“I keep wondering where I fit in this picture,” he said. “I don’t belong here, Ryker, not with you or your pack.”
“You haven’t stayed here for more than a day,” Ryker reminded him. The Alpha spun him by the shoulder, forcing Heath to look him in the eyes.
“You can’t make rash conclusions like that. Don’t I get a say when it comes to us?”
“There is no us,” Heath reminded Ryker.
“Not yet.” Then Ryker fisted his shirt and pulled Heath close.

Dude, they're talking forever after one day. And they've barely had a full conversation.

:/ Middle of the fence with rating this.

Let's get the positives out the way: this is an easy read, low angst (yes, even with murders, violence, drug abuse, PTSD and kidnapping - it's fluffed out to the gills uwu), there's minimal typos and it can really be read as a standalone.

Oh, it's formulaic, but if that's what you're looking for, this is the one for you! I never read this author or series and it's suuuuuuper easy to follow along. Simple writing where you don't need to turn on the thinking cap! Some days you need that.

The not so great: the serious topics are easily resolved and fluffed out to the gills.

The relationship development? Well, they (Ryker + Heath) tell the reader that it's forever, so even if it's unbelievable to me, they told me, so it must be true. And what does it matter what I think anyway? *shrug*

The sex? 1 out of 5 on the heat factor. Maybe it touched 2, but overall it was super quick and not sexy. Loss of virginity and it seemed like Heath was worried about it but he got over it quickly, as he did everything.

The characters are likeable, they pretty much told me they are rather than show the reader anything of substance.

So I'll wrap this up, omega fox shifter saves baby chipmunk shifter from being kidnapped and meets the alpha wolf dad. It's the alpha dad's turn in his pack to mate, so fox shifter it is. Plus, follow up with the previous 2 books protagonists and their kids. I think their was knotting? Maybe? Boom! Pregnancy! The end.

This is somewhere in the 2-3 star range for me. However, this is more written for Fel Fern fans. I see the appeal because it's easy, quick reading and binge-worthy if you dig this formula.

I might read book #2 because I like the socially awkward MCs. *sigh* We'll see.

This is a really fascinating Mpreg shifter romance & the 3rd book in the “Shattered Pack” series, there are character crossovers but it can be read as a standalone. The plot is suspenseful & filled with unpredictable situations that are well-described & has quite good world building. The characters are interesting & quite likable with good chemistry between them.
It is about: a young male omega fox shifter (Heath McDowell) with terrible memories promptly rescues a young chipmunk shifter (Brody) from fellow gang members & comes into contact with the father (an alpha male wolf shifter, Ryker Johnson) naturally Heath is very distrustful but the attractions flare & things seem to be working out until danger rears its ugly head.
There is: a psychopathic alpha (Victor) & his gang (Jim, Lee & Otto), Health’s despicable parents (Hal & Daryl), various kinds of shifters, alphas, omegas, mates, friendship, comradery, some twists, abduction, drama, some suspense, intrigue, family betrayal, threats, danger, violence, conflict, protectiveness, disagreements, anxiety, trust issues, memories, compromises, love, some steam & a well-deserved happy conclusion. I look forward to the next book in this series with great anticipation.

the story is interesting but edit edit edit! Names in the wrong places, sentences that make no sense, grammar all messed up. Characters are great, story interesting, but the mistakes are everywhere, to the point where it impacts the story and reading experience.

Sometimes the best things come when you least expect it
Ryker couldn’t believe what he was seeing his ex-boyfriend and father of his little boy had been murdered. And his son Brody was missing. The police were looking at him as if he was a suspect but thankfully he had an alibi. All he wanted to do was change into his Wolf and searched For his son. His Other pack member Jax's Was with him and he was out searching. Once the PIU had finished with him He was off looking. Search in the words thankfully the caught a sent and followed it only to find, it was his ex boyfriend's boyfriend murdered. He was out of his mind with worry for Brody. As he continued to run he saw fox shifter Omega running with what looked like A baby chipmunk Omega in his mouth and Ryker knew that that was his son.
Heath hated his life. He had the worst start in life his parents were druggies and they didn’t care about Heath at all. He couldn’t believe that they had sold him to this pack of evil Alpha’s for drugs. They treated him like dirt and he was scared of them. It wasn’t just the head Alpha Victor it was Ian, a polar bear shifter that really worried him. But when he noticed that they had a baby shifter he knew he had to do something. He could see The baby was scared. So Heath grabbed him and ran shifting into his fox. He knew they would kill him if they caught him. But thankfully he ran into two other alphas and he just watched on But could he trusted these new Alpha’s???
What would Ryker do when he gets his son back??
Could he trusts this Omega that risked his life for Brody??
Would Heath be able to trust another Alpha??
This book was super super cute. It was a slow burn but I think that’s what was needed for them both to learn to trust again. There’s also a twist in there that keeps you hooked to the storyline. I really enjoy reading about this pack. And the fact that we still get to read about the Pack members we met in previous books is just brilliant. I cannot wait for Book number four.

Ryker's worst nightmare has come true. His son is missing, the omega dad and his boyfriend are found dead. Without any leads, he is struggling to keep his wolf in check. He enlists his packmates to help him find his son while the scent is still fresh. After spending so many years fighting with Frank for the chance to see his son, he suddenly becomes the only living parent and doesn't know if he can do it. So many questions and his son, Brody, is out there all alone-or is he?

Heath was sold to a dangerous pack of alphas by his parents to support their drug habit. Treated more like the help rather than a cherished omega, he accidentally stumbles upon a tiny shifter in a cage. Clearly, he sees the little one frightened and does what he can to protect him. Sensing the situation will not end well, he shifts and escapes with the scared chipmunk.

Ryker and his packmates pick up on Brody's scent in the woods. What they did not expect was to run into a red-tailed fox, Heath, holding his son and on the run in the woods. First order of business - get everyone out of danger. Second - try to reconnect with his son and his fated mated.
Brody trusts Heath more than he does Ryker. Heath and Ryker are just as reluctant. Three souls who have had a hard time are trying to navigate expanding a pack, expanding their family, and learning to trust one another.

Can they all learn to trust one another and save their fated union? Danger continues to lurk as they delicately navigate an entirely different future.

Although this book is a standalone with a new couple, there are heavy mentions of characters from the previous books. To get the full background and enjoyment, I recommend reading the first two books as well.

This story had several elements that show the reader a shifter’s life is not always simple. And when these incidents begin to come together, they will create a whole new dynamic! Heath McDowell is a fox shifter omega whose despicable parents had sold him to a cruel and crazy Alpha named Victor in exchange for their drugs. Unrelated to Heath’s situation, Alpha wolf Ryker Johnson had lost his own family when he found his omega murdered and his son Brody taken away.

When Victor’s psychotic gang members, Jim and Lee, bring a small chipmunk shifter back to the cabin in a birdcage, intending to keep it as their child, Heath goes into protective mode to rescue Brody. In a rage, Lee starts to change into an elk whose sharp horns could have ripped Heath and Brody apart, so Heath quickly shifts into his fox and takes Brody away from the danger. During his escape, he runs into a group of wolves and Ryker claims Brody was his missing son!

Heath, of course, is fearful of this new Alpha, but Ryker feels his protective instincts rising to want to keep the omega safe. Heath’s own attraction to the Alpha is confusing him. And when the vicious polar bear shifter Jim from Heath’s past reappears unexpectedly, Ryker has to battle against him as he tries to kill Heath. Will Ryker’s determination to defend Heath finally show the omega that Ryker is his fated mate and they belong together?

Reeling in Ryker is book 3 in the Shattered Pack series. I loved this book. I was glad Ryker got his happy ending. When Ryker's ex ends up dead and his son Brody is missing he asks the other alphas in his pack to help him search for the little boy. After being sold to a awful alpha by his parents Heath has no loyalty to, he had no problem being brave when another alpha in the outlaw pack, he now found himself with, brought back to the cabin a little squirrel shifter. Heath didn't want the others to harm the little boy so he shifted into his fox form and ran out of the cabin carrying the squirrel by the scruff of his neck. Heath runs into Ryker and their journey begins. I love Heath and Ryker together. I love how protective Heath is of Brody and how Brody trusts him. It took a tragedy to bring Ryker, Heath, and Brody together and as must as I'm glad Ryker got his son, I'm also glad Heath got out of his awful situation and found a wonderful alpha who wants him. This book is action packed and I couldn't put it down. I definitely recommend this book and series and I can't wait for the next book.

Just because life kicks you in the teeth, doesn't mean you don't have a great smile. Heath, was resigned to his life, but wary. The pack, his drug addicted parents sold him into is not a nice healthy cohesive team. He learned how to adapt and take a beating. Ryker, got the news that his nemesis baby omega was killed and his son, Brody is missing. He has been twisted up because Frank, wouldn't let him see Brody, now this. How much will the world throw in his face? Jim and Lee showed up with an unexpected child and Heath was alarmed. He took his chance and escaped with the baby. Does Ryker ever find Brody? Do Jim and Lee find Heath? Does Heath save the baby? Does Ryker ever get his temper in control? Good story. The pack is still going strong. The characters are still going strong. Well done! This would have been a fail for me if not for how great Ryker was at dealing with their enemies

I know that the title is delightfully alliterative, but why couldn’t the story fit the title? Or vice versa? Ryker wasn’t the one who needed to be reeled in. Also, why did this book contradict itself within paragraphs? Very early on, we learn that only fated mates have the ability to share lifeforce, and yet Ryker doubts that he can have a connection with Heath.

I gave this rating an extra star because I really liked how the pack came together to help Ryker track down, and deal with, Brody’s kidnappers. And then, how Ryker ensured that Heath would never have to worry about his safety, both by protecting him, and trying to teach him to defend himself.

Ryker is Finally Complete...

With each book, I'm loving this pack more and more. Ryker's story has always been sad since book 1 and I was so ready for him to have a happily ever after. What brought tragedy in the beginning brought Ryker Heath and a new a beginning. I loved their pairing. Both somewhat broken but they were able to complete each other so wonderfully. I absolutely loved this story. Fel Fern is really a good story teller and she keeps me coming back for more and more. I can't wait for Jax's story next.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. When Ryker's ex is murdered and his son goes missing, Ryker is called in for questioning but he has an airtight alibi. When they reach for Brody, they find the ex's dead alpha. Heath has been submissive all his life but defies his owner when Brody is kidnapped. Heath rescues Brody. Ryker and his pack mates take care of the rogue pack or almost all of the pack. Ryker brings Heath home with him and Heath helps Brody. Ryker and Heath slowly become mates as trust builds. There is a brief argument that puts Heath in danger but that danger is put to rest permanently.

Health’s parents sold him to Victor for money for drugs. Then Jim and Lee showed up with a small chipmunk he knew that he had to save the little one, Health shifted into a fox and grabbed the little one. Jim and Lee had killed the parents they thought but Ryker was alive and looking for his son Brody, when Health with Brody ran into them. Brody had to learn to trust his father again with Health’s help he did. Ryker and Health fell in love and realized they were mates, yay! Great book! Going to wait for the next book!

Heath has never experienced a nice Alpha, Ryker has trouble controlling his anger. They shouldn't work, but the heart wants what it wants. Will they help each other heal?

Love the chemistry between these two! I loved the fact that while Heath was terrified of Alpha's, he was still determined to protect an innocent child and he was able to see that maybe he wrong about all Alpha's being horrible. I loved how Ryker was determined to do anything he could to protect his child and his mate and that while he was an Alpha, he showed other sides to himself. Good read!

Reeling in Ryker is another great book in the Shattered Pack series by Fel Fern. I loved Heath and Ryker and Ryker's son, Brody. I loved how Brody rebounded after his parents were killed and he was kidnapped. I was happy that Heath got a better mate after his parents sold him to Victor. I can't wait to read Jax's story when it comes out.

I truly enjoyed the romance between Ryker and Heath even though they had met during horrible circumstances. I loved the characters (Ryker's pack) and the plot was very compelling. I was frustrated with Heath for a moment when he went back to his druggy parent's home, but after that he had won me over again. I appreciated this author's style of writing and I'm definitely about to read the last book in this series. I wish there was more. Very pleasurable read.

Ryker is looking for his missing son. He finds him and Heath, an Omega that might just be his fated mate. Heath was sold by his parents to an abusive Alpha and his violent pack. He runs with a baby Omega chipmunk to save him from harm and runs right into Ryker. He can't believe he is worthy of the Alpha and Ryker doesn't know if he's worthy of having Heath. If he can get Heath to trust him to keep him safe and in their connection, they might just have a future.

Heath’s parents sold him to another Alpha for drug money. Heath saves Ryker’s son after the Alphas men kill the parents, only Ryker is still alive and looking for his son. I loved these two, both a little damaged but they were mates and feel in love. Good story. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received.

This series is a nice read. The only objection I have is I wish someone would edit and proofread before it is published. Very similar to other books I have read and I enjoy them. I'll be reading the next one which would be the last of this series and may try her other books. Just hope the proofreading will be better it can be annoying.

Horrible Writing

I let curiosity get the better of me and I tortured myself with more bad writing. As with the other books, this story could have been good. There was action, drama and romance. But the writing killed it.

I would love to read Jax's story, but I can't go through this again.

I’m giving this a bit of a lower rating mainly because I never connected with Ryker as a characters. I also thought they both acted rather stupidly later on in the book. All in all, the book was okay.
