When only an Indecent Duke Will Do How to Catch an Elusive Earl Where to Woo a Bawdy Baron Why a Marauding Marquess is Best What a Vulgar Viscount Needs Who Wants a Brawling Baron When to Dare a Dishonorable Duke
This is a whole series of seven books about rakes who were on their way to a party full of debauchery but when a storm washes out a bridge, they are offered a cottage to stay by a merchant who has 5 daughters. I had read the first 2 but I was happy to read the rest when this was on sale. I enjoyed this series and would recommend it to everyone.
Some of the titles of these stories didn't fit the H. 1. WHEN ONLY AN INDECENT DUKE WILL DO: 4.25 STARS
I must admit I did enjoy the strengths of the H/h. The h held out in the temptation the H presented and I so appreciated how she was strong and chastised him for leading her down the path of ruin.
I admired her strength/spirit and how she put the H in his place. She protected her sister's and wasn't afraid to speak her mind no matter what your rank. I liked she wasn't like all the other h in stories and succumbed to an H. The H is a rake of the first order, and his reputation with women is like a notch on the bedpost.
The author has set up an interesting relationship with the sister's and the father is loving and caring.
There is lovemaking etc., prior to marriage, heat level 3.75 out of 5. I did like that the h brought up fidelity with the H knowing his past. I always admire an h who does this.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance is quick and some spice. At the beginning of this story the h states she has 5 sister's, when she only has 4. I kept waiting for another sister to pop up - lol.
2. HOW TO CATCH AN ELUSIVE EARL - 4.25 STARS
The h is the youngest of 5 sisters and the most level headed when it comes to Rakes. At least that is what we are told in a few pages. But, she succumbs quickly to one of the Rakes visiting her town. I was disappointed because I loved the banter between the two and then it stopped. We were treated with honest dialogue with each other.
Actual act of lovemaking no, but everything else - heat level 4.25 out of 5.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, some romance and steam.
3. WHERE TO WOO A BAWDY BARON-5 STARS
This has been my favorite so far of the series. There was more excitement, action and suspense that the other two didn’t have.
Both the H/h have been teased one as a child and the other as an adult. I liked the h more in this one because she wasn’t going to give herself to the H until he promised marriage. She held out longer than the h’s in the first two stories did -lol. But, as the H explains his childhood she becomes tender hearted and allows liberties.
The H defends her several times against bullies and he comes to realize how much she means to him. The h’s father is a kind and sweet man who doesn’t have a clue that his daughter’s are making love practically under his nose.
There is lovemaking outside of marriage. Heat level 4 out of 5.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and spice.
4. WHY A MARAUDING MARQUESS IS BEST - 4.5 STARS
I didn't care for Juliet in the previous stories, but she had a kindness and caring in her story. The H was another one who didn't believe in love because he'd been burnt before. I enjoyed how he was doubtful how his cousin and the rest of the rakes were becoming husbands in less than a week. To see how everyone won him over was like watching a play unfold.
There is lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 4 out of 5. This couple click for me so it was filled with passion. There is some misunderstandings but thankfully don't last long.
No suspense in this one, just a story of love hitting those not expecting it. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and some steam.
5. WHAT A VULGAR VISCOUNT NEEDS - 4 STARS
The h (sister) in this story really wasn't a major player in the other 4 stories. We got more of a glimpse of her in Why A Marauding Marquess is Best. She is talented and has no desire to marry. Of course the most vocal of the friends is the H in this story how he will never marry. Of course, this all changes. The h's father had a major part in the turn around of the H's thinking. It was touching how the story unfolded and how he learned to trust the h with his secret.
Lovemaking, outside of marriage, heat level 5 out of 5.
No suspense, no drama, honest dialogue, HEA, some romance and steam.
6. WHO WANTS A BRAWLING BARON -3.5 STARS
This is book 6 of the series and though I enjoy having the rest of the families stories told. But it is becoming more of a cookie cutter with just names changing.
Only a little suspense near the very end. Lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 5 out of 5.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, little on romance and steam.
7. WHEN TO DARE A DISHONORABLE DUKE - 3.5 STARS
This one was somewhat different than the previous 6 which started to feel repetitive in theme. There was to be this big party and the male guests thought it was to be a party with women and booze. But, the host was trying to find a husband for his childhood friend. The host leaves to find out why his 5 friends hadn't shown up. Only one guest showed and he was alone with the host childhood friend. He doesn't want to marry her but wants her for his mistress.
The h has to marry since her deceased husband didn't provide for her. It is cat and mouse between the h/H. The H gets upset over something so simple that it didn't make sense. The h tried to explain what her reasonings were and it didn't help. I did feel sorry for the h and wanted her to run far away from the H.
There is lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 4 out of 5. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, no romance and steam. We do get an epilogue 1 year in the future, with some of the couples coming to a party and we hear about their lives. In book 1 and 6 of the series, the women thought they were pregnant, but after a year no mention of children, only the h from book 1 is now pregnant. That's the problem with reading books back to back in a bundle, you are more apt to remember those details - lol. (ljb)
Raithe has a plan to marry off his friend. He has loved and lost so to avoid the pain he has taken up a life of pleasure with no ties. One woman tempts him, one dance and he knows he can never allow her close. Until, he goes to hunt down the wayward suitors who never showed up for his "party of debauchery". He finds Charlie staying with her brother's wife's family along with his now engaged prey. He has a problem he needs Charlie's help with and she decides to make a deal with him. These two have both lost so much and don't know how to fill the gaping hole in their hearts. Maybe they can fill it with each other.
When Only An Indecent Duke Will Do
A great start to a new series. Its not what you expect when you start the book, its so much more. I love a quick, charming truly romantic read and this fit the bill. Chase isn't expecting anything lasting, just a quick flirtation, but Ophelia is looking for her happily ever after. Lucky for her, Chase doesn't really know his own mind or is it just that he can't get Ophelia off his mind...
How To Catch An Elusive Earl
Seabreeze Gate is the charming home of the Honorable Thomas Moorish and his five lovely daughters. Quite by accident, some of the worst rogues of London end up in this quaint town. Adriana's sister has snagged one of these rogues, the Duke of Rathmore. The Duke has instructed Adriana to protect her sisters from the charming Luke Marks because she may be the youngest but she is the one least likely to be taken advantage of. Unfortunately, the Earl of Crestwood, Luke, is drawn to Adriana's strength and even thought his heart has been broken before, he can't stay away from her.
Where To Woo A Bawdy Baron
Bubbling, Babbling, Boring!! The teasing has been a part of Bianca's life but Lord Craven only sees Bianca as Beautiful. Along with innocent and that is a place Chris does not go. They find something in each other that has always been missing. This is my favorite of the series so far. These two touch your heart. "Does marrying you mean I'll have to act out a Shakespeare play?" Yes, yes it does.
Why A Marauding Marquess Is Best
Dane Summerset is on a mission to save his cousin like he has before. He feels like it's his responsibility to protect him and his sister. "Love is an illusion." Love is what Juliet wants. "Love is not ridiculous. Love is beautiful and wonderful." Juliet takes it upon herself to prove love is real, even if it happens in a week.
What A Vulgar Viscount Needs
Lord Dashlane, Ash, is the last man standing. Will Cordelia be his downfall? Miss Cordelia Moorish wants nothing more in life than her music until she doesn't. Both Cordelia and her father find something that has been missing in Ash. Ash has secrets that he can not share. Is there any hope? Can Ash find peace, love and a home? As always, well written and so romantic.
When To Dare A Dishonorable Duke
A beautiful story of two hearts finding their place. Damian, the Duke of Danesbury, loved wrong and now he bears the scars both internally and externally. He finally thinks he is ready to live again. Cassandra Winterset has always been good so she made the choice to marry one of her best friends to take care of him. She only knows how to give and now she is a widow alone but for her one friend Raithe. Raithe had a plan but Damian was the wild card, he wasn't part of the plan. Can they find the strength to move on from their pain with each other?
I have read the seven books in this series, all of them highly entertaining, witty, and romantic. The Baron of Balstead organises a house party with hand-selected guests for a specific purpose. However, a massive storm that takes out a bridge, thwarts his plans, sending all but one of the men to Seabridge Gate instead, where they encounter the Moorish family. There they encounter the kindly Mr Moorish and his five delightful daughters, each with their own quirks, but all of them strongly loyal and protective of one another. The novellas are well written and keep the reader coming back for more as one by one the men succumb and find their happiness. Each romance is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion.
Why do authors think a good story plot has to have explicit sex scenes. I don’t think they realize some readers don’t want that, especially ion first meeting of the heroine. Sorry. No thank you. I did not even read the rest of the series and only read up through a third of the book. Having to skip the “shades of gray” scenes.
#1 When only an indecent Duke will do: Brought up on romance and fairy tales, leading a sheltered country life, it's understandable that a love match would be the only thing this young lady would want. Even the attention of a handsome young Duke wasn't enough to seduce her from her dreams. He was going to have to work for it, especially if he wanted her for his bride.
#2 How to catch an Elusive Earl:
She was the youngest but the feistiest of the sisters, so she took her role as the guardian of their virtue seriously. So knocking heads with a rake, ensuring he didn't enamour himself with any of her sisters, was a job she relished. However, the one thing she hadn't counted on was that he was broken and needed someone to help mend him. Her tender heart would not allow him to be left hurting, the way he was.
#3 Where to Woo a Bawdy Baron
He had his reasons for being quiet, dark, and brooding. She had her reasons for feeling inadequate and clumsy. Together, they filled the other's gaps, allowing each to be a better person by having more confidence in themselves, thanks to the other's encouragement.
#4 Why a Marauding Marquess is Best
He'd been burnt before by the emotions of being in love. He wouldn't get caught again. Well, that was until a certain red-haired minx stood up to him when he had just arrived to find out how his cousin had been conned into marriage. He soon learned that there really wasn't a slow track to falling in love.
#5 What a Vulgar Viscount needs.
His history wasn't what you would expect of a Viscount, so his loathing to carry on the line for the title would have made sense if anyone had known his origins. So he didn't want to marry to spawn further lords, and she didn't want to marry, as no husband would grant her the freedom to carry on composing, which was her gift and talent. However, to marry, and have no intimacy, neither of them could reconcile that with their true feelings.
#6 Who Wants a Brawling Baron
He was the worst of the bunch, but as each of them, he had fallen into his incestuous ways, due to his past emotional history. Now, the woman that had been filling his night time dreams was before him, and he tried hard to be strong.
#7 When to Dare a Dishonourable Duke
She had no choice but to seek marriage again. Having her first husband die, when she was only 22, and without home or money left to her, she really only had the one choice, morally. Although the Duke's offer was tempting, it wasn't who she was. Her upbringing defined that she wouldn't find it acceptable, regardless of how tempting he made it.
This is my review for When Only an Indecent Duke Will Do: I guess the prospect of landing and wedding an Indecent Duke was the ultimate achievement for a young lady in those days and why not! One might as well reach for the stars! This is such a delightful story and at times I wasn't sure who was doing the woo'ing, Ophilia or Chase, but she cleverly reels him in with her romance stories and he would just love to bed her. There is such a lovely ending to this tale of love. Fabulous main characters and 5 interesting daughters to the Hon. Thomas Moorish, each with their own little quirks and special personalities. I really enjoyed reading this story and yes, I do recommend it for it's lightness, fun and enjoyment that it gave me.
There is nothing to be afraid when you meet a rake. Just be yourself, caring, and giving your love without restrains. Unselfish love will take care of oll the physical or heart aches. Nothing or no one could have prepared these rakish lords for what an invitation to a party, from the worst of them, will start. One by one, they fell in love and nothing but marrying their chosen ladies will satisfy their hunger. Sweet and hot romantic tales at its best.
I really enjoyed the stories of the rakes and the 5 sisters and the other two women. They were just the right length with the right amount of heat and how among the English aristocracy they did marry for love. I read one book and then started on another. They were intertwined. It would have been nice to have an extended epilogue to know what happened to all of them. A good read and I do recommend this author, Tammy.
Enjoyed guidebooks however there are a few continuity issues . Especially when you come to epilogue. At end of a few of the books it was intimated a few of the ladies are with child in their own books . However at end of last books epilogue it says only one more baby was there and it was not one of those who it was indicated such on those own books. I expected least 4 babies toddlers at Christmas get together

I have read & reviewed every book in this series & gave 5 Star review to each of them (you can see my review of each book under the individual title). Every book had a fun story with wonderful H & h, humor galore & a little spice to heat things up! I highly recommend the entire series - it really is a great set!
This was such a fun series! I enjoyed the characters - the ladies are not cardboard cutouts, but individually sweet and admirable; the gentlemen surprised themselves with their gentlemaness. To think this all started with a dastardly plan that was interrupted by a storm and a swept-away bridge. Which fairy godmother do we thank for the storm and the bridge?
Tammy Andresen is one off my favourite authors, her writing style as well as her stories appeal to me and I was not disappointed in this box set. Each story had its own background building up to their love story, I enjoyed every book in this steamy regency romance box set. A definitely recommendation.
I enjoyed the interconnectedness of these books, each can be read as a stand alone with a HEA ending. The story of each couple comprises a book. I found the separating of each couple and exploring of their stories to answer many questions about each. Many of the characters in the other books are also met in the books of the couple being featured.
This was actually a generous boxset from bookbub. As I commented on each book as I read them, I will simply say here that it was a set of stories centered around a family with several daughters, which then expanded a bit to include cousins and friends. They live in the country, and each sister meets and tames her rake. Light and entertaining.
This started out as 1 book and ended up 7 more enjoyable books. Each book is a rather risque look into what really happens in the Regency Era. All that you hear about how rigid they were, well they weren't really like that and these stories really get to the point. The people were just as risky as they are now.
When unmarried sister meet unmarried takes the sparks fly. Never mind that the men were on th way to what is supposed to be a wild party. Fate intervenes, and matches are made. For adults only, as they get up to frisky activities.
1. When only an Indecent Duke Will Do 2. How to Catch an Elusive Earl 3. Where to Woo a Bawdy Baron 4. Why a Marauding Marquess is Best 5. What a Vulgar Viscount Needs 6. Who Wants a Brawling Baron 7. When to Dare a Dishonorable Duke
Loved every single book, rakes who are determined never to lose their hearts or marry come to a small town and as if by magic each one loses his heart and soul to a lady.
I love books where it is the story of five sisters and friends that are rakes headed to a debacle party, but storm washes out bridge! Meet five sisters and fun begins! You will enjoy, but does have some spice!
I read through these short stories one after another , I enjoyed the characters and the and they were fun reads , predictable but who doesn’t like a bit of naughtiness and happy endings 🙂👍
It is very difficult to put this set of books down. From the first to the last the stories were entertaining and fun to read. All the characters were great. It makes you want to move to the town a s have such great neighbors
This is a delightful series of romantic stories. But above and beyond that the whole plot was absolutely compelling. I will greatly miss the characters. I had even hoped for a happy ever after for the father too:)
Family love can change heard men.The story of soul searching females with a quest for love. The skills shot guns, jump of cliffs, ride wild horses and swim in oceanz
I lived these stories. They were sweet with just the right amount of spice. And while most of them were similar they featured couples different enough that each story felt new and gave us wonderful peaks into the other couples .
This is a collection of seven books, and I loved each one of them. I binged read all of these books this past weekend and it was great, because the stories connected. I have to say I want to be a part of the Moorish family.
