, but damn it, SHE DID IT! After devouring this deeply painful, and chaotic story, I am dumbfounded and utterly blown away by Marie’s words. My heart and my mind are completely eviscerated, yet I am craving for more!

꧁𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚍 𝙸 𝚕𝚊𝚒𝚍 𝚖𝚢 𝚎𝚢𝚎𝚜 𝚘𝚗 𝚑𝚎𝚛, 𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚗𝚎𝚍. 𝙼𝚢 𝚙𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚏𝚎𝚕𝚝 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚙𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚜 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗 𝚞𝚜 𝚋𝚎𝚐𝚊𝚗 𝚝𝚘 𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚐𝚎꧂

𝚅𝚒𝚗, my baby, he is powerful and all consuming, without a doubt my new favourite villain? hero? I can’t tell them apart anymore! His inner dialogue was probably my favourites as his character progression was the strongest. Jaws by Sleep Token can sum up what I can’t convey in my words. He just deserves so much!

꧁𝚆𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚕 𝚒𝚗 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢 𝚊𝚜𝚙𝚎𝚌𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚕𝚒𝚏𝚎, 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚑 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚙𝚞𝚛𝚎𝚕𝚢 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚜 𝚊𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚎. 𝙼𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚜𝚘 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚗𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚖𝚢 𝚘𝚠𝚗 𝚙𝚊𝚒𝚗꧂

𝙴𝚜𝚜𝚊, her character just haunts me, she has worked her way into my soul! However, she is the most maddening mix of gutsy, strong-minded and pliable. Her angst drove me up the wall, but also, it is the entire reason this story was so authentic! She didn’t completely give in, and that is what steered this story to the heart-stopping, stupefying ending I never saw coming.

*𝚆𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐* this story deals with sensitive subject matter, self harm and blood play.

"Yeah, baby doll. You feel it too, don’t you? That right there is our monsters mingling— recognizing one another."

I was BLOWN AWAY! Reading this is so hard to believe this is a debut book. Marie created this world and these characters who stole my breath and my heart.
From the first page, Essa captured my attention. She has been to hell and back multiple times and yet remains strong. She's an idiot at times but she's a brave, courageous, and determined idiot. Lol. She will not go down without a fight and will do whatever it takes to protect her sister. Then comes Vincent.
Vincent! Ugh, Vincent. He is a strong, scary, angry, broken, beautiful man. He deals in some shady business. He plans to use Essa and destroy her. He's a very dominant man with some specific tastes in the bedroom. He thinks he will scare Essa away but he's not prepared for her to stand up to him and refuse to break for him.
Marie takes us on a wild and tumultuous ride full of angst, emotions, trauma, healing, and pain. This is not your typical dark romance. This is a category all of its own. This is not a sweet happily ever after fairy tale romance. This is two people with pain and monsters so deep inside its hard to let go and heal. But their monsters do call to each other. They are drawn to each other but it might not make a difference.
The ending had me shook to my core and screaming. I was not ready and could not have guessed that in any way. I cannot wait for the next book. I can't wait to see what else Marie throws out to us!

For Those Dark Readers!
3.5 stars
I’m going to enjoy breaking her body. And her mind.

Creep is a fantastic debut by Marie Ann for all those dark hearted romance lovers! I really did not expect it to be so dark, so those trigger warnings that are in place? Don’t take them lightly, cause they go HARD!

The two main characters both share something in common: a crappy upbringing. Creep brings to light the harsh reality of mental health, physical and emotional abuse, and everything in between. This isn’t a love story, not yet, but it’s one that can grab you by the heart anyways.

To be honest, I struggled with writing this review. It’s an amazing debut, but I just couldn’t seem to fully connect with these characters and this story as a whole. While I did find it captivating during certain parts, others I felt like something was missing. There wasn’t a whole lot of development between characters, some of it became repetitive, and certain things felt irrelevant with a couple characters.

Besides all of that, this book was HOT, the tension was there, and you could feel the importance behind this story. Creep ended on a cliffhanger and I’m itching for what’s gonna happen next! After what Essa did to Vincent, I’m curious to see how that’ll play out next, cause she’s not gonna get off easyyy.

Some books will stay with you forever.

That is Creep. Many will say I'm biased and that's okay, the fact of the matter is that Creep has a piece of my soul. Marie started writing Creep before I had ever seen it but once I started reading it, I connected with it on a primal level. A level that I'm not quite comfortable sharing in a review but just know that many things in this book I can relate to.

The storyline, the writing, the poppies.

The poppies. Forever will I be a poppy lover now and Vin & Essa continue to fester in my gut.

I love how absolutely dark this love story was. There is nothing pretty in this strange love between Vincent and Essa and that makes it perfect! Can't wait for the second book to come to see if Vincent and Essa will reunite and if they will find middle ground in their dark obsession. Fingers crossed they do 🤞

Beautifully damaged

This book was everything. The characters are so beautifully broken and damaged. Everything about them screams wrong and yet they’re so so right for each other. This book will be tough to read for some, please make sure you read the triggers. It does end on a cliffhanger but it’s so worth it.

TRIGGER WARNING FOR GRAPHIC DEPICTIONS OF SELF HARM (CUTTING) AND RAPE

Creep was an incredible interesting read for me.

In the first chapter, I had to put the book down because of the incredibly triggering self harm scene. It's my own fault for not reading the blurb and going in blind, lol. I came very close to DNFing, but decided to push through because I was still interested in the story.

I hate that I didn't fall head over heels in love with it. I think my own issues held me back from connecting with the story - we all have our limits I guess. Creep was super explicit, sometimes overly, and it was just a lot. I love a good BDSM story, I love blood play, knife play... but yeah. I don't know if I'll be picking up the second book.

Marie did an excellent job with Creep for it to be a debut dark rom novel. Creep is a duology with the extremely malicious but hot stuff which keeps you intriguied to get to the next page. It was fast paced and I loved Vincent and Essa. With the monsters in them, that yearns to give pain and craves pain just as much, made both of them perfect for each other. The smut, I've never read something like this but it was completely explosive and if you're not knives and blood while in bed, this isn't for you. Their story is far from over and I am about pick up the next book.

REVIEW: what a bloody, emotional ride this was. This book is what I wanted “Girl in Pieces” to be. I wanted to dive deeper & get more brutal with the self harm our FMC causes herself, & Creep did that perfectly. Maaaaassive trigger warnings for this one you guys, it is DARK. I connected with this novel pretty deeply because of my own experiences with self harm (7 months of not hurting myself WOO!) & reading a book that talks about the why of self harm was so therapeutic. I can’t even tell you how many times people have seen my scars or cuts & say I do it for attention. NO.

“When deep down inside you want to die, is anything ever truly enough?”

You wanna know why people cut? Read this book. Marie Ann shoves it in your face, there is no shying away from these hard topics in this book. I’m so excited to see what’s coming in the second part of this duet. We ended on a major cliff hanger (I hate you Marie) & what I thought was gunna happen did not!! I’m hoping we focus more on how brutal our love interests inner monster can be. Hopefully some revenge too!

“Her broken and beautifully tragic soul lures my raging inferno of one out of its depths, and together they merge into something savage, ravenous.”

I honestly don't know if I have all of the words needed to describe this book. I was sucked in by the cover, completely lost inside the book by the end of page one and I stayed that way up until the very last page.

Essa is broken early in life and continues to break all in the name of keeping her sister safe. Taking on years of abuse only to be traded from one soul shattering form to another.

Vincent, a drug dealer with a monster locked inside, takes Essa as a form of payment however, even just seeing her he knows that he needs more from her than what is agreed on. He wants everything from her but most of all, he wants to ruin her.

Essa and Vincent are two sides of the same dark, twisted & deranged coin. The pain they crave - one to give it, one to receive it - can only be from each other. They hate each other yet crave each other. Essa, wanting nothing to do with Vincent yet still needing everything to do with what he can give.

Vincent craves everything that is Essa yet he has no idea why. A fact that tends to bring out the worst in him. Which in turn gives Essa a better look at the monster he holds within.

CREEP is NOT for the faint of heart or easily triggered. Creep is stays true to the darkness. Every dark nook and cranny that can be found within a book is found here. There is no HEA as this is part one of a duet.

Fuck. Thats seriously the first word that comes to mind after 1) finishing Creep, and 2) that cliffhanger. So, let’s talk.

Essa and Vincent were a fucking force. They are two broken souls who fit perfectly together. They were explosive in a good and bad way, but having these feelings is uncharted territory for both of them as they grew with no sense of love. It also doesn’t help that.... yanno.... Vincent is a drug dealer who took Essa as payment for a debt.. but moving on. This story is definitely not a fairytale. Essa and Vincent are destructive together, and Vincent isn’t a good guy. But I’m hoping they can be each other’s saviors.

The cliffhanger(s). Holy shit i did not see it coming. My heart hurt. I slid into Marie Ann’s DMs saying i wish i was having a bad dream 🤣 but let me say... for her debut novel.. she KILLED this book. she left me wanting so much more. my mind was swarming with possibilities for the next book..which, i need ASAP. 5⭐️

Trigger warning: this book is full of triggers like self harm/mutilation, drug use, CSA, rape, edge play, and hitting/slapping.
