Rate this book
A grieving widow trying to find a new path forward. A missing young woman and a surprise visitor with nowhere to turn. Is a walk along the moonlit beach that promises a future of happiness a risk worth taking?

Lily is still making her way in her new career as an inn keeper in Driftwood Bay and training a hearing assistant dog. Along with those challenges, the young woman she agreed to take in is missing. Lily is positive she didn’t runaway, but has to travel for her mother’s memorial service three thousand miles away, fearing the worst.

As she struggles with the emotions stirred up by old losses, she and Mac, the veterinarian she’s been spending more and more time with, decide to take a trip together to the San Juan Islands. She’s worried about the ramifications of her decision, but her final guests of the season, a group of five widows from Vermont, provide Lily some much needed motherly advice.

The approaching holidays are especially hard, but her son will be coming to stay with her on his break from college and Lily is looking forward to spending a relaxing time with him, until unexpected family drama arrives at her doorstep. Her hopes for a peaceful holiday are clouded by angst and disappointment.

Will Lily be able to put the broken pieces of her life back together and risk the future a walk along the moonlit beach promises?

Good story, but repetitive. Lily is still grieving over the death of her husband and has problems moving forward with a new relationship. she also wants her son’s blessing with Max, the new man in her life. Much of Lily’s time is spent with her beloved dog, Fritz, and a puppy she is training to be a service dog for the hearing impaired. So, a lot of the book is her training the puppy. While I enjoyed the beach scenes and the characters, they have a lot of emotional baggage which detracted from my enjoyment of the story. Only 3 Stars.

Tammy L. Grace writes such wonderfully endearing stories about characters who become family and friends in bookdom. Moonlight Beach is another one of Ms. Grace's heartwarming reads that I became emotionally drawn into through the lives of Lily, Mel, Mac and of course the trio of golden retrievers, Fritz, Bodie and Sherlock. This is the continuing story of Lily and putting her life back together after the devastating loss of her beloved husband, Gary. How will she ever move on with such a gaping hole left in her heart? Lily is ever so grateful for her loyal companion, Fritz. "Lily, of all people, knew the power of a furry friend. The unconditional love and support they offered. The comfort of their warm body ....when you were scared and alone. The swish of their tail ....letting you know you were the most important person in their world." Friends, both human and furry, surround Lily in her struggle to find herself and piece her life together in the beautiful setting of Driftwood Bay.

Ms. Grace writes her characters, settings, and emotional scenes with true heart and perfection. When I open the cover of one of her books, I know the story will tug at every part of my heart because of this gift she has. When I laugh and cry, find myself visualizing being on the beach or taking a kayak ride on the bay, smelling and tasting the scrumptuous foods that somehow waft up from the pages...Ms. Grace has created an experience that I enjoy reading very much. Even the heart wrenching passages that cause my heart to hurt with the characters are filled with compassion. Here is a passage that spoke to me about promises in troubles:
"Nature is full of signs of resilience. The promise of spring after winter, the beauty in each season, the trust an animal places in me, even if he's come from an abusive situation. People, like nature, can be such inspiration. So many, after suffering unimaginable losses or illnesses, recover, and bloom again." This all crafted together made a great novel and Ms. Grace wrote such a good one in Moonlight Beach.

This book had such a heartwarming feel to it and I love the pup characters that add that and more to the story. This was a wonderful and pleasurable read. I want to thank Ms. Grace for the honor and privilege of spending time in the pages of this book. It was an escape that made my heart happy. It's certainly a five star read for me. All opinions and thoughts in this review are my heartfelt own.

Moonlight Beach is a heartwarming book about second chances and finding happiness. The characters are an endearing group who are learning how to move on, learning how to trust and open their hearts. I love books that feature dogs—they add a lightheartedness to any story, and bring comfort to characters when they require it. This is a cozy and touching novel that will provide readers a lovely place to escape to, with a lovely setting and characters to care about.

I hope you've pre-ordered MOONLIGHT BEACH and am so excited for it to release this week! This is the second in my Glass Beach Cottage Series and features the story of Lily, who moves across the country from Virginia to the coast of Washington after losing her husband. She and her faithful golden retriever, Fritz, set out to learn to be innkeepers on a beautiful, but run-down property her late uncle left her.

She is starting a new life and in the process agrees to train a puppy to be a hearing assistant dog. She also offers a homeless young woman a place to stay and takes her under her wing. MOONLIGHT BEACH picks up where BEACH HAVEN ended and continues Lily's story and her new friendship with the local veterinarian, Mac.

Early readers tell me it reminds them of the emotional books of Nicholas Sparks and Debbie Macomber, which thrills me to no end. I hope you'll consider reading the series and also invite you to my fun Prize Pack Giveaway to celebrate Moonlight Beach. Lots of fun prizes including a Kindle Fire 7 and a signed paperback of both books!

Moonlight Beach was an absolutely wonderful read. As soon as I picked it up, I was drawn into the story and fully vested in all of the character’s. I found out at the close of the boo that this book is second in a series, Glass Cottage Women’s fiction, and now I must go back and read more. However, this book read well as a stand-alone.

This is a story about healing, dealing with loss and guilt of moving on, and valuing the connections made along the way. The friendships are lovely and remind you of how nice it is to simply connect with others. The dogs were a beautiful part of the story and made me so smile so much.

In my opinion, if you enjoy curling up with a Nicholas Sparks and getting lost in a story that takes you on an emotional journey, Tammy L. Grace’s Moonlight Beach is the book for you. Grab a nice hot cup of tea, cozy up, and be prepared to feel inspired to embrace the good in the world!

One more thing, while this book wasn’t a holiday book, the scenes surrounding the holiday made it a perfect read for the week between Christmas and New Year!

NOTE: I received a copy of this book from the author. This is an honest and voluntary review.

FABULOUS! I’m totally and completely in LOVE! Moonlight Beach by Tammy L Grace is a book of many facets. I loved the characters including Fritz, Bodie and Sherlock the three Golden Retrievers. If you’ve read any of Tammy’s books, you know her characters are easy to fall in love with. Even the human ones like Lily, Mac and Mel.

This book is heavy on family relationships and all that they are. The ones you are born with and the ones that join you along life’s journey. Both are equally important and are needed in their own special way. I thank Tammy for reminding us of that.

Part of the book takes place at Christmas time although it is not specifically a Christmas story. I am blessed to have been able to read it at the holiday.

I was also reminded that a big part of life is to be of service to others. Giving of ourselves. Not money but, time, our hearts and caring for those that need our love and help. We can all find time in our lives to be an ear for someone, a shoulder to lean on or someone to pray for them. Sometimes, just knowing someone cares goes a long way.

This is the second book in the Beach Glass Cottage Series. Beach Haven was book one and book three is coming in late 2021 or early 2022. Moonlight Beach read well as a stand alone but, I’m definitely picking up Beach Haven and look forward to book three. I’m so in love with the characters and I want more of them. My advice to you… get these books read before book three comes out. I know you will love them a much as I do!

I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest review. Thank you.

This is the journey of Lily as she begins her transformation following the sudden death of her husband. Moving across the country, knowing no one, she takes a chance on starting over and rebuilding her life. Opening her heart and home to Mel, a withdrawn young woman living in a homeless shelter as well as Mac, a widowed veterinarian, Lily begins to move forward and love again. This engaging and realistic story includes characters from Hometown Harbor-one of my all time favorite series to read. Beautifully crafted!
I received this copy free from the author and am under no obligation to leave a review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am freely sharing my opinion.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing a review. This is the 2nd in the Glass Beach series and continues the story of Lily. As her relationship grows with Mac and she becomes more attached to Mel and the friends she has made since moving to Driftwood Bay, she also has to come to terms with some things in her own family. It was a delightful surprise when I realized that Mac and Lily were meeting the couples from the Hometown Harbor series. The dogs in the books are always a welcome addition to the stories. I have read every one of Tammy Grace’s books and I highly recommend them.

Moonlight Beach is the second book in Tammy L. Grace's Glass Beach Cottage series. This story of moving on after a huge loss comes with both human and canine characters, all of whom feel like your best friends. Devoted readers will also recognize crossover references to another of her series! This book can be read stand-alone, however, I prefer reading them in order. Get ready to lose yourself in the heartwarming continuation of Lily's story!

Wonderful follow up to book one as Lilly strengthens bonds with the other characters and moves toward a brighter future. If you enjoy new beginnings and new friendships as well as a little mystery and of course some wonderful furry friends you won't want to miss this read. I also love the cross over to friends in the Hometown Harbor series. Can't wait till book three !!!

DON’T MISS THIS SERIES!

Author Tammy L. Grace is back with MOONLIGHT BEACH (Glass Beach Cottage Book 2) and it does not disappoint! This book could be read as a stand alone but should be read in sequential order so that the reader may fully understand the characters. Grace created a wonderful cast of characters in Book 1 and she introduces a few others in Book 2. One is a young homeless girl named Mel that several people in Driftwood Bay have taken under their collective wings. Lily has agreed to offer Mel room and board in exchange for her helping clean the the Cottages. Lily’s life is also filled with her fur babies — her own Golden Retriever, Fritz, as well as the the Golden Retriever puppy, Bodie, the Support Dog that will soon be helping a young adult deaf man. Also, there’s Mac, the local Veterinarian and Lily’s growing love interest who has his own beautiful Golden as well as a menagerie of other animals he keeps on his farm. In the midst of all of this, Lily realizes she is beginning to find herself planted on solid ground again. She discovers a new found talent using sea glass to create pictures depicting something special to the recipient. This quote seems to sum up this book beautifully:

“As she had worked on the pieces for Mac and Mel, it struck her that much like her own life, she was taking bits of broken pieces of glass and putting them together to make something new, something beautiful. While the pieces would never resemble what they used to be, they were transformed into something different, something that would bring joy and happiness to her life. All those broken shapes, smoothed by the power of the sea, were essential and would live on in her new creations. Maybe it was the same way with her memories. She’d never have exactly what she had lost, but she could have something new and wonderful.“

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by the author/publisher. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.

Moonlight Beach by Tammy L. Grace is the second book in the Glass Beach Cottage Series. It is beautifully written, with perfect detailed description of the scenes so the reader can visualize the setting in such detail it’s as though seeing through the eyes of the characters.

Moonlight Beach continues to follow Lily, the main character in Beach Haven (the first novel in the Glass Beach Cottage Series), as she navigates life after the tragic loss of her husband Gary. In Beach Haven, you follow Lily as she moves across the country from her home in Washington D.C. to Driftwood Bay off of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, to revamp and run the Glass Beach Cottages she had inherited from her uncle. Moonlight Beach follows where Beach Haven left off, as you pick back up with the original characters as they forge on through life.

Lily’s story shows her strength and resiliency as she navigates her new life with its trials and triumphs. You get to know more about her friend Mac (a widower and the local veterinarian), and Mel (a homeless older teen who Lily has taken in) and see their friendships blossom. Lily not only wants to provide Mel a stable home but tries to prove to the young woman that she deserves to be loved and valued. Lily’s son Kevin is growing up, and she must come to peace with this natural course in life. To round out the family, Lily’s furry Golden Retriever companions Fritz and Bodie, and Mac’s golden Sherlock, are still front and center in this new book. The setting is late fall and through the holidays, so fell wonderfully in with my holiday reading, but can be read anytime though out the year.

I was happily surprised when Lily and Mac take a trip to the San Juan Islands where we meet up with the characters from Tammy Grace’s Hometown Harbor Series! If you haven’t read those, they are wonderful! Each book in the series follows one of the women in the small group of friends in midlife and gives insight into their lives and what brought them to Friday Harbor. This series if full of hope and shows there is still a chance at finding happiness and love later in life. It was like checking in on old friends.

This novel can be read as a standalone, but if you haven’t read the first book in the series, you might want to, so you can get more of the background for the opening of Moonlight Beach. This book was a great escape from reality during these trying times, and I highly recommend it, as well as all of Tammy Grace’s other novels. I have loved every single one of them!

Book Review: Moonlight Beach (Glass Beach Cottage Series Book 2) by author, Tammy L. Grace
ARC
Expected Release: February 4, 2021
#MountainPress

Author Tammy L. Grace has written an engaging story full of hope, happiness, and healing that will pull at the heart-strings with its multi faceted storyline of one woman's journey on to a brave new beginning in the picturesque setting of Driftwood Bay.

As Lily is faced with new challenges and life-altering decisions, she continues to move past the tragic loss of her husband and finds that the hopes for a brighter, more peaceful path may be more complicated than she once imagined. With a life now recreating itself she finds it may not be as simple as a stroll along the beach with its fresh air and calm breezes to set things right, but with a helping hand, friendly advice, and finding the strength to move forward, anything is possible.

With its rich descriptions, family dynamic, and life's surprises that test and tame with their sorrows and joys, Ms. Grace has created a narrative that brings us into a story which allows us to feel and experience by not only entertaining us, but inspiring us and reminding us of what truly is important, love, friendship and understanding.

I thank the author for my copy of Moonlight Bay~ a wonderful read that I found to be the perfect blend of heart and home.

Moonlight Beach was such an easy read filled with wonderful characters that immediately drew me in and made me want to curl up, enjoy the story, and forget everything else. This book is, above all, a book about growth, change, giving back, and accepting the curves life throws us. It's a good reminder, especially now, that we can adapt and move on. These lessons are shared in a sweet way.

I really felt for Mel and cheered her on as she grew and changed having found a wonderfully nurturing 'family' in Lily. As she learned to trust she blossomed and what a great change she experienced.

The relationship between Lily and Mac was encouraging because they took the time to get to know and learn each other's hearts. The dog training portion of the book was very interesting to me and along with themes of love, sharing, caring for others, and giving back to others, made this book so very heartwarming.

Moonlight Beach is a perfect read for when you want to settle in and forget the world for a while. You'll be transported and the fantastic setting is just another bonus! If you haven't checked out this series, do yourself a favor and pick it up!

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC at my request. All thoughts are my own and happily shared.

What a heartwarming and truly touching to my soul novel this is. Family qualms and life and love issues are presented throughout. Evoking tears more than a few times and telling us so many things that we all should try to remember in our lives.
This was a story about Lily’s emotional journey and I absolutely love the dogs that are in each of Tammy L Grace’s novels.
You do not want to miss this one.

Wonderful escape from our quarantine reality, a little mystery and a lot of wonderful friendships, I’m so happy that she blended in some characters from her Hometown Harbor Series, I missed them. It’s a good stand alone book but read Beach Haven the first book in the series first, you will not be disappointed.

This is the second of three books. I enjoy the characters and of course the dogs. In this book , Lily is settling in and so is Mel. There is a little action in that Mel goes missing for a few days. An acquaintance at the shelter thinks otherwise and implies Mel ran away. Thankfully , Jeff is the chief of police and he finds Mel had been kidnapped. But Mel being the smart girl she is, finds a way to get help. Mel returns but the experience has taken her many steps backward. she agrees to getting help which helps Mel tremendously. Lily’s son Kevin comes for a visit and Lily’s estranged sis, Wendy drops in unexpectedly and causes much havoc. But Wendy’s stay was temporary which everyone including the dogs were glad. Lily spends her first Holiday season there and is glad to have made new memories. Lily’s son Kevin has met a special girl at school and he’s invited to spend the New Year’s with her family skiing. Lily had to accept her son “leaving the nest” and make separate holiday memories. The book has a happy ending with more of a long term commitment from Dr. Mac. I can’t wait to see what new adventures happen in book 3, the last of the series. This book is a great feel good easy and very enjoyable reading.

A great part two to the Beach Cottage series. Lily is still
Struggling g to rebuild her life after the loss of her parents and her husband. She is making a life in the Driftwood Bay Area, where she inherited property from her Uncle

She continues to try to help a young woman, Mel who has no family and is recovering from a recent kidnapping. Right before the holidays her sister Wendy arrives. Wendy is self centered and seems to be unconcerned with the feelings of others. Can Lily move forward and find friends to develop relationships with? Will the local veterinarian Mac become more than a friend, and how will her son Kevin handle his mom’s new interests? What will happen with Wendy?

The author does a wonderful job describing the scenery in the area. Friendship develop and descriptions of foods paint a vivid picture. Especially around the holiday seaso. Also who could resist the details describing Fritz, lily’s dog and Bodie and dog she is training for a local hearing impaired young man.

Lily's story continues in book 2 of the series. The young woman Mel who she takes in seeks help after a tragic event and her mother estranged sister Wendy comes for a visit. She and Mac continue to build upon their friendship embracing a new relationship for both of them. The scenery of the Pacific Northwest continues to be presented and described perfectly by the author. Additionally, the characters come alive and you find yourself empathising with them .

Her son Kevin continues to enjoy college and has a romantic friend. His visit at Christmas is cut short when he leaves on a skiing trip. Again the book deals with feelings of love after death and the processing of grief, while opening up to a new and new exciting future.

The series is a continuous story so you do have to read them in order to get the most enjoyment. Now on to book 3!

Lily closes the Inn for the winter, Mel get another part time job at a coffee shop and goes to therapy twice a week. She really comes out of her shell and talks more, loved being in a family for Christmas and hugs Lily now.
Mac and Lily go to San Juan for a few days and loves being away. They are taking it slow so 2 rooms. They enjoy and spend lots of time together. Lilys son comes for thanksgiving it’s hard on Lily to see him so.
What I hated about the book, was Wendy, Lilys sister. Self absorbed good for nothing. All about her comes to stay with Lily when her husband is put in jail. Talks bad about the town the people she was just terrible and didn’t like reading about her…wonder if she will be in more, hope not.

Moonlight Beach by Tammy L. Grace is the second book in her Glass Beach Cottage Series. Even though this is the second book it can very well be read as a standalone but, I myself am going to go buy the first in this series. Ms. Grace has written a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. I did not want to put this book down. This is very well written and has well developed and likable characters. This is a very emotional and enjoyable story I laughed and I cried. I love the dogs that Ms. Grace has in all her books. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

I absolutely loved this book. My husband has a hearing dog and reading this book was like going through waiting for our beloved yellow lab who was raised by a Montana state prisoner. Yes, prisoners do amazing things with these dogs I wanted to compliment Ms. Grace on her very accurate depiction of the way these dogs are raised and trained to help the deaf and hearing impaired. Even some of the commands she uses are the same ones we used for our dog. Hurry, leave it, sit, stay, down...yes she has it right. Thank you for a wonderful book. I hope there will be another to continue the story. I want to see what happens to Mel and Kevin and how things turn out between Lily and Mac.

Nice Romance!

I enjoyed the first book of this series, and looking forward I to the next one. The way Tammy writes I feel as if I am right there with everyone.
I wish I had Lily's organizational skills. She can strip the sheets off a bed in one of the rentals, put on a load of wash, feed her puppies, take a shower, dress, take brownies out of the stove
AND be at her destination all within the hour. I'm exhausted just writing that all down!
Seriously, this is a pleasant book.
ENJOY!
Happy Reading!!

I loved this book. This is the 2nd in the series. Along with the characters from book one, we meet Lily's sister. She is a diva that has lost everything and doesn't quite get Lily's life. She is very self centered. She couldn't understand how Lily let Mel, a poor homeless girl, live with her. She doesn't realize that she is a poor homeless girl herself. Things get better by the end of the book, but I think it gets hairy in book #3. I just love the way Tammy Grace writes her novels. Her books are easy reads that keep the readers wanting more.

FriendshIp

I felt the loss of my husband as well in the story but friends make all the difference. Where would we be without sharing laughter, maybe some tea, hot cocoa, an of course coffee with our friends an the ones we meet along the way. We can't forget the puppy dogs they make the story. Love these books thanks for taking me away for a few hours enjoying every minute of them.

What the above states this book is about is what is is about. I love this continuation of the characters in the first book. Things get a little more exciting in this book plus we have a new character , Wendy, who is Lily's sister and she is something else and even the reason she showed up doesn't make her attitude towards Lily and her life change. She seems to be always putting Lily down. This is a VERY GOOD READ ALSO. Now I have to patiently wait on the next one.

GREAT STORY!

I really enjoyed this second book of The Glass Beach Cottage Series. I did not want to put this book down. Lily lost her husband and parents so close together that she had to move because there were to many memories and she needed to get away so she could heal from her losses. I definitely felt this book deserves more than five stars! Make sure you read the first book first.
Looking forward to reading the third book.
