Faced with overwhelming odds, this crafty Dungeon Core must use all of her knowledge to establish her dominion, not only over the nearby dungeons, but over her own sense of self.
The death of one of her Orcish mercenaries has sent Sandra into a spiral of rage and revenge, focusing on the four Dungeon Cores that attacked her. Unable to prevent herself from invading the rival dungeons with the misguided intent of destroying their Cores, the consequences of which would be devastating, the craft-loving former merchant struggles to regain control of her actions caused by the remnants of a Core shard invading her own mind.
Her friends, meanwhile, have their own problems. Violet, Felbar, Echo, and Gerold were sent back to their respective homelands to warn their leadership about the upcoming threat of enhanced Dungeon Cores, as well as obtaining help to contain them, but each representative has met with some hiccups along the way. Extricating themselves from their unexpected captivity becomes a priority, if only so that they can get back to the wasteland and Sandra’s dungeon. Unfortunately, events and threats back home require their attention before they can return.
Will her friends be able to break free from their chains of imprisonment in time to prevent the crafty Dungeon Core from making an irreversible mistake? Can Sandra overcome the incessant thoughts of retribution and regain control of her mind and actions?
2.5 Well that took quite some time to finish, mainly because the whole starting arc was a drag, it seemed extremely contrived with the only driving force 'because plot', later referred to as 'amazing coincidence'. Still once past that there were some fun bits and more crafting to be found, the ending was a bit of abrupt foreshadowing. All in all I've enjoyed this book much less than the rest of the series, seems like it was done with less dedication. I hope the next one is better.
Another good book in this dungeons or series.Love the crafter aspect. Was almost disappointed that there was not as much crafting but it seem to come on more in the middle. Hopefully we see more of it in the future though I understand there is battling involved. The bringing together of all the races is fun. Wonder where the humans are hiding. Will certainly enjoy watching the races learn how to work together and create parties to balance out there various strengths and weaknesses. Further gonna enjoy seeing how Sandra can help them do that with more of her toys. I found the last chapter to be slightly ominous and a bit cliche. Disappointed in that part but In the overall picture I guess You have to find more enemies to sleigh. Even though Sandra is not nearly finished with the group she has now . Open I'll have to wait long for the next book.
When I think back about what interested me in this story it has always been the main character. So when this book branches out and follows side characters it is interesting but it leave me wanting to simply read about the main character the main dungeon core. I understand it’s necessary to advance the story but it just doesn’t fit well with what we have been introduced to. Furthermore I would argue the same pattern of rescue someone of royalty sucks. It’s a little bit too coincidental as well. Overall the story is still good. You do get to the point where the side stories and the main character begins to advance and you see some plot twist at the end you did not expect. It is a good story it definitely leaves you wanting to get to the next book in the series but this book here is not the best in the series it deserves 3.5 stars.
Another good book in an overall good series. I've really enjoyed reading the first 5 books in this series and look forward to the final book in the series.
I recommend this series to anyone who likes LITRPG and Dungeon Core type books. The story is interesting, the character development is average, and writing is well above average for grammar and spelling. The books are clean with little to no swearing, no graphic sex, and no harems or politically correct rhetoric being crammed down your throat.
The books previous to this were interesting ok reads. This one not so much. The author loses track of his timeline flow and imposed event sequence while dropping in sub plots which exceed the time they would have taken to develop. The conclusion 'cliffhanger' also fails to take into consideration 600 plus years of dropped math.
This should probably be rewritten as the story is procedurally broken.
The penultimate entry in the series is mostly about fixing early mistakes, people making more mistakes, and a frankly weird twist that comes out of nowhere, although it is entirely consistent with the setting's rules. It leaves the impression that the author had no real idea how to successfully conclude the story until the last moment.
Also, for a series nominally about crafting, there is still abysmally little actual crafting.
Sandra has her hands full. Four dungeons are attacking, her friends are missing, and her mind just isn’t her own. She continues to experience growth and discovers a way to save everyone. Setting up for the next book. It was an enjoyable read and added well to the story. Not a stand alone. I look forward to the next book.
We spend a little more time than I liked with the ‘crazy’ shard in control that caused what seemed like fabricated tension. However there is a payoff in the end that ties it together with the overall story. All in all it’s a good entry in the series and could probably have served as the final book but it looks like there is one more coming. Good stuff.
This was the best book so far in this series. The plot was moving forward in a understandable direction where as I felt the plot was a bit meandering in the last 2 books. The focus on crafting was also back which I really enjoyed.
Great series interesting twists as Sandra the Dungeon turns to crafting not fighting. Aggression and hate by all races against her and all others races. Sandra adapts and crafts new objects to help the few that learn to trust not hate Onto all out war between dungeons as some few start to work together for equality, friendship and trust.
Initially, the premise of the series didn't entice me. But, I was immediately snagged by the characters. I'm impressed now. In this penultimate book, I'm anxious to see how it will end. Should be interesting.
This book was a nice little break from reality. I enjoyed reading about Sandra, and how she overcomes her struggles through crafting. If I had any critique it works be that there should've been more crafting in the book. I look forward to the next in the series
The Crafting Dungeon Finally Gets Some Cooperation.
Sandra sent envoys to the leadership of of the Elves, the Dwarves, and the Gnomes in a previous novel, number three I think, and in this novel the travails of those envoys are related. The results of the envoys' missions are also revealed as Sandra faces off against four other Dungeons.

More advancement, more knowledge acquired, more allies. So it's about the same as the other stories. Still, the characters are interesting and likable.
