By maintaining a focus on building students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, Deutsch Heute has become a classic among introductory German texts. Students learn grammar in a clear and concise format while being introduced to contemporary life and culture in German-speaking countries through cast of recurring characters. Familiar characters and the integration of all program components—workbook, video, and function-based activities—foster language learning and skill development. Easily manageable for two-semester courses, the text covers grammar in a logical sequence, leaving the future, subjunctive, and passive voices to the last two chapters.
As an American, that is now fluent in German, I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning German. However, like everything else in life, you CANNOT be lazy and expect to do well!
Textbook has a good flow, however I felt that some items were introduced out of order and that there was not enough grammar practice provided. I'd like to see clearer examples at the beginning of the exercises, in order to show students an example of what the exercise is looking for.
This is an introductory textbook, and is very good for someone who is completely new to the language. I feel that a more challenging/advanced textbook is needed for mastery of the language in non-introductory college courses. The grammar provided is a solid foundation, but the vocabulary is missing. The simple past should be introduced sooner and thus carried through the rest of the text with each introduction of a new verb.
این کتاب مقدماتی اما مفصل آموزش آلمانی(به زبان انگلیسی) رو با استاد و تو جمعی دوستانه خوندیم. شخصا شاید فقط با چنین قالبهایی حوصلهی زبان جدید یادگرفتن داشته باشم. به هر حال کتاب پرمایهایه، به خصوص در گرامر
