The Blooms are once again invited back through the fairy door to visit the new companion school when disaster unexpectedly strikes. Yikes! Nesrin!!! Although Martha and Beatrice are twins and have a special connection that goes beyond sisters; they are quite different. Beatrice tends to be more spontaneous where Martha is more apt to think things through, an observation that crystallizes as the story progresses.

Martha plays a long and pivotal role in this episode. Her display of compassion, courage and fairness is both nail biting and admirable. A past wrong must be put to right; but how? Martha finds a way to prove that differences can most certainly be a strength when working together.

For me, this installment is the best so far as the action is heart pounding and non stop; but even more, it is well thought out. Tudor does not let up on the action that holds the attention of young readers and she doesn’t miss an opportunity to send a message. Kudos for giving a children’s book the same attention to detail as an adult book. Oh! I must mention two more characters, one feathered and one furry… Barnabus and Bracken!

This is what my 10 year old granddaughter, Haley has to say…

Why I liked these books:
I love these books because I love fantasy and adventure. I am so excited to read the next two books. My favorite book of the three is Martha Bloom And The Glass Compass. I like this book because it is the most detailed and exciting. I rate this series a 5 out of 5.

I’ve already ordered the next book, Felicity Bloom and the Golden Arrow, coming out next month. Haley is trying to finagle away to read it first! 🤭🤣🥰

I absolutely LOVE this series! I want to give each book a big ole “book hug” after finishing! They have all given me such a heartwarming, happy feeling-& I’m so grateful for that. They’re an amazing escape, & I love pretending I’m apart of the Bloom family, on an adventure in Fairy Land w/them. This is the 3rd book, so can’t say a lot. But each book we read from a different Bloom family member. This time it is Martha’s POV. Martha is another strong, fierce bloom. She is also compassionate & the most sensible. She just has to find her voice & her strength. I loved seeing her grow more as a character, & see her own special role in her story/adventure play out. We saw more little furry friends this time, as well as other residents of Fairy Land. I loved the whole backstory of those residents, & how they played into this story in the present. My heart always melts for the little animal friends. My heart belonged to the favs of before, but also to new ones: My heart! Ahhh Still full of adventure, magic, integrity, compassion, danger, suspense, heart, family, & love. I picked this up on page 39, & finished the rest in 1 sitting. Great underlying messages such as:you should never judge by appearances or differences. Just b/c someone is different from you, or looks differently doesn’t mean they’re bad. “Even the most beautiful face could hide a heart of evil.”-Martha Bloom Highly recommend the all books. Another amazing cover by 100 covers, & chapter head illustrations by Lina Amarego(Silver Wheel Press)as well.💜

I was lucky enough to get to Beta read this wonderful book. Like the other two in Estelle's series, Martha's story is just as magical as the others. Once again Nesrin is up to her old tricks and the Bloom family must stop her, Martha shows that even through hard times having compassion is a strength not a weakness. I love the message this book as well as the others in Estelle's series gives and would be happy to gift these to nieces and younger readers.

This was the first book I've read in this series and honestly, I was charmed by it. From its beautiful cover to its map of Fairy Land it drew me in. I loved the animal companions and how bright, sparkly and unashamedly fun everything was. At the same time, the storyline doesn't shy away from darker topics and the mystery, plot and worldbuilding are definitely more complex than its sparkly exterior would have you believe.

You will fall in love with responsible Martha and the rest of her family, as well as be awed by the worldbuilding. Everything feels alive and vibrant and you can imagine yourself there. It is the sort of book young girls would love to re-read and pretend they are a member of the Bloom family! Overall, a very enjoyable read.

I cannot say enough about this author who takes me on incredible adventures! I've been saving this series for way too long to read, like a child who doesn't want to open a present to save the anticipation of what is inside. This third book in the “Through the Fairy Door” series is my favourite so far. Quickly getting me into another exciting adventure with the Bloom family and some of my favourite characters I've grown to love. With new characters that I adore! I would write more, but I need to sign off to go on the next adventure and through the fairy door!
