Frog and Ball

Rate this book
A frog, a magic spell book, and one big, angry yellow ball. What could go wrong? Everything in this hilarious early reader comic.

Bee Bop Tiffle Dunk! Bam Bog Boo Bop! None of the magic spells in Frog's magic spell book will work on the deflated ball he found. Frustrated, Frog kicks the ball and watches as it flies up in the air and gets bigger and bigger and then as it comes back--uh, oh! Frog tries to outrun, trick, and hide from the ball in the library but the ball always finds him--even if it means knocking down bookshelves, ruining a puppet show, and sending papers flying everywhere!

Author-illustrator Kathy Caple has created a hilarious story for young readers filled with slapstick humor and a healthy dose of be careful what you wish for. With a variety of panel sizes and styles, there is much here for kids to pore over and return to again and again.

I Like to Read Comics are created for kids just learning to read. Sequential art and simple text--and a powerful relationship between the two--are perfect for developing readers.

Graphic Novel
Fun story where frog inflates a ball that then chases him all over town including through the library.
Readers will appreciate the physical humor.

I thought this children's book offers a cute and whimsical story perfect for younger readers. While the colorful illustrations and charming characters are sure to capture the imaginations of young children, the storyline itself may lack depth for older readers. Though enjoyable, the simplicity of the plot might not fully engage older children or adults seeking more complexity in their reading. Overall, this was a charming read that will enchant younger audiences with its adorable characters and playful narrative.

Not sure if this book is supposed to prove that magic causes chaos but I was a little iffy about it. I love frogs so I picked it up from the library. Frog does magic on a flat ball and makes the ball chase him. It destroys everything in it's path, including the library...that right there is a no-no for me 🤣🤣 The ending was eh as well. I wouldn't read this to kids.

When Frog uses a magic spell to reinflate a ball, he brings it to life, where it goes causing chaos throughout the library and town. A lot of repetition and simple word that makes it great for beginning readers/kindergarteners.
