Nixed in Notting Hill is Book 9 in the Cassie Coburn Series by Samantha Chase.
I absolutely enjoyed this book so much. This is such a great series set in the London.

When the head of a major publishing company is murdered, Cassie and Violet are on the case.

The characters are well developed and real. I love the dialogue between Cassie and Violet, they respect one another but are not afraid to express their differing opinions.

The mystery was great, I did not see that coming.

This is a series and book I highly recommend!

3.5*

Publishing is Murder

Love this series & this new Cassie Coburn is a real treat. Violet Depuis, easily the equal of a certain S. Holmes, is as bored as said Holmes. She's reduced to solving a domestic murder. Cassie's happy to join in, however, when a publisher of several popular mystery/thriller writers is found murdered not once but twice. Violet must sort out who the killer(s) might be when the possible suspects write murders for a living. This story has one of the best cast of characters in the whole series. They are quirky, pompous or just plain scary. Plus we get to see Cassie at work in her medical profession at St. Thomas' A&E (hospital emergency room). Samantha Silver writes one heck of a cosy mystery. If this is your first encounter with the Cassie Coburn mysteries, you'll want to read the rest of them too.

Violet and Cassie have a new case.
Two actually.
Violet is bored so she takes a murder case that she solves in less than an hour.
The second case has more of a challenge.
An editor is found murdered in her home.
The only problem is that some of the evidence doesn't match the crime.

Pro's:
Developed characters a good plotline
Con's:
Violet is becoming less of an interesting character.
She still has the pompous combination of Poirot and Holmes.
She just lacks a good sparing partner.
Cassie, while being a trained medical doctor, while being curious and wanting to be included,
is not a Watson or Hastings.

I absolutely adore these books, and the series is one of my favorite cozy series. I think I love them because these are about Violet and Cassie...not the fumbling sheriff boyfriend swooping in and saving the women prevalent in so many other cozy mysteries. They save themselves. They work together, and they figure it out.
I hope she writes more, and I've already pre-ordered book 10.

This is a 3.5 I almost rate it a 4 because I like the series so much. I rated it down as I guessed partially who done it...

Great read

Just finished reading the whole series and loved every minute of each book. Great characters, interesting plots, and an all around great story.
