We build off of the prior volume with some prison antics, before returning to the formula of monster-of-the-week. Fortunately these seem to be building to something- whether it's one of Hime's siblings or another threat is unclear. The rest of the volume is pretty standard fair, but there are plenty of good moments. The clone chapter reminded me a lot of one of my favourite Marvel issues, Fantastic Four #51 (This Man... This Monster!). I also liked all the Riza/Reiri moments, like how Riza fought another vampire and drew similarities from her prior battles with Reiri or when Riza and Reiri had to team up for an action scene in the final chapter of the volume. Really, I could complain about a lot of things in this series but my biggest complaint is that Riza and Reiri haven't kissed yet. They're a good couple!

The quirky Manga saga continues with a prison drama, an Invasion of doppelgangers and a rampant truck.

This series is almost infuriating! Just like the five previous volumes, I was not impressed with volume six. I really don’t care for any of the characters, and I don’t really care about the plot. The art isn’t bad but there’s only so far it can take a story when the writing and plot isn’t there. Princess Resurrection has so much potential, it has some interesting monsters and theme but they aren’t explored at all! Where’s the depth? And when things do look promising and you start getting into it, the end is abrupt and unsatisfying. And because of this ridiculously fast pace, I feel no suspense, tension, investment, or really anything. It’s a horror that doesn’t even feel like one; the components are all there but it falls flat. I wouldn’t call it bad, just painfully average. I was left with no emotion and it won’t be long till I forget what even happens in this volume. Not to mention I’ve read other manga with a similar theme that do it a lot better.

Not as consistently good as volumes 4 and 5, but fans of the series will still find plenty to like about it.
