Out of sight, out of mind.
I’d been running for so long, I didn’t have anyone to leave behind.
I liked it that way. No strings, no responsibilities, no one to even remember my name when I was gone.
The world was my oyster and I was sucking it down.
Until a dark night behind a bar when a stranger saves my life and pays a price that should have been mine to give.

After reading 'Welcome to the Darkside' earlier this month, I'm determined to read all the books in this series. The author had the reading order in her FB group, so I decided to check out the first book she recommends to read, Out of Sight. This one was really short, but I enjoyed it. It follows Cyclops and Tayline's first meeting. I don't remember seeing them in the second book (which is the only one I've read) but I'm sure they're in more of the series and I can't wait to read more!

This is the short story of Cyclops and Tayline, two side character in The Fallen Men Series. It is set BEFORE the events of Lessons in Corruption (The Fallen Men, #1). It was originally published in 'O Come All Ye Sinners' Christmas MC romance anthology and is now only available when you sign up for my newsletter.

“You ever want a home?” he finally asked.
His words cracked open the lid of desire I’d kept screwed tightly shut in the center of my chest.
I took a deep breath and let it out. “Yeah, sure. You?”
“Home can be a person or place, never found either worth stayin’ put for,” he replied, feeling me stiffen beside him. “Thinkin’ that’s changed now.”

I like to start series by reading the prequel whenever possible, and I've been meaning to get into this one for a while so here we are.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the story was, especially considering the length. From the first page I was invested, it's as action packed as a 50 page novella could be.

Tayline and Cyclops have a lot of chemistry which was apparent from the second their eyes met for the first time, and I enjoyed reading about them. I think they also appear in the main series, but I'll have to wait and see.

Also, there was one line about European men eating pizza with a knife and fork...I'm European (albeit not a man) and I eat pizza with utensils so...that checks out. I know lots of people who do too.

But I thought it was funny how that's not considered manly. And Tayline had some interesting opinions on Europeans in general, but considering she only went to like 3 countries I can't blame her.

Anywayyyy I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Two nomads just going through the motions of living. No friends, no family and no one to love.

Tayline has been on her own a long time. One rash decision and she ends up in a bad situation. It’s always about being in the right place, at the right time. Tayline tries to save herself but when things get bad a biker steps in to help out. Life as they know it is all about to change.

An instant connection and a whole lot of heat! This is a quick and dirty read that is pure indulgence. Matt and Tayline are two wandering souls who finally find their home in one another. Enjoy this holiday treat!

Tayline was always running away from something since she was a child. One day, when she decided to hitchhike, she got into trouble as the people she hitchhiked with, abducted her as well as some other girls to sell them for prostitution. She saw Matt when the abductors took them to a bar. He jumped to save her but ended up losing his one eye. Zeus, the Prez of The Fallen MC, came to ask about the human traffickers and offered both of them a place in the MC. With the bikers help, they finally got rid of those human traffickers and joined the MC.

I loved it. It was a cute short insta-love story about Tayline and Cyclops. They're introduced in Lessons in Corruption for the first time as Tayline and Cress were colleagues and Cyclops was a brother of The Fallen MC. I was really curious about how they ended up together. So, when I saw that they had a book and I'll get this it free if I sign up for Giana Darling Newsletter, I instantly went to sign up and devoured their story when I got it. It's so sweet! Definitely give this book a try.

this was perfect damn. I usually hate insta-love, but it felt so natural here. And I’m happy I got to know more about Cyclops, he was surprisingly sweet!! I also love reading short stories about how someone came into a MC. They are always so interesting and special to read!!

Goodreads.. why are my old reviews getting deleted?
I read and reviewed this months ago. So glad I save my reviews.
Anyway:

👁 Review 👁

“I could feel his eyes on me, the terrifying, glorious weight of his intent and intense affection behind them, the heavy brand of his hand over my heart and the thick surge of him between my thighs. He was everywhere; in me, on me, around me. In that moment, he was mine.”
🏍
A perfect and short novella about Tayline and Cy. And how Cy/Cyclone or Matt, became Cy.
It also shows how he became part of The Fallen.
This was a fun and steamy short novella. It was perfect and super fun to see a bit of history of secondary characters!!
🏍 5/5

Would have loved a longer story for these two, but I thought for the shortness of the novella it was great! It does make me even more interested in how Tayline became a teacher by the time we see her in Lessons in Corruption (if I'm remembering that correctly). In that book it made it seem like her and Cyclops weren't very serious/had only just started dating. I would have to reread Lessons in Corruption again to really understand that I guess.

I thought Cyclops and Tayline were a really cute couple. Good steam for a short novella.

Giana is one of the sweetest authors I’ve ever met in this community so I planned to read all her books.
With only this series and the new duet left, I was thinking about picking TFM after reading Dante and Elena’s story but I just couldn’t wait... so here we go.

I have to say that I’m not a big fan of MC books; what I mean is that I like the world but I had a phase when I read a lot of MC books (yes, after watching SOA 🤷‍♀️) but I felt something missing in most of the books, either for the plot or the writing.
Anyway, since this is Giana’s most famous series and I really liked her writing before, I was really curious and excited to pick the books up.

I’m usually not a big fan of insta lust/love but since this is a novella (from Giana’s newsletter) I let it slide.
Matt “Cyclops” and Tayline had a lot in common and I loved to see them find each other and finally feeling like they found a home. Now I’m curious to see more references of them in the other books of the series.

This was for sure a good introduction to TFM series and I’ll be picking the rest of the books soon. I’m so freaking excited.

▬ 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: insta lust, biker
▬ 𝐭𝐰: violence, human trafficking

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 / 🌶🌶🌶

If you’re thinking of starting the Fallen Men series then I highly recommend you read this short novella first!
It has 2 key characters who play a part in the storyline of Lessons in Corruption plus throughout the series and I wish I had of read this first so I knew who they were when they were mentioned!

Honestly, it’s the perfect introduction into the MC world of all things Fallen Men.
There’s drama, violence, sex and best of all the instant connection of love and belonging between two people who least expect it, who quite literally fight until the very end for each other.

I quickly fell for Matt aka Cyclops. To be completely honest I haven’t met a character of the Fallen Men that I haven’t liked yet! I’m having to continuously remind myself they’re fictional 🥲

Do yourself a favor and read this!
Is super short and can also be read as a stand-alone if you aren’t ready to commit to reading the series just yet!

This is a free short story about Cyclops and Tayline which if you read any of the fallen books you are familiar with these characters. It tells us how they met. I think this could have been an entire book instead of a short story, Loved Cyclops and Tayline, and how intense and fast their relationship started.

I normally don't review books like this because they're too short to have too much to review on but this one is the exception. I have no clue how Giana created so much plot in a mere 60 page novella but she did. I loved Tayline and Matt (cyclops) so much when I read Lessons in Corruption, so when I found out there was a novella for them I was so excited. AND this was even better than I hoped, I was ready for scraps but this was a whole entire backstory/love story and I ate it up!! I love that I got to see how Cyclops and Tayline ended up with the Fallen MC.

Everything about their dynamic just made me feel so much love for them. They were perfect for each-other, "like recognizes like" and all. I fell more and more in love with them every new tidbit of their life that they revealed. & I loved how aligned their backstories were and how fiercely they protected each-other. Rough around the edges but soft for each-other.

"I knew I'd kill a thousand more men if it meant keeping him with me for eternity."

And there's a scene where she takes care of his injuries?? SOLD. 🤭

Here's to hoping they get a book, or I at least get more of their story in the background of other books because I just love the fierce found family aspect of their relationship. 🩶

[ 3.75 stars ] after i read lessons in corruption, i wanted to know more about tayline because i really liked her character but i didn’t find out about this novella until way after i’d finished the series. for some reason i couldn’t get my hands on it but giana, being the goddess she is, posted about it today after i asked on her instagram live!

anyway, i loved it so much! it was so cute and the smut was god tier (per usual), it did come off as a bit insta-lovey but that was kinda expected because it’s so short and i know how giana paces her romances, but i enjoyed it nonetheless! seeing zeus this early on was very nice and it’s honestly just making me more and more ready for fallen men book #7 because i honestly can’t wait to get back to the gang and read all about this new couple :)

Well, this was a pleasant surprise prequel novella about a couple before they got to be a part of the Fallen.
After I read Inked in Lies, someone asked me if I had read this one. I had no idea about it, so I signed up for Giana’s newsletter and received it there, since that is the only way you can get it. It’s the story of how Tayline and Cyclops met and it is pretty crazy but perfect for two people that were never attached to anywhere, anyone.
These two go in, guns blazing and connect right away. And then they find a home.
Wish we got more of their story, but it does set up the rest of the series well, or even to go in later to get an extra treat works too. A good addition, but I really could've used more.

Tayline and Cyclops’s story, which I didn’t realize I needed until I read it. Just a short and to the point novella, that gives us their backstory. Typical Fallen Men book (which isn’t a bad thing lol) but we also get the typical plot holes, grammatical and spelling errors along with it 🙃 So, par for the course lol. The only real issue I have is WHY THE FUCK DID SHE NAME HIM MATT BRODERICK?! Of all the fucking names you go with that one?! Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? I mean COME ON! Ugh.

Anyway lol. I do think this warrants reading and is a nice piece to the backstory puzzle.

Ahhh we love a short novella!! I loved the way these two characters immediately became so protective of each other! It was immediately ride or die! Also the scene where she looks after his wounds!🤭 I can’t wait to see more of Tayline and Matt (Cyclops) throughout the series!

Favourite quotes:
“I knew I’d kill a thousand more men if it meant keeping him with me for eternity”

“Home can be a person or place, never found either worth stayin’ put for, thinkin’ that’s changed now.”

5⭐️

This was a really great kick off to their series. But now that I am 6 books into the series I’m really disappointed because we hardly see Tay and Cy. I loved their story and connection and would have loved to have this be a whole book.

But definitely give this a quick read if you’re into the series.

There are 2 spicy scenes in it. 🫠

man, if only we got a full book of tay and cy’s story… I could already foresee them being a favorite couple of mine just from this little novella!!

Tayline was a badass and this just made me love her even more. honestly the shorty story of them meeting, connecting and being welcomed into the fallen mc was perfect.

This was a great start to the Fallen Men series. It was a super short and fast read that introduced you into the mad world of Fallen MC. Tayline and Cyclops (Matt) have such a great instant connection and tons of heat. As two runaways, they are able to instantly feel safe with one another, at home. I highly recommend you start reading with this and then catching up!
