When I was a kid, my father told me a story about the Carter family. He said it all started with him, from the moment he saw my mother and realised what it was to love someone so much you’d destroy the world for them. The plot soon thickened when, one by one, my uncles found their true loves.
Now, the next generation of Carters, my generation, were following in their fathers’ footsteps. My father thought of his love story as the beginning of the Carter legend. I thought of it as the Carter curse. Having one woman may come with benefits, but playing with many was so much more fun.
Until her.
She held my attention and pulled me in like no other, and trying to keep her in the friend zone was proving harder than I imagined, especially with obstacles pulling us together.
She needed me. And I liked being the shoulder she cried on, the person she called, the one who made her laugh.

Maddox Carter is struggling with a decision he made that altered his relationship with his best friend and cousin Lily. Maddox ends up in a situation with his new neighbor Amelia and her kids. Maddox decides Amelia is in need of a friend and who better to fill the role then him. Problem is though feelings begin to arise and Maddox doesn't know what to do about it. On the one hand she is with him in all things but sleeping together, can Maddox figure it out before he ends up losing her forever?
This was great, a bit more angsty where Maddox was concerned. A lot of Max in this one and the way he handles the horrible neighbors is hilarious. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series thus far and hope Charlottes book is next.

Brilliant
Maddox was everything I thought it would be, I laughed so much it was amazing! You would think he was Max’s son he is just like his mini me. I loved how his friendship turned into love with Amelia and the bond he had with Asher was just heart melting. I truly will never get bored of these characters or this world, a truly gifted author! Can’t wait for Charlotte’s book!

Another lovely witty read
Maddox and Amelia was a lovely story and how they just fitted together so easy. Maddox is just so sweet, funny and so needy in a good way. Amelia is a strong women and great mum. The Carter family is just wonderful, everyone should have a family like that. Even Jaxons family I love.
My only grip was one chapter didnt make sense its just I have read Eye for an Eye that I knew what was being spoken about and some information was incorrect. But it was a really lovely funny get together oh and the kids where wonderful.
Cannot wait for Charlottes story really interested to see who she ends up with.

Favorite Carter!
Let me start by saying that Hayden was my favorite book of all time..Until this one! My husband said this is the most I have ever laughed out loud at a book. Maddox is charming and funny and loyal. He is everything you want in a book boyfriend. I was worried about his past a little but I truly believe he was redeemed. As for Amelia, she ended up being so strong I can’t believe she didn’t break for what she had been through. Her and the kids are so perfect for Maddox. I can’t wait for Charlottes book!
Also, Max and Hayden just need a series of their adventures. Can you imagine???

Ame este libro. Los Carter son la familia más loca, divertida y leal de todas. Maddox es muy divertido con una personalidad parecida a su tío Max. Es un espíritu libre que no tiene planeado asentarse hasta que conoce a Amelia. Amelia paso por momentos muy difícil con su pareja anterior. Y ahora se encuentra siendo madre soltera de una hermosa niña de seis años y un bebe recién nacido. Si bien esta feliz con su independencia esta la abruma un poco. Es en esta nueva etapa de su vida que conoce a su apuesto, divertido y encantador vecino. Maddox se convertirá en un gran apoyo para Amelia. Y Amelia y los niños llenaran en Maddox un vacío en su vida que el hasta el momento ignoraba que tenia.
No saben lo que me divertí y emocione con esta historia. No miento cuando digo que Maddox es el calco de Max ambos salen con cada locura que no se como el resto de la familia no los estrangulo antes. Definitivamente Lisa se luce cada vez más con cada libro de esta serie y no puedo esperar por leer el próximo que es el de Charlotte.

Maddox isn't into relationships, he likes his friend with benefits kind of lifestyle. Although when he see's his new neighbor he has his eyes on her. Until he realizes she is expecting and thinks there is a man in her life. When they finally get their introduction it is when he saves her daughter from being hit by a car which makes Amelia's water break and her labor begin. It is a comedy of errors when Maddox is the one who has to help her have her baby.
From there their friendship blossoms. Maddox goes out of his way to make sure Amelia knows he isn't looking for relationships just a good time. He is very expressive with his family that he doesn't want her even though he can't keep away from her.
You really don't get any romance in this book until the very end when Maddox finally realizes how he feels and finally clues Amelia into the fact.
For me this book was just okay. I'm not sure what message the author is trying to convey with the eating, but every single one in this family has an obsession with food. I'm just over it, it was a bit funny in the other books but now it's just over the top ridiculous. Maddox was an nice hero when it came to Amelia and her kids but it took him to long to figure out how he felt considering how long this book was, would have benefited it more to come to this conclusion sooner and then trying to win her over throughout the book. I also didn't get the weird neighbor vibe. Why he let it go on for as long as he did and complained about it constantly and yet never really did anything about it even though he kept saying he could get them out of there. If it wasn't for his family he would still be fighting that battle.

I loved how much this book made me laugh!🙏 Maddox is a slightly toned down version of his crazy, over the top, Uncle Max, who features regularly in this book. Together they're hysterical.🙈😂 Princess Jaz & Maddox had me in fits of giggles too.😍 I loved all of the tender & emotional moments. Amelia was so strong & feared failing so badly, it hurt my heart for her.💔 As always I can't recommend this Authors work enough.😍🌟

I am always a sucker for a romance set in the UK and Maddox did not disappoint. This is book 5 in the Next Generation Carter Brother Series. Each book is just as enjoyable as the last. If you’ve made it this far in the series then you are definitely invested in the family and want all the next generation kids to get their happy ever after.
Maddox’s book was an enjoyable friends to lovers story. I normally prefer enemies to lovers books because of the drama and angst but I actually really liked the build up and story of this one. There was still plenty of drama and angst and you couldn’t help but feel for Amelia, who has been through so much at only 23 years old.
There were times where you just wanted to shake Maddox and tell him to go get the girl instead of holding back, but it was great to see him grow up and emotionally mature, especially in his interactions with Amelia’s children.
Of course Max and the rest of the Carter clan were never far away to provide some light hearted, laugh out loud moments, particularly in their dealings with the awful neighbours.
As a contemporary romance series the Carter Brothers next generation are guaranteed to be a good read and I’m excited to see how Charlottes book turns out!

First things first; I really like the cover of this book!
Maddox is the fifth book in the ‘’next generation Carter brother’’ series. I devoured this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters loveable and the storyline enjoyable. Having just escaped an abusive relationship, Amelia isn’t looking for love. Maddox has no plans to settle down. When he meets his new neighbour who is a single parent and heavily pregnant, will feelings develop between them?
The chemistry between Maddox and Amelia is clear to see and I loved them together. I thought they made a cute couple.
I thought Jasmine was adorable and I loved her and Maddox’s bond.
I have said it before and I will say it again, I love the Carter family. They’re hilarious! I loved all of their moments in this book but Especially the Max moments. Maddox is definitely a younger version of Max. I loved how all of Amelia’s new friends are protective of her.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

WOW, honestly, what can I say but WOW. Lisa you have done it again, this book was insanely amazing! Lisa has been a favourite author of mine since Malik, and as soon as I saw the book was live, I dropped what I was doing to buy it. Lisa's books are the ones where I don't need to read the blurb before hand, I just know I'll love it so even before I started reading I knew it would not disappoint, I knew I would love it (I just didn't know how much!) I couldn't put it down, from the very first word, chapter, page, I was captivated, lost in the fictional world.
The plotline and the characters, well I couldn't fault them (I mean they are the Carter's after all!) I literally spent the entire book smiling and laughing out loud, some parts I even cried with laughter. It was brilliant. I can not fault it. I was so gutted to have finished it as I didn't want it to end, I cannot wait for the next one! I 100% recommend you read this (and all the other Carter books by Lisa too!)
The best book to have finished 2020 with, it definitely meant I ended the year on a high!

5 ‘hilarious’ stars!!
This book had me shaking with laughter, which is no surprise considering it was written by Lisa Helen Gray!
Gray is my favourite author and it’s mainly because she has a unique way of bringing such tragic stories to life in her books, her in depth detail allows for us readers to gain connections with her characters, both primary and secondary, which is why the Carter Brothers is and always will be my favourite series of all time and my go too recommendation to my fellow bookish friends!
Maddox was a slow burner, single parent love story. It featured Maddox, the son of Malik and Harlow, and Amelia, who’s new to the street and has just moved in opposite to Maddox! The chemistry between the two characters was sexy af and their banter had me chuckling throughout!
Jasmine was such a cutie and her relationship with Maddox was beautiful to read and very funny at times! She was such a character!!
This was another superb book by Gray and she just keeps getting better and better! I can hardly contain my excitement for Charlotte!!!!

This book made my heart melt! I love the next generation books and reading about how everyone is doing!
I was really curious to Maddox book and he didnt dissapoint! MADDOX the overbearing, kind hearted soul got STRUCk by love! The way he cares abiu Amelia and her kids is just beautifull. I love a book with kids, so this just made my day! Amelia a strong independent woman who just got run down by the carter madness! I love the way she just went with it and started growing into the strong woman she became in the end!
This carter family just warms my heart every single time! Can't wait to read more of them and omg CHARLOTTE'S snippet has my heart breaking and i just want her book in my hands!!

This book being released made this awful year better! I finished this in a day could not put it down! When I saw this book was out I was so excited and it did not disappoint! The Carter's brothers have been in my life from the start and could always count on them making me laugh and happy. They were my book boyfriends (don't judge they are hot). Sometimes when an author does a spin-off series I am left disappointed , it is not the case with the Next Generation Series. I love them and have come to love all the children and love the way they have such a strong family bond. None of the books have ever disappointed me! I love them all and I'm counting down the days until Charlottes book, I just hope I don't have to wait too long.

Another amazing one!!
Loved everything about this story, i can't pick a favorite part because the whole book was wonderful. Lisa is an amazing author who time and again writes a story that i immediately get sucked into. It never fails. She's one of those authors i could just reread and never get bored. No spoilers from me, if you've ever read one of her books then you know it'll be good, but you really do need to read them all to get a feel for all the characters.

Crazy Carter.
I just loved this book. More crazy funny Cater family madness ..Amelia had a very hard time of it raising two kids working after all the drama from her ex and his family but along comes Maddox to help out and boom we get to see him fall for the little family. Lisa really writes these stories with such love and a lot of crazy fun thrown in.
Look forward to reading Charlotte 's story.

Holy S*!t
Loved this book! There were times I wanted the shake the life out of Maddox but then in the next breath I was dying with laughter. It is hard to to find books that’ll captivate you from the beginning right until the last page, I highly recommend this book. When talking about Maddox to friends, it’s really like describing the life of another weird friend. So if you are wondering do I read this book the answer is yes!

What a brilliant book by a fantastic author I stumbled upon the books by chance and cannot put each book down so glad I found these books. my heart hurt for Amelia but what a great read I was laughing throughout at all the antics and goings on with the family, would definitely recommend this series and the Carter brothers series to anyone looking for a new book to read can not wait to read the next instalment.

Holy Batman, first you get angry then you laugh, then you cry and then laugh some more. Then comes the epilogue and you get to the last page......um holy Maddox hotness. I’m glad he finally got his HEA, it took him a while and Amelia is perfect for him. Throw in those two kiddies and wow. I’m seriously glad that Maddox was the last book for 2020 for me it couldn’t have been better. Oh and We need Charlottes book soon.

Must read!!
I absolutely love Lisa’s books and I am definitely hooked on this series! Maddox was everything I was hoping for and more! It had the love, all the laughs, and of course the tears. I fell in love with Amelia and her strength. This book was everything!!! I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Another great story in the Carter World!
I've loved and enjoyed every book in this series. It's so easy to connect with the characters and to get sucked in to their world! I love how Maddox slowly realised how he was feeling as their friendship developed. Max is still my favourite character EVER! A Great Read

Omg Lisa Helen Grey has delivered again I couldn't stop laughing, I am totally in love with maddox u wrote him perfectly and there is nothing you could change from the way he is with the kids to his little antics with his uncle max you are amazing 💕💕

Laugh out loud funny
I absolutely adore the Carter family and the next generation is as brilliant as the brothers stories were.
I can't remember a book as hilllarous as this one I laughed out loud throughout the book Maddox and Max are the hoot. Yes there is some tragedy in the book but with the Carter family by your side what can go wrong! I love, love ,loved this book and highly recommend it.
I absolutely adore the Carter family and the next generation is as brilliant as the brothers stories were.

Best read ever
My favourite author, I love all the Carter books and when I can't find a book to read I go back to them ( their that good) their always funny, romantic and have action in them. It's everything you could want in a book, highly addictive and hard to put down.
Maddock is one of my favourite but max is an all time favourite I just love him

Such a great read!
I loved this book so much, it was everything! So funny and adorable and it felt like you were right there with them. I’m so excited Charlotte is next! She deserves her happy ending and I hope Scott gets what’s coming to him! He needs the Carter treatment for sure.

SO GOOD
OMG it was so good! I loved getting a whole book on Maddox as well as even more hilarious Carter gang shenanigans that had me laughing out loud. Another awesome Carter family book from Lisa Helen Grey

Best book I have read in a while
This book has made my day it is such a good book and it highlights problems that some authors may be afraid to write about I can't wait until Charlotte's book because you have smashed this one out of the park.

Honestly I LOVE this series the author always brings tears to my eyes from laughing so much!!!! I love that we still see all the other characters and it’s not solely about the main ones being written about I can not wait for charlottes book !!!
