Todo se complica más aún cuando se entera de que su jefe es en realidad su gran amor de la adolescencia, Masamune Saga, el cual le confieza que nunca pudo olvidarlo y culpa a Ritsu de no haber podido entablar jamás una relación debido a esa experiencia. Ritsu le dice que no es así, que está confundido, pero Masamune sólo tiene una idea en mente: que Ritsu le diga “te quiero“.

Shungiku Nakamura (中村春菊 Nakamura Shungiku?, born December 13,1980) is a Japanese yaoi manga artist. She is most famous for creating Junjo Romantica: Pure Romance. Shungiku Nakamura's distinct style of manga has been identified largely throughout Japanese and English yaoi fanbases. Her works usually include large age gaps between the seme and uke and characters with careers in the publishing industry (as depicted in Junjo Romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi). She often cowrites with Fujisaki Miyako, who authored the novels of Yoshino Chiaki no baai in Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi.

Lovely. But I didn't really care for Onodera's story. I mean in the whole series he's my least favourite. However it's still Onodera that got into this genre and series, but the one that made me star, is the second half of this volume, Kisa.
Kisa is my manga proxy. I was watching the anime of this last year when I met him,
Kisa is 30. I was 30. Both confident in their sexuality, falling in love for the first time notwithstanding a number of physical interactions prior. Just as insecure in romance as me, but unlike me, and as Kisa says, this shit only ever happens in manga, and I was left broken-hearted with just a friend.
It's fine. Kisa's story is adorable and I absolutely love him. I want to see the rest of the series just for him, and Hatori (who doesn't appear in this volume).
Anyway. As well, the drawing style isn't perfect, at least in the first half. I maybe just got used to it by Kisa time.

As an added bonus - furigana throughout. Nearly all but the simplest kanji. Makes it a hell of a lot easier to read.

Takano y Onodera siguen en los enredos de siempre. Aunque para Onodera la situación es todavía más estresante dado los comentarios de Yokozawa.

Lo más interesante de este tomo han sido Yukina y Kisa, me gusta que este último tenga otra preocupación además del romance. Creo que uno puede empatizar especialmente con ciertas facetas del personaje, por ejemplo, cuando Kisa siente que se esfuerza mucho en el trabajo (que es bastante demandante) pero pese a ello todavía no obtiene los logros a los que aspira.

Ha pasado un año aproximadamente y estoy releyendo esta historia en inglés.(Lo cual es un gran desafío para mi 💪🏼)
Tiene sus red flags, pero está entretenida y ya quiero saber como sigue después del anime.

Este tomo me ha enganchado mucho más que los anteriores! Ya solo me queda el número 4, es una lástima, por fin estaba entrando en el mood :'(
Takano y Onodera siguen muy aferrados al pasado, incluso en "la escena" Ritsu lo llega a llamar senpai. (No me acordaba que todo esto pasaba con Onodera borracho 🙉).
Lo que más me encantó de este tomo fue la historia de Yukina y Kisa.
Estoy pensando seriamente en adquirir la edición en inglés, necesito seguir avanzando con esta historia!

Onodera worries a lot about deadlines and isn't taken seriously in his new supervisory role. Does that sound interesting? Well, it was more interesting than his repetitive non-affair whatever with his boss.

The second half is a barely related story of one of the other editors, Kisa, and his interest in an employee at the bookstore. Since he only cares about appearance and has one-night stands and his interior monologue is all self-pity I found this story not interesting and hope it doesn't become a long term side-arc.

This volume convinced me to stick to the series. Before I was interested, now I am intrigued. Thanks to this volume which so far is my favorite, but mostly thanks to the second couple we got out of this that STOLE the show and my heart. I am hooked. I'm excited to see where this series will go

Y...esperaba mas. Esta bien, pero no me genero mucho como en los otros dos tomos que fangirleaba como loca. Capáz será porque se agrego la nueva pareja a la historia y yo queria saber mucho mas de Takano y Onodera.
Mucho mas no puedo decir porque mucho no avanzó la historia , pero si que esperaba mas jaja.
No fue un buen comienzo pero obvio va a mejorar jaja

The second half of the book follows the story of a different editor working at the publishing house and also mooning over someone else, this time a book store clerk.

Story: Onodera is becoming frustrated with being the newbie that everyone takes advantage of - from artists not getting their drafts in on time to publishing houses moving up deadlines. With Takano's help, however, Onodera's author is published and a celebration is order. But Onodera worked so late, that he'll have to settle for beer at Takano's - and perhaps that isn't the best idea after all? The second half of the volume follows 30 year old editor Shota Kisa - and his frustration with dating. He likes pretty faces but never wants to commit - until he meets a very handsome shoujo manga store clerk who has a great love for all the manga Shota edits. Can Shota be convinced to settle down?

The first half was mostly Onodera becoming frustrated with the job. That and becoming jealous at all the indications that Takano and Yokozawa are a thing. Takano tries to set him straight - but far too much beer has left Onodera with little memory of the conversation or what happened after, of course.

The Shota and Kisa story is sweet and a bit different in that Shota is a young looking 30 year old and his love interest an older looking 21 year old. One is eager and one is down on himself - but together they work it out, of course.

I'm not sure how all the publishing industry stuff is interesting - and Nakamura may be running out of circumstances, misunderstandings, and protestations soon. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Kisa Shouta's story is introduced to us in volume 3 of the manga series. Kisa Shouta is a fellow girl's manga editor of Emerald girl's manga department. Despite the fact that his job is heavily romance-related and he had his shares of playing with other guys, still in his 30 years of life he had never known what real love is, until Shouta meets shopkeeper Yukina Kou, who worked in a bookstore where all of the girl's mangas Shouta is in charge of, enjoy a particularly high sale rates. Somehow the extraordinary sale rates have something to do with the handsome Yukina?

The Yukina/Shouta story is filled with even more outrageous girl's manga cliches (Love at first sight, anyone?), without being too heavy on the cheesy side. Although Yukina is a bit of a 'too good to be true' character, but Shouta's down to earth, somewhat insecure personality helps to balance things out. I also like that the pair becomes fond of each other for more than just face value as their relationship develops.

While I'm still not thrilled with the non-consensual elements or the art, this was still a good book, mostly because of the two-chapter side story about a different co-worker and his romance with a bookstore clerk. This story is much more mutual and generally sweeter, although it still has its issues with anatomy.

I can't help but be struck by the fact that apparently all of the men who work in the shoujo manga department of the (fictional) publisher are gay. On the one hand, it makes a certain degree of sense, but shouldn't there be some women working there? And isn't it a bit of an uncomfortable stereotype that gay men would all be drawn to girls' manga?

Perhaps I'm thinking too hard.

I'm going to keep reading this series but I was disappointed in it. Things got uncomfortably noncon when Ritsu is too drunk to consent to sex.... I'm still going to stick with it and I really liked the side story with the other coworker falling in love, but I hope that blackout drunk sex isn't going to be the norm with this series.

Ugh. This volume ends at 251 days until Ritsu Onodera falls in love with Masamune Takano. Volume 2 ended at 270, meaning not even a month goes by in this volume. Which means I doubt I'm sticking around for the end, however many more books it takes to get there.

​​The art continues to be raw and jagged, annoyingly so, but still effective in visually telling the story.

​​Half on this volume is taken up by a new “Case,” specifically, the case of Shota Kisa. Unlike Onodera, Kisa (who works in Onodera’s department) is clear that he’s attracted to men and self identifies as gay. But his blind spot, i. e. the trope or crutch used to make the story go, is that he believes he's incapable of genuine love - even as he meets this wonderful, younger guy, Kou Yukina, who is not only attracted to him, but is both a fan and is really good at selling the books Kisa edits.

​​I'm tempted to write off both Onodera and Kisa at this point as simply ciphers used to portray stereotyped female insecurity. I'll buy the next 2 volumes, though, to see where this goes. First, because I'm not totally convinced that the ukes are in this story merely as containers expressing said insecurities. Onodera and Kisa each have their own kinds of self-delusion, and it might be interesting to see how their psychologies contrast and compare. Secondly, because the author made a good move by introducing the new characters (Kisa and Yukina) when she did. She's obviously aware of the lifespan issues embedded in the Onodera/Takano storyline, so I'm interested to see what she does to rectify the situation.

Poor Onodera. He is falling in love with Takano whether he wants to or not... and now he has to deal with Yokozawa. I understand wanting to protect your friend from possibly getting hurt again but he just takes things too far. How is he gonna tell him he needs to move out of his apartment just because it's next to Takano's?! Ugh!! I can't stand him!

We also begin the story of Shota Kisa and Kou Yukina. Yukina works at a bookstore called Marimo Books and Kisa, one of the editors that work with Onodera, stops by to look at his face every day after work (...yes, he admits to only being into guys for their looks). After circumstances cause them to actually start talking to one another Kisa starts having a hard time figuring out how he actually feels about Yukina. He's never been in love before so he doesn't understand why everything feels so different with him.

I enjoyed all of the stories, though being in Kisa's head for two of them was a little sad. It was definitely time for him to meet someone who could bring him a little happiness. I couldn't believe he was actually 30 years old; he didn't look it at all. He and older looking Yukina (who's actually only 21) make a very cute couple.

2.5 stars for Onodera and Takano. Onodera and Takano are one big walking miscommunication trope. At least they’re both adults, for all they don’t act like it.

4 stars for Kisa and Yukina. I love that Kisa is actually queer. So many of these books are “straight” people who find the love of their life in someone of the same sex. Which isn’t a particularly straight thing to do. So it’s refreshing that Kisa owns his queerness and sexuality. All of the bisexuals in here aren’t allowed to do the same. It’s sad.

I also like that Kisa seems like a person more than I expected. He’s gay, cis, male, short, “old” (30), kind of quiet and kind of cranky. Yukina seems like a big sweetheart. He’s 21, bi (although of course no one calls it that), and an art student in college. The two of them have a grumpy/sunshine thing going on and it’s pretty cute.

Kiss and Yukina were also refreshing because they actually both agreed to have sex and clearly both enjoyed it. You know, how sex is supposed to be.

Continuano le disavventure lavorative di Ritsu Onodera e il non voler ammettere i sentimenti che prova per il suo capo, Takano. Dubbi e paure che non vengono a meno, anzi... La storia della serie procede per una breve parte in maniera classica per poi dedicare buona parte del volume ad un altro editor di Marukawa Emerald, ossia Shota Kisa che ha una cotta per il commesso di una libreria. Però ha paura di avvicinarsi a lui ma allo stesso tempo, quando riuscirà a parlarci, troverà il modo di migliorare anche nel suo lavoro. Ho adorato questa storia, mi piace molto come il commesso, Yukina, ha un carattere solare e praticamente opposto a Shota e quindi è bello vederli interagire. Inoltre nonostante l’iniziale freschezza della storia in seguito affronta temi più seri, vediamo Shota alle prese con un ex con cui aveva solo rapporti sessuali e che non lo lascia in pace e poi il capire i propri sentimenti, accettarli e impegnarsi per concretizzare un eventuale vera relazione.

Oh my gosh. This is hands down my favorite volume of this manga I've read so far it was precious.

I'm already head over heels for Onodera and Takano's storyline, so I obviously loved that part.

But I was upset at first when I realized that a good half of this book is not about them and follows completely different characters.

That hesitancy quickly went away though when realized just how much I freaked loved these characters and this storyline. Like a cheery guy who adores manga and works in a bookstore, falling in love with the pessimistic editor who makes his favorite manga?! I fucking loved this so much it was ridiculous.

Overall:
I am so glad that I have the next two volumes of this.

CW: r*pe/general non-con

This volume was not any different from the previous as far as content. But I just was not in the right mindset as far as being able to handle it or just shrug it off. Actually the only reason I finished this volume instead of setting it aside until I was more comfortable was because I was using it to complete the Asian Readathon challenges to read a graphic novel feat. an Asian character/written by an Asian author and to read a translated work.

The back half, following another character and his shojo-esque romance with a bookseller, was far more palatable and fun to read, though I did struggle with how similar all of the characters in this series look the exact same as each other, making it difficult to tell who was who.

This series is just getting better and better! This volume is where a second storyline of Shota Kisa and Yukina is introduced. Both storylines make me want to read the rest of the series asap! Ritsu/Masamune's storyline keeps you wanting more because you want to see if they can overcome their past and misunderstandings and be together. With Shota/Yukina, it's a case of unrequited love and the readers and Shota hoping that it would become something more but is really pessimistic about it which I really related to. I felt like Shota was basically me in a manga.

I love this series and I can't wait to continue onwards!

En serio esta historia tiene algo que no deja tranquilo y quieres terminar como sea. Con respecto a Ritsu me encanta cuando se pone nervioso y no quiere admitir sus sentimientos, incluso es un poco triste que no recuerde que paso la noche anterior. En cuanto a Shouta, ¿Qué puedo decir de él?. Sin duda es un encanto. Alguien que esta aprendiendo lo que es enamorarse, vale un millón. Recuerdo el instrumental que apareció cuando hablan Shouta y Kou, da escalofríos de lo perfecto que fue la escena.

Onodera y Takano: CÓMO ES POSIBLE QUE EN EL MOMENTO DONDE MÁS HABLAN ESTOS DOS, ES CUANDO UNO DE ELLOS ES PROPENSO A PEEDER LA MEMORIA?

Dios sabe que odio el trope de amnesia, no puede ser que Onodera al fin es honesto y lo olvida todo por estar borracho 😭

Yukina y Kisa: Uno tiene 30, el otro tiene 21. No tengo más que decir. Eso era all too well de Taylor Swift.

Son la razón de que este volumen tenga 4 estrellas, y lo peor es que su historia dura dos capítulos, o sea, un capitulo más que el de Onodera y Takano. Pecado.

¿Qué puedo decir?
Esta no es la primera vez que me leo este manga (ya lo había leído online), para mí lo considero en conjunto con Junjou Romántica, los originales y primeros grandes BL, y siempre he tenido una inclinación hacia Sekaichii. Mi pareja favorita es la que se desarrolla en este tomo por primera vez: Kisa y Yukina. Divinos!!!
Ojalá IVREA siga trayendo estos tomos al español, que según entiendo este el último tomo que han traído, lo que me parece extraño, ya que de Junjou Romántica si van más de diez tomos traídos...

This is my favorite volume so far because Kisa and Yukina are my favorite couple in this series. Kisa can be a little frustrating at times because he’s so insecure about everything but even that’s interesting because he seems really chill and happy when the POV isn’t on him. And of course Yukina is a good foil because he’s almost obnoxiously confident about himself while still being genuinely happy and friendly. They’re just cute. The next time they show up is a little more annoying but this first little story with them is great.
