My new assignment at work: test out toys. Yup, that kind.

Well, technically, it’s to test the app that controls the toys remotely.

One problem? The showgirl who’s supposed to test the hardware (as in, the actual toys) joins a nunnery.

Another problem? This project is important to my Russian boss, the broody, mouthwateringly sexy Vlad, a.k.a. The Impaler.

There’s only one solut

Romantic comedies are totally my jam! I really enjoyed Fanny and Vlad's story. Hard Code was super cute, a bit nerdy, kind of silly, and just all around entertaining!

Vlad the Impaler (which I loved Fanny calling hi) is a nerdy, sexy hero. His family was a riot with the Russian craziness you get to experience. I like that you can't figure him out in the beginning. I especially like who he became as he was slowly revealed.

Fanny was jut hilarious. First of all, her name is Fanny Pack! For real! She
Such a fun, smexy read with plenty of geeky references.

Fanny was so easy to like. She’s got aspirations but along the way she’s involved in the testing of toys for the bedroom that are being manipulated by someone elsewhere. Things get a little crazy when her test subject can’t follow through and that’s when this story really takes a jump into smexy shenanigans.

Since we don’t get Vlad’s point of view, I wasn’t able to connect with him, but I enjoyed imagining what he was thinking or why he was

***If I completely ignore the humor aspect of the book.... or if majority of the humor was cut out, this book might not have been too bad.
This book represents why I rarely read Rom-Com’s anymore. I guess I take Rom-Com’s a bit more seriously than should be.
I like Rom Com’s that are truly, surprisingly & sometimes shockingly Funny and is placed in correct areas. Rather than Cliche, Predictable, Cringe & Cheesy Humor and is used all over the place.

I'm a huge Anna Zaires fan so when I heard she was writing a rom-com I was intrigued to see how that'd play out because I adore the dark aspect of her books. I was really pleasantly surprised with this one.

Fanny Pack (yes ... thats really her name) is a developer at a Tech company and is tasked with testing out products of the *coughcough* pleasure variety for an important client. Mishaps and a bailing ex-hooker-turned-nun lead Fanny to testing out the products with the CEO of the company himsel

Anna Zaires and Dima Zales never disappoint. The debut of their new pen is a feel good, steamy romance so hilarious reading it counts as an ab work out. I laughed harder than I had in months, and thought I might die of second hand embarrassment several times. A beautiful romcom, thoroughly delightful.
A tale perfect for nerds! You don’t even need to understand coding, everything is so well explained.
I want to find myself a Vlad now 😩

I was curious about this story, because I love this author's other books so much, and took a chance on this genre with her. And I am SO glad I did.
This book was steamy, the storyline was fabulous, and I have not laughed so hard in a long time reading a book. There was sarcastic wit, interesting and well developed characters, but most of the scenes were very, very hot and adventurous.
I highly recommend this read!

Definitely different from the work Anna Zaires is famous for. This was a cute story, though half the coding stuff mentioned was quite boring as it's not my field. There were some laugh out loud moments but some jokes fell flat.

All in all it was interesting enough for me to finish this one in one sitting.

On to the next.📖

Misha Bell certainly entered the rom-com field with a programmers dream! A quirky, fun to read book.

Nerf guns, guinea pigs, pleasure toys, Russian foods and vodka. Just to name a few, make up this light, page turning book.

If you are into rom-com's, definitely check this one out!!!

This was so good I finished it in one sitting! I literally could not put it down. Hard Code was sexy, funny, & an all around enjoyable read.

Fanny and Vlads chemistry was off the charts and I loved watching them navigate funny awkward situations with good humor.

Definitely a feel good book I needed for 2021.

*huge thank you to the author for an e-arc*

HARD CODE by Misha Bell (aka Anna Zaires and Dima Zales) is a fun escape with everything a person could want in a Rom-Com and more. There is quirkiness, nerdiness, dorkiness, and over-the-top crazy - but it all works to create a unique take on the employee/boss relationship.

When your boss is joked to be a reclusive vampire, the last thing you want to do is cross paths with him. The next last thing you want is to be assigned his pet project and have to meet with him on a regular basis. Sometimes,

Deliciously dirty and hotly embarrassing

Misha Bell is the pen name of author couple Anna Zaires and Dima Zales. Under her own name Anna writes mostly dark romance and dark fantasy romance, although she has recently branched out into contemporary romance with the Titan duet. Dima Zales writes sci-fi, but I have only read his urban fantasy series Sasha Urban. So for their foray into rom-com they decided to adopt a new pen name.

The story is written in historical present and told in 1st person from

PHENOMENAL romance, extraordinarily funny, The MUST-READ romance of 2021!
HARD CODE is EVERYTHING its authors have promised and MORE! HARD CODE’s subtitle reads, “A Laugh-Out-Loud Workplace Romantic Comedy” which is a perfect representation, but I want to tell you more. First, I haven’t laughed so hard in ages. Imagine this 70-year-old reading a book with the picture of a hot guy on the cover laughing uproariously at a romance?? Yes, I caught a few stares, but even more, smiles were sent my way.

I really enjoyed this book so much! Many times I found myself laughing at Fanny's antics and thoughts. The book proved to be a fun escape from everyday life.

Fanny is eager to move up the chain at her workplace and agrees to test an app that involves the use of adult toys. When her tester decides to become a nun, Fanny is left scrambling to find another couple to test the toys using the app. At the urging of her friend, she decides to be one of the testers, now all she needs to do is find a partn

This book makes coding sexy! I absolutely loved this book. It was funny, raunchy, and sweet with lots of slow burn chemistry that makes you go crazy. Fanny, QA analysts with a penchant for quirky nicknames, is chosen to test out a new sex toy app and products. Things don’t go the way she thought, so she enlists the help of Vlad, her sexy, intense and silent Russian boss. They have off the charts chemistry and try to ignore it, but soon their attraction for each other wins out and they get each o ...more

Who doesn't love a Romantic Comedy? Everybody needs a good giggle (especially nowadays) and Misha Bell has a book full of them!...of giggles...and belly laughs...and snort-water-up-your-nose laughs...and full on gasping-for-breath laughs...and innuendoes...and sexy has IT ALL!!

We have Fanny who is a coding nerd who currently works as a tester, only this time it's not a new game she's testing - it's sex toys! A whole suitcase full of them!! And considering she's quite the quiet quirky

Let me just say that when I read the blurb for this book and saw the authors, it was an automatic download. This is one witty romantic comedy from start to finish with elements of a Dracula-esque character thrown into the mix. Fanny works for Binary Birch and she has been tasked with testing some adult intimate toys which brings her in contact with Vlad, the CEO of the company. Everything has been planned out but when complications arise and the intended subject hired to use the produc

OK, I'll admit it, I wanted to read this book completely based on the author (a pen name for Dima Zales and Anna Zaires), and I wouldn't have likely selected it otherwise. I usually find contemporary rom-com a bit fluffy for my taste and avoid it unless someone makes me read it. If I had passed it up, I would have missed out. While the humor often veered into slap-stick territory, there is so much smart humor here. From the interior dialogue of our heroine, to Russian gourmet "treats" to nerd te ...more

This book went back and forth in enjoyment for me, I would enjoy some chapters or segments quite a bit, then others not so much. I was in the mood for something lighter, and fast-paced when I read this one, which worked out well as this book reads quickly and doesn't take itself too seriously. There are a lot of different kinds of humor in this book, though the slapstick stands out a little, for better or worse depending on individual view. The sex toy testing episodes/sexual encounters, are sho ...more

This is such a fun story Fanny and Vlad are so funny and awkward but their chemistry is pretty hot at the same time. I loved everything about them from their off beat senses of humor to Vlad's matrix wardrobe obsession and Fanny's internal monologues are hysterical. Despite the title and this book being tongue in cheek, it manages to do so without being overly dirty it's totally smoking hot while not being overly smutty. I personally loved how Vlad is such a multifaceted character, he is a stern ...more

You have got to read this phenomenal romantic comedy! I absolutely loved this hilarious and well written novel! The book features Fanny, a computer coder and program researcher, and Vlad (The Impaler) who assigns her to a special project involving sex toys which requires an internet app. When her research subject is unable to participate in the research, Fanny finds she must participate in the research as the subject. Hard Code is the first book under the pen name of Misha Bell (aka Anna Zaires and Dima Zales), who are super accomplished authors of Dark Romance, Urban Fantasy and Paranormal books. This is a romantic comedy story about a coder / product tester named Fanny and her hot boss Vlad. Get ready to start laughing your socks off. There were times I could not stop laughing (out loud) at the situations Fanny got herself into, at her inner dialogue and what came out of her mouth. The interactions between ...more

This was such an enjoyable read! Seriously, certain scenes will have you cracking up. I love that the characters do and say funny things without even trying. Unintentional humor is the best, and I definitely belly laughed while reading certain scenes. I love that it's not your typical romantic-comedy, boy and girl meet, hate each other, exchange a few jabs and then end up falling in love. Those are ok, but this one is well-written, raunchy, and absolutely hilarious. Reading the plot had me insta ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this book as an entertaining escape for a few hours. The characters were engaging and fairly well fleshed out and the scenes seemed believable for the genre. The sexy bits were good fun, even if they may me blush a bit, but that's just me. :) Be prepared for a bit of excessive blushing by the heroine, though luckily that gets to be less cringy over time. Again, that's just me, in the end, I don't believe it did the character or story any disservice at all.

All in all a fun fr

Romantic comedy is not my favourite genre, but I really enjoyed Anna Zaires' previous works and picked this one up for that reason.

I work in software development and it's seldom that novels featuring IT people manage to portray the field realistically, especially in romance, so I really appreciate that this novel got it right with so many of the details. I understand one of the authors is a former programmer so that explains it. Big thumbs up for that. But also the characters are a lot of fun. T

Not what you usually expect from this author but it does not disappoint.
Light hearted and refreshing rom com which has an akward, ex boyfriend bashed heroine named Fanny Pack of all things. The name alone gives you an idea of the comedy but also the genious of writing this story.
Enter right Mr McDreaming Vlad 'the Impaler ' and the instruction to test drive some virtual sex toys then you can imagine that this is going to be an interesting ride.

This story is so funny! I had to stop at certain parts because I was laughing so hard. So warning, you shouldn’t be eating or drinking while reading this book or you’ll be spitting up your drinks and choking on your food from laughing so hard. And I love that Fanny and Vlad are both “super-geeks” programmer and big fans of The Matrix because I’m a big fan of that movie and a programmer by trade too.
