This book is different from the TV series. You don't have to read all the previous books to understand this.
Oh wow! Ali's POV.
You see a preview on how twisted her life is, how lies and deceit are always her game. She's out to torment all the people who go against her away but deep down she just wants to take off the mask.
Emily is only person who can see right through her, she's also the only person that can make Ali be a better person.

Courtney, Ali's twin sister. Frankly, I don't really know who's the most evil between them.
Ali's only edge is Emily.

Can't wait to read the next book. It's too short for my taste but I'll take it. Yes, I'm a die hard fan of Emison. :p
This is also really cheap 1.99 on Amazon. :)

Whew.
Oh boy.
Damn.

Sara Shepard's Pretty Little Liars series is my ultimate guilty pleasure. To me, it never matter how crazy or how ludicrous A's shenanigans got to be, it was AWESOME all the same. The books and the equally addicting TV series started off similar but differ drastically as both reached their relative conclusions.

Shepard has done an alternative universe to her PPL series by incorporating a fan favorite couple that was further explored on the show: Alison and Emily or "Emison," to shippers. As a tribute to the Emison fans, Shepard asked this "what if?:" What if Real Ali and Emily had met and fallen in love right before her twin sister, Courtney, switched places with her?

I didn't know I needed this version of events into my life until I read Pretty Little Love. It was so good and it was a very fast read. Although, Shepard hasn't written for this series in a while, she still had a very firm grasp of her characters. Reading that epilogue? Amazing.

Even though, it made sense in the original timeline why Real Ali wanted revenge on Courtney, this new timeline's version is compelling and made me feel bad for Real Ali. In the original, I felt bad for Courtney. Oh my God! I am so excited and glad this story was good!

As of right now, Shepard has come up with this one and its sequel: Pretty Little Lost. I am definitely reading that next. She has said it's going to be a third part. However, hear me now: if Shepard doesn't follow through with a third part, I will get a Twitter account and stalk her on it.

Not. Even. Lying.

Good mini series

I love all the Pll books and felt compelled to read these as well. The book itself isn't perfect. There are a few grammatical errors and one plot error, but for being non-published kindle book, its really very good. It's a short read, took me less than a day. Looking forward to reading book 2! Starting it right after this review!

The parts about Ali's life were interesting but I struggled to grasp the vast difference from what I knew to be the PLL books. I also was never an Emison shipper. I didn't ship Ali with anyone and I think I shipped Emily with Maya. I was more interested in the mystery and the whole A thing than any of the ships. I guess I read this hoping for a little more PLL (I know, it's an Emison book but I think that's what I got them for).

Perfect for fans of the Pretty Little Liars fans. It was fun to see the world from Ali's perspective. If not for all the typos, I would have given it a 5/5.

I loved this so much!!! Returning to Sara's PLL world was a delight and getting into Alison's head was even better. She's sometimes an unreliable narrator that I couldn't figure out if I should trust her or not. (Obviously not considering her personality) but I really liked seeing how she interact with Courtney and everyone.
I do feel bad for Emily, poor girl is going to this Ali doesn't care for her. Thinks their kiss was a thing of the past.
Or will she? Will Courtney go along with it?
I'm going to read the next one to find out :)

Damn this is pretty wicked. Its a short prequel about the Real Ali and her budding romance with Emily. How Courtney come back and stole all of that and get Real Ali sent back to the Preserve. Sad and wicked . I can't decide who I hate more. Ali or Courtney. I think they both are equally wicked and crazy

Really enjoyable and lovely. It has a sad but also somehow hopeful ending. Well done, Ms. Shepard!

Pretty Little Love
PLOT: They walk alike. They talk alike. You can lose your mind. When SISTERS are two of a kind! This is the story of two PSYCH0, blond-haired, blue-eyed, twins by the name of Di-Larentis. One of them whose desperately trying to take over the other one's life and gets locked up in an institution as a result. But when the institute closes the family in order to keep their secret behind closed doors literally keeps their secret (child) behind closed doors. Then there's the other twin, the "IT" girl of Rosewood day. Able to cut you down with one single look and a press of a cellphone button on a social media page. So what happens when the "IT" girl falls head over heels with the dark-haired girl of her dreams and the psycho path's schemes for payback clash? DRAMA! DRAMA! DRAMA!

MY THOUGHTS: In a spontaneous buy I bought this not because I'm a big Emison shipper. I have nothing against them mind you and I'm fine with them together as a couple, I just was never one to get into PLL ships. I just shook my head in disbelief in how HARD people went for FICTIONAL CHARACTERS! But because it was the very night PLL was about to come to an end and Sara Shepard had announced on Twitter she had new material since I LOVED the books my curiosity got the better of me. I thought at least I'll get something new on Ali and Emily's relationship that the books didn't give, but this felt like a rehash of Ali's Pretty Little Lies. Now there were some bits that differed. We see Ali's attraction more initially to Emily. All the gushy, falling, emotional, stuff. We get the glances, the insecurity of what they think, the giddiness. We get a brief glimpse of Emily seeing a side to Ali no one else sees. Then we see that their first kiss really wasn't in (was it a tree house?) So there are hints of Ali and Emily sprinkled here and there but the main story was about Ali's crazy twin sister Courtney. And it's confusing because I was looking over my notes from that book (it's been a while since I read it) and in that one I think I remember Ali also saying Courtney attacked her and held her head underwater in the pool (which ironically the shows twist of Ali being held underwater as a baby by Charles and him getting sent away works nicely). Yet in my notes, I wrote Ali attacked Courtney and blamed it on her to get her locked up. I like "bitchy" Ali as a character yet it's always nice to see characters like this have an equal side to balance them out and kind of keep them in check. This is what I think Emily does for Ali. Sweet/Sour /Bitch/Angel Good/Evil. They all complement each other. Yet this just wasn't what I expected it to be. I didn't hate nor dislike it. It was just a little disappointed because it felt like I'd read this before with not much new given about the characters it was supposed to focus on. It just wasn't enough. It felt like writing a new edition of the same book and adding minor details to a story you've already told.

This first fanfic was amazing. I loved how Sara tangled it with her previous book "Ali's Pretty Little Lies" and how we saw Real Ali's perspective instead of Courtney's, just while being in love with Emily... It was the best!

Sara's way with words leaves me speechless and the Emison dynamic was clearly there, which we all love. I can't wait to start the next one!
