A great, easy to read, quick story.
Was only a novella, so didn't go into too much depth about anything but sometimes this is just what I need to break things up!
Actually really enjoyed it!

I liked Emma and Miles as a couple. I liked Emma and Miles' nephew Caleb's interactions. However, Miles interactions with his nephew really ticked me off. There's tough love and then there is just cruel. To me, Miles was cruel which turned me off. Luckily Miles semi redeems himself towards the end.

I seem to be in the minority of people who really disliked this book...

From start to finish I didn't get that festive vibe from it at all, which was really disappointing considering the title of the book. The only relation to Christmas we had was that it was set at Christmas!

As individuals the characters really stood out to me, Emma was strong and independent and prepared to not back down to get what she wanted. Where as Miles was the strong type when it came to his business but hid that soft side that was just waiting for someone to care enough to bring it out of him.

But together they just didn't work. They lacked that spark between them, it just felt awkward and forced at points and was really disappointing.

For me The Christmas Truce was just another bang average romance book, that was set at Christmas and claimed to be a festive read.

It wasn't completely terrible, but it was disappointing.

This charming novella is set in the workplace where two opposing parties are hashing out a merger agreement - Miles and Emma. They have been dealing with each other online and through video conferencing but they are now in the final stages of the negotiations and are meeting face to face
Emma flew in from Richmond for three days to Chicago to meet up with Miles. But they unexpectedly have personal interactions and discover that they actually like each other a lot outside of their work personas. This was a quick read but despite this, the story was well developed and the characters were relatable and likable. I liked Caleb too, he was very amusing and definitely added to this tale. I wish the epilogue was further into the future and longer but otherwise the story was complete in spite it being a novella. I rate it 4.5* as I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This was an excellent, entertaining holiday book.

Emma and Miles have been going toe to toe for exhausting hours over several days trying to work out a merger deal agreeable to both businesses. It isn't long before both are fighting off emotions other than the tuff ones they assert in the boardroom. But she lives in Virginia where she has a job she's worked hard to advance in. And Miles owns a company with two hundred emploeess that rely on him.

Seeing the emotional growth that Emma and Miles reach through these pages was outrageously fun at one moment and so heartwarming at others. Highly recommend!!

The couple: Miles and Emma

Romance genre: Office romance
Part of a series: Yes (Rosalind Brewery)
Length: 115 pages

Plot: Emma is in town to negotiate business stuff with Miles (cable? high speed internet?). He's a jerk. A hot jerk, but nonetheless. They negotiate all day, doing their best impressions of lawyers and businessmen from TV, and then Emma gets sick. Miles helps her up to her room, and from there, the relationship actually becomes more cordial. They have to decide what to do though: Emma lives in Virginia, and Miles has a business there in Chicago.

Character development: Miles and Emma were frustrating at time, both of them closed-off workaholics. Emma needed to just tell Miles that he was being a jerk. She needed to tell him when she required a break to eat or time to sleep. There's no reason he should be so focused on a merger (that can't be that high-level if it only required one non-executive to negotiate with him) that he doesn't notice that his business associate - whom he sees up close all day during the negotiations - is coming down with a flu-like virus. He made me really mad. For a supposedly smart, observant person, he was...not. I wonder, though, if some of that woodenness is due to the writing style rather than the characterization.

Would I read more from this author/in this series: undecided

I liked a lot about this book until the end! First, for being a novella I felt like the author did a great job of making me care about the characters. Second, a lot of romance was packed into a short time without it feeling super rushed. Lastly, I like the added stressor of Caleb. He was annoying but it was the extra thing that was needed for the story. However, the ending kind of ruined it for me. Out of no where, for no reason, Miles was a jerk saying goodbye just to rush off and meet her at the airport when she landed? If he knew he was going, even if he didn't want to tell her, there was no reason to be cold and mean. The story was good, but the ending was just blah and didn't fit.

The Christmas Truce: A Novella(Rosalind Brewery...

This is one of the most relaxing book I have read in a while . The way Emma and Miles got together and the way his nephew got attacked to her was so heart warming . And when Emma time was running out and she had to leave Celeb was hurt and he told his uncle that she was in love with him and ask him if he was just going to let her just leave ? He was only 18 years old . Guess what he did ? You must read it to find out cause that is exactly what I did . I think you will be glad you did . Enjoy your read .

Strong characters

Loved this novel of two strong individuals who have to deal with each other as part of a merger of Emma’s company into Mile’s larger company. They have bumped heads numerous times over emails and calls before they meet each other prior to Christmas in final negotiations prior to the merger. Things begin to turn for both as the get out into the city together. Loved their new relationship.

The heart's game

Not different from online casual dating that gives hopes for lasting relationship. The abstract business relationship, as make-up, does not fool anyone. The quick set of the story, in time-space-facts, is helpful for readers who like this type of lines and the happy ending...

This was a fun, quick Christmas romance! Emma and Miles butt heads while in the middle of a merger. Everything shifts when Miles takes a chance and asks her on a date, claiming they can separate business and pleasure. It's a good Christmas story that will keep you invested in the characters, and have you wanting more when it ends!

The Christmas Truce

I rate this as a five star because it was a great HEA. I love it when everything is laid out and the couple gets caught off guard with their feelings. Sexual activity was minimal but exciting one the less. Would recommend for a reader who enjoys romance.

A delightful read from start to finish. It involves two hard-core business associates who call a truce to put business aside to date. A nice relaxing read. Sexual situations with some foul language but strong characters and a happily ever after.

Excellent

I loved how wet get to meet another relative of the Rossi family. I enjoyed this story very much. There was plenty of romance with quite a bit of humor like the rest of the other books.

Cute little Christmas story. Emma and Miles work together and eventually have a spark between them. She ends up staying for a long weekend and they spend the whole time together ending up falling for each other.

I found this very entertaining and enjoyable! I loved the chemistry of the characters, even the annoying one, and was happy to see that with a bit of tough love, patience and guidance, it all paid off in the end.

Beautiful descriptions also of some festive activities!

Let's hear it for a strong woman!!

Fun read. I like the independent female character, who will do as she pleases and will not crumble when faced with losing her love!

Emma is determined to get the best deal from her meeting with Miles in their business conference. Not herself after taking too much cold medication, Miles and Emma call a truce. Follow along as their affection for each other grows in this fun and entertaining tale.

Good Book

I liked the story but I wished there was a lot more details on the sexy scenes. I was excited to read that they finally got to hook up but it was short and sweet.
