Fast pace steamy novella!! An okay read for when you can't sleep.
Vincent is a hitman for the mob is stalking his next door neighbor, he won't make a move but he can watch her from afar and enjoy his twisted obession. And he makes a choice to see her in person one time and he'll cut himself off no more stalking 🤣. So when Faith's mom invites him over for Christmas cookies and try to get laid he goes over but doesn't even give the mom a glance he puts her in her place many times. He's only there for his Christmas angel. As for his angel Faith has been lasting after him to but knows he won't see her that way but she always feels like she's being watched.. secretly hoping it's Vince..
But be pushes her away he won't give in.. and thats why it's sucks I wanted him to be more alpha but he doesn't do anything until almost the end when his job crashes and tries to take away his woman.

I liked the novel, maybe not much was missing in terms of ingenuity in sex. But I liked those slow steps, this tension between the heroes before he made the heroine his.
The heroine is a virgin. Hero - as I understand it, he has not been with anyone for a long time, there is almost nothing about him in this regard. The only thing that I really didn’t like was the fact that the heroine recalled that during her school years she gave her then-boyfriend a blowjob and swallowed sperm, I stopped reading at that moment, and only the next day I continued to read. I think it was possible to limit the experience of the heroine to manual caresses.
I will give five stars, because as I understand it, this is the author's first book after a long break, and in general I liked the novel, I hope everything will be fine in her next books!

Steamy short read set around Christmas with a big handsome hero and his innocent little obsession.

OTT romance between hitman mob and innocent naive next-door neighbour. The story was short, straight to the point and not much of a dramatic flair; just a bit overdramatic supporting characters surrounding the h. Gotta warn though, the H had borderline possessive characteristic with stalker tendency.

This book was steamy hot but I think that the story wasn’t fleshed out enough for me.

Faith has a big crush on Vincent and she was quite attracted to him from the start. This book was very instalove to me. I liked Faith and Vincent but I wish this had been a longer book. I wanted to know more about Vincent and how he became a hitman.
I wish this book had been much longer and more action and more steamy moments. This should have been a novel instead of a short story.

A dark, age difference romance. New neighbour - Vincent has an infatuation with Faith (FMC) who lives next door. Only the age difference, faith's mother and his job bring on complications though. Yes this book is dark in places & Vincent's obsession with Faith is borderline stalker-ish. In the same breath i do see that he actually cares for Faith in his own way. I can see that some readers might not like some of the content in this book but for me i actually liked their relationship and i wanted them to get their HEA ending. A short read but a good one

Oh, I can already tell I’m going to enjoy the stories by this author. It’s a little dark but on the lighter side and just right. Faith and Vincent are practically obsessed with each other and it takes her being in danger for him to finally give in. It’s steamy and boy does it keep you on edge. It also has some danger to help her your adrenaline running and now I need more!

Christmas Obsession is steamy standalone full-length romance with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a happily-ever-after. The story is well written with world building characters and a complex storyline that captures the reader attention from the first chapter and keeps you invested in the story and characters and keep turning the pages until the beautiful HEA. Vincent is a hitman for the mob boss Tony Fontana. He had just did a hit on head of the Polack family and had to lay low for a while. A routine that's used by hitmen. He went to one of the Fontanas safe house in the suburbs. A modern suburban house, which suitable for a family of three or four. Vincent loss both of his parents at sixteen years old in a car accident while heading home from a restaurant after getting some take-out food for the family. It was the nephew of Tony Fontana, Frederico Fontana who kill them after driving into their car after he ran the red light killing them on impact. He was high off a cocaine. The next day Tony showed up to Vincent house and offered him a deal that if he never goes to the police that he would protect him and provide for him for the rest of his life. He later became the hitman for Tony that was twelve years ago.
Faith was Vincent next door neighbor and since moving in he had became obsessed with the petite blue-eyed nineteen year old teenager. He's so obsessed that he knows everything about her, from what time she gets up in the morning to which school she goes to and the time that she's back home from school each day. He knows that it is wrong and he can't have her in his life because of his profession and his darkness. He doesn't want to scully her up, so all he could do his watch from a far. Faith is a beautiful girl who's unloved and dreams of someone taking her out of her situation and takes her of her and control her body so she can submit to them. She spends her free time each day with her nose in an erotic book and pictures herself as the characters that she's reading about. He threatened him and told him to leave and went upstairs and got Faith and took her to his home. He tried not to touch her but when their desire heighten and Faith asked him to take her virginity he couldn't deny her because he had dreamed of that day for a long time. They had just finished and was basking in the ambience when his front door burst open. As it turns out Rick had kept his promise to make Vincent pay and he wanted Faith. Vincent knows that his boss would not forgive him for killing his brother but he didn't care because he wasn't going to let him have her. Killed him and they got out of town to a another state where he started to work for another mafia family who value family and the life of women unlike Tony Fontana. The was happy and they got their HEA.

I managed to snag Christmas Obsession: A Stalker Romance free as part of a stuff your kindle day not too long ago. I'd like to preface this by saying that I have never read any of Darcy Rose's books until now. However, her writing style has me definitely wanting to read more. I will admit, I had absolutely no idea what to expect other than what the title suggests, it being a stalker romance, and of course based around Christmas.
I absolutely loved that Darcy had each chapter flip back and forth between the main characters Faith and Vincent. The way that Darcy writes, has you almost visualizing the story as if it was a movie and not a novella. I loved the story line but I definitely think there could have been more to Vincent's. With Faith, you find out that she hasn't had the easiest life living with her mom and a little more of her background, but Vincent's just explains his job and how he came to have that job. The descriptors for the smut portion is outstanding but their first sexual encounter seemed almost rushed and then next you know you are at the Epilogue.
The only other thing that wasn't really a favorite of mine for this story, is that there is hardly any Christmas. Like yes, there's mention of a Christmas tree, of snow, and of baking holiday cookies but I feel that Darcy could've added a little more to the Christmas aspect like decorating the tree or doing Christmas time activities.
If you are looking for a short, slightly Christmas-y smut book, then look no further! Darcy has written the perfect to get you closer to the Christmas spirit while unwrapping a not so nice Christmas present ;).

I participated in "stuff your Kindle day" on November 1st and grabbed many Christmas novellas for free, including this one. It seemed perfect for December, but my rating reflects my disappointment. Here's why:
In hindsight, I should've researched the tropes more, even though I read the author's Goodreads summary. Not being a fan of the stalker trope, I should have understood that a book titled "Christmas Obsession: a stalker novel" wouldn't have been my cup of tea, MY BAD!
But, in my defense, it seemed similar to many other Christmas novels I've read in the past or are on my TBR, so I was intrigued to see how this book would unfold.
Although I know that the MMC is supposed to be a stalker, I found him way to creepy. I felt uncomfortable most of the time and the relationship just felt so incredibly wrong. I honestly don’t really mind the big age gap between the MFC and the MMC, but it was everything else that bothered me.
The fact that Faith was surrounded by so many bad people, constantly hit on by awful guys, just felt like a way to "redeem" Vincent, who was always ready to save our main female character. While it's commendable, am I supposed to root for them when he's a literal stalker who installed cameras in her room and watches her constantly?
And then, the nonchalant reaction of the main female character to discovering the cameras just made everything feel off.
Also, despite the Christmas setting, there was a lack of holiday vibes, making it seem unrelated to the festive season.
I understand it's fictional, and some enjoy these tropes, but personally, I couldn’t get into it.

I understand it's fictional, and some enjoy these tropes, but personally, I couldn’t get into it.

My rating: two stars
Oh man, as much I wanted to love this novel, I just couldn’t.
Im trying to be more festive this year, and decided to do “Stuff your kindle day” Christmas edition, and this was an option.
The story wasn’t fleshed out enough, it doesn’t have much to do with Christmas other than taking place in December. The ending made no sense, I won’t say exactly what it is to avoid spoilers, but it left me scratching my head. I feel like the underdeveloped plot and characters didn’t let me find the appeal or do justice to actions done by the MMC.
Im a huge fan of age-gap, mafia/hitmen books but this one just had me full on cringing and full of ick. I mean, installing cameras in her room so he watch her touch herself, normally this is fine with me, I’ve read plenty of books like this but the writing just made it creepy.
Also, Faith’s mother is so annoying and almost made me DNF within the first couple chapters, but I always hate doing that and carried on.
Maybe I just have high standards due to my go-to insta-love authors, maybe this book just wasn’t for me. This has such great potential if a full length novel, but alas that is not the case.
