A powerful read reminding you that you can't achieve your dreams with your hands in your pockets. You have to make the effort to transform your life if you want to see change occur.

I rarely write reviews, but this book really resonated with me as Cady has so much insight about human behavior and the concrete steps we can take to improve our wellbeing.

One example that comes to mind is that I always hated the phrase, “pick your brain,” but I couldn’t put my finger on why. Cady helped me understand that when people ask that, they tend to want to take shortcuts and gain another’s hard earned wisdom. People are much more likely to share their knowledge of the seeker is coming to the conversation with genuine curiosity after doing his/her homework!

I read this book during a time of transition with work. I was so burned out from work and decided to make a change. This book really validated my feelings and made me feel confident in my decision. I listed to the audiobook but I plan to buy a hard copy so I can easily refer to the questions at the end of each chapter. I would highly recommend this to many other women.

Taking a sabbatical, changing careers, starting a business and retiring early are fantasies for everyone. But, only one person can turn your fantasy into reality and that is you. Starting from your childhood experiences and continuing to your present situation, Cady offers practices, techniques, reflections and inspiring stories that will help you take the hardest step of all - the first one on your journey. Well-written, well-researched and highly recommended!

This book hit home for me -- as someone with big dreams who often puts them aside and says "maybe one day," it really felt like Cady was speaking directly to me. This is the motivator we all need, but it goes beyond simply inspiring. It also dives in how to set yourself up for success and make sure everything in your life aligns. A must-read.

As a young adult woman just starting my own career, I found this book inspiring and so incredibly helpful. The lessons Cady outlines are not only relatable to me now, but will continue to be relatable to me as I progress in my career and in my life in general. Her writing struck me on a personal level... I would recommend this book to anyone!

Cady marvelously draws readers in, bringing to light the adversities we have each overcome and can overcome in our futures. We have so much to learn about success, happiness and adversity, and this book does an outstanding job of making us lean into those stories which we tell ourselves, and creating new ones from our old paths.

Once I started this book I simply could not set it down. Cady is raw and authentic when she shares her story. The way she explores trauma and how it affects both our personal and professional lives is eye-opening. As an ambitious college student and young professional, I was able to gain a lot of insight from this book. I recommend anyone no matter where you are in your career to check it out!

I expected this book to be more focused on the financial aspects when it comes to achieving your dreams. Instead, the book mainly focuses on healing from your trauma (which isn't bad, just unexpected). I thought the questions at the end of each chapter was cool, and helped retain the ideas presented in the book.
