A collection of ficbits initially posted on Patreon, short tales of life after the happily ever after of the official stories. This volume contains shorts for:
Midsummer Baker With Pride The Bastard Prince Embrace Tournament of Losers Ink & Paper The Dragon's Tamer Making Dragon Stew The Selkie No One Wanted The King's Menagerie: Lynx Prisoner Wriggle & Sparkle
Megan is a long time resident of queer romance and keeps herself busy reading and writing it. She is often accused of fluff and nonsense. When she’s not involved in writing, she likes to cook, harass her wife and cats, or watch movies. She loves to hear from readers and can be found all over the internet.
Cute little extras from various stories. Some I remember well like Wriggle and Sparkle, King’s lynx and dragon stew. Others will need a re-read and a few I skipped because I haven’t read the main stories yet.
I think these are wonderful. Even though the stories end, there remains a curiosity about the characters and threads that may not have been tied up in the original story.
It’s also an opportunity to expand the view of the universe as sometimes other characters are introduced and take center stage.
I really, really wanted to like this collection, especially because there were stories from the first two volumes that I really enjoyed. However, I really didn't. Part of it is personal preference: I cannot personally get behind polyamory. To each their own, but it's not something I enjoy reading about in a romantic or sexual context. Secondly, I hadn't read most of the original stories that these epilogues were based on, so it was difficult to connect. I'll still read Megan Derr, but probably not another collection like this one.
I love the what comes after stories. I get to the end of a book and wonder why it did not continue on. This book does the job nicely. Keep up the great work Megan.
