A.M. Geever is the award-winning author of The Undead Age and Steel City Apocalypse zombie apocalypse adventures. She also writes gritty post-collapse fiction in her Fire in the Sky series, where a solar flare brings modern civilization to its knees. A sci-fi enthusiast who dreamed of Starfleet command, she loves to write about impossible choices, no-win scenarios, and bad behavior. She shares her home with her husband, two cats with impeccable manners, and a pair of Blue Heeler/Catahoula hellhounds who have two speeds: fast and snuggle.
There were great characters and really solid action that was tight and breathtaking. It just went too fast to reach the end. In all an excellent ad for the series.
Different sometimes overdescribed but readable. Good explanation of blind panic. Curious to see 10 years later. Maybe I have read too many zombie books, this was a bit samey.
The Undead Age: Origin Stories starts off with a bang with zombies everywhere. The Undead Age: Origin Stories introduces us to a whole new set of characters as they witness the zombie apocalypse for the first time. We get to see how the zombie apocalypse started for all these wonderful characters.
We get to see their first experience with zombies as the people they know and care about are being chased by people who have become raging lunatics, running around chasing people and trying to eat them.
We get to watch Father Walter Brennan and visiting assistant professor as they try to save a school full of students from being eaten by their fellow students who are now raging lunatics.
We get to watch as student Miranda and her friends come up with a plan to escape all the raging lunatics that use to be their friends and neighbors in their dorm. Miranda is so afraid she almost shuts down but her friends Karen and Sam keep talking to her and trying their best to keep her safe. But when the time comes Miranda is way stronger than she ever knew she was and she really came through for Karen.
These are just a couple of the characters that we are introduced to. Oh, there are more wonderful characters and stories. I love zombies and sorely enjoyed reading The Undead Age: Origin Stories and getting to know all the characters. I can’t wait to dive into the first book Love in an Undead Age in the Undead Age Series. I can’t wait to see where Love in an Undead Age takes the story next.
The Undead Age: Origin Stories is a great no a fantastic start to a new world of zombies. There were zombies from beginning to end. There may not have been a zombie killing in each story but there was plenty of action that made up for it. I can’t wait to read more in this world and get to know each and every one of these characters.
The Undead Age: Origin Stories may be a short read but let me tell you it sure does pack a lot of punch. I only had one complaint about the whole story and that is that it is not long enough. I need more and I need it now, please.
I would definitely recommend this fantastic zombie story to all zombie fans!
I was given a copy of this novella by the author in the hope of an honest review so here it is. I can’t make up my mind if I like Zombie stories or not but I do think that I will give this author another try. She writes in an easy going style describing characters, places and situations so clearly that you feel involved in the story rather than just reading about it. It’s rather scary to be honest or maybe I just have an overactive imagination. Whatever an author has to be good to get me so involved as to create these feelings in me. If you like a good well written zombie story, I suggest you give this a try. I will certainly follow this up with “Love in an Undead Age” which follows some of the characters from this novella.
Wanted a quick read and it was quick! The story doesn't end! This is just a tease! Have to buy the next book and probably the next one! Three books in the series and I won't be reading the next two!
