Naughty or Nice #5

Dear Daddy, Please Praise Me

Rate this book

Dear Santa, I want a Daddy who will take care of me...

Sanders doesn’t believe he’ll actually find a Daddy through a dating app. He’s not much to look at, and his life is a mess. A Daddy would never be interested in someone like him. But he’s lonely.

He hasn’t been kissed for three long years.

Briggs moved to the small tourist town of Red Canyon, Utah to get away from his fast-paced life in Chicago. But he also moved away from most of his dating prospects. Downloading a dating app seems like an obvious choice. The boy he messages is sweet, nervous, and drinks up every word of praise Briggs gives him. But he’s too nervous to meet face to face, claiming that Briggs won’t like him as much in person.

How can Briggs convince his boy that he’s everything a Daddy could ask for?

Dear Daddy, Please Praise Me is part of the Naughty or Nice multi-author series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but there are so many boys hoping that holiday magic will bring them their perfect Daddy, why not grab them all?

Luna David is a true romantic at heart who was fortunate enough to find and marry her soul mate. Most of the time she considers herself lucky to have been blessed with having g/b twins, but they're giving her a run for her money. She's a stay at home mom and an author, so when she's not begging her little monsters to behave, you'll most likely find her writing.

She loves anything book, coffee or dark chocolate related and can't think of a better way to pass the time than to combine all three. She reads romance novels voraciously and while she prefers contemporary romance with strong Alpha males finding their soul mates, she's a sucker for any well written, romantic story regardless of genre.

She created the Custos Securities Series because she loves to write what she loves to read. Her books feature strong dominant males and the men they would die protecting. Toss in some BDSM and kink and you've got her Catharsis Novel Series, The Boys Club Series, and Kink Chronicles Series. She loves nothing more than making her readers feel a wide range of emotions with her words. And she hopes you enjoy reading her books as much as she loved writing them. Happy Reading!

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

He wasn’t praising me for what I did, he was praising me for who I was.

I often try to be nice when it comes to narrators, because our preferences are so individual. Unfortunately this one didn’t work for me and it detracted from the story a little bit.

The story itself was adorable. Uncomplicated and cute, with a funny meet-cute and a bit of luck on a kinky dating site. One thing I really enjoyed with this one was how even though the MCs met in real life first and flirted a little bit, they both stopped doing so after they made a connection with each other online, even though they didn’t know it was the same person. I liked that a lot. Would definitely recommend you read the ebook (lol) if you want a cute daddy book.

Quick side note: I also found out that I don’t like the endearment ‘boy’ if it’s not preceeded by something. Sweet, little, beautiful, pretty, my. Just *something*. Calling someone ‘boy’ gives me objectifying and patronizing vibes for days.

Re-read August 2023

I just needed to re-read all my daddy books.

----------------------------------

This was really sweet. Sanders was absolutely adorable, and his daddy Briggs was perfect for him.

I liked the friendship between Sanders and Leo as well. How they got drunk and decided now would be a good time to make that door by putting a hammer through the wall of the coffeeshop…

Sanders is having a hard time juggling everything in his life. He tries to run the coffeeshop his sick mother can’t run anymore, he tries to complete his college degree, and he tries to not be so awkward every time a hot older guy comes into the coffeeshop.

But when 40 year old Briggs walks into the cute coffeeshop in his new town, he is immediately charmed when the awkward Sanders drops a tray of coffee when he spots Briggs.

But it seems that Sanders can’t really relax enough around him to have a decent conversation, but Briggs keeps trying.

Except no matter how cute the coffeeshop barista is, he is probably not into the same kink Briggs likes. Briggs wants a boy who he can spoil and take care of.

And that’s why Briggs tries the kink app he installed a while ago.

He immediately hits it off with the cutest boy named Awkward_and_Adorable and they start texting.

In the meantime Sanders is head over heels for this daddy he met on Cuff’d, but of course neither knows they are really talking to each other…

I absolutely loved the scene when they find out who they’ve been talking to. That was just adorable!

This whole book was pretty adorable actually. I loved how Briggs helped Sanders being more confident and kept praising him.

Overall, a very cute holiday read with some daddy kink (no age-play).

5/5. Highlights may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Content Warnings for book: Low self-esteem, struggles of having a parent with Alzheimer’s

Kink: Daddy kink, praise kink, consensual somnophilia, lace and lingerie

Dear Daddy, Please Praise Me by Luna David and Amy Bellows is a sweet, adorable daddy/boy book set around Christmas time, though the Christmas cheer is no way overbearing and the praise kink is turned up to 150%.

Sanders and Briggs were absolutely perfect together. The first half of the book had a lot of tears for me as I could relate some to what Sanders was going through his mother, and just his experience of low self-esteem and struggles... yeah. For me, it was real and easy to connect to. This book isn't high angst by any means, it's just lots of hurt/comfort in the good way.

The sex scenes were hot. The love was magical. The descriptions so well-done and visceral, I could picture the cute moment at the tree farm. Seriously in love with this book!

Luna David's writing is excellent here. For some reason I thought I hadn't read her before but that isn't true - I read Tourist Attraction by her as well, which was another five-star read for me. I have to check out her other books! Seriously, if you want a book that's just a big hug, read this.

Where can I get an app that does this?!!! WHERE?! 😵❤

For the first part of this story this was a solid 5 stars read, then they got to meet and it went down but I know it's a preference of mine. You see, I don't mind Daddy-Boy dynamics BUT when the relationship is based in praises and fluffy stuff I start to cringe really quickly, I mean where are the differences, fights and real kinks because the only kinky thing on this was the name calling and some rules, but they talked about spanking, edging and it didn't happen.

Even though I just wrote what I wrote I did enjoy this, is my fault that I was expecting something else. It was a really interesting set up that got the two main characters to meet, I enjoyed the sexy times even though there wasn't much dark stuff *sighs* and it was really, overly sweet. So a total festive read.

If you don't mind the cheesy and corny stuff this is it! Lovely ❤🥰

I've liked all this little series and it doesn't have to be read in order. Each book is written by a different author, and all feature a "Little" who has to write a letter to Santa asking him to bring a "Daddy" for Christmas. The Daddy's read the letters on the Club's website and if interested in meeting the "Little" asks the question "Have you been naughty or nice". The response plays a big part in if the Daddy and the Little will correspond anymore or even if they will meet. Of course, the books feature those that do respond the way that each were hoping for. The books can best be described as "Cute and fluffy". Sanders and Briggs were absolutely perfect together. The first half of the book may not be for all reader as it has a lot of sadness because of what Sanders was going through with his mother, and his experiences of low self-esteem. In spite of that, the story isn't high angst by any means, it just has a lot of hurt/comfort, but in a really good way. I am a sucker for a shy boy and a gentle Daddy, and these two were diffidently it. Overall...it's the story of two men taking a chance and making a connection just in time for Christmas. It does play with kink but also with exploring what makes a relationship satisfying. As I said before...there is no real conflict just lots of love.

2.75 this was sugary sweet with lots of parmesan on top

Side note: do yourself a favor and don't read the audiobook, narrator sounds like a bored high schooler reading in front of his English class.

this accomplished exactly what it set out to do. it's a sweet and steamy, insta-everything holiday Daddy story and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

what makes me a little sad is that with a higher page count and a good edit & polish this could've been really something to write home about.

had to dock .25 from the rating because the epilogue started great (read: hottt) but by the end I was drowning in cringe & cheese

Can you give a book more than 5 stars ⭐️ ?
This book deserves that.

Sanders and Briggs.
Dual POV
Loved this Daddy/Boy story and I’m pretty picky about these BUT this was a great one.

Sanders is so endearing and had a major confidence problem. Enter Daddy Briggs that brought patience and care into Sander’s life.

I laughed and was smiling a lot while reading this book AND there are some seriously sexy times too. 🔥🔥🔥

It’s low angst but high heat. I loved that as well. Perfect HEA too that will make your heart happy ♥️♥️

This book was so much happy sweet vibes. Daddy kink with praising, a MC who was doing too much and needed someone to take care of him, and another MC looking for someone to share his life with. I get bored when books are too sweet but this one got it just right and I enjoyed it completely.

Dear Daddy, Please Praise Me is a super sweet Daddy/boy story with a light holiday feel. It is part of the Naughty or Nice multi-author series of standalone stories featuring a connected theme of letters to Santa through a dating app. This story takes on the common theme of men who chat online without realizing that they know each other in real life. The authors do a nice job of keeping this set up going just long enough to lay the groundwork, without dragging the misunderstanding on forever. We get a chance to see Sanders and Briggs get to know one another casually in person, just enough to develop an attraction, but not enough to act on it as they are falling for their mystery man online. Then, through the app they are building a real connection that gets unveiled early enough that we spend most of the story seeing them as a couple offline as well.

⭐️ 5/5 – A praise-kink sugar rush wrapped in holiday magic
🌶 3/5 – Soft, needy, and just spicy enough to make your thighs twitch

“Dear Daddy, Please Praise Me” by Luna David & Amy Bellows is a swoon-drenched MM Daddy/boy romance that made my heart melt and my insides turn into warm goo. It’s my first read from this author duo and holy shit—I’m already hooked. 💘

Let’s talk about Sanders. That adorable little disaster owns my damn soul now. He’s awkward, anxious, hilariously charming, and so damn hardworking it hurts. Between finishing college for his mama and running her coffee shop after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he’s barely keeping it together—but never stops trying. He needed a Daddy so bad, it practically oozed from every page. And I needed him to get one. 🥹

Enter Briggs. Big, gentle, older Daddy energy for days. He’s supportive, warm, patient, encouraging, and fuck—his praise game? Lethal. Every "good boy" from him felt like a goddamn hug to the soul. He showed up for Sanders in the sweetest, softest, most consistent ways. Not a single red flag in sight. Just green lights and forehead kisses. 💚🫂

Their connection was heart-warming, safe, and nurturing, but with just enough emotional angst to keep you clenched. Add in the spice—sweet and worshipful, but hot enough to make you squirm in your seat—and you’ve got a Daddy/boy holiday treat that’ll leave you grinning like an idiot. 😆💞

If you love praise kink, gentle Daddies, soft but sizzling steam, and a love story that wraps around you like a weighted blanket? You’re gonna love this one. 🩵✨️

Quotes:

I’ll take a tall Americano and a boner, please…
-
“That’s Daddy’s good boy. I’m gonna stretch that pretty, little hole wide with my cock.”
-
"I'll always take care of you. Always, baby. All Daddy wants to do is make you feel good."
-
"I think that’s one of the biggest things I want to be able to give you. A sounding board. Someone to talk to about anything without judgement. I want to be the person you come to when you feel overwhelmed with life."
-
“What makes you so sure he’s my boyfriend?”
“Oh, hush. You look happier than I’ve seen you in years, and when I said boyfriend, you grinned like a demented clown.”
-
“I’m so damn in love with everything about you, I can barely see straight. When I’m not with you, I think about you. When I am with you, I’m trying to think of more ways to make you happy, to put a smile on your face, and to make you laugh.”
-
“Spread those legs for me, sweetheart. There you go. Oh, you’re so pretty. Bend over for Daddy.”

This started off really, really well. I LOVED Briggs as the Daddy, and Sanders was so sweet, but once they got together it was just a loop of diabetes inducing fluff. There was zero tension or conflict, which is fine (I love a sweet, feel good book too) except that the characters spoke in that persistently saccharine way where conversations don't feel real. Situations that could have injected a dose of realistic tension (like help with Sanders' college degree) were quickly shelved (you don't really want a degree, right? Ok, let's get nekkid). I love a nurturing Daddy and was happy Briggs leaned that way, plus his kinks were right up my alley - no age play, no humiliation - YES! - but it all quickly veered into sex, which was eh. By the time they got to wanting to explore pink panties at 75% it all felt rote and cliched. Maybe they moved on to deeper things after that but I had already lost interest. Pity because I was hooked from the first line.

the writing was well done that it kept me hooked, but i wanted something more. more with sander and leo and also more with brigg's family.

i did enjoy this a lot more than i thought i would, but one of the things that got kinda old was the same reassurance that sander needed from briggs, yes sander needed more confidence, but it was a lot of repetitive conversations over and over that i was a little over that.

but other than that it was an enjoyable read and i flew through it.

This book was as sweet as can be. When it hit the 50% mark and everything was sunshine and rainbows, I wanted it to stay that way but knew with half the book left, there had to be conflict coming...except it didn't. And I guess I kind of needed some? So while this book was sweet and sexy as can be, it also felt somewhat redundant at times. Nevertheless, it put a smile on my face.

Did a nice little reread of this since this year's season of naughty or nice books have been really bumming me out. This was one I really enjoyed from season 1 and it's the best of this particular trope. The trope of being that both characters have run into each other in their offline lives but are convinced the other is vanilla. And then they connect through online and click really well but it is anonymous.

Almost every book in season 2 has attempted to do this trope as well and it has just been so boring. I like that in this one they talk and get to know each other online for a little bit and then they set up a time to meet. They're meeting happens like halfway through the book and so you still get plot with them working out a relationship as two people offline.

Also appreciate that this one has two well done character arcs and both characters have substance of their own by themselves and then more substance as a couple. Of course this is more of an insta-love / whirlwind romance as almost all of these books are since they take place during like a month or two.

Sanders is a business owner who runs a coffee shop with his best friend. He is dyslexic and also caring for his mother who has early onset Alzheimer's and is in a full-time care home. He is also attempting to go to school and he has a lot on his plate. He's looking for a daddy to help him and take care of him emotionally.

Briggs is recently retired, but like 45, and has just moved to the outskirts of town. He falls in love with a little bookshop that happens to be right next to the coffee shop that Sanders owns. Yes there's a quirky bookstore owner with a parrot and it's wonderful. Briggs and Sanders get to know each other a little bit through casual floating when brakes goes and gets coffee but they're real connection happens online.

3.5 stars! I thought this was short, sweet, and really liked the lack of conflict in this. Just a caring daddy who wanted a sweet boy to spoil and take care of, and a boy looking for forehead kisses and a loving daddy.

I'd recommend reading the book with eyes instead of ears (the narration is great!) just because of all the instant messaging back and forth that happens, and reading out their usernames was distracting.

I loved the awkward boy angle, and needed something sweet.

Dull. Simply dull. Literally, nothing happened. I actually fell asleep while reading this book. I'm not trying to be harsh, the writing was rather lovely, all that was missing was three-dimensional/interesting characters and a plot.

Perfection

This was by far the best Christmas story I have read this year!

Sanders and Briggs were made for each other! One needed someone to care for and the other needed someone to take care of him! Sanders's life is overwhelming and he is holding on by a thread! Briggs is at the beginning of the next stage of his life and is ready to settle down and find a boy that needs his care the way he needs to care for his boy.

Start with some coffee, throw in some sexting, and a hammer... and you have the beginnings of the greatest love story ever told! Well, maybe not the greatest, but it is dang close! *grin*
