“You can’t always love people out of their pain” Cole did!! *in my DJ Khaled voice*
What a beautiful story this was!!
Whenever I discover a new author that I’m absolutely in love with, the desire to deep dive down the rabbit hole of their catalog becomes almost instantaneous. For Rhonda McKnight it was a given especially after “Bitter and Sweet” as well as “The Thing About Home”. I don’t usually venture too far back into an authors work and 2020 is typically my cut off so the Bennett series just made the cut and the first installment in this 10 book series did not miss the mark.
So many gems were dropped and life lessons taught within these pages and I truly enjoyed Lenise and Cole’s love story.
Lenise is a widowed single mother navigating life after the death of her abusive spouse all while raising an infant son. Her life is her and she accepts the bad with the good but when the bad turns to worse and identity theft leaves her homeless, broke and living in her car she’s not sure her faith will carry her through one of the darkest times in her life.
She had no idea that her angel on earth that she’d just met weeks prior would be all of her answered prayers and even the answer to the ones she’s yet to pray. Her pride made for a difficult start and with very good reason. All Cole Bennett wanted to do was to love her back to life but sometimes healing has to come before love!
Their journey was a beautiful one and even though the book read a bit elementary due to the age of the story I still enjoyed the message and the way it was delivered.
I look forward to continuing the rest of the series and will most likely sprinkle it throughout the rest of my reading this year. If you’re looking for a really good wholesome read then add this one to your TBR.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4: 18-19
Lenise never thought a visit to the ER would lead her to a man like Cole Bennett. Cole Bennett is rich, handsome, and single with a heart of gold. Even though the attraction is mutual, unhealed trauma threatens their future together. Will Lenise and Cole be able to live happily ever after?
Author Rhonda Mc Knight delivers an unforgettable love story that reminds us to be open for love when it shows up in our life. So often, we ask God for things, and when it shows up, we run in the opposite direction because of fear.
All She Wants was a perfect story to get me out of a reading slump. The story flowed effortlessly and kept me turning pages. Some romance writers write absurd scenarios to show that love is worth fighting for, but this is not the case with Author McKnight’s novella. I read this book in one sitting!
I fell in love with some of the characters and caught an attitude with a few others. If an author can invoke an array of emotions out of me – it’s a sure winner for me. I can’t wait to read more from this series.
When a man shows you that you are more than just an object for his affection, it's sometimes difficult to accept; in this story, the message was even in hard times, there is always hope. Rich doesn't always mean money. When Lenise was thrust into an unimaginable situation, she met a man of excellent means. The man was extremely wealthy, and she'd been drilled to think she was less. So why would this man want her? Cole Bennett was more than his bank balance, and Lenise would learn that and more.
3.5 ⭐ So this is book 1 of a 9 part series AND this is a novella, so I'm going to be gracious with my review.
The Good This was a very sweet romance story that made me smile at the MMC's thoughtfulness and generosity. He was almost perfect and I loved that for the FMC. This is also a Christian fiction so no spice which, as I get older I really appreciate. Like Tony Baker said, "sex scenes in movies are overrated", that sentiment for me now applies for books as well. 🤷🏾♀️🤣
The Not So Great This romance was DEFINITELY an insta-love kinda story and I really don't like insta love. I need for the love to be deep and passionate and I don't get that with these types of stories. While the MMC was amazing I was very lost on why he was in love... 🤔 He barely knew this woman so I was confused on his attachment to her and annoyed at how much mess he took from her.
The FMC almost made me DNF because Giiirrrrrllll.... 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 Get your stuff together or GO AWAY LOL. She was SUPER annoying and insecure (I understand somewhat why) and that got on my last nerve. The misunderstanding on her part was painful to read and it pissed me off A LOT!
Novellas don't give all the details of "WHY" that I need to love a story, but since this is a 9 part series, I do like the author's writing style enough to continue with the story, and prayerfully I'll get the answers I'm looking for.
All in all, not a bad story but I just needed a lot more questions answered in order to love it.
Rhonda McKnight is my girl and Ima always stick beside her. 💕🤣
You know what, this was good and this is from a person that is not a huge fan of christian romance....unless its messy lmao.
But anyolways, here we have Lenise who is having a hard time at life and chile when I tell you it was kicking her butt, it was kicking it. Now a single mom after the death of her husband (who wasn't really s**t anyways), Lenise finds herself homeless. To her rescue it Cole Bennett, a billionaire with a heart of a saint.
Cole is instantly taking with Lenise after meeting her one night while she was at the hospital with her son. But convincing Lenise that her past is not her present or future is a tough ride and Cole isn't so sure he can hold on much longer. I honestly didn't know how the man kept his patience with the woman but when your past is nothing but abuse in all forms, its hard to trust espically when things seem to good to be true. So I understood Lenise's hesitation to Cole's glittery world and smooth words.
Still, the message the author intended for this All She Wants rang clear, love is patient and Lenise along with Cole learns that they both deserve a HEA despite their past.
I’ve had this series in my Kindle Library for quite awhile. Something drew me to it today, and I’m thankful for that! This is my first reading of Ms. McKnight’s, and definitely will not be the last!! I’m a little late to The Bennett’s, but rather late than sorry!! 😉
Now, oh my goodness, this was an excellent story!! There was heartbreak and healing for Lenise , but she endured it all with her biggest cheerleader in Cole, even though it took awhile for her to see it!! There was learning and understanding for Cole, as well!! Through prayer and love, they were able to overcome obstacles in their way!! I absolutely loved this book and so highly recommend it!! I hope to hear more about them, but in the meantime, I’m going to mosey on over to Book 2 and enjoy Zeke’s story!! Kudos, Rhonda!! 💜💜
Love is patient. Love is kind. That is what this story is about. Widow Lenise is finally free from a toxic relationship with her husband and meets Cole Bennett. After one date, they realize their connection. Lenise one day finds herself sleeping in her car because of fraud and her bank account is wiped out. Pride keeps her from telling Cole about her situation. Cole goes to great length to find Lenise and helps her get back on her feet. She doesn't make it easy for Cole, but Cole has the patience of a saint until she really tests him. I could use a man like Cole.
Rhonda McKnight and pen is a dangerous thing. This book has been calling to me for days and finally, I set aside the book I WAS reading and delved in to the story. Needless to say, I did not stop until I reached the end. Now I need Cole and Lenise to marry, have more babies and create the best HEA my little brain can imagine for these two. This author is a gift. Her stories are a gift. And you will not be disappointed by giving yourself time to engage with her work.
Lenice was too prideful for me. I know she had been through a lot with the first husband but on the strength alone if everything that Cole did, she should at least given him the opportunity to explain himself. Yet, she was mean, surly and disrespectful. I did not like her. No matter how hurt you are, you don’t deviate too much from who you truly are. So for her to act that “ugly,” let’s me know that she’s really an ugly personality on the inside. So no, I didn’t like the book.
What an engaging read! The wonderful friends that care for the character Lenise. The best friend "Stacy" gave her the limited funds that she had. Cole in addition to his money gave her his care, heart and strength.
Emotional and psychological abuse can be harmful and destructive. I'm happy that the story includes counseling along with prayer.
I enjoyed reading this author's writing. Although I have a number of her books, this is my first time reading her works. I have found another amazing author!
Beautiful story of love, pain, forgiveness, redemption and most importantly grace. Cole needed to give love and feel loved and needed. He needed to feel whole, and after years of abuse Lenise needed the same. They were exactly that for each, but not without facing the “demons” of the past and their own brutal truths. More than anything, they needed to give each other the grace they so desperately needed. This is a great read that will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Definitely a ride worth taking.
I really enjoyed All She Wants. Lenise and Cole's story is inspired by the story of Mary and Joseph. Lenise goes through some bad shortcomings while getting to know Cole, a rich man without the arrogance. When Lenise ends up homeless with a child, she must trust herself to make the right decisions. Cole wants to rescue them, but his charming ways may not be enough to win Lenise's heart. This was a great story.
What a Great story but short, I really enjoyed reading this book. Lenise's character went through so much heart ache, I could understand why she felt that way. The mother's words towards her daughter was disappointing. She didn't want to allow her dead ex husband to get in the way of new relationship, so glad she realized she needed help. Thanks for this great book😊
All Lenise Reid has ever known is abuse and distrust of the people who should protect her. Cole Bennett is rich and kind. After a chance meeting in a hospital ER, he wanted Lenise in his life.
Cole and Lenise had to overcome emotional, mental and spiritual obstacles on their journey to love.
I love the way Cole loved and cared for Lenise and her son Jax. Really enjoyed this book.
A clean heartwarming sorry full of grace. It's well written and attention-grabbing from beginning to end. It's one for all readers. Cole is that romance book guy that most readers want. He's Blessed beyond measure, single, and ready for love. But, Lenise's tight grip on her blanket of pain is challenging Cole and giving him a run for his money. The story is relatable but not preachy. It's one for all readers. Ready now for book 2
This book definitely held my attention from beginning to end. I started it and finished in the same day (I’m usually a slower reader). Lenise and Cole were so adorable, relatable, and a realistic example of two christians navigating through life and love. I’m super excited to read the other books now. I also appreciated the new perspective of Joseph and Mary’s story. It’s a perfect example of Gods love for us ❤️❤️
This was a really powerful short story about Grace! Cole fell hard for Lenise and she for him but she definitely had a traumatic past that made her suspicious of his acts of kindness! I cried and laughed a few places and would love to see these characters again in a longer novel!
I truly love this story. After all the hurt and anger Lenise went through, it was good to see her except love, honestly, caring ,and truths from a God fearing man. Cole was truly and extraordinary man. When a person has been abused , its had to except some goodness from another person. God is truly amazing.
This is the first book I have read of Ms. McKnight. I love a great love story where each person has to learn to trust each other to get to the healing. This is so real in relationships that you have to heal from the past to find he love you want in the present & the future. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Beautifully written. Love is powerful, especially when God's love is involved. Cole is special because he cares about and loves people. He meets someone that steals his heart. Lenise desires thinking of love but has trust issues. She finally realizes she can be loved and love someone. I'm glad she heard God and opened her heart.
Rhonda McKnight told a riveting story of what happens when a person has been hurt from the top of their head to the soul of their feet. Then allowed us to see healing with the kindness of a man who puts God first. I can' wait to read the entire saga of the Bennett family. Now for book 2.
This is from Cole to Lenise ,"I'm willing to cover you until GOD restores you." "That's what a man with character does. He gives the woman he loves what she needs. He loves anyway." That right there is memorable. I fell in love with Cole all again.
I loved this !! A man so rich he could buy an entire production of a play for one night, that has been sold out for weeks just for the woman he wants to love. Trust issues, heart issues, money issues? You must read this book!!
Another awesome book by Rhonda McKnight! I cannot wait to see this story continue. It was a true illustration of how we can let past hurts become a hindrance to our future. This an absolutely great book.
Awesome short read. Lenise and Cole had an amazing story. Lenise had went through so much in her life. Lenise had a past that made her weary of people. Lenise ended up homeless with her child, and Cole comes to her rescue. Lenise had hurt in her life from the beginning of her life.
I enjoyed this story about a woman who became homeless and met her prince charming who took care of her and child, but not without high drama! The story ended too quickly for me and left me wanting more. I'm hoping there's more to come!
This was so great just understanding how people who were abused handle everyday life. Leanice needed help but pride got in the way. Than when seeking God first came to view, all things work for good. Loved it!!!!
