It's never too late. Especially to fall in love... Gina Gupta has never truly fallen for anyone. For a flat, yes. But a living, breathing woman? Nope. She came out late, and now she’s busy running her property firm. Perhaps she and love are simply incompatible. When she meets business hotshot and TV star India Contelli, she’s sure that’s not going to change. India is rich, gorgeous and heartbroken. Gina sells her a rooftop dream, then leaves. At least, that was how the script was meant to go. Instead, the duo end up tangled in each other’s lives, with neither wanting to escape. What's more, when they set out on a mission to reunite two long-lost lovers, the last thing they expect is for the romantic stardust to work on them, too... Best-selling author Clare Lydon brings you the next instalment of the London Romance series, and it doesn’t disappoint! 4 Stars for Hot London Nights: London Romance, Book 7 (audiobook) by Clare Lydon read by Lucy Price-Lewis.
A need for a new flat in London brings these two successful women together. They both have an appreciation for rooftop views and ultimately each other.
3.5 stars. This was okay. A nice read. I wanted to really like this, but somehow, I didn't really care about the characters, although it's quite a sweet story.
The book has a lot of ingredients that I like: The mains are slightly older (39 and 41), the story is set in London (and rooftops, no less), both are business owners. A plus for diversity (Gina is Indian).
But, the story holds no real excitement or plot twists: India (CEO of a biskuit company) returns to London and is in search of a new flat. Gina is a real estate agent and wants to sell one of her rooftop flats. They both like each other, and they have a lot in common: Trouble with their exes. Some time later they get together, they fuck (their words, not mind). They claim to have feelings, but especially in the beginning it's rather that they've fallen in lust. And then the conflict... It's really rather ridiculous and childish and made up.
One thing that was difficult for me were the names of the mains. In reading, India and Gina are not really similar, but it took me quite a while to get into the book because they sound so similar. While I really liked the narrator (her voice reminds me of Mel B..), she didn't use different voices for different characters, so it was even less easy.
But in the end, it's still a nice and sweet story with likeable mains and a great setting.
Gina, a successful property business woman wonders if she is ever going to find love but when she meets minor celebrity business woman India when she is looking for her dream home in London there might be a chance; still Gina is wary. India is heartbroken following her breakup and isn’t looking for love but is quite taken with Gina, especially when Gina seems to hold the key to achieving one of her dreams. When Gina accompanies India on her mission to reunite two long-lost lovers, it appears there might be more than old flames being rekindled.
This was so great! A culturally diverse, down to earth, every-day love story even if one of the characters is a minor celebrity. I absolutely adored Gina and India’s story. It was so realistic and yet had a magic and a wonder of the not so every day, even though both Gina and India were doing well for themselves and successful in business they weren’t unrealistic with their status.
The cutest thing was for both of them finding someone else who completely understood what they were going through and had been through similar experiences, so they could support one another. It also leant well to the drama and hesitance to believe love was possible for them, which caused some brilliant intense moments amongst the cute and more heated scenes.
There was also a great underlying story in this book which I hope we will learn more about in a future story because that was the most magical thing of the whole read. The plot that drove the story was one I found engaging, exciting, and a whole lot of fun! Whenever Clare writes a story, it is a hit with me because it is always filled with the most wonderful things, is imaginative, and most of all, no matter what else is being covered in the story, it always has brilliantly fun moments that just make you feel like you are right there and a part of things. I really did feel a part of this story in particular, and it has to be one of my favourites of the London Romance series I have read so far!
A story everyone should read and experience because it really was the most wonderful of romances! I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait to read it again, again, and again.
This is my first novel by Clare Lydon and it will not be my last. I have read so many positive reviews on all of her novels that I am not sure why it took me so long to get on board. Even though I jumped in at book #7 in the London series I found my way easily into the story and the characters. Although I am positive that reading the series in order will give me a better perspective, Hot London Nights can be read as a stand alone. Thank you Clare Lydon for writing a love story with mature women facing mature problems. The story encompasses coming out in your thirties, fame, cultural pressures and ex girlfriends. The characters are strong business women who are very likeable. The writing is exceptional. I found myself smiling as I read the novel as it was that enjoyable. 5⭐️
What I love about Clare is that she writes about communities, recognises that we are all effected by so many external sources, and she has the confidence and assurity to write that. So you get so much more than the main characters - their families, their friends and, importantly in this one, their ex's! And, like a puzzle, if, as I have, you've read all the series, the characters reappear. Love it.
I can't believe this is number seven in the London Series, and I really hope Clare Lydon never stops writing this series. At the end of the last book, Made In London, I was desperate for a book about India, and Clare Lydon delivered in spades.
India and Gina were made for each other. I had so much fun reading their story, and the instant attraction between India and Gina was just so engaging. I couldn't put it down.
I thought my favourite character was going to be India because, well... hot damn! But I ended up loving Gina. She was so kind and gave me all the feels every time she was thinking about India.
Hello Sexy India! Clare Lydon always knows how to write a great sex scene, and this book did not disappoint. The chemistry between India and Gina was so good I could almost feel it.
I love Clare's books, and this one is definitely up there with my favourites. She just keep's hitting them out of the park. There is a reason she is one of my all-time favourite authors. I really can't wait for the next book in the series.
India, the CEO of the family biscuit company and well known media personality seems to be way out of Gina's league. Although Gina is part owner of a real estate agency, when she begins showing upscale rooftop flats to India, they begin a cute friendship and a very, very slow burn relationship to something more. Both women have been terribly burned by their exes and aren't quite sure about trying again. Due to her media presence, India has been out and proud for many years while Gina has had many obstacles with her family, especially her mother, accepting her choices that conflict with their cultural beliefs.
The secondary story of Eunice and H, finding love letters from decades ago, and actually hoping they will meet again after so many years was priceless. It makes me wonder how often this has happened in real life. What would Eunice and H think of a Pride Parade today? It's just "never too late" to find out.
So often I think of Clare as "queen of the rom-com," but in this book, she writes about very substantive issues with warmth and sensitivity. Of course she tossed in rainbow headgear! 😏
If you've read the other books in this series, you'll be reunited with some old friends, but if you haven't, this story stands well on its own. It's well-written and the characters are well developed and yummy. It's another great addition to the Clare Lydon collection that I highly recommend!
I think I’m in love with India Contelli. I think you might be too once you read this book.
Shamefully, I haven’t read all of Clare Lydon’s London series (an error I’m rapidly trying to rectify) but I’m pretty sure it’ll take a lot to dislodge this one from the top of my favourites list.
As pretty much goes without saying for Lydon’s work, the main characters are well fleshed out, charming and easy to fall for. The chemistry is great, it sizzles off the page and makes you grin.
I found India a little easier to relate to than Gina, but that’s probably because I never had the same kind of familial conflict as she does.
You’ll root for these two, and probably yell at the page when the inevitable conflict occurs (something I didn’t see coming, despite some foreshadowing throughout the book). Thankfully it’s not angst heavy and things are rectified quite swiftly, which you’ll appreciate because by the time you get to that part in the book, you’ll be concerned you might cry if these two don’t end up together!
I loved the book, grabbed my attention from the very first page and until the end. This is book 7 in the London Romance Series but can be read as a standalone.
State agent Gina Gupta loves her job, finding the perfect home for her clients is what brings her joy. She hasn’t been lucky in love, and she isn’t looking for love. Also, she still struggles with her family complications due to their cultural beliefs. But when she meets her new client India Contelli Business owner and famous TV star, their chemistry is instant and undeniable. They start a beautiful friendship, but since both are recovering from complicated ex’s, neither is looking beyond that. What happens when they have a quest to reunite two long lost lovers, and the heart rules the mind and determinations? Will they surrender or ignore what is probably their path to complete happiness?
I enjoyed the story very much; it is a beautiful love story. I liked very much several elements of the book, first that as a classic Clare Lydon it keeps that well-known humour, but this one also focuses in significant matters and is done in a very thoughtful way. Another thing I enjoyed is this one has more sizzling scenes, they go perfect with the story and are done with good taste, and they are also sweet and very well written.
The side story was a complete delight; the reunion of long lost lovers and the slogan “never too late” was inspirational. The message is clear, learning from experience, love is worth the risk every time, and when you find that person that rocks your world in the best way, go for it.
It’s impossible not to fall for the characters, they are very likeable, lovable and so down to earth. It was a real pleasure to witness and live with them their journey and their amazing chemistry.
One of the things I like the most is the happy feeling the book gave me. I felt powerful, blissful and wanting to shout from the rooftops.
I love every book of the London series, but this might be my favourite so far.
I received an ARC copy of the book and voluntarily leaving my review.
I loved this book! Initially it didn't zing as much as previous Lydon books. Plot lines as well as booby traps for the characters were being placed and I read at speed enjoying it but it wasn't a zinger, despite some typical Lydon laughs. ( Lydon's previous books have set a very high bar). Then about 35% in some of the plot hints came to fruition and the book zinged. No enemies to lovers trope, no fake romance just a straightforward love story. That's not a criticism, the opposite in fact, as it is quite unusual in a recent spate of releases. It also meant it felt a bit strange to me when the mains first were about to start acting on their personal and physical attraction as it had all gone well, they liked each other. However Lydon is a good writer and a bit of a tease! There was going to be bit more angst before resolution. Oh boy! I could see the angst coming like two cars on a collision course. Like a true rubber necker I could not look away! This book was fab. Run don't walk to buy it!
This is part of the London series, but you do not need to have read the other books as it is a stand alone story. India is a biscuit company owner and is looking for a new home. She meets estate agent Gina and they have an immediate connection. Business partners and ex’s get in the way of their romance. I really enjoyed this book; it’s very well written with good description on London sights that makes you want to go there. A lovely read, would highly recommend.
This is a very well written tale about finding love. The characters are well developed, and the storyline flows from the pages. If you are looking for a feel-good tale of lesbian love with a happily ever after, this book belongs on your must-read list.
I truly loved this story of Gina and India. They make such a sweet couple. Both were recently out of bad relationships. They had great chemistry, great love scenes and there is a great ending.
Hooked from the start, I read through the night hoping for a HEA. India Contelli and Gina Gupta sparkle as the main characters in Ms. Lydon's latest book. The former is a media personality and CEO of the family business Stable Foods and the latter is co-owner of Hot London Properties. With a nicely rounded secondary cast of dastardly exes Sara and Andi, a despicable partner in Bernie, family good naturedly interfering and descriptions of London mixed in, you know you're in for another treat of a read. The author weaves romance with laughter, gut wrenching duplicity, misunderstanding and sex into a nifty layered storyline which flows beautifully with side plots adding naturally to the overall story - throw in Pride Parade, Rainbow Ring Biscuits, two lovers reunited after 60 years and that's enough to satisfy anyone with a romantic heart. I easily recommend with 5 plus stars - Ms. Lydon never disappoints me!!
HEA, quick read (or listen) that I kind of wish wasn’t so brief. Gina and India are well written characters who you really root for, having initiated their relationship as friends. If you’re in your late 30s/early 40s like them, super relatable and therefore, they were all the more endearing to me. I appreciated the cultural diversity as well. Great weekend listen!

Summary: Gina Gupta is an estate agent (realtor) selling high-end properties, and wondering if she’ll ever find love again after coming out late in life and coming out of a breakup. India Contelli is half business mogul half TV celeb, also dealing with “ex” issues. The two meet when India walks into Gina’s business looking to buy a flat. They start out as friends and, of course, turn into something more. There are rooftops involved. There’s also a subplot involving a decades old queer romance and lost love … and I’m totally here for it. (But really, I’m here for it. Give me more of that story, Clare Lydon!)
Featured Tropes: Celebrity, Pride, friends to lovers, never too late
Book Strengths: Listen, I love Clare Lydon’s writing and I love the London Romance series. There was no way I wasn’t going to read this book. Hot London Nights delivers in all of the ways you want and expect Lydon to deliver – it has just the right of angst (well, just the right amount for me … i.e. not too much), it’s a feel-good story, and the writing keeps you turning the pages. It is well-written and you’ll be rooting for both India and Gina from page 1.
Book Weaknesses: Not a one.
Character Chemistry: Gina and India have great chemistry. You’ll root for them from start to finish and the love scenes don’t disappoint.
Heat Rating: 4 flames
Wrap up: Whether you’re already a London Romance follower or just looking for a great escapist read with relatable and lovable characters, Hot London Nights has something for you. It’s an excellent addition to the lovable London series, but would stand on its own just fine (no prior series knowledge needed).
Book 7 in The London Romance Series did not disappoint. I highly reccomend it whether you've read the prior installments or not!
Neither India (who we met in book 6), nor Gina is looking for love. Both of these 40ish women have been recently burned by love and just want to focus on their professional lives. When India's desire to buy a new flat causes her to work with Gina, a successful estate agent, an immediate friendship begins. Their slow burn is a delight to read. But what really put this one over the top for me was the secondary characters. Gina is from a very closeknit Indian family who's acceptance of her coming out runs the gamut of acceptance. Reading about her sister, her uncle, and even her more old fashioned parents gave me even better insight into Gina. Some familiar faces from previous books also pop up, along with some new friends who I hope feature in Book 8. Running in the background of all of this is London Pride. The theme is It's Never Too Late and India is very involved in trying to reunite a 78 year old woman, Eunice, with her long lost love. The sweet story of an old woman trying to decide if she wants to attempt to recconnect with her lost love after finally coming out in her late 70s is poignant and a lovely parallel to the main story.
The London series, book 7, tells the story of Gina, a London property seller and India, a biscuit company bigshot and TV celebrity. They end up together for business (India needs a home, Gina finds her one) but keep bumping into each other accidentally and later, on purpose.. and then what happens? We know what happens!
There are irritating exes and family conflict, there's a secondary, historical love story, Pride celebrations, chocolate biscuits and other goodies, plus houses, flats, and rooftops in London.
The main characters are believable and real, like in every Lydon novel this far - they have their ups and downs, successes and failures, and sometimes you feel like shouting at them not to be so pig-headed! I so felt for Gina - been there, done that, got the headache (ugh, mommy dearest).
In the end, we've met some old friends (from previous London books), held our breath for the reunion of the secondary pair and seen the protagonists happily together, as it should be.
Last but not least: when a book is sapphic, funny and at least 50% of it is a love letter to London, what's not to like? Personally, I think this might be the best of the series yet.
I've been absolutely loving the last few books from Clare Lydon and this one was no exception. I think it's because Lydon's books have such great characters - from our lovely main characters who are looking for love, but also the secondary characters who help build the story and the world it lives in. I 100% developed a full blown crush on both India and Gina, our mains in Hot London Nights. India is a business exec who dabbles in reality TV who has a heart of gold, whereas Gina is a second generation Indian lesbian with a bit of drama in her family and working life. These two together were perfect - it was like I was living the beginning stages of their relationship with them and I was completely invested. I should also note that I was completely enthralled by the drama surrounding these two with their ex's. Typically I shy away from lesbian drama but in this case I was more than happy to make an exception. A great novel worthy of a read if you are into lesfic!
Many thanks to Clare Lydon for a copy of an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m not generally a fan of long series books but I have really enjoyed all of the books in the London series and Hot London Nights is no exception. It follows the story of India Contelli and Gina Gupta and for those of you who have read the other books in the series a few old characters make cameo appearances. Although Hot London Nights is the seventh book in the series it is a stand alone book and can easily be read without having read any of the other books in the series. Whilst this is the story of India and Gina the other characters in the book add so much to the plot. The side Plot of Eunice and H is quite simply a lovely touch. Clare is without a doubt one of the masters of lesfic romance. Dare I say roll on book number eight!!
Another nice addition to the London Romance series. Falling in love with one's estate agent makes for a nice change from the many tried-and-true plot lines common in the genre. Getting to know one another while touring rooftops is also a fun twist.
There are a couple of ex-girlfriends to keep things from being too easy, though a very public proposal by one of them seems extreme. Fortunately the main characters are able to work through the drama without spending huge amounts of time refusing to communicate with each other.
A great supporting cast, including some familiar faces from earlier books, provides further insights into the main characters. The secondary characters also provide helpful nudges to the couple as required. A very good read with the expected HEA.
I am totally thrilled with this spicy, decidedly hot and thrilling romance!
Clare Lydon has produced a tantalizing love story filled with delightfully real characters, flaws showing and strength growing in them. I love the way Ms Lydon writes, enticing the reader to stay until the last word has been read and longing for more. She is deft at bringing the main characters to heated situations and conveying the desires of the characters with looks or touches, often no words could describe. It is a gift that makes me want to read everything she writes. I highly suggest you purchase all of her books and read them, laughing, crying and just feeling the love grow.
I think this is Lydon's best book so far! The storyline grabbed my attention from the start and was held throughout the book. Gina and India are great characters that drew me and I wondered what Ms Lydon had in store for them. I wanted to know how the relationships, friends and lives intertwined for Gina, India and their family and friends and didn't want to put the book down. Highly recommend this book , especially if you've read any of the London Nights Series. Enjoy.
I am reading this series in complete random order. No complaints, but I'm glad they can be read as stand-alones.
This is an easy favorite of the series! India and Gina have great chemistry. They both have awful exes, close families, and some mutual friends. Plus, there's a sweet little side story going on here - very romantic 🥰. I kinda enjoyed the pacing of it all...I mean before I knew it, it was ending! 😢
I was kindly giving an early copy of this book for a neutral review. I love this book, the characters as always with Claire Lydon are so well written. The story is about two successful business women who have everything but love. They both have bad ex stories and deserve to find happiness. It is a great story with a pride and London backdrop.
The London Series just keeps going along, weaving new characters into the growing group of friends. The nicest, most unexpected part was the reference to Abby and Jordan from "Before You Say I Do," my all-time favorite novel by Clare Lydon. What a great surprise!!!
The London series has been one of my favorites. This book did not disappoint. The story of India and Gina is another winner. Two women trying to be their authentic selves while trying to be rid of their selfish and delusional exes is a tale we should all appreciate. Now, where did I put that package of Rainbow Ring biscuits?
This was an okay read. It was instant-lovey, and India and Gina formed a strong connection from the get-go, which killed a little bit of tension for me. As i am a fan of build ups. The plot also wasn't really interesting to me at all. I wanted more interactions between the different characters, but there wasn't really any. The writing was okay. It was readable, nothing too profound. 3 stars
It is a charming and heartwarming sapphic romance. Passion, humor and emotional depth all found in this novel. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, making their journey from casual fling to something more profound both believable and compelling. Overall, it’s a delightful and steamy read.
